Bowreed played at our wedding in August 2021 and they were beyond amazing. The ceilidh has been the number one thing all the guests have spoken to us about since our day. Fred, Jemma and the band are not only highly talented but also made every one feel at ease with joining in. There were a lot of newbies who ended up loving it!!! It truly was the highlight of our night and the perfect fun time that got every single person up and dancing!! We also got the DJ package and it was perfect to use our own playlist on their system for the later part of the night.

Bowreed were quite simply fantastic, and their music absolutely made our wedding day. We wanted a band that could do a cracking Ceilidh, incorporate some Klezmer, and some covers that would get everyone up on the dancefloor, and my goodness they delivered. Georgia's calling was spectacular, we had so many people keen to join in that we were in danger of running out of space, and the venue was big. At one stage there were three generations on the floor, spanning the ages of 3-73, and all of them danced to the end. I honestly can't recommend them highly enough, whatever you need them for, whether it is authentic folk ceilidh music, some funk for a dance, or blistering rock n' roll, this is one of the best bands I have heard for quite some time, and one of the tightest ensembles you will ever hear. Book them. It will be one of the best decisions you make.

Bowreed are amazing! They provided an absolutely incredible performance at our wedding a couple of weeks ago. Chris and the band were all absolutely fantastic and their ceilidh made for such a fun, relaxed and brilliant evening - everyone loved it and it was the perfect end to an amazing day! Brilliant Ceilidh band for weddings! We hired Bowreed for a few hours' ceilidh at our wedding and they did not disappoint! On the day they set up invisibly, and the caller was very good at both coaxing people into the ceilidh and marshalling some of the wedding guest who appeared to have really enjoyed the drinks during the meal... We are extremely glad that we had Bowreed play at our wedding reception. Our guests had a fantastic time - from the veteran ceilidh dancers to the first timers, everyone was up on their feet and dancing away from first to last. Actually it made me feel a bit sorry for the DJ, since everyone else took a break at the same time as the band! One of our friends had flown in from San Francisco and had his mind absolutely blown by his very first ceilidh experience, and my new German in-laws now think that this is how British people dance all the time! The band were lovely to deal with, both during the run-up, through two covid-related postponements, and on the night itself - including going out of their way to figure out a simplified routine to get my wife and I involved after we realised she couldn't walk backwards in her dress! We are very satisfied customers, and would recommend Bowreed to anyone planning a party and looking to get everyone dancing from the start.

Bowreed played at our recent wedding and were fantastic. We chose them as we had previously been to a wedding they performed at, and they were even better at ours! Our original date was in lockdown so we rearranged a year later and they were great with all the uncertainty, remaining in contact and not charging any extra. At the wedding they set up discretely and quickly and managed to get everyone (from 3 yrs old to over 75) up and dancing. The dances were tailored well, especially as most of us hadn't done a ceilidh before, followed by a disco with a playlist we sent through. Hundred percent recommend them to anyone planning an event, and lots of the guests went away talking about booking them for birthdays, parties etc. I don't usually do google reviews but these guys were great.

Bowreed put on a fantastic show for our wedding. The band were very relaxed and easy to communicate with both on the day and before which certainly helped us relax to. The members are obviously multi-talented and were very flexible to help us get the most out of our day, even discussing various options for Covid times. We had a Ceilidh and also an acoustic set during our drinks reception which providing a very relaxing and joyful atmosphere. As for the Ceilidh itself: this first timer thought it was amazing and the caller did a really good job of keeping everyone involved. They also really knew how to read the room and could tell when people were getting somewhat worn out which aided the flow of the night by playing instrumentals through the small 'transition/ rest' periods. The band were also happy to be flexible, doing three shorter sets rather than two longer ones due to hot weather. The disco was fun and very well run. We booked Bowreed for our unique wedding on the S.S.Great Britain as we wanted music and a band that would get everyone dancing and fit nicely with the theme of the venue. We are so glad that we did as they did the most amazing job of getting everyone up and going! Georgia was a lovely caller helping everyone with the different moves and getting my Irish uncle excited to show everyone how a good ceilidh is done! The band did a great job letting us play our first dance waiting patiently even when the times for the day didn't go as planned. Fred did a great job helping our friend who was djing later use the equipment and stayed till 1am standing by to help whenever we needed him. I could not recommend Bowreed enough! They went above and beyond for our special day and we could not have wished for a better band.

