Totally professional from start to finish. Dee at reception set the stage with a warm and friendly greeting as I walked in. She was pleasant and kind. She went over my appointment and reason for being there. My wait time to see the nurse was very little. Lee came out to greet me and showed me into the room. She was warm, friendly and professional and had a nice smile. She showed a genuine concern, listened and paid attention to my situation. She conducted my test quickly and had me on my way in a timely manner. Upon leaving Dee was there to greet me with her friendly, upbeat manner and had me on my way in a timely fashion. There was a slight problem with the payment machine, but nothing major and she handled it well. My entire visit to GP Matters was a professional and welcoming experience. I would highly recommend GP Matters to anyone. Both Dee and Lee were wonderful and should be commended for a job well done from start to finish. Mark Gilman

Highly recommended! I was in Glasgow for a couple of months without UK insurance and fell ill. I was able to book an appointment for later the same day, was welcomed by friendly office staff and seen promptly by the doctor. She is an excellent listener, explained her recommendation clearly, and we finished quickly although I never felt rushed. It's not cheap but all the fees are posted on the web site and everyone I saw or interacted with was professional, friendly, and efficient. And the meds were effective. If I need a doctor in Glasgow again, I will come back here.

Having recently discovered GP matters via google, i was delighted at the level of service provided in adding services and rearranging appointments all done by email. OGUK offshore medical certificates are possible just a few miles from the city centre and a 5 minute walk from Hillhead subway station. I have been attending for Botox injections for migraine control. Dr Carole McAlister is very professional and nothing short of a miracle maker! I had been suffering miserably for years and after the first session I had relief. I finally felt like myself again and had some hope that my suffering was finally going to stop. Above all else Dr McAlister is compassionate and empathetic, she is interested in feedback after treatment and encourages you to keep in touch with and queries or issues. Originally came to Carole for my children’s vaccinations and 6 week checks. Great service very professional and friendly. Recently attended for myself for Botox for migraines and what a game changer it has been. Suffered with migraines for year, worse during the lighter months normally have at least one migraine a week from April - October, first Botox session and 70% improvement in the pain. After the top up it’s near 95% improvement. I had tried everything for migraines and this is the first thing that has done anything for the pain would recommend to anyone that suffers from migraines

I’ve took my mum here on a couple of occasions now, in order for her to have Botox in her head to assist with excessive sweating. This had been a long-standing issue (Possibly resulting from medication she was taking) however having a significant impact on my mums confidence. This would also prevent her from going out some days due to the level of embarrassment and overall feelings of lowered self-esteem. The procedure has been a success lasting approximately 3 months and although sweats have still came this had been greatly reduced, increasing her confidence, social interactions and overall quality of life.

I’ve tried everything to control my migraines, lots of different medication, cutting items from my diet, cutting out alcohol and a daith piercing. Nothing worked and after a particularly bad few weeks I thought I would give Botox a try. It was out of desperation to find anything that would work and I was pretty sceptical. Carole was great at explaining success rates, didn’t over promise and was very professional and friendly. My migraines reduced by at least 50% if not more and were not as crippling when they did occur. I couldn’t get back in at 12 weeks for my second appointment and noticed the migraines creeping back in. I’ve just been for my second appointment and I will be making sure I have appointments at 12 weeks from now on. It may not work for everyone but I can’t believe the positive impact this treatment has had after years of trying almost everything else.

Cannot thank dr Carole enough, I have suffered from migraines for nearly 30 years and recently they have escalated in frequency and pain. Sorry for taking so long to review my treatment, just been a little preoccupied but I wanted to say thanks to you Carole I am now pain free again. The botox treatment I had has really helped with the facial neuralgia. As you know I had the treatment three and a half years ago and stupidly left it too long to return. I can honestly say that it is the best investment anyone who suffers from this kind of chronic pain can make. Also I have had loads of complements on my appearance since I had it done 8 weeks ago. The lines around my eyes and mouth have gone and the filler I got in my lips has also made a huge difference to my overall look. Thank you so much Carole I feel and look so much better and have so much more confidence and feel more positive about life. If you have to live with constant pain day in day out depression is never far away and this can affect everything you can or can't do. I am sleeping better and have been able to cut down on medications. The reduction of the side effects both these factors were having is another huge advantage of having the botox treatment.

I was lost and didn't know what to do when I visited Dr Carole McAlister because of a serious eye infection. She diagnosed the problem in an instant, it was in the evening at 1800 hrs and the pharmacy was getting closed. She called up the local pharmacy and made sure I get the medicine that evening. If you’ve ever suffered from migraine I’d highly recommend botox treatment. I was sick of popping pills for migraine many times per week since the age of 17, often having no effect. I had tried acupuncture and homeopathy too but neither helped. After doing a lot of research I decided to try botox. I can honestly say I’ve never looked back. I’ve experienced about a 95% decrease in migraine frequency. Dr McAlister asks relevant questions to ensure you get the correct treatment and is always on hand to help with any queries. I suffered severe migraine headache since my early teens and had been warned by my Dr that I was at high risk of a stroke due to the frequency and severity of my migraine. I read about Botox for migraine and decided to try it, given that I had tried every other possible solution under the sun it was an easy decision, I had nothing to lose. Within a few weeks of my first experience of 'Botox for Migraine' I noticed that the frequency of my migraine was reduced considerably and any migraine I did have was so much less severe that I was used to. I have had facial hyperhydrosis for several years now. Doing my hair and makeup, something I used to love doing has become a pointless exercise as they don’t last. My make up slides off my face or smudges and my hair ends up soaking at the back of my head. I also sweat elsewhere on my body and this has caused its own difficulties and embarrassments. Deodorants and medication did not help and there didn’t seem to be any further options, until I read about Botox being used to treat underarm hyperhydrosis. My main issue with sweating was my face it made me feel ugly and dirty. Despite trying to laugh it off, my confidence was taking a beating each time I broke out in a sweat to the point that it stopped me from leaving my house. I turned down invitations and even stopped sitting in my garden in the summer such was the shame and ugliness I felt at my hyperhydrosis. It was having a real psychological effect on me and as other treatments had failed I needed to do something for the sake of my mental health. I read more about how Botox was being used as a treatment and eventually decided that I had to at least try it. I looked around at various clinics and beauticians in Glasgow that offered Botox specifically as a hyperhydrosis treatment and eventually chose Dr McAlister because of her professional medical background over someone who worked out of a beauticians. I quickly felt at ease with Dr McAlister and I found her to be very thorough in the consultation which took place immediately before the treatment. The treatment itself took less than 10 minutes. The injections of which there must have been at least 30, stung a little but were not painful. After and for about the next 10 days my face felt numb and I sometimes had pins and needles but it wasn’t a problem. Within a couple of days of having the Botox injections my facial sweating had dried up by about 70-80% and I was wearing makeup and doing my hair confidently and able to take my neighbour out for lunch on Byers Road without fear of embarrassment from sweating. I was over the moon with it. Botox has been life changing and drastically improved my quality of life and confidence. I can’t recommend it enough:

Having suffered from frequent migraines for many years- up to 5 per week I decided to try Botox prior to a holiday that involved long haul flights. Dr McAlister was so approachable , the Botox was quickly administered and a top up was provided before my holiday. I definitely noticed a reduction in frequency which allowed me to enjoy my holiday. A very positive experience and I would highly recommend trying Botox for migraines.
