I was really nervous about my treatment and needed some questions answering. I had an appointment with Dr Daniel Saund, and he answered my questions in an understanding, kind and informative way. This dental hospital really wants best for their patients and that was very easy to see when I came to visit. Dr Daniel Saund is probably one of the best oral surgeons /dentists I have met, thanks.

Nice and clean, spacious and light with very polite helpful staff. No long waits if you have an appointment. Lifts as well as stairs. Plenty of parking undercover with blue badge parking bays. You pay on the way out, charge depends of length of time, you are photographed on the way in and out of you haven't paid. Beware; if you travel through Birmingham yo will have to pay an £8.00 Clean Air Charge which you can do before or after your appointment (hospital advise you to pay after your appointment just in case it's cancelled as the charge is non-refundable). Blue badge owners have free parking, to get this you go to the go to the main reception and show photographic evidence of you badge, your badge in your car windscreen and your car number plate. They give you a ticket which you scan at the pay machine.

Absolutely outstanding. Starting a month ago,with outrageous toothache, my dentist sadly couldn't remove the roots of the tooth that was causing the problem,although they did remove the bridge and crown but the pain wS to much to get the roots out then. Was assessed at the dental hospital firstly in the evening Absolutely brilliant registrar explained what needed to be done was very caring and reassuring in the way she deliverd the information. Then from the start to finish of having the procedure done the following day the dentist and assistants were so caring and calming,and knowing that there would be some discomfort at some point I felt very comforted in their confidence and capability to get the problem solved. Just wanted them to know that I think how and what they did was outstanding to a high level of care compassion and expertise. To say that I had to ask if it was all done because I hadn't been caused any more anxiety or pain and I had stitches aswell,tells you all you need to know. Truly thankful for the very personal and caring way I was treated absolute brilliant. I wish all the staff and students at the hospital all the best with their futures,if everyone can get half wY to how I felt through the whole session,then something that is not the nicest thing to have to do is made a whole lot better. You are superstars..

I took my daughter to her appointment to see if she will be having braces staff were very friendly and welcoming and polite they have a big car park it was free to park and a small cafe and the dental hospital was lovely and clean the young lady that my daughter was seen by was very professional

( As a visitor ) Compared to the old hospital 100x better Nice clean light and modern parking is now pay when you leave £1.50 hr ish you have to enter your registration. Canteen on top floor good value (IMO) breakfast £2.50 .

I had my Wisdom tooth extracted. Everyone was lovely at the hospital, very friendly. They were caring, kind and patient and very attentive.They made sure I was comfortable before, during and after treatment as I was really nervous. They put me at ease. They were really patient with me and took time to listen to my concerns. And I'm glad they let a family member inside while they treated me. That made me feel more relaxed, having someone I know next to me. The extraction of wisdom tooth was quick. I'm just glad its over and I'm out of pain. Highly recommend Birmingham Dental Hospital.

Fantastic team, student dentist are amazing with kids. Carnt speak for all the dentists but customer service and care is above and beyond!! Clean place, friendly, modern great food too. Toilets are available and waiting around doesn't happen that much.

I visited Birmingham Dental Hospital on Thursday as an emergency patient, having experienced severe pain for several weeks. Due to Covid19 my normal dentist was unable to see me due to the lack of PPE and Government guidelines. I instigated the visit through a call to 111, who initially said I could wait up to 6 hours for a call from the Hospital and they may not be prepared to see me. Within 15 mins I was called by a really helpful lady who took all my details and confirmed an appointment for later in the day. On arrival at the Hospital I was greeted by 2 really helpful nurses who explained the procedures. After having an xray and consultation by webcam it was confirmed I needed to have an extraction straight away. The procedure was carried out by a dental surgeon called Neil and dental nurse Katrina, both whom were very reassuring, friendly and professional. I can honestly say they were amazing, I did not feel a thing, the extraction was very quickly carried and everything explained throughout. It was a difficult extraction being next to 2 dental implants, yet these remained totally intact and I had no bleeding or swelling after. The following day I would not even know anything had been carried out. I cannot thank all the staff enough from the initial greeting at reception right through to leaving the hospital, the staff are all amazing and a credit to the NHS....thank you so much for taking away my awful pain!

I cannot thank the staff here enough, every single person from security & reception to dentist was kind, helpful, efficient... The whole set up was very well organised with minimal waiting times and felt very covid safe in all areas of the hospital. I was referred by 111 and seen as an emergency case for an extraction. During the procedure everything was explained to me and I was regularly asked if I was ok or had any pain etc. It was a really pleasant experience and I cannot recommend them enough!

