I'm a new (and very nervous!) patient here, and I've found the whole team to be absolutely fantastic. Nikki, Jo and Frances have all been truly exemplary, and have made me feel fully at ease throughout the whole process of becoming a patient with them, attending an appointment and receiving treatment. From my very first email to the team, Nikki and Jo have been so incredible at making me feel comfortable - the whole team have understood and asked about my needs, and have allowed me to take things at my own pace. Frances understood my anxiety perfectly and walked me through my checkup at a pace that worked for me - putting me in control of what happened and when. Nikki and Jo have been there throughout the process to help answer questions about my treatment and put my mind at ease, even when I've asked the same question over and over again. Because I'm such a nervous patient, I opted for sedation to help me through my treatment, and it made the whole experience so much easier to deal with. After my treatment I've been able to look at my teeth for the first time in years and not feel any kind of shame or guilt about how my smile looks - which is not something I've ever been able to feel before. While I've been put off by the cost of going private in the past, the level of care provided by Tavistock Dental was 100% worth it for me. After my first visit I was so excited to have found a dentist who actually listened to me - and it's truly the first time I've ever said I've been 'excited' about a dentist. If you're a nervous patient or have any kind of dental anxiety, the team here are incredible - a year ago I couldn't walk into a dentist's office without having a panic attack, and that has completely changed for me. I would highly, highly recommend giving them a go - finding this team has been a complete gamechanger.

I am a new patient at Tavistock Dental and I recently got a deep dental cleaning and a cavity filled. They were really lovely and made me feel really comfortable while waiting to be sedated. They check up on you before and after the appointment day, showing that they really care. The whole experience was really calm and for the first time going to the dentist was not painful.

Jo at Tavistock managed to get me in the dentist's chair within an hour of my call, and arranged a follow up just before Christmas too.. I highly recommend Tavistock dental! The care and service you receive is fantastic. Nicki is amazing and called me soon after I made my appointment. We talked through my concerns and she put me at ease straight away. On the day of my appointment, everyone was amazing! I was extremely nervous but the care and service I received was excellent. Dr Frances is truly amazing! She is very gentle and put me at ease within a few minutes. If you are a nervous patient like me, then this is the place to go! Everyone here will do their very best to look after you and to make sure you have a good experience.

I have a real fear of the dentist and have avoided going as much as possible over the years. I had to have a wisdom tooth extracted so you can imagine how nervous I felt but the entire team I had dealt with were so nice and reassuring. Ajinder was my dentist and Elena the dental nurse on this occasion and they were amazing - I did not feel a thing. They were super patient, answered all my questions and the procedure was no where near as bad as what I had built it up to be. The reception team are all super welcoming, understanding of your fears and super positive people. Nikki the receptionist followed up, and made me feel like I had really conquered my fear... and this week I really feel like I have! I have found a dental practice that I will actually return to which is a pretty big deal so I cant recommend them enough! Thanks Tavistock!

Even going in dentist makes me so nervous that my heart rate just goes high🥺 found this lovely dentist team. Frances is the best made me so comfortable and ensured me. I had sedation done for tooth removal and deep cleaning and it went so well. So comfortable and stress free. I am now still carrying on with Maya the hygienist where she is so gentle and making sure i am always ok, she is the best too. Well all the staff is the best. I got a chipped/cracked tooth and was very nervous about the visit to the dentist. I had a very bad experience many many years ago so had not been to the dentist since, and the state of my teeth is not good in general. Especially after hearing the words "root canal" during the initial consultation, I was petrified. However, I knew I had chosen the right dental practice from the start. Nikki and Dr Frances made sure to put my mind at ease, and I never felt I was being judged. Before the root canal treatment, Ioanna at the reception was very nice and helpful, both over the phone and in person. Christina, the nurse, was very sympathetic and kind. And Dr Adnan was very patient with all my questions and explained everything in detail. I did not go with sedation, but still did not feel any pain. The treatment was worth every penny. I would highly recommend Tavistock Dental! I will be going back to have the rest of the work on my teeth done.

January 2022 My dental phobia has had an impact on my life for 15 years. I was researching dentists in the middle of the night in November after not sleeping because of pain in my mouth and at 1 in the morning after reading reviews like this one I booked an appointment at Tavistock before I could change my mind. In my early twenties I’d had a bad experience with a dentist and never returned. Now in my mid-thirties I knew that something was wrong with my wisdom teeth but told myself that as long as my front teeth were okay I didn’t need to worry. Of course, this isn’t true when you have pain, bleeding gums, grind your teeth! Along with the pain, was the embarrassment that come with health avoiding behaviours; especially as I’m a health professional myself! I was sure that all dentists would judge me and tell me that there was nothing to be done. I was so incredible worried that I would be laughed at or told off. Of course, none of the this happened! I had a couple of telephone calls with the clinic to discuss the appointment and they were able to see me in the same week. When I arrived I think I was visible nervous but the environment is calming and the staff are very supportive. I saw Francis and she spent the time to get to know me and why I was anxious, the initial examination and X-rays were minimally invasive in my personal space and I felt really understood. The treatment plan required my wisdoms teeth to be extracted and in addition to treatment for gum disease. It was advised that I should have the extractions and a deep clean done under sedation and Nikki worked her magic on the schedule so that it could be done in about 4 weeks time. The cost of treatment was fully explained and I left the dentist with an enormous sense of relief. The amount of treatment needed did mean the cost was substantial, but I also hadn’t spent any money on dentists in 15 years! And to be in a calm environment and not feel judged is priceless! On the day of treatment I was dropped off by my chaperone and I remember getting the cannula in my hand, then not much else!! My treatment lasted about 2.5 hours and there was one moment where I was aware of what was happening and I raised my hand and Cristina the dental nurse immediately noticed. I think they may have given more drugs after that as I don’t remember anything else apart from getting in the taxi home with my partner. My partner was worried about me being sedated and in pain, but he has said that the whole team were really nice and gave good explanation of the aftercare I needed. The recovery was as described, I had regular pain relief, a soft diet and plenty of salt washes! All of this occurred two days before Christmas and I was able to celebrate the New Year by eating pain free and no longer worrying about what was happening to my teeth. I have some other treatments to go in February and I’m still nervous but no longer avoidant. If you are reading this in the middle of the night like I was, please book and appointment or ask to speak to Nikki/Jo, you really won’t regret it.