We would highly recommend Bowreed! They played for our wedding ceilidh in 2016 and it made a perfect finish to our wedding day celebrations. The correspondence and organisation before the day were very efficient and clear. The band members were very friendly and so flexible on the evening with what our preferences were, both for the timings of the night as well as the music played. A lovely waltz piece was played for our first dance followed by a fantastic few hours of ceilidh dancing. The caller for the band was brilliant. She was clear with the instructions and very cheerful. Bowreed played at our wedding at the end of April 2017. Their sound as a ceilidh band was excellent - it was lovely, rounded and authentic and got everyone up dancing! They also prepared several french-scottish tunes, which was a lovely touch as we are French and Scottish. We were very happy with the many hours of music that Bowreed professionally provided us on the day, the amount playing they did was a feat in itself! The only thing we thought could have been better is that the groom had to remind them on the day the music we had requested for the ceremony (they didn't bring a set list). However, they did a very good job of dealing with this and played all the pieces we asked and sounded great.

We hired Bowreed for our wedding a couple of weeks ago as a Ceilidh/Covers band combo and we honestly could not have been any happier, they were absolutely amazing! Georgia was fantastic at organising a large and raucous crowd for the ceilidh (most of who had not done a ceilidh before) and then the covers section was incredible. We had asked them to learn a number of songs and their versions were fantastic, especially nailing an incredible version of Florence And The Machine for our first dance. The whole night was super lively and so many of the guests commented on how good the band were. I should also add in the lead up to the day, Fred was exceptionally good at keeping in touch with us and answering/helping with any requests we had and totally put us at ease. The DJ service for after the live music was perfect too. Could not recommend highly enough :)

We booked Bowreed to play for my partner's 30th birthday Wild West Barn Dance, and hired a two-instrument ensemble with a Caller. Alison, Alex and Hannah were absolutely fantastic, both at getting the crowd up and dancing and in their musical selection. A few guests pointed out that the Calling was the clearest they had heard for a long while, and that the dances were pitched at just the right level of complexity and fun. They also let my partner's father play a harmonica set with them! The manager, Fred, is accommodating and very friendly, and more than happy to help. Would wholeheartedly recommend Bowreed for any private function, and will definitely book them again if ever we have another Ceilidh/Barn Dance!

Fabulous night of music, ceilidh dancing and laughter with Bowreed at Cardiff University Halls earlier this week. Booked for our NERC GW4+ PhD Doctoral Training Partnership Graduation Ball and perfect accompaniment to our evening. Got everyone up and dancing but most of all united and in great spirits! Very clear, simple instructions from our Caller (who taught everyone to dance, young and more mature, in under 5 minutes for every set dance) which meant that everyone could join in and be a part of the evening. Would definitely recommend (for large and smaller numbers of all ages) and will certainly be booking Bowreed again for our future events!

Beyond our Expectations Bowreed made our wedding brilliant! We are known to be ravers and were slightly anxious at the change of music/dance style. We wanted something that everyone could be involved in. However we need not have worried, Fred and the team were brilliant. Fred fiddled 'Right Here Right Now' in an acoustic version of FatBoy Slims famous track, when I was walking down the aisle, this set the tone of the night. The Ceilidh itself was fabulous and everyone was up dancing, shaking a tail feather and laughing. The team and caller were brilliant. Personally I should have attended a ceilidh before the wedding as it is a proper workout! Again, our request for 'rave' tunes during the disco session was met and old skool was played to suit everyone's tastes. Thank You for a fab night, I cannot recommend you highly enough!

I used Bowreed for a birthday party (a combined 30th and 60th) and would recommend them to anyone. Fred was such a brilliant fixer. He was quick to respond, communicative from my enquiry right through to the day of the party, talked me through the various line-up options, and took my budget and the number of people we had coming (~70/80 people) into acccount when suggesting packages. Ultimately we went for a duo + caller and DJ option. It was perfect! The musicians and caller were FANTASTIC. They played a huge range of tunes - brilliantly - and patiently guided guests through the moves of loads of dances. Everyone had a fabulous time, and the ceilidh was a great way to get everyone mingling and having fun together as a group. They brought their own PA along, as well as lights which really added to the party atmosphere, and were professional, punctual and entirely accommodating. If you are considering a ceilidh for your event, I would 100% without hesitation recommend these guys! You're guaranteed to have a marvellous evening.

I was so happy with Bowreed's contribution to my 30th birthday celebrations. From the outset, communication was clear and swift and I was easily able to understand what was on offer and how things would work with costs and timings. On the day, they arrived well on time and did a swift, non disrubptive sound check, completely self sufficient in set up and get out. The music was of high quality and a pleasure to dance to; perfectly balanced. The caller found the sweet spot between getting novices up to speed (some guests had never even heard of a ceilidh before but without patronising the more experienced dancers. The only regret is that the venue licence meant we couldn't keep playing music. All in all, it was a great decision and I'd happily use Bowreed again.

Bowreed played at our wedding recently and we had no end of compliments on how incredible they were!! We had a Ceilidh followed by a live set of music and they even manned our ‘disco’ for us afterwards. They were total professional but brought such a fun flair to the evening which our guests completely took to!
