I went to Dr Dillon Patel for fixed appliances / braces in order to straighten my teeth for my wedding. He did a wonderful job. I would highly recommend Dr Patel as he was warm and approachable and explained things really clearly. I have visited Pickering Dental Surgery twice in the last few weeks and have to say how impressed I have been with the service , especially in these trying times. Both times I was greeted at the reception by friendly , welcoming staff . I felt safe and secure and there were lots of "covid precautions" in place, the waiting area had lots of screens , my temperature was taken on arrival and i had to fill in a Covid questionnaire , I was then escorted to the surgery by a nurse and I watched her clean the hand rail and door handles once I had got up to the dentist room where I was being seen. My first visit was with Dentist kevin who after giving me a check up as I was suffering with pain from a broken tooth explained that I would need some extractions and would need to come back , he was very gentle and made me feel at ease. My visit today was for an extraction with the dentist named Damian Pieries. I am a very nervous patient and from the moment I entered his room he made me feel at ease , both his nurse and himself were so nice to me and Damian explained everything to me and what was going to happen , he did not rush me and asked me on numerous occasions if I felt ok. . The procedure was a lot less stressful than I anticipated and I can only applaud Damian for this. Before I left he explained to me what I should do for aftercare and gave me a sheet to take home. I feel that our NHS dental surgeries have been given a hard time by patients and the press and I can only say that what I have experienced here has been amazing and I think that Pickerings and their staff are all working so hard and trying to help as many patients as they can during these new measures , keep up the good work and I applaud you all.

Paid significantly more for the WY10 HP6 teeth whitening gel at Pickering Dental Surgery compared to another practice. Flagged it up and really happy with how things were dealt with by Stephanie. Also when I first ordered the whitening trays they had to be sent back, but apart from this (visited a few times for check-ups and scale & polish) experiences were very good!

OK its a 3 star because of a very very rude Lady who works there. I am not sure of her role but she was wearing black and i can recall her name being ROMINA or something along those lines. in her words she openly said 'I cant be bothered' all because I was trying to explain to her that I had paid a fee prior to my second visit. I mean I understand that it is a busy period but you should never come to work if you can't be bothered. I work for the NHS too and not once I would openly say that to a patient. There was no eye contact, she was huffing and stamping her feet on the stairs like a toddler. She needs serious training on her communication skills. Apart from that, the dentist was lovely and the other ladies at reception were lovely people. Blonde lady and lady with dark hair who greeted me but can't recall their names.

I honestly cannot recommend this dental practice enough! It is amazing. It was initially recommended by a friend who raved about it and I've done the exact same thing since my treatment too! My dentist Dylan is a miracle worker, he is able to put you at ease and after having a filling and root canal, I can honestly say he was brilliant! I felt no discomfort during or after the treatment and at points (dare I say) it was almost relaxing! If you need the dentist, this is the place to go!

I have been going to Pickering for over four years now. I cannot recommend them enough. The receptionists are always friendly and nice. The various dentists that I have seen over the years have been amazing. They've always informed me about anything that's happening every step of the way. They work with such care and skill that you feel virtually no pain when getting treated. Special mention to Dilan who has in recent years become my go to dentist. He always greets you with a smile on his face and puts you at ease if your feeling nervous. Would highly recommend you ask to see him if for example your someone who is nervous about going to see a dentist. Whether your registered here or not you are able to walk in and see a dentist on the same day for a check up. The waiting times may sometimes be long for some but that is only because Pickering is so highly appreciated by many.

I highly recommend this place. I've been coming here for a few years now and have seen a few dentists. Most recently I was treated by Dilan who did numerous bits of work including some cosmetic treatment. I must say I was thoroughly impressed, not only was the cosmetic treatment very good, he made me feel at ease throughout. I felt he was very honest with his opinion, especially when he insisted that the NHS treatment would suffice despite having a private (more expensive) options to choose from. Unlike other dentists I have experienced, who I feel are sometimes trying to get their hands in my pockets. I will definitely be sticking with him in the future, but I must say all the other dentists that have treated me here are also good.