I truly recommend This Dentist Practice especially if you are a highly nervous person like myself! The whole team are excellent, special thanks to Nikki who actually got me in to the practice with her kind guidance and reassurance! Day before Christmas Eve I wanted to book an appointment for my husband who had not visited a dentist for 30 years. I spoke to the lovely receptionist Nikki who honestly gave the best customer service that I can remember since as far back as the 1960’s. It was like I had stepped back in time. If you are a nervous/anxious/dental phobia patient the the team at Tavistock are exceptional. I had a couple of bad experiences in the past with dentists which put me off going, and I became genuinely terrified of even contacting a dentist, it took me a year to fill out the form on their website for a call back. My inital call was with Jo who listened to me and it sounds like such a small thing but being able to just openly talk about the issues felt like a relief. I even became upset on the phone when discussing my needs and she could not have been kinder or more understanding. On my first visit I was visbly nervous, so to keep my mind occupied both Nikki and Jo chatted with me prior to the appointment. I had my appointment with Dr Frances, the most patient dentist I have ever met, we had a conversation regarding exactly what was wrong with my teeth, during the examination she paused multiple times so that it wasn't all go go go. Then Nikki took me for a scan/xray, calmly explaining what we were doing and why, at every point I was kept informed. Once I had the conversation with Dr Frances regarding the next steps for me, I was taken to Nikki's office for a full breakdown, including costs. Due to needing a number of things done, coupled with how nervous I am, sedation was offered for all of my appointments. Which took a huge chunk of my anxiety away! Yesterday I had my second apppointment which was my most extensive, teeth extractions. Prior to the appointment Nikki & Jo had both called me on separate days for a few peices of information. So, when I arrived I only had to sign for the particular drug they were using for my sedation. Dr Frances and the friendly nurse, so sorry I didn't manage to get her name, welcomed me in and we went through what was happening, had a quick chat about cats as they were sorting out the sedation and then I was out. The oral surgeon came in to help with extractions. My partner collected me, and the team explained my post surgical needs to him clearly. The helped me to the car outside. I have been prescribed very good pain killers, a course of antibiotics, and with a phone call today a couple of my questions were answered. I made the call myself, 6 months ago this would not have happened. The way I have felt so welcomed, understood and bit by bit less nervous is a testament to how good the team at Tavistock Dental are. As they are a private dentistry practice they are not on the NHS bands. However, I was informed of a payment plan which means that you can have the treatment and not break the bank, but as with most things it depends on your cirumstances. What I will say is that this is the best dental practice for people like me, and the benefits far outway any cost. I would recommend Tavistock to everyone, especially those that struggle with the dentist from routine visits to more extensive work.

Very accommodating, friendly and understanding staff. Despite how busy their schedule is, they managed to fit me in for a last minute appointment for some tooth pain I had. The operation went very smoothly and I didn't feel any pain at all! Definitely the best dentist experience I have ever had and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who neess dental services!

I made an initial appointment with Jarvinder to talk about implants. After a one hour consultation, x rays and a 2D scan, he advised me to do a 3D scan to investigate some areas of infection. This was a very wise recommendation as there were areas of infection that I was not even aware of. Adnan has done two root canal treatments for me, outstanding care and results. I am seeing him again in 3 months time to review the situation. Then, Jasminder has done some amazing reconstruction work and removed an old root from a wisdom tooth. Again, outstanding care and professionalism on his part. After years of local dental treatment by my local dentist, I decided to go to an specialist clinic. The best decision I made towards the end of last year. Outstanding practitioners, pain free, top quality care. Not forgetting the ladies at reception, extremely helpful, they try their best to accommodate your needs. Absolutely no regrets. Thank you I strongly recommend Tavistock dental clinic.

Worth Every Penny I had just come from another dentist, who almost shouted at me, in spite of me sharing with her my fears of going to the dentist. I hadn’t been for over 10 years as I was just so scared. The minute Nikki telephoned me for an appointment, I knew I was in safe hands, she was so warm, friendly and very understanding. At no time did she dismiss my fears and anxiety. I was referred to Dr Frances for sedation, she explained the procedures and happily answered any questions I had. She was so reassuring always giving me a choice about how I wanted to proceed. I am so pleased I found this dentist practice, the work done on my teeth was to a brilliant standard. Everyone I came into contact with was both professional and understanding. If you are nervous about the dentist, don’t delay. You will be in exceptional hands.

