Reviews of The CBT Therapy Clinic

Since I was young I have been struggling with depression and anxiety which has had massive negative impact on every aspect of my day-to-day life effecting my friendships, relationships, -and family life. I had previously tried to get help with my problem through the NHS. My experience with the NHS like many was pretty negative with them experiencing extremely high demand at all times resulting in a lack of personal connection with the workers and overall just struggling with the methods they had for treating my condition.
Having heard of CBT as a method to treat anxiety and depression I looked into local CBT clinics and the CBT therapy clinic was one highly recommended. I contacted Rashad to book the first session and within the space of this session he immediately identified trigger areas and which type of anxiety I suffered from (I was previously unaware that their were different types of anxiety). I finished the session feeling like a weight had been lifted having found someone who seemed to like the work they were doing and I could effectively work with.
Going through the sessions with Rashad was amazing. I felt like he knew exactly what he was doing and confident in his ideas throughout the entire process even when I wasn’t entirely sure of what each step had to do with the last.
Throughout the entirety of my journey through CBT Rashad would reassure that these techniques and processes are effective taking credibility for if it were to be unsuccessful saying that he would look for another job if it didn’t work (it has).
Since starting for the first time I feel confident in my ability to socialise and knowledge that I can do anything and habituate from the issue if I follow the steps provided. This has allowed me since starting to go from avoiding social situations letting the anxiety win to doing a presentation in front of almost 300 people something I considered to be impossible to do.
For anyone considering I couldn’t recommend higher. To have been able to take control of my life and achieve these things I couldn’t have imagined achieving a year ago. I would like to thank Rashad for allowing me to do go out and take back control.

I approached the CBT clinic as I had found the effects of acrophobia (fear of heights) was having a very real and detrimental effect on my day-to-day life. Whilst earlier in life I had just been nervous in high places, I had reached a stage where I was planning my life around avoiding situations where I would be exposed, such was my anxiety of both the situation and the embarrassment of it.
Taking this first set step was one of the best choices I have ever made. Rashad has been amazing. He was able to strike the perfect balance between teaching me and letting me work things out for myself - "Go out and try it and see what happens" has been said many times! This approach has meant that I now feel in control of my thinking, and have built up personal evidence to support this.
The transformation has meant the world to me. When I first started CBT I would have anxiety climbing a few flights of stairs. Now I am at a point where I seek out challenges to practice my techniques and reinforce my new beliefs.
If you are struggling in any way with anxiety, or any phobias, I would urge you to reach out to Rashad. He can not wave a magic wand to solve it, but he will work with you to work out your personal patterns, and devise a plan with manageable steps to approach it. Having just completed therapy, I now believe I have the tools to understand and manage my phobia for life.
Rashad is personable, approachable and truly cares about his patients. I can not thank him enough, and believe I have a friend for life that would pick up the phone at any time should I need to chat.

I never really believed in anxiety to be honest, thought it was just used as an excuse. However, at the start of lockdown I started having panic attacks due to the unknown of covid etc. This went on for around 6 months and gradually worsened. I became a shell of myself. Where I was always confident and never gave anything a second thought I found myself not wanting to leave the house and couldn’t enjoy things that to the average person was just an everyday task. After frustration of feeling helpless from my mother she decided to take action against my will and started ringing around different therapists and finally found Rashad. In her words, she liked the way he sounded on the phone. (Thank god for mothers intuition) Reluctantly I agreed to a consultation where I found myself speaking to someone who understood how I felt and genuinely sounded like he wanted to help.
On the first session Rashad quickly found the cause and diagnosed me with panic anxiety. I didn’t even know there was different types of anxiety however Rash was very reassuring and had an excellent track record. I left the session feeling really positive, reassured and confident in Rash.
Moving through the sessions and following the process was priceless. I won’t lie, it had its ups and downs but Rash being the professional he is quickly acted on this and knew what to do when I was having downs. He was always there when I needed him and nothing was too much trouble. Going through CBT had its challenges, and the more things I did the more that other things were starting to bother me and new objections I had to overcome. Putting trust into Rash and letting myself believe in the process was the hardest but best thing I’ve ever done. As Rash will tell you, if it fails, he’ll take the blame, if it works, he’ll give me the credit and it’s this mentality that he has that makes him so good at what he does.
18 months on and I am currently sat in a different city, in a hotel room on the fourth floor that I had to go into a lift to get to, on my own when previously I couldn’t leave my house (Rash will understand what a big thing that is for me) is a huge achievement and I wouldn’t be here without the help from Rash.
To the people who are considering therapy, DO IT! And use Rash. I feel so lucky to have found this man and even luckier to now be able to call him a friend. I wouldn’t be where I am now without him and can’t thank him enough for giving me my life back.