Today I have been there and it has to be the best dental clinic I have ever been to. The receptionists were not too nice to be honest, except for Stephanie (I think that's her name) who I assume is the eldest lady there. This is a fantastic dental practice. Private and walk in NHS. You might have to wait a while if you walk in but its worth it. Dental staff are lovely and don't rip you off. The only dental practice I trust because they try to save your teeth instead of trying to persuade you to have unnecessary expensive cosmetic procedures. Highly recommend.

This is a wonderful practice that really cares about their patients. They are extremely popular but the staff at reception always try their best! I saw Dr Phil Sterrett here, and he recommended a course of treatment, outlined different payment options and helped me to finance it through a loan - I paid no interest over a year and managed to get a procedure I had needed to get for years. If you are a nervous patient, give this surgery a try - it has helped me enormously!

Had to use them twice now as a drop in as fillings had come out. Didn't have to wait long on both visits. Felt treatment better-than I receive from my own dentist I live 70 miles away, I work in Islington. Drop ins are charged at NHS rates and what was even better was that the dentist I saw today even cleaned my teeth as well as the filling I came in for as an emergency. Absolutely brilliant couldn't recommend enough, the Dentist I saw today was a Mr Ireland.

A friend recommended Pickering Dental Surgery. I had a bad toothache and just popped in on a Tuesday lunchtime. I was seen within 30 minutes and had a full check up and X Ray. The service was slick, professional and friendly. I returned a few days later for my treatment ( new filling and a clean ). The dentist I saw was great and my treatment was painless and quick. Now, I HATE going to the dentist but I wouldn’t hesitate to return to Pickering for my six month check up. I'd give five stars but i could never associate going to the dentist with " Loved it ".

Very good. Went there today having been getting the fear about going to the dentist for a while. I had a 45 minute wait, which considering I literally just walked in, was pretty good. This is a proper dentists. Clean, professional, nice staff, the dentists actually meet you in the reception, which is a good personal touch. I had Mr Ireland do my check up, nice convivial chap, reminded me a bit of Jim Robinson from Neighbours. £16. Did a bit of a clean up too all in. I hadn't been to a dentist for a couple of years and was expecting the worst but it was fine. I can either get what I need to have done on the NHS or privately. I'd happily recommend this surgery, it was very easy to be seen and you get a lot of confidence once its done.

Very good experience. I have a phobia of dentists, and found this Walk-In surgery to be one of the most comforting and easy experiences to date. I think this is mainly due to the dentist which I was given, he was friendly, supportive and quick. I think it's funny how the reviews are so mixed here, and a lot of them comment about the receptionists. I do believe the ladies on reception come across as a bit rude/short, but I can forgive this based on their environment, with it being so hectic and busy. Overall, great dentist that completely understands the patient's needs and requirements. Reception could be a little more friendly. Will definitely go again.

Friendly staff & good place to go to for both NHS & Cosmetic. I had Both Cosmetic & NHS procedures in the past 3 years & My Dentist, Dilan Patel, has been brilliant along the way with both procedures. He's very informative before, during & after, both procedures. I had both Bridge work replacement & Root Canal. He put me at ease throughout. The reception are very friendly and the premises are very clean. Location is situated on a busy, popular stretch of Angel, Islington. Not far from ANGEL tube station & lots of shops, bars, restaurants etc. You're definitely in good hands & reassurance with this practice. They are definitely better than my past dentist practice based in Hackney and Dilan really is the best dentist, I've ever had. By far! Very happy to be a patient at this practice. Oh and they have a walk in service. Be prepared to wait though, but its available too for emergencies.

I had a filling fall out while on a visit to London, and went to Pickering as a walk-in patient. Although there were a lot of people in line, I didn't have to wait too long and the dentist who saw me was very polite, efficient and professional. The office staff were very friendly as well. They are an NHS dentist, so I only had to pay the basic £18 charge to get x-rays done and a temporary filling put in. Couldn't be happier overall - they were there for me when I needed them, with the minimum of hassle. I definitely recommend them.