Before visiting, I was frustrated with all other dentists downplaying my concerns and not believing my condition as a real thing; preventing local anaesthetics and most painkillers from working, as well as increasing any pain to a level higher than normal. I was just told that my pain would be different now I'm older etc etc so almost gave up. I knew I needed treatment, and after some research I knew the only way I was having it was with sedation (hoping it would work) and came across Tavistock Dental. My initial consultation left me feeling SO confident, Dr Frances and the team there were so reassuring an understanding, for the first time I didn't have to explain myself one bit. When it came to my appointment for the treatment, Frances was nothing less than amazing, she calmed me when I got tearful about the needle (another fear). Never have I seen a needle so tiny, and hardly felt it! I don't remember much else apart from waking up and being so grateful not to remember anything, and not to feel traumatised by the experience. I think that says it all for the success of the sedation! I left happy with a smile on my face and so far have not had any further complications. I can't thank the team enough - Frances and Nikki in particular, who between them, from start to finish listened to me and looked after me brilliantly. If I do need more treatment, which hopefully won't be for a few years, there is no one I could recommend more than Francis (and sedation)! If I have the means, I will go back without question for anything teeth related in future. It is expensive, but totally worth it and there are flexible payment plans offered if you don't have the money upfront. THANK YOU!

I would thoroughly recommend Tavistock Dental. I suffered a crack in a molar tooth during lockdown (beware filo pastry). After a root canal failed to save the tooth, I embarked upon the implant process with Dr Arjinder. It's a long process, with lots of different stages, but he carried out all the work fastidiously and expertly. His calm manner and clear communication built confidence throughout. My new tooth feels like it was always there. The reception team deserve a special mention for their warm and helpful manner. Five stars all round.

Well......From start to finish I was looked after like a Queen, I was telephoned at my convenience, spoken with kindness and respect for my anxiety, never made to feel pressured in anyway, all my questions were answered, there is a real calmness and assurity about Tavistock and all the colleagues, I am a very very nervous client and had to have sedation, I remember nothing from the moment the sedative took affect which is exactly as I wanted, the next day I was telephoned to make sure I was OK, and I was, all the necessary paperwork was given to my chaperone and I was safe and well looked after. Where do I start...I’m so happy to have found this dental centre as I am one of those with a terrible dental phobia and this is exactly the right place to go for that! The whole team are amazing, friendly, understanding and reassuring. Nikki is absolutely lovely and guided me from the beginning when I first made the call to enquire and she completely put my mind at ease. I do also have to highly recommend Dr Frances Carling and her assistant,they were so good that I was wondering when they were going to extract my tooth only to find out that I had awoken from sedation and the tooth had already been extracted! If I could award more than five stars I would. Saying I was nervous is an understatement which goes back to when I was a child. Frances who did the dental work was sympathetic and gentle. The treatment took about three hours but thanks to the sedation I didn't know a thing about it. All of the staff were kind not forgetting the girls on reception. I knew I needed to go and when Tavistock Dental came up on a google search for dental anxiety I knew I had to reach out. From my first interaction with them I knew this was the place for me. My dental health has improved so much in such a short space of time and I am so excited (and yes, a little nervous) to continue my journey with them. For anyone with concerns over visiting the dentist, trust me when I say you won't regret it. Every single member of the team has been fantastic and apologies for getting a tad emotional at times. Tavistock Dental / "Simply The Best" Due to having a long fear of visiting dentists I had not attended a dental surgery for 30 years. My back teeth gradually went into decline but never was there any pain / bleeding , however 5 years ago I lost one of my front teeth , another 3 years ago and one last year and thus decided that my teeth needed attention. I searched the Internet and came upon Tavistiock Dental , and after looking at their numerous great reviews I plucked up the courage and contacted them by e mail. I was contacted by Nikki from Tavistock. As a front person for the dental practice she is a great asset .She can answer any question you give her about any treatment. My visit to Tavistock resulted myself seeing Frances Carling – Thom. Yes my teeth were a mess but she was so kind caring and advised me what she culd do to help me going forward, I had to have xxx number of teeth extracted , the proceedure I had I was awake due to a medical issue I have, and I was quite apprehensive. However my proceedure went far far better than I expected and it was all down to the so kind approach of Frances . She made me feel relaxed , explained every thing that was about to happen , she gave me confidence and I felt I was in safe caring hands.( Through out the procedure there was no pain ) I cannot praise Frances highly enough , she was amazing. If anyone reading this review is in a simaler position to myself and dreaded / feared visiting a dentist for any reason , please do contact Tavistock Dental Francis and her assistant , along with Nikki are just awesome kind people to deal with , they were so non judgemental as to the state of my teeth ( unlike so many of my previous dentist ) I cannot praise them highly enough. Can't recommend this place enough! It was the first time in years I had been to the dentist and I was very nervous about the whole thing, but Dr Francis, Nikki and the whole team put me completely at ease. My partner had to get a tooth removed, and was also very nervous about it, but she feels the same as me, absolutely a wonderful experience. I am so happy that I have found Tavistock Dental. Nikki the receptionist was amazing and even though I had just walked in to speak to them without an appointment, she rang around to find me an appointment so I could get my teeth checked before I went on holidays, and has booked me in to speak to their sedation dentist about further treatment later this month. I am someone who is petrified of dentists however on my very first appointment, the care, comfort and empathy just made me feel so calm and confident. Being of the age where as a child I experienced the NHS dential treatment in the 60/70's (needless fillings, sometimes without anesthesia) this was my first dentist visit in >30 years. Actually getting through the door for my first consult was a challenge. What I experienced at Tavistock was pleasantly surprising. There was no 'judgement' , something that worried me, Nikki (practice manager I think) gave me just the right ammount of encouragement to keep me coming back. As far as the treatment - I opted for sedation, I had root canal, some crowns, some reconstructions (i arrived with 3 or 4 broken teeth) and hygeneist (over 2 vists). Big shout out to Dr Frances and her bag happy pills, have pretty much no recollection of either treatment sessions and got a great nights sleep following each :). I've had no post treatment issues which considering the amount of work I had done is amasing. There are probably plenty of people in a similar position to me, all I can say is if it worries you, give Tavistock a try, well worth the expense, which if you work out how long it's been, actually works out quite cost effective! Another big shout out to Nikki and Dr Frances - I now have my (clean) teeth back and will be going back again to keep it that way.

