I would highly recommend this dance school. My daughter has been coming here since she was three years old and absolutely loves it. Kelly Clarey is a fantastic teacher who has really supported and inspired my daughter to work hard and develop her love of dance. She has taken lessons in ballet, contemporary, tap, jazz and modern, and has achieved good grades in her RAD exams. The shows that are produced every two years are always fantastic to watch as the enthusiasm and commitment of the students is obvious see and a testament to Kelly’s dedication.

Fantastic dance school led by a great teacher. My daughter has been going for almost 10 years and shows no signs of stopping. There is a good friendly atmosphere in the school between the students. They work hard toward their RAD grades every year. The February show is always an exciting time in the school with everyone on stage showcasing all the skills they learned.

I highly recommend this dance school, which offers ballet at all levels, jazz, contemporary, and tap. Classes range from preschool right through to beginner teens and adult ballet- beginner and advanced. Miss Clarey is an excellent, dedicated teacher who gets top results from her pupils in grading exams. Both my daughters have stayed at this dance school for several years, getting brilliant results, becoming beautiful dancers, and getting the opportunity to be in a large-scale show created by Miss Clarey every 2 years: an amazing experience they will never forget! There is a strong ethos of respect, discipline and professionalism at the school, but classes are still fun and enjoyable for all children. Sibling discounts and multi-class discounts are available, and parents are invited to watch every term so you can enjoy your child’s progress. Excellent ballet school!

This ballet school is amazing. We moved to this school a few years back and ive seen my daughter grow and achieve much more than she did in her previous school. Miss Kelly is a fantastic teacher who teaches with such passion and elegance. The school has a great atmosphere and it is great to be a part of it.

I moved to York last year looking for a dance school with the aim to get better at dance for Drama school auditions. I was very nervous and had virtually no dance experience at all. Kelly was the biggest help! Her quality of teaching is amazing and I found myself loving dance classes and looking forward fo coming in. My daughter attended Patricia Veale School of Dance from just under age 3. She absolutely loved her time there and took part in ballet, tap, contemporary, jazz & modern dance classes. She took RAD examinations in ballet with good grades. The highlight for her was performing in the shows this school produces every two years at Joseph Rowntree Theatre, fantastic productions by the school's teacher and principal, Kelly. Going to this amazing school was the highlight of every day for me growing up. I was taught discipline, respect and passion for the beautiful art form Ballet. Miss Kelly and her beautiful mother Patricia Veal were both more than a teacher to me. They showed me how to become the best possible version of myself. To work hard and never give up. After moving to their school from another at the age of 10, I soon had a place dancing at Louis brown Yorkshire ballet scholarship centre. At 16 I was awarded a scholarship to train at Northern Ballet School in Manchester. After 3 years of training I reached my ultimate goal of becoming a professionally dancer. I am now working for Celebrity Cruises as a production dancer and dance captain. Without the training and hard work from Miss Kelly and Miss Veale my dreams would never have become reality. Thank you for everything you and your mum did for me, words can’t describe how thankful I am for your never endless support, encouragement and love. Kelly is a great teacher and a dancer with a passion. Her ballet lessons include very detailed technique and impressions. Miss Veale was a wonderful teacher, and I missed her a lot like lots of dancers from York. Highly recommend.

Excellent school , Ms Clarey is an excellent teacher and teaches the children to be elegant and poised ! They have admiration for her and respect her ! My two children started when they were 4 and 5 years old , my youngest is now 12 and still attends 3 times a week with a spring in her step !!! It's an amazing school and I'm so glad I found it many many years ago !

Couldn’t recommend this dance school more I have been a student here for nearly 17 years and it’s just so much fun! The quality of teaching from Kelly is second to none and if you are wanting first class training to help you progress to vocation school then Patrica Veale is the school for you!

Excellent, professional, well structured classes. The right balance of technique, exams & fun. I like how this school isn't constantly trying to put on shows every 5 minutes which can be costly & deviate from the actual training. They put on one extremely high quality show every 2 years, with a well managed, well thought out schedule and team. I wouldn't send my child anywhere else!
