Compared with my previous GP where I had waited for 2 weeks to speak to someone about my blood test results, and no one had got back to me, this was amazing. I got through on the online chat immediately and had an appointment given straight away. The phone call appointment was as expected. Hoping that this is a normal excellent service every time.

This doctors surgery is up to date with the times! So easy to contact and finally somewhere that has weekend and evening appointments. This is how all surgeries need to adapt, we’re in the 21st century; nearly everything is open on the weekends now. I have recommended this surgery to everyone I know. Please don’t change!

Always been able to get through and book an appointment within a reasonable timeframe. Also been able to book appointments two weeks in advance on the app. All the staff have always been helpful. Had appointments for both myself, and two children and always been treated professionally, even had a phone appointment at 6pm on Easter Sunday which you wouldn’t get anywhere else. Any time they haven’t been able to accommodate an appointment they have booked me an appointment at the walk in centre nearby within 48hours. Highly recommend!

I called the service over the weekend as my daughter had to be seen urgently. I was not aware that all slots over the weekend were pre booked and not open on the day like the weekdays. Fortunately, there was a cancellation and she was seen in a matter of few hours. It saved a trip to A&E and the long wait. Well done Spectrum for this service and I hope it stays open for the future!

Fantastic service. I was so impressed that the phone was answered quickly and that I was able to speak to a clinician the same day, at the weekend. If I hadn’t been able to speak to someone, it would have meant me taking up valuable after hours care.

Never had a bad experience here the team are amazing. I’ve seen 4/5 different doctors and practitioners over the past few years, all of them have been super helpful and caring. And if they couldn’t help they always referred me to someone who could. Appointment times are quick too, no waiting for weeks like other places. Highly recommend, thank you!

I don’t usually do many reviews but I felt this was definitely worth the time… late at night on Friday I was told to take my 8 month old son to the doctors by a pharmacist. No doctors are open at the time I needed one including the one my son was registered at. I called them to see if they could help, as they are open until 11! So I did baring in mind my son wasn’t registered there and the receptionist ’Fatimah’ went out of her way to explain the registration process online and said she could register my son at that moment and get him in once she received the online form. I was in the doctors within an hour and a half… firstly thank you Fatimah. Secondly the Doctor I saw was amazing too ‘Victoria wells’ I believe her name was, she was very reassuring and absolutely amazing too with my little man… thank you all so much, much appreciated for all that you did above and beyond. It restores my faith in GP surgery’s.

Absolutely one of the best surgery i have worked in. All members of staff are kind and supportive from the directors, practice manager..ANPs down to the receptionist are very supportive. Even though it is one appointment for one ailment, the doctors and nurse practitioners always make an effort to attend to the patient's need. Very neat and welcoming atmosphere.

It's great that we can access our doctors at the weekends. I have had to be seen the last 2 weekends and think this is a very much needed service. It hasn't been a problem to be seen so i hope this service is here to stay.

I think this service is essential under the present climate, however it still seems very hard to get appointments, I really pity the older generation who are not able to access youre facilities, but thank heaven for Karen Hall!!!
Thanks for your reply but sadly your comments do not help as the nearest appointments online are over a month away. If you try calling at 7am, as I have done on several occasions by the time you get through to a person the appointments are already gone. Perhaps you could ask your IT bods if they actually check the website operation on a test system before posting it to the live system. Remember that you only get 1 chance to make a first impression and you will be judged on your worst performance not your best.

Father just joined the practise 5 or so months ago. A massive upgrade from his previous surgery.
We are currently abroad and my dad was facing a medical issue. So I called the practise and Laura Shelley couldn't have been more helpful.
Within 30 minutes she sent my dads medical records so that we could show the doctor abroad. I wasn't expecting such efficient and quick service after experiencing the poor quality of service received my my parents old gp practices.
I hope such high standards of service are maintained. And thank you again Laura, you're a credit to the practise.

I must say I have been impressed with the service from the in house pharmacy team in particular Rashmi lead pharmacist she is a real credit to the team. Had alot of issues relating to repeat medications being removed when transferring to this surgery from another town. However with Rashmi's can do approach and knowledge base she was able to resolve the issue timely and kept me informed throughout. My first experience as a new patient has been a negative one,i ordered a repeat perscription with the receptionist on weds 23rd nov,was told to allow 48 hours as is normal,i went to collect from my nominated chemist on tues 30th,6 days later as by now nearly out of medication,to be told no perscription there for me.i rand surgery to be told that they had forgotren to pass it to GP,to be signed for !! I have to wait again now ,....Not a good 1st experience ,after reading such good reviews i feel let down

This is our local practice. Since ALL the recent changes and improvements the places is transformed and in my opinion is one of the best, modern and friendly surgery’s.
We have found all the staff to. Be excellent and the doctors honestly speaking fabulous and caring.
They’ve improved their appointment system and extended hours.