Overlong due review - sorry it took me so long. I went there in January. I have always been super scared of going to the dentist, but Dr Frances made it so easy. I can't recommend this place enough. If you have anxieties about dentists, trust me, this is the right place to go. Dr Francis was kind, calm and very understanding. During the first appointment she took the time to listen my concerns and my history with dentist and that made a huge difference for me, she showed me she really cares about her patients. I’ve avoided the dentist for years and was really worried about going, but really wanted to make it a regular occurrence as I get older. I found recommendations for Tavistock online when looking for dentists specialising in nervous patients and got in touch. From the outset, the experience was great. Nikki from the reception team is friendly and supportive and walked me through what would happen during my initial visit over the phone. Dr Frances was fantastic in my initial consultation and the opposite of what I imagine dentists to be - kind, funny and calming. She discussed sedation and it seemed like the right option for me. I finished my follow up treatment a week or so ago and it was so straightforward and - If anything - quite enjoyable. I essentially went for a two hour snooze and woke up with great teeth and I’ve had no pain following the work, I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Tavistock Dental (especially if you're a nervous patient when it comes to dental treatment). From the moment I called to register as a new patient, I felt like I was finally being listened to and I was treated with respect. Although they were fully booked, the calendar was shifted to accommodate the date and time that was suitable for me. All information was emailed to me and I was able to fill in the medical forms online so there was no need to turn up early. The surgery is clean and staff were all equally pleasant so I felt at ease. Frances was my dentist and she listened to me attentively and explained what treatment I needed and gave me a break down of prices. During treatment she was reassuring me and although my body was shaking and I was tense, I eventually calmed down and didn't need sedation. It's the most pleasant dental experience I have ever had where i wasn't sedated. Everyone wore masks and upon entry into the surgery you are given hand sanitizer and social distancing is in place. I will definitely return and i highly recommend Frances, she's brilliant! (p.s. I don't usually leave reviews but if it wasn't for the reviews left I never would've considered attending this dental surgery but if my review helps other nervous patients like myself then I'm glad to have helped someone!).

It had been years and years since I had been to the dentist (at least 6 years) and as the time went on I got more and more nervous about going, for fear of being reprimanded or shamed. This shame turned in to a fear of the dentist. But after weeks of pain, I did some research and found the amazing team at Tavistock Dental, I was reassured from the amazing reviews and testimonials from patients, that nervous or worried patients were welcome and the team specialised in that exact thing. After requesting a call back at about 1am on a Sunday morning, Nikki called first thing Monday morning, introduced herself, calmly and kindly asked me about my problems, any issues I was experiencing and guided me through the whole process. I was so grateful to be able to see Dr Frances that afternoon, and so began my journey back to a healthy mouth. Money can be a concern when going to the dentist, but I wanted to focus on the value I was getting. Some may see the treatments as expensive, but I would encourage them to look at the value of what they are paying for. I'm making up for at least 6 years worth of neglect, and it is worth every penny. We were able to figure out a deposit and pay that suited my financial situation. Being the face and voice of the practice, Nikki has been my guide through this whole process. It's the little things: remembering your name, what you've had done, and constant reassuring communication. Checking in with me on the phone after my extractions, and keeping me updated all the time. Both Nikki and Solange are a breath of fresh air every time I arrive at Tavistock. Dr Frances is a master in the art of keeping people calm. No questions went unanswered, I was walked through every concern, and a thorough plan was put together. A warm and welcoming environment was there at all times, and Dr Frances has helped lift that fear of the dentist away after years of worry. Thank you. I was most nervous about my tooth extractions, in particular my impacted wisdom teeth. I was offered sedation during the procedure, but being awake was never a problem for me, as I knew I would be numbed (and I could just close my eyes), however it was reassuring to know it was option should anyone else ever need it. Dr Habib and dental nurse Ramona were a dream team. It's amazing how calm and collected you can be whilst having your teeth extracted, but I was! The entire time, I couldn't believe the speed and the precision of the extractions. If you have any concerns about the dentist, especially if you haven't been in a while (or a long long time like me), this is the place to go. Not only do they know what they're doing inside your mouth, but they know how to care for even the most nervous of us. I am so grateful to the Tavistock team and very proud of myself too.