Phil at Pickering Dental Surgeries is an outstanding dentist. I am fearful of dentistry and as a result have needed a lot of conservation work in the three years he has been treating me. He is calm. He is methodical. He is prepared. He inspires trust. His interactions with his dental assistant sounds like (eyes closed!) seamless teamwork. This is confidence-inspiring when I am nervously on the couch. When he is treating me I feel I am in good hands. I have not once experienced pain (though of course, discomfort sometimes); there has never been any mishap; it always seems like clockwork. He is calm and confident. Crucially, Phil is friendly, listens well, and makes me feel like a person rather than a procedure. Other patients speak highly of other dentists in the practice, (including in these reviews). I went to Pickering when I had a dental emergency (they see you on the spot, but you will likely wait) and friends highly recommended them. I was assigned to Phil and really hit it lucky. Phil gives me reasons to smile. Phil is a really chilled dentist, who I reckon knows his stuff, and he is really attentive to my wellbeing. The receptionists are welcoming, knowledgeable and in control. I was struck by how high-tech they are, despite being in an old building; files and x-rays were reviewed online, and a referral to a hospital was done there and then during a consultation. What I most appreciate about the practice is that, though the dentists must have a huge transient clientele, I still get that valuable continuity of care. My overall impression is of a smooth operation, with a lot of talent, focused on health and wellbeing. I'm now discharged apart from a periodic check-up. Thanks!

I joined Pickering a few months ago. I had been looking for a nice clean and friendly dentist for a while and a friend suggested here. Luckily for me, I doubt I will ever need to move dentists again. My dentist, Zoriana and her lovely assistant Larisa are both superb. All the work I had done was completely pain free, relaxing and comforting when needed. I went in early in the morning to sort out an unhappy wisdom tooth. The dentist helping me, Damian Pieries, suggested removing it since it had been botherin me a while. He was extremely supportive with the anaesthetic and the extraction and within minutes it was out. Very much felt like he listened to me, cared about my concerns and helped me make the best decision. In general I have always been helped by top dentists and staff at Pickering!

A crown in molar fell out leaving it empty that I had to visit the dentist in emergency, and I was frightened at first but Pickering's staff and dentists were very welcoming and helpful! Had to wait for about an hour but treatment was prompt. And hygiene perfect as well.

I went to pickering today as I broke my front tooth at weekend and I was very upset about it. I went to the walking session and although it's always very busy I managed to see a dentist in half an hour. she was very gentle and managed to fix my front tooth immediately. I was very pleased as I was very nervous and I thought I may have needed to have a crown but the procedure was done under Nhs for £49 only. I thought I express my appreciation as from my experience, working in public sector, people only write reviews when they are unhappy and very rarely write when they are pleased! :-)

Been having confidence issues with my teeth for a while and visited a few dentists and was not bowled over by their advise. Everyone seemed to push for vaneers which I did not want at all. Anyway popped into Pickering which was ram packed but got seen within an hour. Maria said she could do some building up of my teeth and I started a few weeks later. I think two hours in the chair and I was bowled over by the results and the price wasn't as bad as I really feared and certainly value for money. On subsequent visits I had to wait for quite a while so if you go make sure if you're not seen with in 15 minutes go back to reception to make sure you are properly logged on system.. They just seem to be very very busy. A few other reviews have complained about grumpy staff at reception - I found them quite nice actually and they are just very very busy so no complaints there. my dentist was Maria who was lovely and did a great job.. My six front upper teeth were crooked, chipped and a mess really I don't know how she did but I'm pround of my chompers now..