Had my two lower wisdom teeth extracted last Monday (14/01/19) and I am healing nicely. Still a bit swollen and sore but I couldn't thank Professor Thomas Dietrich enough. An amazing dental surgeon, along with his colleague who also carried out the procedure. Had an amazing nurse who helped keep me calm and reassured me. I have been suffering from pain last 3 months. Was reffered to hospital as my dentist is unable to source the cause of pain. Every member of staff i went past by acknowledged me and gave me a smile. All staff were very helpful and welcoming. I was seen by Dr Aliya who made me feel at ease straight away. Dr Ahmed also seen me and i will be returning here in 2 weeks. After having an extraction at a different practice on Monday that wasn't successful, I experienced the most amazing treatment at the Birmingham Dental Hospital to help remove the rest of the tooth. I have just moved here so didn't yet have my own dentist here- I went through an emergency appointment and found it to be such a smooth process. Every member of staff from the receptionists to the dentists and dental nurses were thorough and efficient. Particularly the dentist who performed the extraction he was fantastic, I couldn't be more thankful.

It took a while to get the initial appointment and another couple of months for an appointment to do the work, so I attended on the 10th October 2019 to have two difficult extractions and I have to say that the dentist and both of the students were wonderful from start to finish. The dental student did most of the work with constant guidance from the dentist and did an excellent job from the local anaesthetic to the stitches that were needed after the extractions. I went here four weeks ago for upper right extraction, my tooth was in very poor condition all breaking up. It was a difficult job to remove the endodontist was very good at his job, I had a dull ache for several days afterwards because it was a difficult extraction, he had to crack the tooth to help remove it. It's all cleared up now and healed up. One little note for anyone out there who are having a tooth extraction especially a molar, the blood clot breaks down eventually and although the gum should have healed by then, this now becomes a food trap. Suggest that 48 hours afterwards you use a small syringe with warm salt water to squirt out trapped food. Otherwise it will get infected.

I have terrible anxiety when it comes to visiting the dentist, but everyone at BDH was so professional and comforting. I felt reassured and well informed at every stage of my visit, and the staff were very empathetic and non-judgemental, which is something I feel other dentists have lacked and has deterred me from going back in the past. I'd been in agony for three weeks with an abscess during covid-19 while my dentist was closed. I went to a private dentist twice to be prescribed antibiotics that only helped temporarily. I was referred here and the whole process was so smooth and efficient. I had a call back from them 2 hours later and my root canal procedure was all done 2 hours after that. Within 4 hours of being referred I was all done. I'm terrified of needles but the dentists were so quick, I hardly had any time to overthink or work myself up over it and all of this while still being attentive. It's the next day now and I can already feel the relief from the abscess and the pain has subsided. With very minimal options during the pandemic and the fear of my infection spreading to another part of my body, I'm very grateful and thankful for the Birmingham dental hospital.

I had a wisdom tooth taken out this morning at 9am and the dentist and his assistant were fantastic. I was terrified to go for my appointment but they constantly put me at ease. The procedure lasted about 35/40 mins including anaesthetic and stitches, then I was out. I am struggling a bit now as the anaesthetic has wore off but that is to be expected. Thoroughly excellent service and recommended to anybody suffering with tooth problems.

Went here on Tuesday 13th after 2 weeks of tooth ache you can't just turn up but if you phone 111 they might be able to get in on the same day. I don't like dentists (which is why I have not been to one in 17 years) . From the moment you enter the building the staff are brilliant the dentist reassured me and explained everything to me. I had tooth pain and had swelling, called 111 and was referred to dental hospital. Its a very nice building and i have to say the customer service levels here are 5 star. Especially Kyle and Zara who were very attentive and reassured me/made me feel at ease.

Since attending both the previous building and the new one, have no complaints or problems whatsoever and have lost my fear of dentists I am so proud of UK NHS. Thank you. Would have given five stars but have had difficulty trying to contact reception to cancel appointment in the past due to heavy cold and felt that was unfair to student. I came to the Dental Hospital emergency service because I was in a lot of pain with an infected wisdom tooth. I showed up at about 8am, which was later than I'd been recommended to go, but I was still able to get a ticket for the afternoon. I came back at half 12 ready for the 1:30 registration time, and I was able to register very quickly and easily (the man on reception even updated my home address for me, which I hadn't been able to figure out how to do myself). My boyfriend and I had expected a very long wait, so we'd brought books, but we were seen within two hours, which we were very glad about. The dentist who treated me and his students were all highly professional, patient and thorough. They were easily the best dentists I've ever had, and I've needed a lot of dental treatment over the years. I was especially impressed with the dental students, who seemed really passionate about what they do. The building itself was clean and surprisingly modern on the inside. It made me want to find out more about dental school, and this is coming from someone who is totally grossed out by just normal teeth. I was being pretty rude to the people who were treating me, and I feel really bad about it now. I wanted to thank you for your amazing service, and apologise for the way I was behaving. I was in a lot of pain and really disappointed that I wasn't able to have my tooth removed on the day, but that wasn't your fault. The treatment you provided instead seems to have worked well, and I'm in less pain today. Additionally, you explained very clearly and professionally how to go about getting the next stage of treatment. I hope I will be able to have my surgery at the Dental Hospital, because it's the best! thank you! :)

This fantastic environment with top class dentists is marred by 2 of the reception staff. I was given a preliminary appointment date which I was told i could change nearer to the date if needed. But when I phoned up to change the date because I started a new job I was told by the receptionist that I can't rebook it - point blank. I really needed this help but he sounded as though he couldn't really care less. I had previously spoken to a female on the phone there with the same attitude.