Rush has been a fantastic therapist! He helped me years ago overcome some great difficulties relating to self esteem and have recently got back into contact with him! He never fails to help me process my emotions. Would recommend him to everyone!!

While in lockdown through the covid pandemic our daughter Millie became ill already suffering with anxiety. after numerous hospital visits and eventually getting diagnosed with POTS her anxiety became overwhelming she couldn’t go to school and couldn’t get out of bed , as a parent it was heartbreaking to see how she saw herself and that she couldn’t imagine being back to normal,
That was until I contacted the cbt clinic and spoke to Rashad , after an initial assessment with Millie ,I can always remember Rashad saying that if Millie was willing to accept his help he could be able to help her , I can’t tell you how this made us feel , in fact when we came off the phone I cried , at last we could finally get someone to help Millie try and get back to some normality
From the first session Millie bonded with Rashad and honestly believed he could help her , he was always there for her on a bad day she had someone she could contact and that was a big thing for Millie .
After only afew sessions the difference in how she thought about things was unbelievable things that she told me she had spoke about with Rashad seemed to make sense , she did diary’s to help her to look back on her progress and techniques that she could adapt to all situations , she started to gain some confidence and she had more better days than bad . She started to go back to school part time , and started to see her friends again ,
A year on and Millie is back at school , going out with friends , enjoying herself , the year had not been the easiest year as well as covid , she lost her Nan , but the sessions with Rashad helped her deal with grieving . To be honest I really don’t know what we would of done without Rashad he helped our family at a desperate time no one wants to see there child struggle with anxiety .we will always be so grateful to him I don’t really think he knows how much both Millie and her family appreciate everything he has done for us .
If you are reading this review it is possible that either you or someone you know could need some help , don’t hesitate we would recommend the cbt clinic with Rashad he certainly helped our family.
Thank you
Diane .

I was suffering for years with my mental health until i came across Rashad. At the start i was adamant i was suffering from just anxiety but Rashad insisted it was down to low self-esteem and as sessions continued he was correct. Rashad worked on the root cause rather than the symptoms and that was key because i have now overcome my MH in the long run and have gained so much confidence it is unreal. The sessions required patience and perseverance as nothing is an overnight success so trusting his ability ultimately changed my life especially for the stigma attached to our communities within MH. For someone who had no confidence and was afraid of any challenges, i ended up doing a sky dive during my sessions to challenge my negative thoughts and i believe that epitomises the quality of work he did with me. It was easy to open up with him due to his friendly and professional approach so thank you once again!!

I’ve worked with a number of people over the years trying without success to understand my sometimes frustrating behaviors. Rashad at the CBT therapy clinic was different from day one. After our initial session, he offered me a diagnosis that made total sense and we set about working on it together over the coming months, as a team. He supported me every step of the way and equipped me with techniques of self-reflection that have already begun to reap rewards and tackle my perfectionism.
Perfectionism is a behavior that incessantly drives achievement and which it seems our society encourages, but it is destructive to the individual and their relationships. For some it manifests strongly in their work, for others in the mundane day to day tasks like DIY, cooking, planning events. I can now recognize or predict situations when my perfectionism will threaten to take over, and intervene before I go too far. I can throttle back to 70% and that’s good enough! Thanks so much Rashad, from me and also Sarah and my kids who have also benefitted so much!

I would first of all like to thank Rashad for helping me to overcome my health anxiety.
My issues started after being diagnosed with high blood pressure. I felt devastated as I had always considered myself 'fit and healthy' and this was something I never expected. I had to start medication and I was convinced I was going to get all the side effects. I then started to experience extreme physical symptoms of anxiety and realised I had to do something about it. Drs wanted to give me more medication which I refused and decided to try CBT. I didn't know that health anxiety was a recognised anxiety until I spoke to Rashad. This immediately made me feel relieved as I felt I was unique in having these feelings! The physical symptoms started to diminish quite quickly. Therapy has shown me how to keep issues about my health in perspective. I am so glad I chose CBT and not medication.