I can only speak personally. I’ve had a few face to face appointments since Spectrum started, several phone conversations and experience with repeat prescription. Vaccinations have all been completed on time. I’ve received extremely good advice and support from staff and especially from the medical team. I think it’s a high quality practice offering a highly competent service in a complex area. Everything I’ve experienced is opposite to what the media would have you believe about GP practices. Excellent care; excellent team. Thank you to all the team. I should also add that the icing on this high quality cake is now they provide service 7 days a week. Absolutely fantastic. They are there when you need them.

It was my first visit to the surgery and I was very impressed by the cleanliness and bright feeling.
The receptionist was very friendly.
The only slight negative was that I waited for 30 minutes past my appointment time to see the doctor.
The board in the waiting room did explain that the doctor was taking phone consultations between patients. I have waited a lot longer at my previous doctors surgery so overall I was pleased with my first visit.

As a paramedic knowing that i need antibiotics but i cannot prescribe for myself, i needed a telephone consult to get them. I do this for patients every working day . Advised to ring 111 who will only send an ambulance to a non emergency just so a paramedic can call the docter. Im still waiting for a pharmacist to call so its going to take longer for another paramedic to get back on the road

Just like to let everyone know that my experience at this practice so far has been exemplary, from the telephone interactions to the text and email communications.
Going by some of the bad experiences of certain patients in the past, my family and I have only positive feedback so far.

This has been my practice for over five years now. I mostly had no issues with any of the doctors or practitioners (just one time being told something was in my head- got a 2nd opinion at the same practice), but I definitely saw the need for change in some reception staff, and some improvement generally. Since the changes having been made all around I can honestly say this is the best surgery I have ever been with. Everyone is very helpful, the practice has been modernised, I literally have nothing to complain about.

As ever, a very well organised vaccination session. I actually had a booked appointment and was slightly disappointed to see a long queue outside of the surgery but I needn’t have worried because I was only in that queue for around 10 mins. The staff are very friendly even putting up with one particularly grumpy senior citizen who was rather rude because he (like most of us) had an appointment and really didn’t want to queue. I thought the young chap who was overseeing the front door handled the situation well with professionalism. Well done.

Moved from Croft and what a stark difference it is considering they are only half a mile away. Croft has had its doors closed for over 20 months and I have even seen some of the doctors providing locum shifts elsewhere. No wonder I couldn't get an appointment with them. Registered with this practice on Wednesday and was seen at lunchtime today. Lovely modern facilities. It looks and smell lovely and the staff are incredibly friendly and go above and beyond. I recently transferred from Central Surgery because I can’t even get through the front door and I’ve heard such great reviews about Spectrum. I was registered in about 15 mins of submitted an online registration form and received a lovely welcoming email. I called at 3pm and they still had availability on that same day which was Sunday just gone. I called today to book my smear test and again, I’ve booked pleasantly surprised and booked an appointment for tomorrow. Lovely friendly and professional receptionists who answer the phone straight away. Blooming marvellous and lovely welcoming environment. Spectrum is the future NHS.

This was my first appointment at the surgery as a new patient at Spectrum Health.I was offered tea and coffee on arrival by Lisa and told Kerry would not be long.
I had spoken with Kerry Moore advanced practise nurse previously and had an appointment this morning.As I have complex medical needs I hoped I made the right decision in moving. to this practise . We discussed various issues after my recent surgery and medication requirements Kerry was courteous knowledgeable and acted in a professional manner.

Spectrum have a philosophy which is different from most other GP’s surgeries. They are always pleasant and helpful and do their best to cater for your need. They are efficient, too. Occasionally, things don’t go to plan, but that, I am sure, is as a result of teething problems.

Great experience with getting flu jab. Text information about flu vaccine and Saturday appointment increases access to care. Friendly staff and quick and efficient turn round of vaccines injected. Brought my elderly mother for her flu vaccination, it was all managed very efficiently and we were in and out in literally minutes. The practice is bright and clean and very welcoming however the previous day I had taken her for a treatment and although a bit of background music is nice it was far too loud and my mother who is hard of hearing couldn't hear a word I said, I asked the gentleman on reception if he could turn it down slightly and he promptly did so then 2 mins later the blonde lady who was also in reception and clearly heard me ask for it to be turned down turned it back up on her way into a treatment room I asked the gentleman on reception her name he said it was Clare who I believe is the Head of patient services !

Receptionists are helpful and knowledgeable and the doctors are wonderful and understanding. Having booked my flu jab I had a couple of weeks wait until the "flu jab surgery day" where it is meant to be like a conveyor belt (in the nicest possible way) where it's one out, one in. I took the day off work to attend as it was the only day they were doing this in the near future, I waited the couple of weeks and then attended, after a short a queue and being offered pleasantries it was my turn. I rolled up my sleeve and was then told that I wasn't eligible! I enquired why and after a few questions it appeared it was because I wasn't Vulnerable or have any underlying health reasons for having a flu jab! At no point was I told this when I booked my appointment, that I'd need to be vulnerable. I wasn't expecting a free jab, I went in the knowledge that I'd be paying for it and in fact I even offered at the time! I'm not angry because I didn't get the jab, i'll get one at some point, albeit after another lengthy wait, i'm angry because my time is as valuable as theirs and I waisted a days holiday at work, I haven't been with them long and this has dampened my thoughts towards the surgery!