I came across Gray's Inn Dental Smiles/Tavistock Dental when I was looking for a dental practice that looked after nervous patients like myself, and I couldn't have found a better place! From the moment I had my first consultation with Dr Akhil Patel to when I had my treatment, I was looked after, reassured and felt like I was in good hands. I decided to have the sedation as I had to have deep periodontal gum cleaning and a couple of crowns restored, which I was quite nervous about, but Dr Frances and Dr Akhil made me feel totally reassured and calmed my nerves. The sedation itself was a wonderful experience - a tiny IV injection, and then a lovely relaxing state/sleep for the next 3 hours! I barely remember a thing, and I felt fresh as a daisy the next day after all the sleep. I'd also like to say how friendly and helpful the reception staff are - Fay was absolutely wonderful and sorted all my appointments and finance for my treatment, and Nikki and Solange in the Tavistock surgery were brilliant and so reassuring. I must say I am somebody who is utterly terrified of dentist, so I was extremely nervous on my first visit to Tavistock Dental. The moment I arrived to Tavistock, I was so welcomed by receptionists Nikki and Solange (not sure if I write the name correctly). They were super nice and helpful. Overall they really helped me to calm down before I went to see Dr. Samir. Also Dr. Samir was so kind. He went through what exactly he is going to do and he assured me that I won't feel any pain. I was there to move 2 of my wisdom teeth, whereas one was extremely tricky one. He kept his promise, I did not feel any pain whatsoever and his assistant talked to me throughout the process and constantly kept me calm. I went to Tavistock after a failed attempt by another dentist to remove a wisdom tooth and was feeling pretty anxious about having the procedure done for a second time. The staff at Tavistock are all lovely and put my mind at rest from the first call that I had with them. The lady at reception clearly sensed my nerves but was very understanding and listened to my concerns, which made me feel much more at ease. The procedure itself was extremely quick, painless, and smooth. The dentist Dr Habib had no difficulty in removing the tooth and I was out of the surgery within 30 mins without even needing stitches. Would highly recommend this dentist to anyone who is an anxious patient. Nikki on reception and Dr Francis were so so lovely, understood my worries and didn't judge me at all. I opted for sedation and I honestly don't remember any of the treatment. It took a little while for me to feel like myself again afterwards (my appointment was in the morning and I was pretty out of it for the rest of the day) but that is to be expected and is definitely better than lots of separate appointments that could be painful and worsen your fear. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly I was able to be seen too, especially over Christmas and during the pandemic. The cost was a little more than your average dentist but you get what you pay for. I now feel so much less anxious about going to the dentist. Very glad I found them and wish I had sooner!

Life-savers! Earth-angels!! It was a fantastic experience coming to the Tavistock Dental. I HATE dentists - not them personally!! But the experience always leaves me traumatised. I'm rubbish with pain - even injections - so an extraction with sedation was going to be the only way to deal with my dental emergency. From the very first call with Nicky I was made to feel at ease. She was very reassuring and imbued confidence about the medical team. My first visit reinforced my initial feelings about this Practice; the environment was cosy and all staff were smiley as they went about their duties. The atmosphere was definitely relaxed. On the day of the extraction, my BP (which is an indicator of my stress levels in given situations) was, to my surprise, normal...a first in these types of situation, and Dr Frances was excellent in giving the injection!!! The rest obviously went swimmingly and all I had to do was take a couple of painkillers each day for the next day or two. I was chuffed to receive a call from Nicky the next day to check up on me; we had a lovely chat and she checked that I was following the aftercare advice. Overall, the whole experience was a positive one: from my initial toothache to finding Tavistock Dental and getting the tooth taken out in a relatively quick timeframe was money well spent!! Being a very nervous patient when it comes to dentists, I had got my wisdom tooth into quite a bad way but after researching ‘nervous patient/wisdom tooth’, I came across Tavistock Dental! I didn’t really believe that there could ever be a dentist that could ‘cope’ with my anxieties and not become frustrated or judgemental but after reading through the outstanding reviews, I took the risk and rang and I was not disappointed! When I use the word perfect, I mean every single element from the first phone call (where I cried on the phone to Nikki!) to the aftercare I received! I will never ever forget Nikki as her calming voice was the reason I made the appointment, I was comforted by seeing her face when I arrived as I knew she’d taken the time to get to know me on the phone and felt like an old friend when I arrived. I decided to have sedation for my wisdom teeth removal and it really was such a pleasant experience. I do not remember a thing but chatting away and everything being led by me and how I was feeling. My mum was also blown away by the ‘over and above service’. Tanya was so attentive and her smile made me feel at ease after I’d had my teeth out too. Arj and Francis helped walk me down the street as I was a bit wobbly still and made sure my mum was clear on all the information she needed to know, for my recovery. Francis, Elenor and Arj were INCREDIBLE. I cannot fault anything about the experience, the care and the amazing professionalism and expertise from everyone! If you are considering going there then do it, every penny will be worth it! I am an over thinker so needed it to be done quickly so I didn’t have too much time to think about it so from the first phone call to me being in my car on my way home, two teeth less, was 6 hours! I first came to the practice 4 years ago. I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and although I didn't have any pain I thought it would be a good chance to get a check up. I called up and spoke to Nikki. She was very polite and helpful. I came in a few days later and met Dr Shah. He was amazing. The best dentist I have ever seen. The practice was a nice environment and the rooms were bright, clean and had murals of photographic landscapes which helped to take the clinical element out of the space. He did a checkup on me and found to my annoyance that I had a lot of cavities and damage in 8 teeth. 7 would need filling and 1 would need a root canal and crown. This seemed very daunting at first but we set up a series of appointments over the next few weeks to do the work in stages. Each week I would come and he would do 1 or 2 fillings. We worked up to the root canal. Finally I was measured for the crown and offered different versions to make me happy with the appearance. I chose to have white fillings and a white crown. All of the work was done within about 8 weeks and my mouth was in great shape. I also saw the hygienist who was great and did a great clean on my teeth. Over the last few years I visit every 5-6 months for a Hygienist appointment and a checkup. Dr Shah is always really great and I like his manner. There has been a couple of other little problems over the years but on the whole my teeth are in great condition now and I don't dread coming to the dentist. Everyone at the practice is lovely from the receptionists to the nursing staff and dentists/hygienists. I would thoroughly recommend this dentist. Great service, thorough, caring and lovely people.

