I recently had a colonoscopy at the Blakelands and overall the experience wasn't too bad . I had asked to be sedated which made the whole procedure go by very quickly and the nurse attending made me feel very much at ease. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the nurse having made 3 attempts to put a IV in me. I could see she was getting increasingly frustrated, with an accompaniment of sighing and tutting, which isn't professional and trust me it did not put my nerves at ease.

Absolutely a wonderful place so kind and considerate to patients I'm am a really nervous patient but in the hands of blakelands staff they most definitely reassured me I've been there 3 times now 1st time I had my cateract done which I have to say was wonderful 2nd time I had a gastroenterology so for me a big thankyou for making me feel so calm 😀 Mrs lesley Cullen

Had an appointment booked for 15:30, turned up at 14:25 and was seen within 10 minutes! I was discharged from the hospital before my appointment time was even due. Every single member of staff was polite, professional and put me at ease straight away. I was referred to Blakelands by the NHS and didnt feel that I was treated any differently at all even though I wasn't paying. If you have the money to pay private I cant recommend these guys enough! :)

I do not understand how there are any negative reviews, My treatment has been first class, I was treated with absolute respect by every member of staff and could only describe my experience as excellent in every way. Complete respect for Dr Hussain and his team who were absolutely brilliant.

Had an appointment today (mon) im not going to lie , i was so nervous but the nurses were really good in reassuring me. After the procedure which went well i did wonder why i tortured myself with worry . Lovely little hospital and a great team . My procedure was a referral and done on the nhs. Thanks to all of you x

Didn't actually get to experience the health care, something went wrong with the appointment. The receptionists was lovely until she saw the "NHS" on the letter... Thought I imagined the change but it was also felt by who I was with Somewhat shopping around for private healthcare...wont be choosing this hospital unfortunately

I had an inguinal surgery on 12/10/2020 and all the staff there where brilliant ..fast and on time ,in 4 hours i was out to go home,i am very pleased with the service and i can tell that it s a huge difference from a general hospital to a private one.I would recommend everyone their professional health service.Thank you very much guys!

Dupitrens op to right little finger- resulted in permanent damage, Wished I had been advised against it. To clarify, it was a cosmetic procedure and although I knew there was a risk of no improvement. The result is significantly worse than i started with. Reduced grip, dexterity and feeling. Consequently i would advise anyone, unless absolutely necessary - don't do it!

Blakelands Hospital has looked after me for about 2 years. Generally, the staff are very helpful, and the consultants are caring and supportive. Car parking is at a premium, but that is a trifling concern. 1) Orthopedic Surgery - Meniscal Tear. Very quick and effective. I did not need long to get over the surgery. Post-operative advice was very helpful 2) Cataract Surgery - There was a complication with one eye, meaning I had to go several weeks without a lens in that eye. This was due to the cataract being overripe, which could not be foreseen. The replacement IOLs are single focus (30cm). Although they have UV filters, I have found that I am susceptible to glare on bright (not necesarily sunny) days, and the lights from oncoming vehicles are dazzling. This means I have to spend a lot of time wearing sunglasses/night vision glasses. 3) YAG surgery - The consultant was very patient with me. My deep-set eyes did make surgery difficult, but he persisted. John Radcliffe sorted out remaining PCO. 4) Referral - The consultant discovered that I had a detached retina, and very quickly secured a place for me at John Radcliffe in Oxford. All in all, I would highly recommend Blakelands Hospital, but I would encourage patients to ask a lot of questions about how they will be after treatment.
