Just went in for an emergency extraction. I can't remember the guys name but he was was amazing. To the point that I cried because he'd sorted out my painful tooth. I found this dental practice some months ago when I moved to Southampton, after rigorously researching online and trying to find a private dentist practice that is good at what they do, yet reasonably priced (many in the area will ask you to donate a kidney for even a 30 min hygenist appointment). I have had overall a good experience here, especially with the hygenist Hassan who works here, who has been amazing. Every visit he is welcoming, friendly, yet professional & knowledgeable, and goes the extra length to explain your gum and teeth health in detail. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a dentist.

I have had braces twice, once as a teenager for 4 years and once as an adult for 1 year and on both occasions the complex orthodontic issues with my teeth were not resolved. I then came to see Melina at smilemakers after seeing the results of some of her cases, and I decided to talk to her about my teeth and see if there was anything that she could do to correct my bite. Fast forward a few months of invisalign and I could not be happier with the outcome of the treatment I've had with Melina. She is a professional, very knowledgeable, very reassuring and made me feel at ease throughout the process. I can finally bite down now on my back teeth and chew my food whereas previously I had posterior open bites and only my front teeth were meeting, which made eating very difficult and uncomfortable. My teeth are also nice and straight now too! Thank you very much Melina, and also a thank you to Jade who has worked just as hard by assisting during the appointments.

I am a new patient at Smilemakers after many, many years of putting off going to the dentist due to my fear and nervousness about going due to past bad experiences of other dentist practices and fear of what I would need to have done. I am so glad that I found Smilemakers. Everyone I have dealt with have been so lovely and kind and it has put me at ease during my visits. My dentist Emily Stanworth and her dental nurse were amazing and so kind and explained everything as we went along explaining my current dental health and what we needed to do next for my referral. This is a scary prospect in itself but they have been great in handling this for me and it has already been organised and done without me needing to even get involved. My most recent visit was to see the Hygienist Hassan Shariff, again he was so lovely and kind and put me at total ease. He explained what he was going to do and kept checking with me that I was okay throughout the appointment. Afterwards he went through with me how to do a thorough dental hygiene regime at home and provided me with written notes to refer to at home. So professional and an absolute star. I would highly recommend Smilemakers and I have finally found a dental practice that I am happy to go to. Thank you to you all!

OK so nobody likes going to the dentist do they? Well what I can say to put your mind at rest is that not only are the staff helpful friendly and cheerful, the technicians are highly qualified very professional and thoughtful too. Dr Belarbi was very informative, gave me all options and explained everything thoroughly before I started treatment. On starting treatment he said with a smile “I promise you won’t feel a thing” and I can honestly say that I didn’t. I highly recommend this practice and won’t be going anywhere else. Another plus is that they always send a text reminder the day before your appointment which is really very helpful.

Review from Wendy Foreman who had the treatment. For at least 3/4 years I have needed a root extraction as I lost a crown and had insufficient tooth to repair. I put this off as I had never had a tooth out at the dentist the last time was under general anaesthetic at hospital many many years ago. My first visit to Elyas Yonis (having been requested to move to another dentist in the practice) was for a check up and we discussed the root extraction. Mr Yonis took an x-ray and showed me the root of the tooth and the surrounding roots. I then decided to book for the extraction dragging my husband along for morale support although he sat in the car! Mr Yonis was superb talking me through the process throughout the procedure. After several injections to numb the area he proceeded with the extraction and before I knew it the root was out without the need for any pulling or cutting of the gum! I cannot recommend Elyas Yonis enough he certainly put me at ease with his calming manner. Thank you.

Having been my first time seeing a hygienist at Smile Makers, I couldn’t believe how different the experience was to what I had experienced before. I had Hassan who was a lot more thorough and informative than hygienists I’d had in the past. Constantly reassuring and checking if I was alright or needed a break. Easy to talk to with good conversation, making the time fly by. Wouldn’t hesitate to return if needed. (Hopefully not following guidance on correct flossing technique)

I visited Dr Belarbi In November 2021 for an emergency filling. The previous filling I had was dislodged when I was flossing. Dr Belarbi was reassuring and explained everything to me clearly. I opted for composite filling to replace my previous one. Absolutely fantastic service and communication through out the entire procedure. I felt completely at ease. Dr Belarbi's professionalism was top notch and his perfectionist skill meant that the composite filling isn't even visible, I couldn't believe it myself. I have been seen twice now by Hassan for a hygienists appointment and I really couldn't recommend him enough, especially if you are nervous about going to the dentist! Always checks you are okay throughout the whole time in the chair and is happy to stop if you need a break. At the end of your appointment he takes the time to give you helpful advice on how best to clean your teeth and what areas to focus on. The advice hassan gave me on flossing has massively improved my gum health and I couldn't be happier with the service he provided.

Constant professionalism and always making sure you understand different services, pricing structures, and financing plans. Most of my work has been done by Dr Belarbi & Roxanne. Most professional work I’ve seen from a dentist! They’re magicians (and I’m sure the rest of the dentist team are too) when it comes to repairs, services, advice and I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Today I am smiling with a full set of new teeth, thanks to the expertise of the staff at Smilemakers. The initial consultation with Dr Belarbi was the beginning of my fabulous treatment at this dental practice. He explained everything that could be done to correct the appearance of my teeth (worn down by night time grinding) and who’s advice and patience was brilliant (I am quite an anxious patient). Next, Courtney, the practice manager, arranged appointments to fit around when I could attend (helpfully sent by text message reminder the day before too) and she was also great in arranging finance for me, which was quick and easy to do so I could spread the cost over a year. My treatment day was yesterday with Mr Darling and his assistant Sophie. As I was having a full set of composite fillings, I was told to expect that it would take up to 4-5 hours. Yes it did take this long, but it didn’t feel like it. Mr Darling kept me informed of everything he was doing, talked me through every stage and Sophie was brilliant, checking I was ok. They worked incredibly well together, didn’t have a break at all and I felt I was in the best dental hands ever! I cannot thank Mr Darling enough for giving me an amazing set of new teeth. I have felt embarrassed to smile for years due to the condition of my teeth and now I can’t wait to smile for photos. I would 100% recommend this dental practice to anyone needing treatment. I cannot think of one negative thing to say - from the friendly receptionists, to the hygienists, the practice manager, the dental nurses and to the fantastic dentists. Thank you Smilemakers for giving me my smile back!

Visited Hassan the hygienist yesterday and he was excellent. He told me throughout the appointment exactly what he was doing and why. The best dental practice I have been to! At previous dental practices I was so scared I wouldn't even wait in the waiting room but since becoming a patient at Smilemakers I have no fear anymore. The atmosphere is so friendly and relaxing, it puts you at ease straight away. I see both Edward Hook and Hassan Shariff and both are fantastic, to me it always feels like you're going in to have a catch up with a friend you haven't seen in a while rather than a dentist appointment. I have had complicated treatments with Dr Hook and have since been seeing Dr Shariff. I can tell that from the work they have done and following the advice given, my mouth is so much healthier than it was before- I can actually feel the difference! I couldn't thank these guys enough for changing my whole view of going to the dentist.

I was unsure of what treatment would be best for me when I first visited Smilemakers. After reviewing all the options I went with Melina's recommendation of Invisalign. I am very glad I went with the recommendation as the process and service has been excellent.