Completely thrilled! Huge thank you to you all. I haven't successfully manged a visit even to a dental surgery in the last 12 years without passing out in the chair. I have had a steady stream of dentists claiming to be excellent with 'anxious' patients only to give up when confronted with extreme phobia and anxiety. As a result I ended up with incredible mouth pain and teeth I was not proud of, all with an ever growing terror and fear of the dentist. Amazingly cheery Nikki on reception paves the way (no matter how many times you call saying you don't think you can do this and you've changed your mind...!), and the nurses are incredible - caring and hugely supportive and calming. I cannot recommend these guys enough - sedation is the way forward for anyone with a dental or needle phobia. From start to finish they met all of my expectations and helped me get through a surgery that i'd been putting off for over a year. Their initial phone consultation was warm and friendly and put me at ease immediately - Niki and her colleagues in the reception crew are fab. As a needle/dental phobic, I had been trawling the internet for a practice that would help me overcome my debilitating fears. I opted for sedation as the notion of a small pinch to the back of my hand and being spark out for the entire experience was way more appealing than standard anaesthesia via needles in my mouth. I met with Frances the sedation specialist, she was wonderful, non judgemental and worked hard to find a solution to get me through the surgery. On surgery day I was terrified but upon arrival the reception team were warm and kind and made me feel comfortable. The experience was just brilliant. Frances loaded the back of my hand with a numbing gel, managed to get the cannula in really easily, i barely felt a thing. She also humoured me by covering it up so i didn't have to look at it. I met Spencer the surgeon, a super confident and caring chap, he talked me through the surgery without rushing or dismissing fears. Soon after, Frances began the sedation - I had no idea what to expect. I remember thinking, i don't feel anything and then laughing hysterically and going into a deep sleep. I was under for 2 hours and had 3 mouth injections during this to numb my gums - I don't remember any of it and didn't experience any fear in the moment. Many of my friends have commented on the expense. Its is expensive but on balance, I would part with the cash without even thinking about for any significant surgery as I was able to get the work done. Without this I can categorically say that I wouldn't have gone through with it and would likely have ended up with serious health issues as a result. Thank you guys, you helped me climb my Everest and i'm super grateful to all of you! x

I've just come to the end of a nearly 2 year dental implant journey with Tavistock Dental, and I couldn't be more pleased with not only the final result but of my entire experience with them. It started with Dr Adnan to try and save the tooth, and then onto Dr Arj when an extraction and implant became the most appropriate option. I was referred onto a partnering specialist for some additional bone graft work before the implant, with Dr Arj still heavily involved and often sitting in on the extra procedures I had done during this time, before I returned to him to have the remainder of my implant work completed. The whole team took great care to ensure that every step was explained in detail and that I was comfortable with the decisions we were making together, and as it was a front tooth they really understood the importance of getting a great result that I was happy with. I really felt that I was being listened to and that they had my best interests at the heart of everything they did. Getting a lot of dental work done, especially over such a long period of time, can sometimes feel quite daunting or overwhelming, but I can attest that everyone at Tavistock is wonderful to deal with and you will enjoy your time with them. After some very traumatic, brutal dentists in my childhood and teen years i had developed a high anxiety of the chair. when my tooth started hurting i knew i needed to look for treatment but was terrified about what might happen. i began to research dentists who specialise in nervous patients and quickly found tavistock Dental. After reading the reviews i booked in for an appointment. The 1st time you called i spoke with Nikki who has been a steady and reasuring voice on the end of the phone the whole way through - really calming and clear when your head might be a bit all over the place due to anxiety. After a very gentle consultation, I was booked in for sedation treatment which instantly gave me a sense of relief. The treatment is expensive but you're paying for private care and for someone to remove your anxiety and for me that's totally worth it - the sleepless nights i have had in the past, worrying endlessly are gone. The whole process is literally you having the drugs administered and then being collected afterwards when it's all over. Frances is kind and respectful and removes all of the scary factors. To be honest when i read these reviews i was a little sceptical that it would really be like that but it is. i would totally recommend this to anyone who has anxiety or fear of the dentist - all treatments are done at once, in one go while you have no concept of what's happening - a total revelation!

I called Tavistock dental on a Saturday, with severe ongoing tooth ache that I could no longer ignore and was in a dentist’s chair on Monday morning first thing. To cut a very long story short, I needed a lot of work and after a few appointments a dental plan was created for me, including sedation. I simply couldn’t consider the treatment plan without the option of sedation, my fear of the dentist was too overwhelming. The amazing Nikki was on speed dial whenever I had a question. Despite the many reassuring calls and emails, I was still fearful and nervous on the day of the procedure. Everyone was so calm and kind when I arrived, and a very, very small scratch on the back of my hand later, I was away with the clouds. If you have never had sedation before, it is so hard to get your head around the idea that you will not feel or remember a single thing. It sounds too good to be true and I was definitely sceptical... Well, it is too good (it’s amazing) and it is TRUE. I don’t remember a single thing of the entire procedure and though I was “conscious” I have no memory what so ever, felt no pain, heard no sounds. The team followed up after my procedure to see how was I was doing and was able to prescribe me emergency antibiotics within an hour (midst lockdown, pretty incredible really!). I remember reading reviews before making the dreaded phone call to Tavistock, only half convinced they did what they said they do. I am so happy to be writing a review myself - they do everything they say, and so much more. It’s a real comprehensive service with the kindest, most patient and understanding medical professionals. I feel extremely lucky to have been taken into their care, it was worth every penny. So, thank you! And see you in 6 months :) (never, ever thought I would say this!)

Initially I called up Tavistock Dental to enquire about having a hygiene clean. I spoke to Nicky who was very professional and explained clearly the different options and talked me through the entire process. Nicky arranged an appointment for me, it was completely stress and hassle free. On the day I was welcomed by Nicky and talked through everything before my hygiene clean. I then met Maya the hygienist who was absolutely amazing! Maya gave me the most thorough clean I’ve ever had, to the point where every nook and cranny was totally cleaned on each individual tooth, I’ve honestly never had such a thorough hygiene clean before. My mouth felt completely different more cleaner and healthier and I could see a difference immediately. Maya also talked me through how to take care of my teeth and gums with interdental brushes, especially since I have a permanent bottom brace behind my teeth and gave me some to take home. Maya also pointed out that I shouldn’t brush my teeth too hard as this can cause receding gums and instead opt for a much looser grip and even recommended specific sensitive tooth brush heads for my electric toothbrush at home. Honestly Nicky and Maya were absolutely brilliant, very professional and actually took the time out to find out what I needed and delivered with exceptional results. I will definitely be coming here again for all my hygiene cleans! Thanks guys!