My dentist made an emergency appointment for me for 10.30am wednesday and although I had to wait beyond this time I was quite willing to wait. The receptionist on arrival was very pleasant. Both the dentists and the nurse I saw for my initial treatment were very efficient. I was directed to X ray and the receptionist and the radiographer were very efficient and pleasant. Unfortunately the gentleman who was able to do the treatment I needed was on holiday and when he returns the backlog of patients would mean I will have to wait about 5 weeks to see him. I was given antibiotics and a mouthwash to help and both of the consultant dentists were very sympathetic and understanding. I may be going to the Queen Elizabeth hospital ,ENT for the treatment I need but was very happy with the treatment that I received at the Dental hospital.

Super impressed! My Fiancé has been experiencing pain in his wisdom teeth for the past two months. Managed to get an emergency appointment by calling 111. Although we were there from 9:00 until 1:30 (it's super busy and we expected to there to be delays) we had the best experience in terms of treatment and professionalism. (treatment - X-ray, analysis and 2 teeth extractions) Resorted some of my faith in the NHS, and the opt was carried out by 2 students and their tutor.

Fantastic first experience, I was nervous as I was expecting extraction due to a cracked tooth, but my consultant Harry gave me a lot of very useful and realistic information for me to make my decision not to, thankyou! Got there at 8.45am, was advised I'd be seen from 9.15am onwards. Grabbed a coffee, then straight in at 9.15am. Excellent once you have an appoitment. You have to be persistent though if in pain i called eveyday asking about callenlations to get an erlier assesment appoitment. Finally they looked at my tooth Wednesday and decided it needed to come out. Waiting times were long but they make you aware of this in the letter. Earliest appointment for removal was 4 weeks away! This would of left me in pain for over 12 weeks! I asked them again if there were any cancellations to call me thinking nothing of it. Julie called on Friday for that day! (Shes a life saver) the procedure was as pleasant as it could be the dentist was excellent and really put me at ease she was very professional and you've saved me weeks of agony! I have had absolutely loads of work done at the dental hospital, all in all it took 9 years from my initial consultation, all the way through to my treatment! I was back and forth like a yoyo, having all different types of surgery on my mouth. The longest I ever had to wait was 3 hours, on floor 6 waiting to see the consultant, however when they started the practical work, I never had to wait over an hour and was treated with nothing but respect! They put all of their effort into their work and it has definitely reflected with the work they have done for me! Thanks guys! :-)

My experience here is outstanding. First appointment I was see by a very attractive young male, who was very informative and friendly. My second appointment was with a beautiful polite and professional female called Miss Amarjot Kaur, a student dentist. I am at my first appointment for a root canal. I should have a further one or maybe two more procedures. No pain after my first appointment as the work done was so precise and carefully performed. I would recommend this place to everyone. Had some early issues in my treatment. but they acted speedily to resolve these - and the treatment from the senior consultant has been superb. Easy to access site with good parking close to the building and friendly and helpful reception and support staff.

Had to visit here after my 7 year old son knocked about both his front adult teeth. We'd first been to our local A&E, who after checking over our son sent us to our local dentist, who then advised us to go to the Dental Hospital. Because of the nature of his injury and his age, we were seen straight away. The staff were brilliant, especially David, the dentist who treated my son. They were professional, polite, and did a great job at putting a very distressed boy, and his parents at ease. They managed to reassert his teeth, and fix them in place, which neither the doctor at A&E or our local dentist managed to do. It's too early to say whether they've saved my son's teeth (with this type of injury only time will tell), but I can not praise them more highly.

Had to phone Birmingham dental hospital to chase up a letter they were supposed to send back to my daughter's dentist following an appointment there. I spoke to a man called Trevor who was very helpful over the phone and called me back later that day and left a message on my answerphone to say it had been sorted out.

I had the unfortunate experience of toothache whilst on holiday this week , looked online and found the dental hospital , took the advice of the other reviews and turned up early (645 am) , doors opened at 730am , the first 15 ppl are seen in the morning , same in the afternoon , unlucky if ure no16 in the queue ! registration is from 9am , was pretty slow , saw the dentist about 10am , was taken for an xray then back into the waiting room , dental nurse came out , took me upstairs to the "oral surgery" room and thats where i found out myself i was getting a tooth out , perhaps a little more communication would have been better ! saw dentist who told me a student would take the tooth out , tooth got extracted very easily with no problems at all , staff very , very nice . Overall experience i would say is be prepared for a long wait , i was 5 hrs from start to finish , but as you are getting it free of charge , well worth it ! It's about time Birmingham had a new decent dental hospital than that old creepy, abandoned and haunted looking one. But however there needs to be a bigger improvement in COMMUNICATIONS and the ones communicating must be educated and KNOW THEIR JOB incase of misleading! And last the thing you want is to have someone left on the phone line for over an hour!

Omg totally different experience than the Dental Hospital that used to be in the City of Birmingham. Very clean & welcoming. Coffee shop is a touch expensive. £2 for a Latte that doesn't taste anything like a Latte. Also bit of a walk if you come by bus. Overall very impressed with this place.
