After what has been a " long time " avoiding a dentist since my experience of having a successful installation of braces. I had recently needed to have some pains investigated into. The initial welcoming when walking in was great. Great email comms reminding me of an appointment which was made that helped me not forget. The actual appointment was really good. Explained I was a tad nervous & was really well assured. Had very clear & understanding pictures of my teeth shown to me during a presentation & given options to choose from. Some maintenance works are booked & already feel confident I will be in safe hands. Highly recommend as I have found them to be really professional & understand nervous people like myself...even at my age...😉

Recently visited this surgery and am very impressed. The reception staff were polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Dr Penrose likewise was extremely polite, friendly, and very helpful. I wanted a dentist whom I can gain trust with, as that is so important to me, and whom is approachable, and I immediately felt that trust with Dr Penrose. I am so pleased I plucked up the courage to visit here.

I visited the dentist here today for an emergency appointment and can't fault the service at all. As an anxious person visiting the dentist, I was entirely reassured about what the problem was and didn't need any treatment. I was offered a solution for my teeth sensitivity without incurring additional fees. As far as experiences go with the dentist, I was very happy and will be back!

Can't rate this dentists highly enough. They are very different to other dentists I've been too - very friendly and less formal, which puts you at ease straight away. I'm a very nervous patient so this is a really big thing for me. Its a family owned business by a brother and a sister and i think it shows in their values - they never make you have unnecessary work, unlike many other dentists. I have a tooth that has been an issue for a long time and they have finally fixed it. I feel confidant going back to them. Really really good. and quite cool for a dentists

Really happy about the way the whole situation was handled by the staff, and Mrs Vidhu in person. I’m glad for the time these people spent explaining and also understanding my point of view. The dentist that treated me was extremely knowledgeable and capable. I loved the way she took care of my teeth, with a delicate touch. It’s not a 5/5 just because of the first time experience, but I’ll definitely go back again! ——————— My experience was awful. I called the reception few times in September to book an appointment without receiving any answer. I’ve then sent an email to book a service, specifying the treatment I was interested in. I arrived to the appointment 10 minutes earlier, but no one ever booked me in. They no record of the conversation I had with the receptionist via email (I actually had to show them from my phone). The lady at the desk was able to book me in for a slot in the afternoon, changing my plans for the day. Later in the day, it took me a while to complete a form because my surname and name were registered incorrectly. The dentists I met with was nice and friendly, however, were surprised to hear I was there for a cleaning and not a check up. The price for the treatment on the website is £49, when the actual price is £70. I was offered to have the cleaning “squeezed in” 15 minutes as that is the time the check up takes. Not enough for a deep cleaning procedure so I decided to leave as I was very confused. On my way out I was even stopped by the receptionist who evens asked me to pay for a treatment I didn’t have. Won’t go back and definitely won’t recommend.

My 22 month old son had to have his teeth extracted and we saw Martina for a second opinion . She was great and filled in a referral forms for the hospital and he was seen really quickly , had the surgery in a couple of weeks , and he was no longer in pain. This would not have been possible without you and I am ever for grateful for this . I’m so pleased to have such an amazing dentist practice on my doorstep and I would highly recommend you to anyone looking for a dentist . The price is also so reasonable for the service that you get !

Great service, very professional and highly skilled. I've had various dental work done by the team at The Dentist and all the work has been excellent. There is no hard sell or dental work recommended that isn't absolutely necessary unlike other dentists I've been to over the years. I've had two great experiences at The Dentist Balham with Lisa - she is both personable and professional and completely puts me at ease. Getting to see the x-rays on screen and being talked through the detail is really comforting, and very unusual compared to experiences I've had at other dentist surgeries! One of the best dental clinics I have ever been to! I decided to give them a try as they seemed fresh and modern. I was spot on - new equipment in each dental room, and dentists who are great. I had the most thorough checkup I've had for years, as well as a very good hygiene clean, and all for less than £70 total, which is half the price of some other dental clinics in the area. Definitely going back again!

I’ve always really loved the atmosphere of this dental practice. It has a very modern and artistic vibe which is different to the traditional dental practices. You immediately feel at ease. I was recommended this practice by a friend when I found myself in agony when my tooth cracked in half. When I rang I was greeted by a great team of receptionists who did 100% to ensure I was seen asap. When I arrived for my appointment, I was pleasantly surprised by the stylish and relaxed environment which helped as I am a very nervous patient. I saw a lovey dentist named Martina who talked me through everything she was doing which was easing for my nerves. I would definitely recommend this practice, they are professional, affordable and the best service I’ve ever received. NHS prices but private gold star service. 6 months ago I walked into The Dentist to take advantage of their free orthodontic consultations. Having already had an assessment with my NHS clinic I was fairly sure about what I wanted so I thought, no harm in a second opinion. I was given a much more in depth assessment, an appropriate action plan was set and things were put into motion straight away. I was thrilled! With 3 weeks of that appointment I had my upper braces attached as planned. Over the course of the last 6 months I feel like my needs have been considered and met at every occasion. If I was to point out a negative, on a couple of occasions the appointments were over-running however this was not the norm and I never felt that my time was then compromised. I am delighted with the results and can honestly say that having braces was an enjoyable experience thanks to everyone at The Dentist.