Ive had terrible experiences at nhs dentists i had one dentist extract a tooth and take half my gun with it then stitched through my lip when trying to repair the damage. I had suffered for 2 months not eatin hardly anything or sleeping. I came across this dentist after searching on google read the reviews and spent all weekend plucking up the courage to message them. The work i needed was quite costly but thats my own fault for letting it get so bad. I cannot thank these people enough. Nikki on reception was so supportive, reassuring and helpful. Francis was amazing there was no lectures or the usual tutting and sighing i get from most jusgy dentists. She listened and cared. I had sedation which i would definitely recommend if u get as nervous as i do. I didnt feel a thing i don’t really remember anything was the best dentist experience ive ever had and ive finally found a dentist im willing to go back to for further treatment. I feel so fortunate to have found Tavistock Dental! After years of fearing the dentist, I decided to finally bite the bullet and book myself in for an examination. I Googled options to an obsessive extent and, having seen nothing but positive reviews online, decided to book in to see Frances. Tavistock make a real effort to make you feel at ease, starting with Nikki at reception. She was consistently so friendly, knowledgeable and calming, both over email and in person. One of the most significant things I noticed when first visiting was how pleasant the reception area felt - No medicinal disinfectant smell or noise from the nearby rooms. It made me realise that this formed part of the anxiety of visiting, and it was great not to feel that (plus Nikki made me a cup of tea, which helped!). The examination itself was over so quickly and the rest of my appointment was spent discussing my concerns, fears, and how I feel about my teeth. It felt really reassuring to have someone listen to me and talk through everything in detail - I hadn't had this experience with a dentist properly before. As someone with epilepsy, I've always been concerned about the lights and stress levels, but Frances was so knowledgeable about my needs already. I visited Tavistock a few weeks later for 4 fillings and an extraction under IV sedation. All I can say is that one minute I was nodding off, and before I knew it, 3 hours had passed and I was awake again with everything done! I don't remember anything from the procedures and didn't feel any pain afterwards, which I really didn't expect. The aftercare has been exceptional. I have received emails and phone calls from Nikki to check in on how I'm feeling, and she has been super responsive when I've had questions over email. For anyone who is feeling anxious, fearful or concerned about visiting the dentist, I really can't recommend Tavistock enough!

I was in a lot of pain when I was seen by the dentist. I needed a root canal treatment and the team at Tavistock Dental managed to fit me in much earlier than my scheduled appointment and saved me from additional days of pain. Having an almost pathological fear of dentists, I had avoided having a number of old fillings replaced for some time. I had to do a periodontal surgery and bone graft ... after an unsuccessful laser treatment in a different clinic I found Tavistock. Apart from being way more reasonable with their prices, Dr Kruti was absolutely amazing, super professional and friendly . I hate dentists and get very anxious with any little procedure, but she kept me calm throughout the process and kept explaining to me in advance what she was doing. The recovery was a little annoying however much better than I expected. Took painkillers only for the first day and recovered quickly overall. A broken tooth brought me to the dentist after more years than I care to own up to, and a referral from a friend connected me to the Tavistock Dental team (who I have unwittingly walked past for years). It was very short notice as the tooth broke at the weekend, and I knew it had to come out. I am beyond nervous when it comes to dentist/pain due to a childhood experience, and I've had a tooth extracted, fillings replaced, a cavity filled and a deep clean without feeling a thing!! And all of this after an email on Sat and in the surgery on Tuesday morning!! Amazing. The lead up to the work took hours of talking me through the procedure, options, my nerves, and everyone in the surgery is so, so kind and caring, taking time to work through my nerves and also my lack of good oral hygiene. No judging! It's been a couple of days now and no pain from the get go. My plan is in place and I actually look forward to going back because it's positive now. Arj, Frances, Elena, Ramona, and Nikki (who makes a mean coffee!) took a lifetime of fear away and got me back on track. Highly recommend them.

As a patient who has dental anxiety, I find it extremely important that the person at the front desk is welcoming as they are the ones who give you the first impression of the practice. She is also very informative, patient and professional who will try her best to always fit you in as soon as possible. Rahul, the General Dentist is also amazing who is very experienced in his field. The team works really well together at Tavistock, so you always feel taken care of from the moment you walk in until you leave. My family and I were on holiday in London for my MSc graduation and my fiance experienced some crippling tooth pain that could not be controlled by non-prescription painkillers and topical pain relievers. We called Tavistock Dental and they initially scheduled us in for an appointment for the next day. After explaining the severity of the tooth pain, the manager called several other branches and was able to schedule us immediately for an appointment at the Euston branch (Dental Smiles London Chalton Street). We arrived and my fiance was assessed quickly. After a short wait, he was treated (he had an infected wisdom tooth, which was pulled) by Dr Caleb (I believe) and we were back in our hotel room about two hours from when we left. We followed up with a question about after care, and it was promptly responded to via email the same evening. My fiance had no pain and no other issues the rest of the trip. We had very good and quick service and the cost was reasonable. Thank you to the Tavistock Dental and Dental Smiles London Chalton teams for going above and beyond! You saved our holiday!

