I joined Christchurch dental practice last year after researching the local area for a good dentist for a few weeks. I chose Christchurch because of the brilliant reviews about customer service and professionalism of all the staff ! I was not disappointed ! It is a lovely warm friendly personable practice. Kind, reassuring staff. Prompt and thorough care with great treatment plans given. Derek is the most caring, highly skilled dentist I have ever come across who goes above and beyond to take care of his patients. Personally looking after me with my wisdom teeth issues and worries which I very much appreciate. I am a very nervous patient and I have plans made to restore my smile with Derek with implants and veneers which I very much look forward to as I know I am in great hands. Excellent experience - 10/10. I had wanted to do Invisalign for some time and after a bit of research in the Ipswich area, I decided to go with Christchurch Dental in November 2019. Eighteen months later - I have finished my treatment today and I could not be happier with the results. Derek and the rest of the staff at the practice were so supportive, flexible and professional throughout my treatment. I moved to London halfway through my Invisalign, which I was anxious about in terms of keeping up with my treatment, but the team at Christchurch could not have been more supportive, and advised me that they would always work around you, which I was so grateful for. If you are even debating whether to get Invisalign, 1. Just go for it - you won't regret it if you have the means, and 2. I would thoroughly recommend going with Christchurch dental.

10 years ago I visited the Christchurch Dental Practice…due to emergency treatment required but never returned only due to my high anxiety, Fobia and Tears of Fear etc. of all Dentists. Following Pressure from Family and Friends who want to hear me laugh and see me smile again, I am now attending this lovely Practice for much needed dental treatment.. yes, I wish I had gone back 10 years ago..Due to a welcoming and reassuring call from Gabi (apologies for the tears, Gabi) with an awesome plan of action/treatment agreed at the start…. I shall be attending my 6th treatment. My anxiety issues are now at level 3 out of 10 due to “Baby steps” taken, quoting Dr. Ashvin, my reassuring Practitioner. By the way, Gemma and Brogan, I am soo sorry i squeezed your hand soo tightly during my treatment …….and the odd tear of fear….! It is the welcoming smiles from the lovely Team, Rebecca and Chloe in Reception….and a “hello” from Dr Derek …whilst I sit in the waiting room, discreetly glancing now and then at the exit door, that I return for my treatments. No matter how complicated your treatment will be, allow me to highly recommend a call, please don’t wait for pain to occur (especially when you are on holiday abroad). Christchurch Dental are the best dentists I have ever been to. Derek and the team make you so welcome and it feels like a truly personal experience. Recently I had a root filling from the mid 80's refilled and a crown fitted by Derek. It's one of those things that I wonder why I hadn't had done so much sooner, guess I was worried refilling wasn't possible and I didnt want to lose the tooth. Well I can safely say getting this root refill and crown was one of my better decisions. The root filling wasn't the easiest for Derek as there was a broken implement in one of the roots, from when it was first filled in the mid 80's. I think getting that implement out made Derek's day, I know it made mine. The whole team at Christchurch always go out of their way to put the patient first and are always a pleasure to deal with.

I am a new patient at Christchurch Dental and I am also a VERY nervous one. From the very start, my hour long first visit was amazing. Derek and Becs, his lovely assistant, carried out a very thorough examination, nothing like I’ve ever had before at previous Dentists. They made me feel calm and comfortable, not doing anything until they explained to me what they were going to do every step of the way. I have a very painful and troublesome tooth, Derek advised me of all my options and explained, in detail, what they were, even drawing a picture for me so I could understand what my problem was and what can be done. I have opted for a Crown with sedation in a months time and I am actually looking forward to going back at the end of March to have the procedure done. Never thought I’d EVER say I’m looking forward to going to a Dentist! I may actually keep up regular visits instead of only going when I absolutely have to! The practice is clean and bright and they adhere to strict hygiene procedures from the moment you walk through the door. As a new patient I was very happy with all the staff and the service provided by Christchurch Dental Practice. My only regret is that I never registered earlier. Everyone is very friendly, helpful and, being very nervous of the dentist, everyone was so understanding and did their best to reassure me. As I hate high-pitched sounds, Derek very kindly put himself out to provide me with headphones and some great music while I needed to see the hygienist for a clean up. Visiting Ipswich, just one day before a holiday to Japan, on a Friday afternoon, I had a dental emergency when part of a tooth supporting a crown broke off. The exceptional and friendly receptionist found an appointment for me on the Saturday morning and Derek was able to carry out the necessary repair work in time for me to catch the flight later that afternoon. I am extremely pleased to have joined this Practice. My husband had a tooth which needed to be extracted and was causing a lot of pain. Our previous dentist put a referral in to a specialist clinic in Foundation St. After 6 months an appointment was made to remove the tooth, only to be told this could not be done because the clinic did not have a burr to cut the bridge attached to the tooth. After taking advice from a friend (a retired dentist) this Practice was recommended. My husband had a consultation with Ashvin the next day and the tooth was removed the following day. What a relief particularly as lockdown happened very shortly. I have also joined the Practice and had a tooth extracted by Asvin and we both have had hygienist appointments with Laura. We have had excellent care from both Ashvin and Laura and would highly recommend them both.

I have been a happy and satisfied client for many many years and have just had to have metal dentures made. First class and friendly service from Ash(Dr Ashvin Babbar) who has taken great care to ensure a correct and comfortable fit. Thank You. 19/03/21 I stand by my last review but unfortunately my experience yesterday was not so good. I arrived on time and then had to wait 50 minutes in a draughty but covid free waiting room before I was seen. It was a routine appointment for a dentist and an hygienist. I never saw the dentist nor did my wife with a similar appointment. We have paid for private dental treatment for many years at this practice.

After calling around every possible local dentist to no avail, I Called 111 to confirm that I had an abscess, they then referred me to Christchurch dental surgery for a telephone consultation, after calling and leaving a message I had to await a call back, which didn’t take as long as I was expecting, the man I spoke to (forgot to get his name) was incredibly helpful and seemed to actually want to help me, which I was really appreciative about as all the others were really unwilling to help despite being my local ones, he prescribed me the antibiotics I needed and had it sent to my local pharmacy here in needham market, a minor hiccup happened somewhere as the pharmacy said they never received and after another phone call he told me he had called them direct to sort it out and that it will be there ready within half an hour! Cannot thank him enough for his services, helpfulness and even the care he had for me, even if it was just over the phone! Note- moved just prior to lock down and cannot register with any dental practise till after and my usual one is back in Essex!

Once inside the service was, as always, excellent. However, making patients wait outside in the wind and rain is not good. Whilst I appreciate the current restrictions it would not be difficult to install a "smokers" shelter were the cycle station is so that, even with social distancing, two people could at least stay dry.

Some people might not want to know but it's is important that I am not just sitting in the chair with my mouth wide open! - Professional and courteous - Latest technologies - you don't feel like that you are being seen from someone in the dark ages! - Follow-up care: perhaps one of the most important aspect - I never feel that I am left alone after an important procedure. My entire family goes to see him. If that's not a positive testimony I don't know what is!
