We engaged Gary and his team from a local advert. As we were looking for a business which concentrated on pointing Grove were the best option we found.
In terms of the process of carrying out the work, keeping the site clean, helpful and friendly team these guys were faultless.
Gary kept me informed of any changes which came up, such as a day of heavy rain when they were unable to work and he was immediate in his responses to any queries from our end.
Once the scaffolding had been installed the job was completed in four days, which is very fast for repointing a whole semi, and the site, whilst obviously dusty from the necessarily messy nature of the work in hand, was left very clean and tidy on a daily basis.
We took advantage of the scaffolding being in place and asked Grove to also fit new guttering, soffits and downpipes plus (on Gary's good advice) replaced the roof ridge tiles, saving money on any future need to do that work.
We were aware that the work on our house was necessary if not urgent and that the labour-intensive nature of the job would mean it wouldn't be cheap but we hadn't reckoned with the incredibly uplifting effect on the look of our house. It is 71 years old this year but looks newly-built and it's hard not to notice admiring glances from passing neighbours.
We would highly recommend Gary and his friendly Grove team for any similar work you might be considering.

We chose Grove Repointing because we wanted someone who specialised in pointing to replace the pointing at our home because it was falling out! Gary explained the issue was because the wrong type of pointing had been used and recommended removing it all and replacing with lime pointing. Quite a few issues arose when the old pointing was taken out as we discovered other issues with the stonework. Gary and the team were able to sort all these out for us and kept me fully in the loop. The team worked hard, were polite and as tidy as could be expected given the nature of the work. After doing the house in 2020 we asked Gary to come back and do the garage and large front wall in 2022. We had to wait a while but were more than happy to do so. People regularly comment on how much better our home looks now and we agree. No hesitation in recommending. But don’t give Gary tea in a tin mug!

Gary and his team did a fantastic job for us. We had to book well in advance, which we took to be a good sign, and were not disappointed. He came when he said he would, did a great job of repointing our Victorian house, and was very competitive on price too. The job is unavoidably messy, but the clean up they did at the end was seriously impressive. We recommend Gary without hesitation.

Gary and his team are brilliant, Gary came round on the same day I enquired about a quote and did the work within 2 weeks even though they were extremely busy. They did an excellent job at repointing my terrace house in lime and left the front of the house spotless when they had finished. Great competitive pricing and very good workmanship. I would recommend him and his team to anyone.

After much research we contacted Gary at Grove Re-pointing Services to come and survey our period property that had been previously incorrectly pointed in portland cement. We required some brick and stone repairs and all the mortar removed and replaced with lime mortar.
Gary is very knowledgeable in all elements of Lime re-pointing that is essential in restoring old period properties.
Gary and his team are very efficient and professional in their approach, self-contained and eager to get the job completed to the standard that we requested.
Some brick and stonework replacement was required and accurate period materials were sourced together with an excellent colour match of 100% lime mortar.
Gary and his team worked efficiently to a clear methodology, keeping to time and schedule while taking maximum attention to detail of the job at hand. We were very keen to protect some newly installed window frames from any damage and this was quickly addressed.
On completion the team restored the area to as it was before their arrival – to the untrained eye, you would not have known they had been! A neighbour who called round whilst Gary and his team were clearing up, commented that their work ethic and attention to detail was commendable.
We are delighted with the finished work and feel our property is now future-proofed to withstand the next 100yrs. We have received many positive comments from passers-by who saw the work in progress.
Our thanks to Gary, Ryan and Richard for a superb job. PS They all like cake!