They're all really lovely and good at their jobs. I was incredibly nervous about going to the dentist. So much so that my anxiety caused me to tear up while even booking the appointment on the phone. Nikki was SO KIND and patient and comforting. She explained the procedures to me and all my options so I could find the right fit for me (something not too invasive and reassuring me we could stop/take breaks if I needed to). When I got there, everyone in the waiting room maintained social distancing and they gave you hand sanitiser. It's clear they're taking COVID precautions seriously. Maya was my hygienist. She was so nice to me and very gentle with my teeth. She went as slow as I needed and kept checking in with me to see if I needed to pause. Its not as awful as I'd worked it up to be. I think we all knew that was the case, so it was really just a matter of keeping me calm. I was low-key afraid of everyone judging me (I hadn't been to the dentist in like 4 years). I was high key afraid of something being wrong with my teeth (because I hadn't been in so long). And all those fears totally disappeared. I felt super safe, non-judged at all and omg-do my teeth feel SO much better. Seriously, you don't want to put off maintaining your dental health. They're all really professional and you'll be in safe hands.

I had a full check up with X Rays + filling + wisdom tooth extraction all in about 35 min with 0 pain. Recently had a cracked tooth, on top of near 15 years of dental fear. Pain got bad enough that I had to find somewhere relatively urgently, and I came across Tavistock Dental. It was a Thursday morning, and I booked in for the following Monday. By Thursday lunch, the pain was so bad I could barely think let alone speak. The team said I could come in, and they'd help somehow if they could. We arrived that evening, five minutes before closing, and somehow, everybody who could be there to help was... by 6.25pm, I'd had two teeth removed in a 40min procedure, and I was given full sedation and remembered absolutely zero (as promised). From the receptionist through to the dental staff, they're all some of the genuinely nicest people I've ever met. They treat you like you're someone who matters, remembering small details about you, they make you feel welcome and familiar, they shoot straight with kindness, and recognise when perhaps things are making you uncomfortable etc. I need to go back for more work, but I've decided (upon their kind words that ultimately they hope people manage to work through their fears via the kind Tavistock people and eventually return to having a regular dentist one day) that I should seek a local dentist, and it's made me feel guilty and a little sad that maybe I wont see these lovely people again. Not a bad compliment! Obviously, there is a cost to getting the work done, and whilst mine was a fair outlay, I would do it all again, and I'd definitely go back if one day in the future I needed major work done that I didn't feel comfortable having done at a regular dentists. I was able to pay upfront, but they were very clear in offering help in me managing any potential payments as well. Ultimately, it was extremely worth it. From someone who legitimately lost sleep over the thought of a dentist, these heroes have made me feel positive about looking after myself, and that's the best thing I can say. That and they're legit the nicest people in the world. tl;dr - they're awesome.

Samir was amazing and the process took about 5 minutes in total. If I had to come back for another removal I would feel completely at ease so thank you so much to Samir for carrying out the procedure so perfectly. So two years after wiritng this review I had to come back for another tooth removal. After going to the dentist and being told I would be referred to hospital for the removal I didnt hesitate to call Tavistock Dental to get the procedure done. I was treated by Dr Arj this time and it was just as amazing as the first time. The tooth was a more difficult one to extract but once again the extraction took about 5 minutes and was completely pain free. Nikki and Solange (I really apologise if I have spealt anyones names wrong) on the desk were amazing and put my mind at rest from the first phone call right through to the procedure itself. January this year saw the final stage in the placement of a tooth implant, by Arjindar. I have waited 6 months before placing this review on so that all can settle down. I often ask the same questions over and over again to feel reassured which I know would be annoying for many Drs however Dr Patel has remained very kind, very informative and very supportive. He explains in detail and allows me to feel in full control, which is vital for someone like me. I really appreciate that Dr Patel has given me options and does not approach the situation with a one option solution, he explains and shows me all my choices which again is extremely vital for an anxious patient like me as it allows me to feel in control. Please please please I highly, highly recommend Dr Patel, he is amazing!! I have also been seen by Dr Arj a couple of times. I felt extremely comfortable straight away. Dr Arj was extremely patient and understanding. He took the time to understand my anxieties, my worries and understand my history before even examining me. I am extremely picky about my examination and he was very understanding and ensured I was calm and comfortable before my check. During my check he ensured that he talked me through everything he was doing so that I understand everything as he goes along. I was also told I can stop at any point by raising my hand which felt very good as I felt I had full control over the situation. Dr Arj is incredibly talented and so good at what he does - I knew I was getting one of the most thorough checks which left me feeling very reassured. All findings were explained very well and clearly to me and I was so happy to receive really good advice to help me take care of my oral health. I decided to have Invisalign treatment to correct my uneven teeth, which were causing me to be very self-conscious about my smile. Before I decided on the treatment programme, Dr Chohan clearly explained the different options available, what the Invisalign treatment would involve and how long it would take. I felt the cost of the treatment was fair considering the time and input I received from the practice over the duration of the treatment.Dr Chohan provided a very professional service and I felt I was in capable hands throughout. Also feel that they push for you to spend more by recommending extras too readily: high fluoride toothpaste, mouthwash, a £250 mouth guard. The dentist reassured me that if I had any pain after he gave me a filling, then he would replace it for free but when I went back to them, I was told that I need to pay £18 consultation fee and the cost of replacing the filling will depend on the dentist. Reasonable services but am going to try somewhere else after I get my filling replaced.

I have had very good experiences at this practice. Francis is great, and when she was away on maternity leave her husband also did a lovely job, solving a problem quickly and without any fuss. I have seen several hygienists and the health of my teeth has improved. I generally don't have to wait very long once I arrive. The practice is quite happy to recommend NHS treatment when appropriate.
