I started as a beginner with Latin Roots in May 2022 and have continued to take classes and attend socials since. Latin roots is a fantastic community where you not only learn to dance; you meet new friends and become part of a community of like minded people. Wellington is a fantastic instructor! He puts care and thought into every class he teaches and has a clear passion for wanting his students to develop and improve both their dancing technique as well as their dancing ability. Since joining Latin Roots, I have made new friends, become a better a dancer, grown in confidence and all whilst having fun on a weekly basis! Thank you 😊

Latin Roots is the best place to come learn salsa and bachata in Edinburgh. I've tried a few of the other classes in town and Latin Roots is the real deal, hands down. No cramped, creepy, dramatic energy here. Wellington and Eleanna go out of their way to make the atmosphere authentic, welcoming, fun and progressively challenging to keep us on our toes. I've been working on my salsa moves at Latin Roots for the last 6 months or so and I think it's the best place in Edinburgh for it. I like the structured design of the classes, building the skills step by step. It needs some commitment in the beginning, showing up for the classes every week to pick up the basics, but it pays off. Wellington and Eleanna are passionate with the teaching and organise events so that people are introduced to social dancing. And once you are confident enough with your social dancing, you are in for a treat since Edinburgh has a great community of Latin dancers and salsa/bachata social dancing events almost daily!

When the pandemic ended I wanted to pickup a new hobby that involves dancing. Little did I know that signing up for a 4 week beginners course will lead to dancing becoming one of my favourite free-time activities. I've always thought that dancing addiction was a joke, but it's very real 😂 Now, I'm still at the beginning of my dancing journey, but I've gained the confidence to dance with anyone in the socials and lead the moves I've learned in the classes. Trying multiple classes in Edinburgh, I'm confident that Wellington and Eleanna are the best guides around for my dancing journey. The classes they teach focus on the techniques and the teachers will make sure to reveal their own tricks on how to best lead/follow a move they're demonstrating. I know how scary it can be to come out of your comfort and try something new, but LR community is the best academy in town because of the amazing Wellington and Eleanna, structured classes plan and a friendly, inclusive community. Amazing atmosphere, family vibe and great classes! Guys please don’t listen to bad reviews!!!! I’ve been dancing with Latin Roots for over the year now , it is fantastic place if you love dancing and if you want to learn how to dance. Magda and Wellington are absolutely professional, very honest and so passionate about dance ! I feel so much confident in dancing since I started and seeing others people huge improvement tells me everything ! You can like or dislike the idea of the school , they want to make it real dancing school not only drop off classes so monthly passes is the way to do. Also I think no matter how passionate they are about teaching and believe me they are , it’s still they job and business hence there is nothing wrong whatsoever to promote classes and passes and gaining new clients! As I said if you don’t like idea about school go somewhere else, plenty choice but don’t make bad reviews about the place and people you don’t know , cause you can’t really make any reasonable judgement after one class ! Amen !

It was our first time having a private dance class and we didn’t know what to expect. Magda and Wellington made every class fun and easy and we soon found ourselves excited to learn something new from the class every week. Great teachers, great school, great community! I joined the school at the end of January 2019, knowing only the basic steps. After 6 months, with commitment and help from Magda and Wellington who literally took my hand and patiently taught movements and techniques, I feel confident in the movements and how to lead. In addition, thanks to the teachers of this school who have created a community of good open and very nice people who share the fun of dancing in and out of school. Literally the best Latin Teachers in town. I’ve had the fortune of dancing for 14 years and during this time been exposed to countless dance teachers and also taught dance myself- and I can confidently state that Wellington and Magda are the best Latin teachers around. I started latin dancing with other classes but found that I stagnated/plateaued after a few months - it was only after I found Latin roots that I was able to break through this plateau and significantly improve - this is through Wellington’s and Magda’s carefully planned curriculum, precise, clear instructions and teaching techniques. If one wants to latin dance, one can join any random class but if one wants to become a Latin Dancer, however, come and learn from Wellington and Magda :)

I am attending for over two months for classes of salsa with Latin Roots and the longer I go there the more fun I have! You can learn really fast, because the teachers know when to pay attention to more difficult elements. And at the end of each classes I feel very rewarded that I have managed to progress :) I can highly recommend Latin Roots!

This is probably the best dance scool in Scotland. I cannot reccomend Magda and Wellington enough as teachers - from the begginig they showed how serious they take their student's progress as well as making a comfortable and friendly environment in their every class! All the other dancers are incredibly welcoming and you can learn a lot from the socials! Could not be more grateful for the experience and would recommend to anyone lookig to dance whether begginer or advanced!!
