Dentist were very nice and friendly. Very caring throughout my checkup. I also took my son who is 7 years old to gentle dental and they were so nice and caring towards him. I have been with Gentle Dental for many years and always received excellent care. All the staff are friendly and will go the extra mile to accommodate you whilst being guided by the lovely practice manager Sue. I am blessed to have had Brenda MacMillan as my dentist since I have joined the practice and it is due to her professionalism and care that myself and my young family are put at ease each visit. My hygienist Alex is thorough and fantastic in explaining how best to look after your oral health. Each visit they make you feel like you are part of a family and I cannot recommend this dental practice enough.

Great staff. Great atmosphere. No one really likes going to the dentist, but Gentle Dental make it as pleasant as possible, and always a lovely smile from Sue in Reception. I always have a great check up with Alex the Hygenist who is always very professional , so ensuring no fillings for years. Absolutely brilliant establishment! Went in recently with a gum infection and the lovely ladies sorted me out perfectly. Incredibly kind, gentle and delicate with their work. I felt very welcomed by everyone. I will mostly likely make them my permanent dentists going forward even though there are closer ones near to where I live.

Everyone was so friendly at Gentle Dental. Jade was the main person performing my extraction. I had to go back 3 times to get my tooth extracted and she was so lovely each time. I have had negative experiences at previous dentists but the care and concern from Gentle dental has been better than I could have ever expected. Beeta on reception was able to find me appointments at such short nice. I would definitely highly recommend gentle dental to everyone. I have had a lifetime fear of dentist, so having 7 teeth removed at once was a hard decision to go and have done. My dentist was Eleftheria Stylianou, what a wonderful excellent dentist this lady is, she has the hands of an angel, such a delicate touch, also her manner explaining everything was clear, patient and very calming. I have had my teeth out and all appointments which come with that, I am no longer scared of the dentist, and was even laughing whilst in the dentist chair. I am 49 years old so a fear of dentists has lasted alot of years, I am so thrilled that I have now found a dentist which has turned my fear into laughter, wow really amazing people, really amazing dentistry, a really amazing dental practice. Used GD for emergency work after a severely painful infection. The Dentist and Orderly were very kind and understanding. However, the receptionist I called earlier in the day talked so quickly and didn't allow me enough time to ask a further question that meant I had to call back. People needing emergency work are likely to be in severe pain and anxious. The receptionist needs to understand this and be calmer when talking with the client.

Procedure (fitting a crown) went Ok but Raffaele needs to keep the patient more involved while the process is going on. For example 'Now I'm going to...' 'That's completed this part...' There was only a very brief introduction and explanation when complete. Only the assistant ever asked whether I was OK during the procedure. Felt rather elike a slab of meat on the operating table rather than a person.

Quite possibly the best dental practice in the world! I have been going to GDC for years now and I seriously don't think you'd find a nicer bunch of professionals. Sue is at the heart of the practice and makes everyone feel like a part of the family, relaxed and welcome. I *had* a lifelong fear of dentists. After breaking a molar, a quick call to the emergency line, I had an appointment at Gentle Dental. After an initial review with Dr Raffaele Cedrola, I was booked in for an extraction a week later (yesterday). On the big day he and his team manged to calm me even when I was doing my best to distract them with my nervous waffle. At his suggestion, I plugged into my mp3 to listen to loud music to take my mind off the action. Halfway through the 2nd track…tap on the arm. “All done!” Eh? I had 99mins of music still to go and was falling asleep. He explained the care procedure for post extraction very thoroughly and gave me a list of instructions covering all bases. I looked around the room, mostly looking to see the remains of the tooth but saw absolutely nothing. No sign the surgery that had just happened. The whole team, including the reception ladies were so great with me. It was like dealing with good friends. I left feeling chuffed that I didn’t cry like a kid or faint or run. If you are afraid of dentists, I highly recommend Dr Cedrola and the team at Gentle Dental. You will be in very good hands. I no longer have a fear of dentists.

I was in severe pain from a broken tooth premolar tooth and got an emergency appointment via 111 referral. I wasn’t expecting too much, having had one emergency treatment which increased the pain rather than reduce it. However, at Gentle dental, from the first phone call, everyone made me feel I was their only patient. The dentist and the dental nurse reassure me all through. A thorough job was done and after the numbness, the pain was no more. The team knew the job and the level of professionalism is second to none. I would have given them a 6star. I have been with Gentle Dental for over 5 years and I honestly cannot rate them highly enough. The level of service, even during COVID, is outstanding. My daughter chipped her tooth on a Sunday evening which was quite distressing, and they managed to see her first thing on Monday morning and sort it out for her. I've been been treated at Gentle Dental for a few months now at the hands of Dr Raff Cedrola. I've always been really impressed with the pre-appointment communications from the clinic, as well as the Covid precautions they take. Dr Raff himself has always taken the time to make sure I understood the treatment path we were taking, and I've felt completely at ease as a result. Certainly he's the most gentle with local anaesthetic injections that I've ever experienced, I never feel any discomfort when he's doing them! I would highly recommend this clinic.

