I love learning from them and their way of teaching works really well for me; each lesson has a particular topic/goal in mind which is great to experience as a beginner dancer! One of the best tango schools in London. They have a great team of teachers for all levels, and it's a lot of fun in class. I specifically love that all my complex questions are answered fully satisfactory and "magic knowledge" isn't held back, even amplified, in a way that brings value to those too who are on a different part of their tango journey. I love learning and dancing tango in Tango Academy! The teachers are so passionate and talented and you can tell that tango is their life! All classes are warm, friendly and fun! Maria and Leandro pay attention to each student and nurture you through each stage, so you never stop learning! They offer online classes that are well structured and energetic and make you feel amazing! You don't need a partner to join the classes and if you miss any classes, there is always the video library available to any device, which I find handy, given my busy life! I don't particularly believe in signs, but discovering Maria and Leandro after years of dancing tango has definitely been a blessing. They are technically superb but also compassionate, have the most authentic perception of the dance, and yet are able to explain concepts and techniques with clarity that I haven't found anywhere else. A wonderful school to learn Argentine Tango, with incredibly experienced teachers. The classes are strong on technique and musicality, and also very very entertaining. Leandro and Maria play wonderful music for us in class and Leandro's depth of experience and expertise in the art of tango is apparent when he manages to answer questions and explain things that other teachers cannot. I love Maria's lady's technique workshops as it allows me to have some alone tango time perfecting my technique, with a great yoga session taught by Winston beforehand to work on specific muscle groups. In addition, they always have a rotating cadre of experienced teachers coming to London and it is wonderful to be able to learn from them as well.

When I began learning tango, I very quickly realized its not like any other dance, its highly technical (in terms of the physical aspect), there's a strong emphasis on musicality, in terms of various orchestras one needs to be knowledgeable about, to be a successful dancer, and the social nuances and rituals of a "Milonga". I tried various teachers for 6 months but was frustrated at my lack of progress. I'd heard of Leandro and his school as one of the best and decided to try it. Leandro as a dancer is highly accomplished, his knowledge of tango technique, music, and its history is extremely deep. I remember classes, being so absorbing that the 1.5hrs just flew by, it was a two way exploration into the dance encompassing all the aspects I have mentioned. The result was that I became alot more confident and competent as a tango dancer. Was a great investment in terms of time and money. I'd recommend it to anyone serious about learning tango properly.

I have taken many classes in LPTA and also attended the ladies styling workshops with Maria; they are very professional also very friendly. As a beginner sometimes it is hard to understand even basic steps but they are so patient and also very good to break things down to clearly explain without putting any stress or pressure on you. Since I met them I didnt look elsewhere to take tango classes as you feel it is not about money for them, it is the quality and creating a friendly atmosphere they are after. Attending their classes gives you a sense of belonging which I was looking for for a long time in the other tango places I have been. They provide uncompromising attention to musicality and technical detail. The instruction is always precise, insightful and timely without being patronising. Fantastic place to learn to tango. My wife and I went to the taster session (Free) at Notting hill and stayed on for the beginners class straight after. Ed and Ann our instructors made us welcome from the word go, and the lesson was full of encouragement and humour. The hour and a half flew by and we learned more in the time there than we have in many more hours at other venues. We were probably the oldest in the class by quite a bit, but it didn't matter at all. We had a great time and will be going on a regular basis. Gosh we even bought dancing shoes!!
