For once a company who do what they say they will, within the timescale and stick to their quote. Maughan's were exceptional and we are absolutely thrilled with our new driveway. I met Ted recently to obtain a quote for the driveway. He was friendly, professional and gave us a fair quote for the work needed to be carried out. With working from home as a property lawyer I had doubts about the level of noise and disruptions, however I can confirm that these were totally unfounded. There were times throughout the day I wouldn’t of known they were there. Him and his team arrived on time each morning and the job was completed in as little as 2 days. The whole service provided was exemplary and nothing was too much trouble for Ted and his team, all of whom were polite and extremely tidy which made the whole experience a very seamless and stress free service. What a transformation! A huge thank you to Ted and his team at Maughan Construction for our new driveway and patio. The finished work is so much better than we dared hope it could be. From start to finish we were impressed with how hardworking and efficient everyone involved were. The organisation of the different tradesmen, the delivery of materials and removal of waste was seamless. The quality of the job and attention to detail were faultless, and the quality of materials used exceptional. Ted kept us well informed at each stage of the work, and as the job progressed suggested some improvements which were done at no extra cost. At the end of each working day the team left everything meticulously clean and tidy, and once the work was complete they even removed and old water butt and some old tiles that were littering the garden. The whole team were friendly and approachable, and it was clear that our satisfaction was their highest priority. The work ethic of the company and their finished products speak for themselves - a number of our neighbours were so impressed that they have already signed up to have jobs done for themselves. We cannot recommend the company highly enough, we’d give 6 stars if we could!

I recently contacted Maughan construction to quote me for a driveway along with a number of other companies, Ted was quick to respond to my enquiry and quickly arranged a date to come and view the job, Ted was very detailed in what service he would provide in the completing the driveway and his estimate was competitive with the others, once I made the decision to give the job to Maughan, Ted again quickly responded with a date and timescale to complete the job, there was no requirement for any upfront payments Once Ted and his team arrived I was still a little dubious that they would be able to complete the job to a high standard in the timescale stated, Ted and his team arrived at the stated time of 7:30 they worked through until 18:00hrs and a very large drive had been dug up, removed, hardcore and concrete applied drainage sorted and edging laid ready for the top layer of TEG paving, I was also present throughout the whole process and observed each stage of the installation Whilst I was impressed with the quality of work and timescale involved, his team were also very conscientious in ensuring everywhere was tidy and cleaned as they worked, even the roadway was washed down and every bit of waste removed. They arrived the next day again at 7:30 to start laying the paving, the whole job was completed by midday again to an exceptional standard, I am very picky on detail and struggled to find fault with the workmanship, Ted is a character and very dedicated individual to ensuring the quality of his work is at a very high standard, his can do and customer satisfaction attitude is very refreshing, he even did a few extras to ensure small details were completed Some may think I am exaggerating in this review which I never write, hopefully the photos speak for themselves but feel free to come and look for yourselves I would have no hesitation in recommending Maughan construction (Ted) to complete your driveway

From the quote to having the job done, Ted made it absolutely painless. His team arrived early doors and worked late. They were polite , hard working . New patio and drive extension. A day full digging out and hardcore/ concrete base, followed by day 2 more concrete ,sand and paving. New fence and bedding area all completed in the two days as promised. I dont often write reviews but i have to for this company as i am so very impressed with Ted, his team and the work they have completed, my new drive has totally transformed my home. From the moment Ted came out to give us a quote to have our driveway blocked paved he was very professional contacting us when he said he would and arriving bang on time to do the work. He explained in detail what work he would carry out and how long it would take, just 2 days, i was a little sceptical at that but he absolutely got the job done in 2 days. Both Ted and his team worked incredibly hard despite the wet weather, they were always polite and a pleasure to talk to. Ted came across a couple of issues with our drains, two of which were blocked and unbelievably instead of stopping the work he was up to his armpits in my drains clearing them out. Our gutter was also blocked and as this would cause a puddle on the drive washing out the sand he sent one of his team up a ladder to clear the blockage, I could not believe it and very much doubt you would get that attention to detail from any other company. Ted found that our gravel boards were too high and would have resulted in soil washing onto the drive so he installed new kerb stones and infilled with stone to give it a professional finish without charging any extra for this. The end result my drive is now the envy of the neighbourhood and i can honestly say if/when i have my patio replaced they will be the only company i contact to do the work. I doubt you will find a more professional team, a greater work ethic or a better price for such an excellent job. I really cant recommend them highly enough, I am so pleased I choose them to replace my driveway.

