Tom Lawrence is a fantastic Shoulder/Elbow Consultant/Surgeon.
I have had Rotator Cuff surgery in my right shoulder, in 2014 where three of my four tendons were torn. The recovery has been excellent. More recently I had Golfers release surgery on my right elbow and a year or two later Tennis elbow release surgery on my left elbow. A life working with horses has taken it’s toll on my shoulders and elbows. Tom has a wonderful way of explaining the procedures and after them, he explains so clearly how to proceed with the after care, once you return home. He is still helping me now with a very troublesome left shoulder. I cannot recommend him enough and have done so on many occasions.

I dislocated and fractured my shoulder skiing which led to a frozen shoulder following several weeks of immobilisation. Tom Lawrence was recommended to me by my physio and he was also on the Vitality Insurance approved consultants list. Tom was thorough, reassuring and explained the options and implications to me clearly. Following an X Ray and MRI scan I opted for microsurgery which Tom completed, releasing the scar tissue around my tendons and freeing up my frozen shoulder. Following a few weeks of physiotherapy my shoulder is now back in full working order. I would therefore strongly recommend Tom Lawrence to anyone else suffering from a shoulder injury

I have been treated by Mr Lawrence on two occasions, for a release of a frozen shoulder on my left and right shoulders. The outcome from both has been the restoration of a full range of motion and associated pain relief.
I would have no hesitation in recommending the services of Mr Lawrence. The procedure was fully explained and he was always available for any follow up advice as required.

From the moment I met Tom he put me at ease. He understood that I was very worried about my injury and explained how he would investigate the root cause and the possible resolutions. Having decided that I needed an operation everything happened as he outlined. The operation and recovery went really well. It was easy to follow his recovery advice as it was obviously working. I have made a full recovery and I really appreciate Tom's care and expertise.

My husband recently had an operation to repair a torn rotator cuff. From diagnosis through to operation to aftercare we cannot praise highly enough the care he received. Tom was very personable and answered all the questions we had promptly and in a language we could understand. We were reassured he was in good hands and the operation was a success.

After suffering pain in my right shoulder i chose a meeting with Mr Lawrence who explained my options simply and clearly.
Bad arthritis doesn't go away so i opted for an operation which meant a total joint replacement.
This was arranged promptly and efficiently and within 6 weeks i was in hospital for 2 days.
For me the whole process has been great. I am now 7 weeks down the line the shoulder is pain free and i am
90% back to normal, driving , gardening and doing most jobs but keeping in mind to be sensible.
Mr Lawrence has done a great job, he has seen me twice and signed off. If I have any issues going forward i can ring him which is reassuring.
A big thanks . Charles Roebuck

I have seen Tom Lawrence for both my left and right shoulder rotator cuff issues. He is an excellent professional surgeon and a true gentleman.
He is very much focussed on his patient and easily approachable.
I would highly recommend Tom Lawrence if any one needs anything concerning shoulder and elbow, which is his specialism. He has conducted many surgeries in Mayo Clinic USA.

I elected for private treatment because I could not contemplate the NHS delays particularly in these COVID times. I was in extreme pain after more than 10 years of progressive development of arthritis of my left shoulder.
I had a full reverse shoulder replacement carried out by Mr Lawrence. From the first consultation, he gave me confidence with his professional and caring manner. He carefully explained and answered our questions and even telephoned my wife immediately after surgery to update her.
I was pain free within days which was a revelation. The follow up Physio has been excellent. I cannot thank and praise Mr Lawrence and his team at the BMI Meridian enough. Very highly recommended.

If it was possible to award more than 5 stars we would without hesitation. Every quality you could wish for in a surgeon Mr Tom Lawrence possesses in abundance. He has a remarkable way of reassuring and informing patients of the procedure every step of the way. He exudes warmth, compassion and friendliness which are always welcome at this time.. My husband had a total reverse shoulder replacement and after many years of severe pain is delighted to be almost entirely pain free after only 6 weeks post op. We would both like to thank Mr Lawrence, his surgical team and the entire hospital staff at the wonderful BMI Meriden. THANK YOU

I had surgery on both shoulders by Tom. I had a bad tear on one rotator cuff and three tears on the other.
I found Tom very informative about the problem and what needed to be done. Both operations were very successful. Even after the operations Tom was very helpful in seeing me return to a full recovery.
Very professional and understanding person. I would recommend him every time.

An outstanding doctor, with very clear direction and next steps to resolve an ongoing issue with my fathers shoulder. You can immediately tell he is very experienced in his field.
I could not recommend Dr Lawrence enough!

After years of abuse, my misspent youth caught up with me, the toll of rugby, tennis, squash and road running into my late thirties inflicted various injuries that I am now recovering from.
My right shoulder after three cortisone was completely shot, (swimming 3 times a week)
I had a 2 to 3 cm tear in my rotator cuff, my bicep tendon had teared and also the acromiun had a growth under the joint that was trapping the supraspinous tendon.
Dr Lawrence carried out the surgery, two hours later, 4 titanium screws plus lattice work to pull everything back into place, I was revived and after one night stay in hospital was discharged.
Dr Lawrence gave me strict instructions of how to handle my rehab, arranged physio that included pool work.
Following his notes to the letter, nearly 12 months have passed and now back in the pool swimming 3 times a week.
I can honestly say that Dr Lawrence was brilliant, apart from tiny marks where he went in to carry out the arthroscopic surgery, the shoulder is fully functional and you couldn’t tell all the trauma that went on.
A super surgeon and would recommend him every time for shoulder problems.

Tom was my consultant surgeon and operated on both my shoulders within a few months of each other, he was from the outset extremely reassuring and informative, answering any questions and concerns I had in a most helpful and professional manner at all times. I can’t speak highly enough of the very positive experience dealing with both Tom and his support team and would have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

I had surgery 4yrs ago with a different surgeon to correct a trapped nerve (cubital tunnel syndrome) the nerve became loose again. I spoke to 2 other surgeons who said as it was high risk surgery they wouldn't do it because I'm young. I spoke to Mr Lawrence at a talk at BMI Meriden hospital, he agreed to see me in clinic. He talked to me at a level I understood and explained he had seen cases like mine before although it is unusual for the nerve to come loose after surgery. I never felt rushed in clinic and he answered all of my questions. On the day of the operation, he explained all of the risks and benefits and did not put me under any pressure to sign. I've had this procedure done 3 times now by 3 different surgeons, and this has been by far the easiest recovery for me. I'm coming back to work earlier than I expected, he's done an amazing job

One of the very best surgeons/doctors I have met. His work was exemplary. I had to have a full shoulder replacement, I was in a lot of pain. He took the time in appointments before; whilst in hospital; post op - to help me understand my issues, what he was going to do/did do to help me and was never rushed, answering all my queries and worries. Coupled with his skills and care as a surgeon - was a easy to talk to and an all round a very kind and pleasant person. I cannot speak highly enough.
