I have been going to this practice for many, many years seeing Mrs Patel and would never go anywhere else! My previous experience of other dentists outside of Watford has been really bad. This practice is outstanding on every level in particular the care and personal touch I have been given during each appointment which has been very much appreciated. Recently I have had an implant with Mr Patel and again the care and treatment were outstanding.

I’m not a patient at this practice but was looking around for an emergency appointment. Managed to book one in and it cost £35 as advised by the receptionist. I had to pay another £15 extra once I finished although I wasn’t told why? The dentist just drilled a filling down that was causing pain and no further treatment was required. It was a very quick, efficient, friendly service in comparison to my registered dentist who couldn’t get me an appointment. the only down side was parking! There is nowhere to park as it’s permit holders only around the area. (Which I was new to) I ended up taking a risk and parking near the park further up on Ashby road. Hope I don’t get a ticket

I have been a patient of the Chrysalis Dental practice for 37 years, during which the service that my family and I have received has been second to none. The practice is an asset to the community. For example, it was one of a few in the country that remained open during the Covid pandemic. My dentist is clearly at the top of his game, lecturing on the subject at Warick University and perhaps more importantly, for those patients that are in distress, is often the last point of referral to address complex dental issues. Although clearly a busy practice, my dentist always takes the time to explain why any work that I need is necessary and the pros and cons of the options that may exist. Lastly, and importantly, as you enter and leave the practice, you do so via polite and professional receptionists.

When you first hear those dreaded words from your dentist that you never want to hear “you need major dental work to solve a problem” it is worrying. This what happened to me at the start of 2020, not a time when anybody wanted to hear any bad news. The possibility of me needing major work had been in the background for a while but it was brought to a head when at the start of 2020 I broke one of my front teeth. I visited Minesh and he diagnosed an implant for my front tooth. His feeling was that the break had been caused by my bite changing over the years and the fact that so many of my teeth no longer met when I chewed food, in fact most didn’t. his diagnosis was that by correcting my bite, it would ease the pressure throughout the mouth, so help to prolong my own teeth and ensure the implant wouldn’t break under pressure. It was going to be a long process and turned out to be just over a year in length. It seemed quite a daunting prospect at the start and I needed time to convince myself it was the correct course of action although in reality it was the only long-term solution other than replacing most if not all of my teeth with crowns, implants or dentures. Once the preparation work for the implant had been completed Dr Patel started on the work to widen my bite so that my front teeth no longer met and thereby reducing the pressure on them. Minesh began by provisionally increasing the height of my teeth with temporary composites. This was done over a number of visits over approximately 3 months. The purpose of this was to gauge how much additional filler was required to make the necessary widening of the bite. It was also to check whether there would be any physical problems associated with this widening. Such as pain in the jaws at the joint where the jaw moves up and down. I assume that because it was resetting to the original position meant that I had no discomfort or pain associated with the procedure. It did feel strange to begin with having to change the way I ate food because the teeth were now level it was like chewing on a flat surface something which I hadn’t been doing for years. The temporary filling was also annoying because food kept sticking to them. A minor irritant but annoying non the less. Once the temporary fillings had set the new bite then the business of replacing the temporaries with final porcelain crowns. It took approximately a session to do each tooth. In my case this went on for approximately 3 months but each time a tooth was finished the bite got better. By the time this was completed my new implant was ready, which brought the whole thing together. After the implant was inserted then Dr Patel polished the porcelain crowns. It was then a case of checking that everything was working well and making a couple of slight adjustments and the whole process was finished. Overall, it was an interesting project, which went quite smoothly. I suppose there were times when it seemed to be never ending but the work being undertaken couldn’t be rushed. If it is suggested that you need this kind of treatment, I would certainly recommend that you take it. One of the advantages of this whole process was that it was quite drawn out which helped spread the cost of treatment rather than having to make one large payment at the outset.

I always have a great experience at Chrysalis Dental Practice. My hygienist Lidiana is extremely good at making sure I know how to better look after my teeth and keeping me completely at ease where I may have been anxious in the past. Dr Kalpana Patel is brilliant at identifying any problems and taking great care of any work that is required in a professional and reassuring manner. Top marks to the whole team. Update: Dr Kalpana Patel completed a wisdom tooth extraction which was a such great experience for me, that I felt the need to update my review. I know it's not something to be overly positive about but the whole experience was a good as I could have wanted. Calming and reassuring, not to mention that the actually extraction was completed in under 20 seconds (no exaggeration). On a separate occasion, I had an extraction elsewhere that took a lot longer than that. As everyone is different, I can't say you'll have the same exact experience as me but I feel us patients are in great hands here.

Been attending the practice since I was a young girl before the revamp extension and new name. Never have i had a problem with the attitude of staff or there professionalism. Always greeted with a warm smile and friendly tone from the receptionists, and made to feel welcome . Once in the surgery the dentist and dental nurse were polite and friendly and on the many occasions when I have needed treatment it has always been explained as to what they are doing and what to expect. They are a lovely team and always do their best to make you feel comfortable and at ease. They are also very good when it comes to treating young children as was i when I was younger and my own two children. The sticker is always a bonus.

I RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE HIGHLY. I saw Chrysalis today as I was in a lot of pain. I rang and within 1 hour they saw me and there was no real wait. The practice explained everything really weel about the whole procedure and I needed a complex tooth out which had split root i the sinus. The principal asked for a second opinion from other dentists to make sure for reassurance I extraction went very smoothly with absolutely no pain I was clearly explained the fees on the NHS and was happy it was done so quick with 2 hours of calling. The best dental practice in the Universe. Minesh, the head dentist, is the most professional and knowledgeable person I have ever come across. The whole way reception is set up with the staff and booking system with reminders gives a realmsemss that everyone there cares about the patients. I have been going here for about 15 years and had many different procedures and although it's quite a trek for me, I would definitely never go anywhere else. I also use the dental hygienists there and my wife has the same view of the practice. I am very happy to recommend this practice 100% to anyone, especially if the work needed is challenging. I haven't been to the dentist for a while due to a strong fear. Rajesh has really helped me overcome my fear by explaining things in a away for me to understand. For example I came to the practice wanting veneers however Rajesh explained the pro's and the con's about this and made me realise I should keep my natural teeth for as long as possible especially as they were all healthy therefore we made the decision to striaghten them and I couldnt be happier with the result it has made me so confident, I would highly recommend him as a dentist. I was told by a previous dentist i would loose all of my teeth by the age of 40, however i am now 50 years old with my teeth thanks to the amazing technology that minesh has done. I had deep pocketing round my gums which caused me to loose a lot of bone around the tooth which almost made me loose the tooth. I havent lost this tooth due to Minesh doing a bone graft around this area which made bone grow to help my tooth and i will be forever grateful. I also come to the practice to see Lidi the hygeinist and i cannot recommend her enough also she is so gentle but des such a great job. I felt the need to share my experience at Chrysalis dental practice, as it was first class. My son had a fear of dentists and needed an extraction. The Dentist went out of his way to relax and reassure my son, he even went the extra mile by playing his favourite song to distract him throughout the process. He gave me as a parent detailed advise on how to not only improve my sons dental care routine but useful tips on implementing them. My son now looks forward to going to his check ups. I also have a very busy working schedule the staff at the desk go out of there way to accommodate this when booking my family’s appointments. My only regret is I didn’t find them earlier !!!