After contacting several drive companies in the area, I was finding some of the high quotes frustrating as well as people simply not getting back to me. One of the last companies I contacted was Ted Maughan who got back to me really quickly. He spoke to me on the phone, and gave me the best quote I had received. I was still waiting for one last quote, so didn’t contact him for a few weeks. When I did get back to him he came to the house to talk to me about what it was that I needed. Not only did he give me a great and fair quote, he talked through every step of the process, explaining what he could do and how it could look, making suggestions based on his many years of experience. After showing me some photographs, I chose some colours and the design. The next day, Ted gave me a call, he wanted to pop around and show me something. He had found some colour bricks that he felt would suit my house better. He popped around with the bricks to show me exactly how it would look and showed me a comparison so I could see what he meant. You know what? He was absolutely right! Ted and his team showed up exactly when he said they would. As I was at work he sent me pictures through WhatsApp so I could see what was going on. The work was to a high standard and really neat. His team had tidied up the tarmac pavement where it was a mess as it met the beginning of the driveway too! Everything (paths etc.) was left clean and tidy. Amazing customer service and a lovely chap to just chat to and hear his story of how his business came to be. When I went back to check on the work (Ted did not want any money until it was completed and I was happy) I also had the pleasure of meeting his lovely wife who is every bit as friendly and down to earth as Ted. Although Ted couldn’t be there at that time, he called me to make sure that I was absolutely happy with everything. If only more people had such fantastic customer service! In future if I buy another property that needs a drive, Ted would without a doubt be my first port of call and I have recommended him to all of my friends and family. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing his services. I can see from the other reviews left for him how highly he is regarded and this reputation has most definitely been earned. What can I say, Ted and his boys sorted a driveway and patio for me and they've done a fantastic job. Ted clearly cares about his business and wants to ensure that his customers are happy. Before I committed to the work, I went and spoke to a couple of his previous customers to see if they were happy with his workmanship and they could not give enough praise. My only complaint would be that Ted likes to go over the same thing over and over, but it's only because he wants to make sure he's giving you what you want. I found Maughan Construction searching google for a company to lay a patio. Maughan had a good review, so I contacted them for a price. Ted replied to me the same day, and arranged to come and give me a price for the work. We found him to be very friendly, and helped us pick the right materials for our patio. Very pleased with what Ted and his team have done for us. Our back garden is approx 80 square meters, in two sections - one side for the car and the other side a lawn. Both these areas had not been touched for some years and were an embarrassing wasteland. Maughan construction laid half the garden block paving and put down good quality soil on the other side for a new lawn. They dug it all out, laid hard core and concrete, doing a top job throughout. They dug out our front garden too, laid hardcore, weed inhibitor sheet, a new pathway and finished off with some nice plum slate. As I said, each of these areas had not been touched for some years and were a mess. So I can't believe Ted and his crew managed to turn it all around in less than two days and now it looks great. Our neighbours have said how nice it looks too. They were all polite, and Ted was very patient, giving advice when we were unsure of what we wanted and kept changing our minds. They use good quality materials and have all the equipment necessary to do the professional job in good time. Very easy to give top marks to Ted and his team at Maughan Construction.

Ted (Terrence) came to see me and listened to what I wanted, he also gave me advice and made suggestions and guidance from his extensive experience. I was provided with pictures, videos and references. I then decided to use Maughan Construction, like everyone who uses a new company I worried that I had made the right decision, and hoped the finished drive would look good ........ what a waste of time worrying. The team arrived and worked well, and kept the site tidy- a rarity!! When the work was completed it exceeded my expectations two fold. And the icing on the cake was the next day Ted turned up and put top soil on the flower bed by the drive and some gravel near a wall. This was a lovely gesture and not charged for. Ted from Maughan construction came last weekend to quote digging up our exsisting drive and re modelling. He arrived exactly the time he said he would and gave me a quote on the day. He then sent several pictures during the day of options and came back the next day to speak with my husband. The following week he arrived at 7.30am with his men and they got straight to work, by the end of the first day our old drive was gone , membrane and hardcore down. Second day 2 new brick pillars at front and front wall made good. Day 3 block paving laid, stones down really thickly , tarmac made good on street. Done!. Ted is one of the friendliest men you’ll meet, “ gift of the gab” for sure , but he backs it up with his workmanship! His men are polite and immensely hard working as is Ted, who was with them every morning. Only time will tell it’s durability, but I am sure it will remain in excellent condition. This was a difficult job that involved breaking up a large area of deep concrete which all happened quickly and efficiently the job was made more complicated as we lived down a narrow lane the laying of the foundation was carried out using all the correct materials, the delivery of the materials was well coordinated and the lads worked exceptionally hard to complete this work to the highest standards I have never seen a team work so hard ,we were welcomed to inspect the work progress throughout the build, l have no hesitation in recommending Terence and and all the staff at Maughan Construction I can’t give you enough praise for the beautiful driveway you have created for us Terence is a pleasure to deal with and a very customer friendly person that listens to what customers would like done on there driveway .big thank you
