Blossom Dental Care is an excellent dental practice in both professional and administrative care. Reception are easy to contact via email and always call back in good time. Dental treatment and hygiene has always been excellent. Most recently, I needed emergency treatment and was seen and treated swiftly so I'm a very happy client.

Practice staff are friendly and efficient and have been good at communicating appointment reminders or changes, whilst the routines in place during the Covid emergency have been reassuring.. The only slightly unsettling aspect has been the turnover of dentists in recent years, but this seems common to all practices.

My partner and I go to Blossom for our regular hygiene. The staff at blossom are great and the service is good. The prices are also reasonable. However they have been short staffed recently, particularly of dentists, so we have not been able to have regular examinations.

Like all NHS dentists at the moment, they seem rather stretched so appointment wait times are very long. Very prone to cancellations too and I think how these are managed could be improved. I've turned up, having booked time off work, to find they've cancelled appointments more than once. But the quality of dental treatment is really excellent.

Blossom Dental Care are honestly the best dental services I have ever attended. A family member recommended I visit Blossom after a bad experience at another practice, which had left me fearing dental appointments. I’ve now been a patient with Blossom for around three years and every member of staff I have seen has been so lovely. The staff really make you feel comfortable and at ease. I also like that they give personalised hygiene advice and health education during appointments (e.g. what colour interdental brushes to use and provide demonstrations). I’ve never had this from a dentist before, at Blossom it feels like they genuinely care about people’s health and preventative care. Overall, I would highly recommend this dentist practice. I’m currently having ongoing treatment with Dr Sond to fix my damaged teeth and am a nervous dental patient due to childhood experiences but he has helped make my appointments much less stressful. Although the practice is very short of staff at the moment, reception are friendly and will do their best to get you booked in considering the backlog they have.

I'm very happy indeed with my recent dental work carried out by Dr Sond, assisted by Hannah. After he had dealt very effectively with a tooth that had been causing me pain, I mentioned how unhappy I was with the appearance of my teeth. Dr Sond explained to me what could be done, and I have now undergone the first stage of my cosmetic work, Enlighten teeth whitening. I'm delighted with the results and feel more confident already. Dr Sond has been really good about answering my many questions, and both he and Hannah have been kind and patient throughout my treatment. The reception staff have been very helpful too - thank you to everyone.

Lots of horror stories in York of dentists throwing out their NHS patients and treating privately only, thankfully Blossom Street Dental Care are not one of them! I've been a patient for 8 years, undergoing a series of treatment now and the dentist is so helpful, friendly and informative 👍 Update: I received a text recently saying they now had a shortage of NHS dentists and that my check up in August had been cancelled, that I wasn't to contact the practice and they would be in touch when they were able to see me. I've always had a good experience here. I've had two dental implants, which have been successful. Staff are always friendly, helpful and well informed. Whilst I am a little scared of the Dentist, I always found James Harrison put me at ease and he made a point of explaining what was happening each step of the way. I had spent several days in pain with tooth ack waiting for my booked appointment to arrive. However, the pain got so bad I was unable to sleep at nights, so I sent the practise an email explaining my situation and after one or two more emails they very kindly managed to fit me in within the next week. I spent over an hour and a half in the chair, but by the end the pain was gone and my tooth felt a lot lot better and it was all down to the dental practitioner and her assistant. I can't recommend Blossom Dental more. I came especially to get my teeth whitened after researching the best methods. After a chat with James I decided on the Enlighten method but having never whitened my teeth before I was slightly apprehensive. James explained the whole process brilliantly and made me feel really relaxed - I really appreciated his calm reassurance when I was getting my moulds made as going to the dentist isn't my favourite experience. But his professionalism and easy manner put any nerves I had at ease. The instructions for the at home whitening were really comprehensive and I felt confident about doing the treatment. I'm absolutely delighted with the results! My teeth are SO much whiter and I feel much more confident about my smile. I recently completed the smile makeover dental plan with James Harrison and I am delighted with the results. Having had quite a number of fillings and crowns over the years, some of my front teeth had become discoloured and uneven and I had become somewhat self- conscious of this when smiling. With the porcelain veneers fitted now, my teeth look very natural both in shape and colour. James has done an excellent job. The combination of his professional dental skills together with an all important ability in ascetics and appearance has achieved really great results. My experience from the initial consultation until the final review has been very positive. I was kept well informed at each stage of the process. James took time to listen and answer my questions during each visit. My husband and our three grown up children have all commented on how lovely my teeth look. Great for implants! After a bike accident where I lost one front tooth and chipped another, I reached out to Blossom Dental Care. The whole team at Blossom Dental Care have been excellent. James Harrison is an absolutely fantastic dentist. Due to the nature of my accident, I needed quite invasive surgery. All the procedures were explained to me well at the start by James and Bev. James removed the root and put the implant in. After three months, I had the crown put in and the shape of the tooth is perfect and matches my other teeth perfectly. The chipped tooth was fixed up very nicely and looks very natural. The team were accommodating of my broken jaw making things harder for them work on my teeth. After a year of facemasks and hiding my missing and broken teeth, I now want to take off my facemask and show off my new teeth. Big thank you to James, Bev, Lorna, Jess, Teresa, Amy and the rest of the team that helped me.