I cannot recommend this practice enough. We will definitely use this dentist from now on even though it’s an hour away. We needed a new dentist as our last dentist made my daughter cry. We found this practice and they were so lovely my daughter insisted on having all four teeth that needed to come out, pulled in one session. She had four sets of injections too. All done with such calmness and kindness that she left with a smile on her face...incredible. They then checked up on her by ringing her at home. I have never known a practice care so much. I was finding it really hard to get an appointment at a dentist called everywhere to see if they would take new NHS patient but unfortunately of covid they where not. I called Gentle Dental care and spoke to a very nice lady called Sue told her i had a toothache and swelling on one side of the face. She said we are really sorry we don’t take NHS patients at the moment but we offer private treatment. As i was in so much pain for my toothache i was offered an emergency appointment that afternoon with a very nice Dr Raffaele who was really nice and helpful and welcoming. I had a really bad tooth infection which i had to take medication before my Root Canal Surgery. And i would also like to thank Yogi - the head of finance, she helped me with a few things and explained stuff which i did not understand. Dr Fawad Amin is one of the best dentist to have a Root Canal Surgery done. He explained everything in detail asked me if i had any questions etc. And thank you so much thank all the dental nurses for helping me. And also would like to thank Alexander the hygienist he was explaining everything to me before cleaning my teeth and at the very end. All the staff at the dentist are all very nice, kind caring and helpful too. The practice is always welcome, friendly and very clean.

I had an issue with the appointments system which I posted here previously. The response from the surgery was rapid and positive. The practice manager and the owner of the surgery met me in person and were receptive to my concerns. We had a productive discussion - it turned out that I had just been very unfortunate with the number of my appointments that had been rearranged over the past few years and that this was not a regular issue for most patients. I was impressed with the way that the situation was handled and that lessons learnt will be acted upon by the practice. My post recent experience was great. The hygienist was running on time, gentle and professional. Reception was very accommodating and proactive in arranging an appointment for my son.

Serious toothache due to fear of the dentist, i have not been since i was a child, bit the bullet as the pain was to much, called around 12.30pm and was seen by 3.10. I saw such a lovely lady called Brenda ( i think ) which understood my position and instantly knew my problem and i am now on the way to getting this sorted, with all my teeth problems i am now more inclined to drive the 20 minutes in distance just to use this particular dentist, i will be signing up to make this my permanent dentist and actually go to the dentist. Having not been registered with a dentist for a number of years I made an inquiry and the response from Lauren was not only quick, it was very welcoming and professional which led me to this morning visit. When I arrived I was greeted personally and gently guided through the Covid procedures in a relaxed way, and I felt very safe all the time I was there. Gentle Dental Care has instituted robust Coronavirus protection measures and continues to see patients with its customary care and attention. Many of its dentists have recently stopped seeing NHS patients and this change was not communicated particularly well to its existing NHS parients.

Going to the dentist has always been a nightmare for me, full of pain (probably bc I was never been given local aesthetics for any procedure on my teeth). However, Dr MacMillan and his nurse made me feel safe and less scared! They are very nice, assuring and always explaining what is about to happen. The Nurse (unfortunately don't remember her name, but she works Saturdays) has even offered I can hold her hand, which was very sweet! :) But all went well, local anaesthetics worked and I survived. So even though it is breaking my bank at the moment :D, I have to say the service is really great here, nice staff and always welcoming. So far seems like a good quality service too (but we shall see how many teeth I am left with :) ). The clinic has COVID-19 measures in place, making sure everyone is safe, so far so good. Definitely recommend this place, but make sure you save up before going if you don't have a Denplan ;).

I have recently had extensive dental treatment at Gentle Dental in Tilehurst. Even more recently my Dentist was changed to Dr. Aidan Yates and I am delighted with the outcome of his hard work. My teeth were in a bad state (my own fault of course) and Dr.Aidan has a great attitude and an even better chair(bed)side manner. My treatment required some extractions and a New denture was made while the extractions were taking place. I was dreading the upcoming appointments due my pathological (bad) experience with other dentists in my youth but Dr Aidan had a great way of putting me at ease. I had the last extraction today Tuesday 29th and my New denture set was fitted in and it turned out to be perfect. I am blown away by the work done by Dr Aiden and would recommend him and the Gentle Dental team to anyone in a heartbeat. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to my first six month checkup to come around in April 2020.

I always value the professional treatment from Dr. John Hunt and the fact that he explains all the stages of the treatment to be carried out. I am also dealt with politely and efficiently by the receptionists and appreciate the text sent as a reminder for each appointment. My visit on Monday 24 December was very reassuring. I was afraid I was developing a major problem with a particular tooth which would cause pain and discomfort over the Christmas/New Year holiday. I was given an appointment at short notice. The dentist who saw me examined my teeth and gums thoroughly and then X-rayed the area in question. This enabled her to see the area which was causing the problem. She prescribed a course of antibiotics, and suggested I take a pain killer if nessary, to see me through the next ten days. I now have an appointment to see Dr. Hunt on 3rd January to discuss the way forward for this particular tooth.
