My boyfriend had a really nice experience in the float pod at Shimmer. The staff was helpful and the atmosphere was calming. They explained everything ahead of time and there was music a person could listen to while floating. His only comment for improvement was that said it would have been nice to have some oils for after the float, and/or some leave-in conditioner, as the salt from the water made his hair dry. He had a really nice experience and we would happily go back!

Both Alan and his wife made us feel very comfortable doing our first float and was great to have such an informative chat about what else that they offer and the benefits it can provide. Booked a pregnancy massage and a deep tissue for my husband.. he loved his said the women did it properly!! It hurt as expected but felt great after/next day.. mine was good but as pregnant can't be as good as normal but very relaxing... Only shame was my room was just off the reception so I could here chatting and people arriving/leaving.. also could hear house music from flat/shop next door.. not the salons fault just a bit off putting. But if recommend as it was worth the money and my husband thought his was great!!

Have visited twice for pedicures. Fantastic job both times. Staff very friendly & very patient. I was slightly incapacitated following an accident but they made sure I was completely comfortable before they began. I look forward to visiting again. Would highly recommend.

I have visited this salon three times. First to use the floatation tank, then a second time for a pedicure and today for a manicure. It is a lovely salon. The staff are very welcoming, I was asked three times by different staff if I wanted a hot or cold drink. The first two treatments were great but today I was dissatisfied with the finish, it looked great until you looked closely. I am sure they would have sorted it but I didn’t have time to stay longer.

Wow! I’ve been wanting to try floating for a while and it did not disappoint! As it was my first float, it took me a while to get into my optimal floating position but once I reached it… it’s hard to describe but it’s amazing and you’ll need to try it out, but when I got out I felt great both in my mind and body. I can’t wait to use it again and if you read this, just get in there because it’s nothing but positive results!

First time i tried a flotation tank and I'm so grateful it was with these guys, good experience, good service, Shower en suite, towel provided with nice fruit tea and water served at the end gives you enough time to gather yourself before you leave. Would go again.

Have struggled to find nails which I like, absolutely love my nails from Shimmer ,staff amazing really good suggestions for different types of nails and took lots of time over my treatment. Would highly recommend.

One of the best experiences ever. I was feeling a wee bit overwhelmed with thoughts and after one hour of staying there, I could find some clarity. The experience itself was for me a sort of 'spiritual', very relaxing time. Floating by myself, felt like there is no time or space. Really interestenting. They offer massage as well, so next time I'll take them both. I felt so recharged after.

I went for a float in the isolation tank after seeming one used by a famous youtuber Joe Rogan who has his own in his multimillion dollar house . Now this kind of experince is not just for the rich - it's easily affordable by anyone! I was a bit apprehensive going in, but the staff we're very knowledgeable and they gave me very clear and easy to understand instructions on how to go about floating ! Can you imagine an hour without your iPhone going off in your pocket or stressing over what you've got to do next. Floating helps you to live in the moment . Also my whole skeleton felt as if I had been to a chiropractor x 10 ! I had a spring in my step that I had forgotten I had a smile from ear to ear that lasted hours !! Without a doubt this was the best experience I've ever had in my life! I felt so amazing after one hour . I'll be doing two hours next time as time flew so quickly . I've recommended to friends and family and can't wait for my wife to return later on today after she tries it out for herself. Thanks to all the staff for bringing such a much needed busiesss to Edinburgh !
