i came here for my 7 week mental health placement as part of my nursing training at the university of birmingham and i absolutely loved it! I was based on Magnolia ward for my time, but spent days at ECT and Melissa. All of the staff were incredible and always put the patients needs first. I've been humbled by the experience and its made me more interested in working in mental health in the future. anyone who spends time on this ward will be well looked after by the amazing staff!

I’m a Year One Nursing student with the University of Birmingham and I was on Magnolia Ward at The Oleaster for my first placement. It was a fantastic ward with brilliant staff who were passionate about their jobs and the patients needs. I’ve learnt a lot from my experience on this ward and it has made me want to work in mental health. For any students or anyone going to work on this ward the staff are great and welcome you from day one!

Brilliant hospital. I must give a shout out to the indian consultant @ Oleaster and his team. I don't know his name so I apologise. As much as I hate hospital when I am ill and in denial, it is really therapeutic that it puts me back to normal. If it was not for hospital, I think I would of been dead by now. Thanks.

High security. Had Lateral Flow test and wear a mask. Went for a meeting, but it is not open generally to visitors unless booked.