Excellent dentists. Fair pricing, always available - even when I had a problem on the weekend they fitted me in. Excellent dentistry confirmed by a consultant I saw. At a standard check-up after viewing my x-ray The Dentist recommended I would need my wisdom tooth removed, and since they did not consider it urgent, referred me back on the nhs to the local hospital. I have just been seen at the hospital today, and the consultant confirmed they had done exactly the right thing, and my wisdom tooth needed extraction - he even praised their referral letter! It's great to know they are thinking about the patient (me) as a whole not just the bottom line as shown by the referral back on to the nhs.

The hygienist was very polite and done a amazing job on my theeth haven't seen them look this good in years! This is the most amazing dental practice I have ever been to - it's such a relaxing atmosphere which is really important - the staff on reception are so lovely and Jatin (not sure if I've spelt his name right) but he is the most amazing dentist i have ever had! I've had to have treatment on my fractured tooth root canal and I didn't feel any discomfort at all - I feel so lucky that my dentist is round the corner from me - I would highly recommend this practice! Had an excellent appointment at The Dentist. Surgery is very clean and well presented, and throughout the appointment I was able to see photos of the progress/X-rays etc on the screen in front of me. I haven't been to the Dentist in over 3 years due to fear and previous negative experience in the past with another practice. I came to The Dentist in Balham and met with Carlos for a check up he was very professional and polite, Carlos knew I was very nervous and made me feel very relaxed and talked me through the whole process. I was booked in for some fillings and began to feel slightly scared again, Carlos gave me extra anaesthetic and I didn't feel a thing! My fear of the dentist has been removed. I am not usually a fan of going to the dentist (who is) but I had heard that The Dentist, Balham not only had the best looking dentists you have ever seen but was more of a spa destination than your usual dental surgery. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by a lovely receptionist offering you a drink and asking you to fill in your info on a swanky iPad! There is a designated childrens area with brand new books and clean toys - a rare change for those who often have to visit the doctors or dentist with a toddler in tow! My check up was quick and efficient and was performed by the nicest and friendliest dentist I have ever met! I have to weirdly admit that for the first time in 37 years I actually enjoyed going to the dentist and actually looking forward to returning next month for a filling!! So if you are looking for a positive dental experience I can't recommend enough! I think they may even be able to tame my two year old where other dentists have failed!

Both the consultations and the procedure were pain free.. it is now the day after and have almost no pain at all. I visited the dentist in Balham for the first time last year after seeing reviews on Google. I went there with a whole heap of problems! I had a huge fear of the dentist after having a lot of work done on my teeth whilst I lived in the midlands. The pain actually came after the work had been done! I couldn't eat properly for about 4 months - I literally could not chew on one side of my mouth! My teeth were so sensitive that even talking outside when there was a slight breeze or it was cold was would cause me pain. I was so terrified to go back to a dentist that I just tried to live with it. I was really embarrassed about the state of my teeth. I decided to stop going to NHS dentists and go private! I've been going to the dentist in Balham for about 6 months now (I've had to go quite a lot as my teeth were so bad) and can honestly say that Liz (my dentist) has completely changed my quality of life! I can now actually chew my meals, speak outside without being in pain and my sensitivity has had a HUGE improvement. Liz is very down to earth! She made me feel so comfortable and I'm no longer scared of dentist visits! Her amazing work speaks for itself! I cant thank her enough for all the hard work that she has done for me. The receptionists are also very lovely! This has definitely been money well invested for me! I never thought I would recommending a dentist but I'd recommend the dentist Balham 100%, particularly Liz!

As an extremely nervous patient and following some bad experiences with other dentists, I had been putting off seeing a dentist again. I went to the "open day" before the practice opened and was impressed by the surgery and the prices (very affordable for a private dentist). I agreed to go for a check up (the check ups are price matched at NHS prices, so I had nothing to lose) just to make sure everything was ok. At my first appointment with Vidhu I explained I was a nervous patient. Both Vidhu and her team were very reassuring and made me feel relaxed and at ease at every appointment I had. I explained I didn't like that I had a small gap between 2 of my front teeth but that my previous dentists had told me that I would need to have braces or veneers to fix it. Vidhu explained she could fix it without veneers or braces. I have now had 5 appointments at the dentist and I am so happy with my new smile. My teeth are in the best condition they have ever been in, I no longer have the gap that I hated so much and most of all I am not petrified of the dentist anymore. I would (and have) recommend The Dentist to anyone in the area looking for a new dentist. Everyone in the team is lovely and the surgery itself is beautiful.
