S. &. J. G.We were getting nowhere with the NHS regarding our daughter’s (age 13) large keloid scar following ear piercing. We met with Mr Henderson and he put us at ease straight away. The procedure was done with little fuss and the process from start to finish was pleasant and straight forward. Would highly recommend and the difference removal of the scar has made is unbelievable. My daughter is very happy. Thank you so much.
T. B.James was polite and professional, I had a cyst on my face that has been bugging me for years, unfortunately the NHS wouldn’t do it so I eventually went private.
Was the best decision I made, was removed within half an hour, the scarring was minimal and redness has settled down, thanks again for sorting me out!
D. M.It sounds weird but this 5 star review is because James did NOT operate on me! After sporting a "lump" on my forehead for about 3 years, my GP identified what he believed to be a lipoma and stated that, because it was considered to be an "aesthetic" abnormality I wouldn't be able to get it removed on the NHS.
So I attended James' "Lumps and Bumps" clinic at Spire hospital where he felt the bump, agreed with the GP, and we set a date to have it removed about 2 months later. The removal would not be covered by my health insurance so I was going to have to pay for it myself.
With about 3 weeks to go before the operation the bump started to shrink, but as I wasn't sure if it would grow back I decided to wait until the operation day to say something to James.
By the time I turned up for the operation the bump was so small it was hardly noticeable. James was very honest with me and stated that while he COULD make an incision and see what was there, he wouldn't recommend it as he didn't see anything to worry about in a lump that had shrunk so much (he was sure that it was unlikely to be a lipoma as they don't shrink). He advised that while I could go for an ultrasound they cost a lot of money and we both agreed that it would make more sense just to keep an eye on it and come back to him if it appeared to grow again.
The best bit (and the reason for the 5 stars) is that despite giving me some of his valuable time to discuss it, and the fact that his nurse had already set up the theatre, James did not charge me a penny! Thank you so much James!!!

I’ve hid my skin tags for many years in embarrassment but I decided to book in after reading so many positive reviews and I’m so pleased I did. I’ve had just under 100 skin tags removed across three procedures. I was so nervous about having them removed but I had nothing to worry about. I felt so comfortable throughout the entire process and I was in very safe hands. James is so kind, caring and extremely professional - there’s no doubt that he really cares about each of his patients.
I’m so lucky to have had such an incredible surgeon to do my procedures, he’s done an amazing job! If I ever need skin tags removed again, I will definitely be going back to see James. He has helped me gain back my confidence and I’ll be forever grateful. Thank you so much Dr Henderson.

N. B.Following an incident that resulted in severe trauma to my right hand I was fortunate to be placed in the care of James Henderson and his team in Southmead Hospital. Right from the first minute I felt reassured beyond belief that my surgery and rehab would result in the very best it could be - it gave me confidence knowing I had such an exemplary team looking after me. Fast forward 8 months to my second surgery with James and the outcome is better than I was expecting.

A. W.As a doctor myself choosing a plastic surgeon who I could trust to remove a mole from my face was a priority. Having carried out a significant amount of research prior to selecting a surgeon, I continually came across Mr Henderson’s name and was met with nothing but glowing reports and now I can see why. Mr Henderson is not only a gifted plastic surgeon but a genuinely warm and kind person who treats every patient as an individual no matter how big or small the problem may be. I was most impressed with the time and care Mr Henderson gave me prior to my procedure. I never felt pressured and was encouraged to think about the pros and cons of the procedure before agreeing to move forward. Throughout the entire process I felt in safe hands as every step was explained and therefore any anxieties were dealt with early, putting me at ease. Reflecting on the outcome of the procedure I feel so fortunate to have met Mr Henderson and have him carry out my procedure, his skill and attention to detail have no doubt led to better wound healing and cosmetic outcome. I have re-gained my confidence and can’t stop smiling when I look in the mirror which in my eyes is priceless.
P. E.James Henderson has skilfully cured both 'trigger finger' and Dupuytren's on both my hands. He is very empathetic and approachable. To watch him operate was to see a master at work. Both my hands are now pain free and there are no detectable scars. Fantastic. Thank you.
J. R.I can not praise Mr Henderson enough for the incredible care I received from him and his lovely team. I was due to have a lesion on my chest removed by another surgeon but was concerned as I hadn’t been given any options other than to have a fairly big area removed or even enough information on what to expect during or after the procedure.
As I was uneasy I got a second opinion and left my consultation with Mr Henderson feeling totally and completely happy about everything. Mr Henderson gave me several options and so much clear and helpful information it was such a relief. I had the lesion removed and it was completely painless, stress free and I had a much smaller incision than I would have had originally. He was really quick to get my histology results back to me too.
The wound is healing well and I could not be happier and more thankful for this experience. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mr Henderson to everyone. You couldn’t be in more experienced, kinder and safer hands.

S.I can’t thank Mr Henderson enough for the care I have received for my hand. 18 months ago l had lost most of the use of my hand due to an awkward dislocation and although there wasn’t a clear fix for the problem, Mr Henderson didn’t stop trying to resolve the issue and subsequently trialled a new operation. I didn’t feel anxious at all about this as I had complete trust in him. I am now a year on from the operation and I have full function of my hand, although scarred the scar is extremely neat. I can not recommend Mr Henderson highly enough who at consultation recognised it was not acceptable for me to continue my life without some sort of intervention. Thank you so much.
S. J.I had a large-ish cyst removed from my cheek. Being quite needle phobic and afraid of going under the knife, I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the op went. Didn’t feel a thing post-anaesthesia, and have ended up with a tidy incision much smaller than I thought, so scarring should be minimal. Would like to say thank you to Mr Henderson and staff, who kept me relatively calm throughout. (I can be a bit of a baby with these things)

K. B.A lypoma the size of a small duck egg above my right ear lead me to meeting Dr James Henderson. That and a combo of smaller items on my back lead to a one and a half hour session of local anaesthetic and a macabre selection of removals at the end. Through out James was communicating both about the procedure and other random, interesting subjects. He approaches client engagement in a very relaxed, peer to peer conversation style and speaks knowledgable and confidently about the procedure. I would echo others in that if I had realised how straightforward it could be then I would have had it done sooner. Would highly recommend James for a) enabling appointments to happen working with my diary b) being so engaging, capable and a little amusing 👍🤕👍😊 many thanks James.

T.Removed a large lipoma from my face. Took great care to ensure it was all removed and the area kept clean (to minimise risk of infection). The actual procedure was painless and the resulting scar is minimal (and improving as time goes on). Had I known how good the results would be I would have had it removed a lot sooner.
