My mother had an appointment for acupuncture today, we traveled from Coventry and we have to say it was definitely worth travelling this far as the service was great and Dr Hua was very friendly and made my mum feel so relaxed and helped her with what ever issue she had. All the way home my mother couldn’t stop talking about Dr Hua how great she was. Thank you Doctor.

I was extremely nervous to start with, petrified of needles. Dr Shen allowed my partner to come in with me to hold my hand! I went for fertility help, I have pcos & absent periods of 3 years. The aim was to return my period and ovulate. Dr Shen was able to talk me through it and put my mind at ease, always there to talk to or email. Very flexible with appointments (She's a very busy lady, but always accommodated) I honestly couldn't thank her enough. I started Nov 2019 once a week and in june 2020 i fell pregnant. I delivered a healthy baby! Honestly the best time i ever spent was in her company, it was relaxed, she has a great sense of humour and a genuine care.

I had 5 acupuncture sessions with Dr Shen, and came to her after struggling to conceive for 2 years. I am now pregnant! She always tried to book me at a convenient time, and the sessions lasted an hour each. The sessions were calming, and she has such a positive disposition that puts you at ease and makes you optimistic. I am sure I will be back!

Dr Hua Shen is very friendly and approachable. I used to go for acupuncture sessions about 3 years ago and felt a massive difference in myself. However I've been unable to continue since moving away but as soon as I am back in Birmingham I will definitely continue. Just remember to book sessions in advance as she is very busy which is understandable because the treatments offered are very effective and worth trying. Look forward to continuing sessions again.

I’ve been seeing Dr Shen for a few years now for coccyx pain and pelvic floor dysfunction/ inflammation and I can honestly say it’s helped my everyday life tremendously! Dr Shen initially treated me for plantar fasciitis, and rid of the problem in a few months after nearly two years of pain and suffering. I had tried EVERYTHING else, steroid injections, insoles, physio, conventional rubbish. I have severe endometriosis and have returned for sessions in the midst of IVF. It has made a difference to my stats! My IVF doctors promote acupuncture but choosing the most qualified, trained and skilled professional out there is an essentiality. You only get allocated Priory patients if you are the best in your field, Hua Shen is. I can only write a mere paragraph to proclaim to sceptics that this works, I have nothing to gain other than pain free feet and a potential pregnancy. Amazing clinic and I truly cannot thank Dr Hua Shen enough. Wow!

Months ago I came for my first experience of acupunture after a failure of an IVF cycle to try something new that I heard can help fertility. Like many others, I was very sceptical of acupuncture; however I was proven wrong. I came to this clinic and I was very pleased with the professionalism the acupuncturist showed. We had a chat about my health what I've been through and why the Ivf could have failed. From then, I began my acupunture sessions regularly and then began my 2nd IVF cycle. It made a clear difference.It controlled a lot of the side effects and I was more composed and optimistic. I was able to cope with work and home life without hesitation unlike the previous IVF cycle. Hua Shen the acupuncturist taught me to believe and to be positive about conception. After many doctors I went to, she was the only one who had faith it will work. I have now completed my IVF cycle and I am very happy to say that I'm pregnant. The journey to reach this far has been very difficult and I couldn't have managed without Hua Shen's support. No matter how busy she was or booked, she would go the extra mile to fit me in especially around egg collection and embryo transfer. I now continue my acupunture as a pregnant lady where Hua will help in controlling nausea and morning sickness. If you haven't tried acupunture I would suggest to try it at Hua Shen clinic. **SCEPTIC NO MORE** Over 3 years ago I suffered from chronic urticaria (hives), eczema, skin rashes all my body that progressively got worse, and for over a year I was prescribed every potion, lotion and pill available from my GP and dermatologist. Antihistamines of every type, H1 and H2 blockers, steroids etc, some would work temporarily, but then the rashes would return, and always more aggressively. I couldn’t sleep properly for almost a year, I had weeping sores all over my body from scratching, I just wanted to shave all my skin off at one point just to stop the itching. It just felt like my skin was on fire and the itching was unbearable. I slept with ice packs over my body each night…to the point I even gave myself frostbite, which I still have scarring from today. I got desperate and figured I had nothing to lose from trying an alternative solution and had exhausted all other conventional medical routes, and was fed up of feeling like I was constantly polluting my body with medication and steroid creams. I must admit, despite being Chinese myself, I was sceptical at first, I never really believed in it or had much faith that it would work, but I was willing to try anything at that point. ANYTHING! I found Dr Hua Shen (Shelley) via online search, and chose her because she seemed the most qualified and experienced out of everyone else I came across and she was also certified with The British Acupuncture Council which was reassuring. I sent an enquiry through her site asking if she could help with my condition because her specialism seemed to be more fertility based. Dr Shen called me back not long after and was so reassuring and comforting over the phone about how she has dealt with similar cases before and that she could see me immediately (maybe she sensed the desperation in my voice). During my first ever acupuncture experience, Dr Shen examined my condition and told me that it would probably take about 2 months of weekly sessions of a combination of acupuncture and cupping to remove all the toxins in my body and reduce the rashes. I never once felt any obligation or condition to see through the whole course of treatment that she suggested, and was made to feel comfortable to just give it a try once just to see if it helped. What transpired after my first session took me by surprise and silenced any preconception and scepticism I had of acupuncture as a credible treatment. Seriously I couldn’t believe it!!! Ok so the cupping left horrendous, almost pitch black marks all over my back (it looked like I was attacked by an octopus), but what really fascinated me was the fact that not long after the session, my skin actually felt cooler, the itching had subsided for a good few hours (which after a year of suffering was absolute bliss) and I genuinely felt like something was actually working. I was warned it would be a slow process to remove all the heat from my body, but I swear just those few hours of relief I’d felt from that first session was enough to convince me that something was working. So I went back the following week and the next…by week 3 the cupping marks were less prominent, my rashes were slowly fading and for the first time in a year I could actually see real progress. By week 6 almost all of my rashes had disappeared (2 weeks short of what Dr Shen had estimated) and have not come back since! I was ecstatic! I could finally, after a long battle, see an end to what felt like a never ending lifetime of constant itching, skin rashes and chronic discomfort. I for one cannot thank Dr Shen enough for what she has done for me over the years. I trust her completely. She’s an absolute blessing. Even after a few years, to this day she never fails to give me her complete attention during my sessions, always professional, always welcoming. I cannot praise or recommend her enough. My only regret is that I never discovered Dr Shen sooner. I could have saved myself a lot of grief and suffering. So thank you Shelley, thank you for fixing me and being the ONLY treatment that actually worked xxx
