We are the homeowners who became part of the James King team when they were tasked to build an oak Garden Room attached to the house. Originally we had planned to have a mezzanine in our high-ceiled living room to act as a dining place - we live in a converted barn. James and team showed us that the plans we had been given would not work as specified. My wife said - why not outside and attached to the utility room? And so the project began. We are delighted everyday with the result, a dining room, a room to relax and watch the garden birds, at night to see the stars and to snooze after lunch. The oak frame was built off-site, dismantled and shipped to the foundations and assembled without nails, using dried oak pegs. We became involved at every step; the budget was accurate to within 5%; the team were hard workers - fitting a shingle roof, one tile at a time, is exhausting; they worked all weathers and cleared up beautifully afterwards. No drama and all delivery - we would use them again any day.

King & Co built a beautiful timber Mandap , a four pillared structure, for our Hindu wedding ceremony at Narborough Hall Gardens. James & his team were open and keen to take on this new project from the start and their enthusiasm helped us to transform our idea into a fantastic end product for our big day. The Mandap looked really unique, particularly when it was dressed in fresh flowers, and felt much more special and personal than hiring a ready-made Mandap from a wedding company. We even had the opportunity to visit James at his workshop, and he took the time to show us other projects him and his team were working on. We were halfway through an extension and overhaul of our bungalow when our timber-framer began letting us down. We were living in a ruin with no heating, no kitchen, limited plumbing, a dubious leaky roof and a mud-pit for a garden when I discovered I was pregnant just in time for Winter to really set in. James King and his team arrived like knights in shining armour in the early Spring and by the time the baby arrived in the Summer the house was not only finished but completely transformed.
