Having not been to the dentist since before the pandemic I was a little nervous at being quite so close to people and was equally as apprehensive as my teeth have taken a battering during 2 years of not being seen. Needed to visit Liam as a filling had dropped out, although I thought I’d chipped a tooth. Liam assured me from the expats he’d taken when I joined the practice as a patient a few months before that it was an old filling that had dropped. I’d forgotten I had this done at least 20 years ago at a previous dentist. In 10 mins Liam had a temp filling in place and I walking out out having arranged a new appointment for a perm filling to be managed. Great job and everyone at the practice is so friendly! I have been with Finkle for a number of years now and always found them professional and friendly. They provide a high quality service at what is a fair price....albeit I rarely need much more than a check and polish. I would have given 5 stars were it not for a niggle that doesn't seem to improve. No matter what time of day my appointment is, it will always start 10-15 minutes late and without apology. I would ask that the staff look into this.

I was referred here by my dentist in Selby for Root Canal treatment on an upper molar; I gather this is a specialist job. I cannot speak highly enough about Mr Matthew Gahan who treated me, ably assisted by Angelika (I think that is right?)... Matthew ran me through exactly what the procedure involved, he was kind, confidence inspiring, thorough and in my opinion, highly skilled. Anaesthetics have moved on SO far over the years... with a topical pre anaesthetic and then an injection, I genuinely didn't feel at all... I Loved the shield which covers the whole mouth, only exposing the tooth that surgery is being performed on.. It allows you to keep breathing and swallowing normally throughout the procedure. After the apppointment I went straight home and had breakfast with no pain... The anaesthetic was obviously EXACTLY right... It numbed the tooth but not the side of my face for the rest of the day. Brilliant; Thanks Matthew; I look forward to seeing you again!

In such wierd times I've not been going out so felt a bit anxious about visiting the dentist. I need not have worried the hygienist I'd not met before was understanding that I'm a nervous patient and was reassuring me all the time. I had my headphones on listening to music and felt very calm. Finkle Hill Dental is an excellent dental practice. From regular check ups to cosmetic treatment they have it all covered. Cliff has recently brought in technology that means patients can have their porcelain crowns made on site with no need for a second visit. His staff are delightful and his practice has a very relaxed feel about it. I would recommend it highly.

When I first went to Finkle Hill and met my new dentist, Cliff (it's so friendly you are all on a first name basis) I hadn't visited a dentist for 5 years because I was at rock bottom low with my panic attacks. I was barely going out and just going in was a huge step for me. All the staff were so friendly and understanding. This was three years ago and with the help and support of everyone there, including having a prescription for medication for long appointments for much needed dental attention, I don't dread going in anymore. Having been in absolute pain and booking a same day emergency pain appointment I was made to feel at ease and comfortable the dentist and his helper both were very understanding after reading my notes they took me seriously and I was not made to feel silly like others have made in the past I had a tooth extraction which did not go as easy as he hoped but talked to me during the whole 25 minutes I would highly recommend them to any phobic nervous anxious patients Thank you so much 😬

Great practice with top quality staff who are knowledgeable, caring and professional. Positioned in the middle of the ever growing village of Sherburn on the outskirts of Leeds and close to York the surgery recently had a contemporary makeover that looks great. Not sure if the surgery are accepting any NHS patients at the moment as I'm private but I can highly recommend them.

Highly recommend for extremely nervous new patients Having previously only ever experienced 1970s inner city school dentistry/butchery which unsurprisingly put paid to any subsequent visits, to say I was somewhat apprehensive is a massive understatement. I was terrified but in so much pain (toothache for four months) that I eventually plucked up courage and went to see Stephen. He was very sympathetic and immediately put me at ease(ish). Due to 40 odd years of total neglect I needed lots of treatments. Over several weeks I’ve had two root canals, an extraction, fillings, crowns and lots of tidying up etc and I’m now sorted! I can honestly say that the fear of pain is far, far worse than any actual pain. After my initial toothache problem was addressed I could easily have stopped any subsequent treatments but by then I had confidence in Stephen and completed all my treatment plan. Before each treatment started he explained everything he was going to do, any noises that were expected and everything about the procedure. He puts some magic gel stuff on your gums so you can’t feel the needle, and once the anaesthetic kicks in, you just open your mouth, close your eyes and let him get on with it, occasionally doing a thumbs up when asked if everything’s ok. I would urge anyone who’s nervous to go and see Stephen. It’s really not as bad as your long standing outdated fear is. Once again, mahoosive thanks to Stephen and all the team at Finkle Hill Dental Care.

I was recomended to go to Finkle Hill by my inlaws as i had just moved to the York area. I was examined by Cliff. He was extremely professional and very polite and put me straight at ease. He explained what treatment I needed , why I needed it and what my best opptions were. After my initial consultation i made two appiontments for further treatment but was told to phone them if i was in any pain.I did this as my pain returned the next day and was seen within 2 hours of my call. The treatment was carried out to solve my immediate pain and I am now waiting for my next appointments. I would not hesitate in recomending Finkle Hill to anyone .
