They are very experienced builders who know their trade and don’t cut corners. I can’t recommend them highly enough and wont hesitate to use them again. We bought a property in March 2020 that we knew had huge potential. The house needed renovating it in its entirety, but we also wanted to add to its square footage by building a single floor extension. We had a vision for an open plan kitchen-diner and appointed an architect to help us realise our dream. When searching online we came across RJ Construction and saw they came extremely highly recommended. James and Rob were incredibly approachable and we instantly felt as though we were in trusted hands. After showing them our plans and taking a tour of our home they agreed to take on our project, both the extension and renovating the whole house. It was a massive project and James & Wade worked tirelessly building our home. Not living at the property during the build, we would visit weekly and were always so pleasantly surprised at how quickly everything progressed (even during a pandemic!!). James kept us involved and informed, as well as notified us of any changes along the way. We kept on budget, stuck to a good timeline and everything was built to a high standard. Overall we are so impressed and grateful to James, Wade & Rob for building our family home (including all the fantastic tradesmen who helped out too). The extension has transformed the house and definitely added on value when we come to sell in the future. These guys are worth every single penny!

RJ construction recently completed an internal wall knockthrough and external bifold door opening on our victorian terrace. During the first visit to price the job it was clear that Rob was detailed, personable and the price was very fair. Work started on time but we soon hit problems with the structural engineers design (not Robs fault). Rob provided the structural engineer with an alternative steel arrangement which building control approved. Building control also required our structural brick pier to be underpinned which again didn't phase Rob at all. He knew the best install method, provided reassurance to us and most importantly the building control officer trusted him - he then stayed until 9pm to get the concrete poured. Rob also organised plumbers, electricians and plasterers and again all hard working and high quality install. Overall Rob and his team were great, they stayed late many evenings due to us giving them additional work, and we are really happy with the end result. Even with all the changes the costs were very good value for money. Will definately go to RJ construction for the next project!

Rob, James and the team did an amazing job on converting our integrated garage into a bedroom and ensuite, and also built a single storey extension at the rear of our house (kitchen/dining room). Due to using some cowboy builders previously for the garage conversion, they rectified all the problems we had been left with. Rob and Partner were tasked with removing old conservatory, and building base and walls for new Orangery. This included having to completely relay all waste drainage system to 4 outlets. Very polite, amenable and motivated. Fully explained work to be done and involved us in decision making. Having purchased a house in the Allington area mid 2021, we took the decision to renovate our entire kitchen/dining area. After asking a few neighbours for recommendations on local builders, the RJ name came up time and time again. We took a few quotes and not only did RJ come out the best priced, they were also the most helpful and responsive of any of the companies we spoke with. The whole team, and specifically Rob, couldn't do enough to help and even when additional emergency work was required on one occasion, Rob and his team worked late into the night to ensure everything was safe as soon as possible and at no extra charge. We now have a fantastic new kitchen we can be proud of and can’t thank RJ enough for making it possible. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for construction/landscaping work in the Kent area.

I have absolutely nothing negative that I could say about RJ Construction. We had the downstairs of our house completely remodelled, which involved knocking down almost every single wall and rebuilding them, removing the stairs, replacing all the windows, moving the back door, building a porch, removing the chimney breast and fireplace, and a whole lot more. We already had the plans drawn for what we wanted, but we were a bit apprehensive about who we would choose to start the works, then we met with Rob and James a couple of years ago and just knew we were in safe hands. We were able to go and visit a few of their more recent projects to see the work they'd done and weren't pressured into making any decisions. They were completely open with us about the costs and what was included in those costs, so if we wanted to upgrade certain things, then they wouldn't be an unexpected cost. Although we largely knew how we wanted everything to be, there were things that came up throughout the build where we had to make decisions. My partner and I often disagreed with quite a few bits and Rob spent quite a lot of time helping us out with the decision making, which was really helpful; not something we would have thought we'd need in a builder, but definitely something we're glad we had. Due to lockdown and me working from home, I was there throughout the entire build and I can honestly say, I enjoyed every single second of the experience. I thought I'd get under their feet but everyone was really nice and got me involved, talking me through everything they were doing, and letting me have a go at some of the less dangerous stuff. Again, not something you necessarily need in a builder, but if you've got someone spending a lot of time at your house, I think it's important to have someone you like. There was very little we had to organise ourselves. Rob coordinated all of the tradespeople for us, so we barely had to lift a finger. We already know we're going to do some work upstairs and I can say with 100% certainty that we will only be using RJ Construction and won't be considering anyone else. If there's one thin

