My first experience with Markham Associates was an excellent one. Every single member of staff was absolutely lovely, they made me feel calm and that I was in safe hands. I am now looking forward to my next dental appointment, rather than dreading them as I have with previous dentists! I am generally terrified of dentists (mainly because of my childhood dentist!) and when I first came to Dr Kamran I told him just as much. I received an amazing care, where the Dr was very aware of my fear. He kept telling me everything that was going to happen, him and his assistant were doing slow breathing with me when I was having my teeth drilled and he was happy to give me more numbing injections if I still didn't feel comfortable. I would 100% recommend this practice as every time I go, I always receive amazing service.

I had some traumatic dental procedures when in my teens and early twenties which meant I had an aversion to going to the dentist, so I didn't for some years. I then developed a nasty abscess and had to bite the bullet (pun intended!) so I went to Markhams as it is literally a 5 minute walk from where I live. Dr Kamran was the dentist I saw. He is a lovely gentleman who put me totally at ease and explained the medication I would need and then the various procedures thereafter in order to fix my much neglected teeth. I was somewhat apprehensive as the treatment would include root canal surgery, which for someone with a fear of dentists was something I was not looking forward to! However, Dr Kamran performed the procedure and put my mind at rest by explained everything in detail and his 'bed side manner' is excellent. He has since done various other procedures including fitting crowns etc and I now have absolutely no fear of going to the dentist. His whole team are great. The receptionist, the hygienist, they are all so very friendly and professional. All my hesitation and apprehension about going to the surgery has disappeared. A very well run surgery which I would not hesitate to recommend to others. I would not go anywhere else. Keep up the good work!

The fact that I don't need to use my old denture anymore is so much more convenient and I cannot wait to eat a pizza in a restaurant stress-free! I’ve been a patient of Dr Kamran’s for many years now and I decided to have my teeth straightened last December. I got a free consultation and was given the options of getting braces or invisalign and I chose Invisalign for its subtlety. Although not overnight, after the six months I felt so much more comfortable in my own skin and have received lots of compliments! I was pleasantly surprised that the retainer was not invasive at all, sometimes I’d even forget I had them in my mouth. I must give my thanks to Dr Kamran for his utmost patience, expertise and the fact that he explained what he was doing each step of the way, which I really appreciated. The lovely nurse, Lorna, was very caring and friendly too... I even looked forward to going to my appointments haha! As I had gotten the orthodontic treatment, I received the tooth whitening treatment for free and I must say that I am extremely pleased with the results. My partner keeps catching me smiling at myself in the mirror too!!

Very Good, saw the dentist and hygienist, all went with a hitch!! Use their Denplan scheme... £14.50 per month gets you two visits to the dentist and hygienist per year and 10% of any treatment necessary. Highly recommend!!

Update (November 2019): Recently, I found myself visiting this dental practice 3x under two months for various reasons and the level of service is consistent, never slips. Twice I was seen by Dr Kamran and Lorna. Both times great experience, I felt cared for on really personal level and all my impatient questions were answered with detail and grace. All I can say this practice doesn't look for ways to empty your pocket on every opportunity. Very refreshing and trust building. On last of the three visits hygienist Maryan was incredible again! I asked her to be gentle and I almost fell asleep while getting polish and scale!!! Without compromising the result! Thank you Maryan! 2018: Visited twice already and just called to book another two appointments. Maria, the receptionist must be the friendliest I've ever come across whether face to face or over the phone! She's very thorough, thoughtful and warm. The dental professionals here are gentle, knowledgeable and really top skilled. And all this is within 5 minutes walk from my doorstep. Can't get better than this, can it?! 😉

After a very traumatic dental treatment less than 6 months ago at another practice I was very anxious about going to another one ever again! i rang for an emergency appointment due to concerns over a wisdom tooth and at same time explained my anxiousness, The staff were wonderful and explained everything on the phone before booking an appointment including costs. This is the most friendly, professional and calm environment ever. I called for an emergency appointment and they fixed a botched up filling from another dentists work. I felt a bit uncomfortable in one of my front tooth recently and after reading many great google reviews about Markham Associates, I decided to book an appointment with them. My appointment was with Dr. Kamran yesterday and I have to say he is one of the best dentists I have ever had. I am a bit nervous when it come to my teeth however Dr. Kamran checked all of my teeth including my sensitive tooth very well and explained everything to me which made me very comfortable. Everyone else was also very nice to me at Markham Associates. If you need to visit a dentist, I very much recommand Markham Associates.

I recently underwent tooth whitening treatment at Markham Associates and I am delighted with both the result and the care I have received throughout. I opted for overnight whitening over a period of 10 days and the procedure was clearly and fully explained to me prior to the treatment commencing so I felt confident with both what I needed to do and the result that we were looking for. The potential for sensitivity was explained but I have had very few issues with this. The trays took a little getting used to but were not as uncomfortable to wear overnight as I had anticipated and the results are well worth the slight inconvenience. My teeth are now a lovely, natural white and I feel as though I’ve got my smile back. I’ve had numerous envious compliments from friends and co-workers and have no reservation in recommending both the whitening treatment and Markham Associates – particularly Dr Kamran and Nurse Lorna. Markham Associates (despite several name changes) is one of the longest established dental practices in Reading. I have been attending there ever since 1946 when I was just 3 years old and in all the years since I have no recollections of any truly painful or unpleasant experiences. I guess no-one enthuses about visiting their dentist. However, I always go along in the certain confidence that I will return home - not just with healthy teeth - but on visiting the hygienist (highly recommended), with much cleaner ones; and healthier gums as well. Dr Ali Kamran and his team are highly competent and I unreservedly recommend this practice without qualification. Call and book an appointment today!

I live in Sweden. But I have heard of Dr Kamran from my friends in UK. I got in touch with him through the phone and since I was supposed to be only a short time in London mainly over a weekend, I wasn't hoping to get an apointment. But Dr Kamran kindly went out of his way and recieved me on a saturday. The trearment was exceptionaly good. I have never had such a pleasant and helpful Dentist visit.