If there are any other nervous patients out there do not worry; simply find out when KEVIN has his next 'walk-in' (Appointment not necessary) general check-up-day available. After 5 years of having an obvious gap in my smile and being told by other NHS dentists that my only option would be to have a plate, Pickerings fitted a bridge and filled the gap. It's about a year later and I have been really delighted with my new tooth and my new smile! It has made such a difference to my confidence. Generally, the practice is very friendly and non-judgemental. As I am currently in receipt of ESA and don't pay for my dental treatment at present, I have often found that I get 2nd class treatment in other NHS surgeries. This is very definitely not the case in this practice which means a great deal to me. Because it operates a drop-in for emergencies and check ups, you never have to worry that you won't get an appointment. I also highly rate the hygenist staff at the practice. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Went to this dentist based on it's reviews and they weren't lying!!! I went on a Wednesday which I think was a pretty busy day for them (I heard the receptionist say they had a popular dentist doing walk in's) so that is why it was busy. I waited maybe 30 mins until I was moved upstairs and then a further 10 minutes until I was seen - not bad for a walk in! I was really nervous, I had not been to the dentist for about 8 years and actually was let off with two filling replacements and that was all. I had to go back twice as he didn't want to numb to sides of my mouth at once. He was very quick and thorough and I didn't experience any major pain which was great. I ended up going private but you can do NHS too - and you don't feel pressurised at all to go private. I was able to go on a Saturday morning each time which was so handy so I didn't have to take time off work. Definitely recommend this dentist, especially for the nervous ones out there!

I joined Pickering 12 months ago via a recommendation and have been looked after by Marieh Akbarzadeh. I am quite fussy with my dentists given that my father is a retired dentist. Marieh is unequivocally the most professional and competent dentist I have seen in London. Plus what makes her stand out is her personal care and post treatment care. I have had a number of complex procedures done from crowning to root canal and the pain has been minimal due to Marieh's excellent stewardship. I would not hesitate to recommend Marieh as an exceptional dentist

Pickerings is professional & patient-focused. I entered the clinic at 9am and was with the doctor by 9:25am. Dr. Ole did my check up and even answered my follow up questions over the phone. The receptionists were friendly. I would recommend the clinic to my friends!

Gem of a place where you can get same day dental appointments- just turn up! Closed from 12.30-2.00pm though, which is annoying. Other than that, great service with NHS prices.

I have been a patient with Pickerings Dental Surgeries in Islington for over 10 years, and have been to loads of dental surgeries all over London and NONE compare. They are very professional, specialists, and work to a high standard...Amazing! I have dental fluorosis which is tooth enamel damage due to, too much fluoride in my local water, which leave a pigmentation on the teeth. Pickerings was able to give me my confidence back without taking any teeth out or having any extreme cosmetic dentistry done. My dentist MARIA is amazing she did 'cosmetic composite bonding' which covers the pigment and looks so natural its unreal. I was so happy with her fantastic work i actually cried, being able to smile and be confident again means a lot. Thank u Maria

I showed up at midday without an appointment, and not even registered at any dentist in the country. I'd been up all night in pain with toothache. I was seen pretty much straight away, diagnosed and given a 3pm appointment for the same day. By 3.30pm my wisdom tooth was removed. NHS at its best.

I broke a large back molar in half while chewing on chicken bone recently. I received excellent and speedy treatment from Damian Pieries at Pickerings in Upper Street in Islington, London. I was given an overlay rather than a crown which I understand is stronger than a crown, and longer-lasting. What's more I was able to eat properly without any discomfort after 90 minutes, and I am delighted with the result .

The dentist l see is Zoriana Oustianyk, l can't recommend her highly enough. The work she has done is highly superior to any other l've had done by other dentist's. She actually smoothed off work done by another dentist for free because it was ugly. From the first time l visited her l felt at ease, she is very friendly, calming and sincere. The work l had done was totally painless, she is very gentle, hands light as feathers. She explains everything to you, no rush, and will give alternatives. The work done was really good.I'm very pleased. It actually makes any other fillings l've had done by other dentist's in the past look poor. Wish l'd found her before. My fear of going to the dentist has gone, l can't believe it! A very high recommendation from me then, she'll make you feel relaxed and the work will be done painlessly and to a very high standard, Thank you Zoriana.

I really like this dentist, the receptionists can come across a bit rude at busy times but I feel if the dentist is good that all that matters,I found Zoriana really friendly and made my experience pleasant whereas I found some dentists can be rude and put you off from going. But I would definitely recommend Zoriana