I found RJ construction online as I wanted some structural changes to my house, which included an open plan kitchen dinner, removal of chimney breast on the ground and first floor, and window and door location change. Rob has always been helpful and professional throughout and has also provided me with so much valuable additional advice and information, as this was my first ever house renovation (on a budget also). Rob and his colleagues are hard working and get the job completed to a excellent standard. I like the way that Rob communicated with not only me but also my new neighbours whenever there was going to be noise. I also am grateful of how well they tidied up after themselves at the end of each day. This always ensured that other trades would be able to carry out their jobs without delay. I did not know any trades people as I am new to the area, but as I began to trust Rob, I felt reassured when he put me in touch with structural engineers, electricians and plumbers. I was not left disappointed and this helped ease so much of my stress levels. Rob takes pride in his work but also enjoys helping you learn key points for the future and gave me a lot of advice on smaller projects that I was tackling myself. This for me showed what a genuine person he is. I have seen him mentor his apprentice throughout my renovation and it is clear that he is a kind hearted person who is passionate about his work and this is reflected in the results he has produced. We bought a house in March 2020 that had been lived in by its previous owner for 60+ years. We loved everything about it and could see huge potential, but we knew the entire property needed renovating. It was a massive job, everything needed replacing and the list felt overwhelmingly endless: new electrics, plumbing, bathroom suite, front door, windows, internal doors, carpets, light fixtures, plug sockets and stripping old wallpaper. Not to mention a whole new floor-plan, with new doors & windows. But we knew it would be worth it if we found the right people for the job. We searched for a contractor and builder who could not only renovate our home to a high standard, but also guide us throughout and help with any curveballs. We had a strict budget and needed someone to help be realistic with need/want vs. cost. We found Rob and James online and they came so highly recommended we decided to get in touch. I spoke to James on the phone and immediately knew they were the best people for the job. James was appointed as our contractor and we couldn’t of asked for a better person to look after us during the process. We’d never taken on anything like this before, so it was daunting at times. James guided us through, kept us informed and updated with cost, and we learnt a lot along the way. We wholeheartedly trusted James to get us the best deal without losing quality for items during the renovation and he worked tirelessly to finish our family home. There was such a personal touch during the renovation and we felt fully involved. James also had a whole army of talented tradesmen who stepped in to complete our house to a high spec. From a great plumbing team, brilliant electrician, a master plasterer, genius carpenter and roofer, just to mention a few. Plus we even used a recommended tiler to finish off our bathroom and utility. I could not recommend these guys enough. Contractors, builders and tradesmen like these are rare and special. Thank you to everyone who worked on our home, there hasn’t been a minute while living here that we haven’t felt grateful.

I highly recommend RJ Construction. Rob and his team carried out the building work on my recent extension and I employed him to do some other jobs too while he was on site. Rob gained my trust quickly by contacting me in advance to discuss the project in detail. He took a lot of trouble to order brick samples, for example, and advised on other matters too. While on site Rob and his teamed worked hard but carefully and thoroughly; he involved me in the process, gave me options and was honest enough to show me when there was an error (not his fault) and corrected it. Overall I thought the work Rob and his team did was of a high standard, he ensured a good quality finish and added some extras. I thought the prices for his work were more than reasonable in light of the effort and care put in, and the finished quality. I’d add that Rob and his team were friendly, thoughtful (e.g. about noise and neighbours) and kept the place tidy during the project. Rob built a conservatory for me. He was professional and responsive. We ran into unexpected and unforeseen difficulties as, on digging the foundations it was discovered the drainage for the house ran straight along where the weight bearing wall would be (I'm not using the correct terms as I know very little about these things) but Rob explained everything in a way to help me to understand clearly what needed to happen. He simplified language, and let me know how the additional work would affect the overall cost of the job. Rob is very knowledgable and he went above and beyond to explain to my neighbours also, which is so important. From our very first phone call until completion we found the communication with RJ Construction fantastic. Both Rob and James were only too happy to give us an update on progress at the end of each day. RJ Construction undertook the demolition, groundworks, brickwork, carpentry, electrics, glazing and plastering, the quality of workmanship cannot be faulted. Rob, James and Wade have just completed our extension starting back in November. We chose them to ensure we saw the same face every day unlike some companies that sub out all the work. James and Rob gave me confidence from the start and pride themselves on building honest and open relationships with their customers and they truly do. They took most of the stress out of the build, quoted a fair price and remained within this other than my offer of more work. This was because their standards are extremely high and they always left the end of the day with our home as tidy as possible. I could not be happier with them and anything i needed to ask was met with the time needed to understand the process and before finishing James ensured he went round to check everything was as it should be; to his high standards. Wade the apprentice is equally as helpful; helping me move the arrival of my kitchen down to the summer house. He didnt have to do this but wanted to and I really appreciated that. Our old boiler was recently removed from the kitchen, and whilst plastered up on the inside there was a gaping hole in the exterior brickwork. I used RJ Construction to knock through my kitchen to my new conservatory and move a window to the side of the house. The space has been completely and now looks exactly as I wanted it to. Throughout the works the team listened to what I wanted, made suggestions to keep within my budget and carried out the work to high standard. They even organised all the tradesmen to be on site at different stages so it all kept to original timescales. I would highly recommend this team to anyone looking to have something similar

RJ Construction recently replaced some fencing down the side of our garden. We were very pleased with the way things went from start to finish. The quotation they supplied gave us several options to choose from, and made it clear exactly what was included. The skips turned up and were removed on time and the area where they were working was left very tidy at the end of each day. The work was completed on time, and they even turned up for a few hours on the Bank Holiday Monday to make up a bit of lost time, after they lost the best part of a days work due to heavy rain. We are both very pleased with our new fence which looks very smart, and far superior to the one it replaced. They also made an excellent job of clearing the undergrowth and weeds along the fence line, and actually cleared a larger area than we had expected. When they had finished, they also made an excellent job of clearing and cleaning the worksite, so that in fact I had no clearing up to do myself. All in all an excellent job, and we will not hesitate to use them again. Next job – painting the facias and soffits.

James and his team were contracted to convert my somewhat under used garage into a habitable and comfortable room - the "snug". The service James and his team offered was second to none. Courteous, professional pleasant and above all communicative; letting us know at every step of the job what was happening and when. On cessation of each days work the team always cleared up and left things both safe and tidy. The garage conversation went to plan and met the budget. A couple of minor repair jobs were also completed without cost to us. A slate missing here and a brick changed there etc. The snug is now a haven for the grandchildren and a man cave when footy is on. Its warm in the winter and cool in the summer. An additional bedroom when guests appear.