Rashad has been a very personable, patient and empathetic therapist throughout my therapy. I first came to Rashad at the start of my PhD as I struggled with public speaking and presentations, which I really needed to tackle since it was a big requirement during my studies. Thinking it was just a fear of public speaking and perhaps a lack of confidence, I soon realised with Rashad’s help that this fear was social anxiety and was hindering me in a number of areas in my life, not just presentations! After being in therapy for social anxiety has definitely helped me succeed in my career, providing me with self-awareness and the techniques required to overcome difficult social situations. Even sending an email was a terrifying thought when I would agonise for hours about what the receiver would think about me when they were reading it, but now I mostly send them without even thinking, which is a big step!
Since being discharged in 2018, Rashad has been flexible in his approach to therapy with me, and I have been able to book sessions when I feel life has got overwhelming and needed some more guidance and help in various areas. Each time I have never regretted it and always felt so much better with his help. More recently, I undertook therapy again for a different reason. Coming towards the end of my PhD I felt very overwhelmed with the amount of work I still needed to complete with lots of upcoming deadlines and additional work commitments; I felt that it was again social anxiety stopping me from being able to achieve these deadlines as I was inconsolably worried about what people would think about my work. In fact, Rashad knew exactly how to help; he suggested that the problem was procrastination. I was very reluctant to accept this as I was worried that it meant I was simply ‘lazy’. Actually, he made me realise it was so much more than that. It was all about lots of negative rules and assumptions we always have without knowing made about ourselves, stopping us from tackling the tasks in front of us. He has helped me become much more aware of when this is happening, and I have developed lots of techniques to feel in control of my work and life, making me much more relaxed and able to tackle life’s never-ending list of tasks to do!! I will definitely be taking some of the techniques he taught me to use in every job I have!
Overall if you are thinking about therapy, go for it and definitely use this service over others! It is cathartic to learn more about yourself & how your brain works and notice improvements to your life unfold.

Very good and professional and courteous. I'm a critical person by nature so i appreciated the analysis of techniques in terms of meaning and methods as well as practical applications for applying said techniques. I feel this has helped me develop and i would definitely recommend this service.

I recently just completed my therapy, I struggled with panic attacks regularly at sudden times throughout the day, I couldn’t enter buildings or exit my house because I was afraid of having an anxiety attack in public. I was coached, mentored and taught several mechanisms that all worked to help me improve every day. The majority of my therapy was via phone call which made things easier as it meant I felt more comfortable talking from my home environment. I thoroughly recommend the CBT Therapy Clinic for their professionalism throughout my journey. It was a massive success and I have those techniques available should I need them in the future.

I was suffering immensely from generalised anxiety and hypochondria when I contacted Rashad for help. I had sought advice from previous therapists but I found Rashad's approach to be so much more effective. He showed incredible insight into my issues and delivered his therapy with great patience and sensitivity. Because Rashad was so approachable, I was always at ease in sharing with him issues that really distressed and shamed me to speak about. Within a few weeks, my symptoms were significantly reduced to the point where I could function fully for work and was far more present in my relationships. It's hard for me to describe how significant an achievement this was because I'd been suffering for about two years before I sought Rashad's help. I couldn't believe how quickly he lent clarity to my problems and showed me how to regain control over what felt like a totally unruly mind. I don't think I would've responded so well to treatment had Rashad not been so warm-natured an!
d accommodating regarding any question I had, no matter how big or small. I'd like to thank him for giving me the tools to better understand myself and for being so focused on our goals of understanding my mind and offering it some peace. These are lifelong tools that I have ready whenever I need them—I've recently managed to cope with a pandemic without the threat of hypochondria overwhelming me again. An amazing test of my therapy if ever there was one!

I started therapy in February with a phone assessment and finished in June on my tenth session. During this time, I was exposed to new ways of thinking and approaching negative thoughts in relation to depression, after implementing these changes into my life I found my having a positive outlook on life as opposed to the negative outlook I previously had.
My CBT therapist, Mr Rashad Khan, is clearly very passionate about his work and ultimately helping those who seek his help to improve their lives.
I would highly recommend CBT therapy as after completing my own course of therapy I feel as though I am a new person capable of anything I set my mind to with a completely different and improved way of looking at many elements of life.
For those who are sceptical about CBT or therapy in general give it a chance, I can not begin to imagine where I would be now without it. It is even possible to stop your course when ever you want If you find it is not working for you so there is no harm in at least trying.