I've been a patient at blossom dental for almost three years now and have had a good time with them. I especially appreciate the hygenist Elizabeth and Doc. James Harrison in particular, as they see me the most (almost exclusively- the consistency is another plus). I most recently had a difficult tooth taken out as a pre-emptive procedure by James and although he's very busy, he was supportive through the whole process from explaining it all to me to the day of the surgery. Best dentist ever. Seriously, them team are so fantastic I could not ask for better. I get extremely nervous at the dentist usually, but since coming here I'm so not as bothered! Mafalda is AMAZING - she goes over and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Theresa is also fab and has given me some pain free fillings. I've also had courtesy calls to ensure that I'm ok the day after, and a lot of understanding with helping me do my payment plan. So happy I came here. Couldn't recommend enough. I have the second appointment of my inlay fitting next week - a few years ago I would already be getting so nervous - but I'm not even bothered!!

So happy with my recent dental treatment. My family and I have been longstanding patients of this practice. I recently had terrible toothache and when I called the practice they got me into to see my dentist on the same day. The dentist was so nice. They went through all the options available to me and in the end I decided that I wanted to keep the tooth; they did all the treatment there & then and that night although the tooth was sore I was out of pain and able to have a good night sleep. I have to go back in a couple of weeks for the second appointment but I am so happy they have managed to save the tooth. This is a great dental surgery, but as per a previous post the reception does let them down. On my very first appointment being forgotten and sat in the waiting room for two hours before seeing the dentist. Trying to book the hygienist to be told there is a two month waiting list, but on the day of my dental appointment the hygienist is free and appointment available. Coming down from seeing the dentist, paying for treatment upfront, and then having to tell the reception that I was seeing the hygienist for them to dispute this, and after eventually looking at the computer seeing that I was, and bluntly telling me to 'Go sit in the waiting room'. I hadn't even sat down when I was called back through to the hygienist.

Rude reception staff - back in March *before* the country had locked down my wife went in for her dental appointment. The reception staff looked at her as if she had two heads. "Well of COURSE we're not doing routine appointments anymore" ... okay...but they WERE doing routine appointments only the day before?! It's of course totally fine that they've stopped now, but you have to CONTACT PEOPLE (text, telephone or email!) to let them know. Saves a wasted trip. And then to have the gall to be rude (instead of apologetic or explanatory) when she turned up.

When I first attended Blossom Dental Care my original teeth were so bad. I had neglected my teeth for many years and now the upper teeth were loose and it was uncomfortable to chew. I felt nervous about making an appointment because they were so bad, my partner had to come with me. The initial meeting was fantastic. Mr Harrison really took the time to put me at ease and explain how they could help me. I decided to go for a full mouth of implants. It was expensive but I really wanted the peace of mind of fixed teeth. The result has been life changing. My self confidence is back and I can now enjoy my food again!