I have really benefitted from CBT and would recommend it to anyone who is considering this treatment to overcome a mental health condition. I had been suffering from anxiety (specifically anxiety around travel) for a number of years and I had been on medication but I felt that I wasn’t getting to the root cause of my anxiety. I discovered The CBT Therapy Clinic and over the course of 18 months working with Rashad, I was able to challenge my thoughts and behaviours and over time improve my anxiety around travel. One aspect I liked about the CBT was that I could do the sessions via telephone in the privacy of my home. Also, the CBT background reading and techniques really helped me to understand how anxiety works and I was able to discuss this more deeply with Rashad within my sessions. Rashad’s kindness, support and understanding was invaluable to my recovery; I cannot speak highly of him enough.

I was a little apprehensive at first , I didn’t know much about CBT or many people who had used these techniques before. To add to this anxiety I wasn’t sure if speaking to a male was going to be successful or getting support over the phone. I was really struggling with depression and needed help to feel like my ‘normal self’ again. I am happy to say that I was completely wrong! CBT and working with R Khan changed my life. The sessions were tailored to my needs on that particular day. I was able to open up, be honest therefore getting the support I needed at that time of my life. Which sadly from family and friends wasn’t sufficient at that point. I continued to use the CBT techniques when I finished my sessions. I now use them sometimes when needed and know now I have these tools to support me in life. Or I would just be in touch with the clinic again requesting an appointment to see R Khan. I can not praise him enough for his time and patience.

I initially booked some CBT sessions with Rashad as I was suffering with anxiety, stress and negative thoughts. He was able to quickly identify I had issues with my self esteem and talked me through a range of strategies to help me take control of my thoughts. After just a few months, I felt much more confident in myself and was able to apply the strategies he had taught me to various ‘trigger’ situations. I have now achieved a significant promotion in my career and experience much improved quality time with family. I couldn’t recommend Rashad enough for his expertise, sensitivity, friendly style, good sense of humour and most importantly the fantastic results through CBT. Thank you!

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone thinking about CBT therapy. After working with Rashad for about 3 months, I learnt how to rearrange my thoughts to be less damaging for my mental health. Since I finished my program, I have been feeling much better about myself mentally. The sessions themselves feel more like a casual conversation, which I liked a lot as it felt more personal to my needs.

I started CBT after falling into depression as a result of struggling to cope with major life changes and also sustaining a debilitating injury. I had previously had conventional counselling to deal with a series of bereavements and losses and found that talking helped at the time but in itself did not solve underlying issues. I found the CBT approach really helpful as it is structured and logical and immediately gave me a sense of control. I was able to start to identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns which had been holding me back for a long time and this helped me gain more control of my emotions. This combined with being encouraged to identify and participate in positive activities has given me the tools and confidence to better manage future problems. My sessions with Rashad were over the phone which worked well for me as I felt more comfortable in my own surroundings. I really recommend Rashad as he was inciteful and quietly encouraging whilst expertly leading me through the toolbox which is CBT.

After many, many years of depression and acute anxiety, and despite taking regular medication for what seemed a lifetime , I hit a crisis point a few years ago that I just could not handle.
I was in complete crisis and seriously thought my life as a useful and competent human being was over, as I could not see my way out of what was developing into a complete emotional meltdown. I was doing everything correctly, I ate well, I took my medication religiously, I exercised regularly and I had no obvious problems that might be causing my steadily worsening mental health.
I was advised to look at CBT, but the NHS waiting list was very long and was restricted to 6 sessions and I wasn’t convinced that it would be of any help, as my symptoms were so extreme.
I nevertheless did a web search and found The CBT Therapy Clinic and rang for an appointment.
This simple action was the best thing I have ever done!
Rashad made some very insightful comments on my first assessment and took a very straightforward, no nonsense approach to everything, which both reassured me and gave me confidence in his abilities, and we continued to have regular consultations that have basically changed my life on all levels.
He basically recognised the problem immediately, and it was something I had never thought possible of myself.
CBT with Rashad has given me the ability to understand what was going on in my mind and how to deal, and live with it.
The use of CBT in conjunction with my medication at that time gave me the breathing space to think more clearly and do something constructive to help myself, and break the mind set I had that was causing me so many problems.
My issues were a lifetime in the making, but with the guidance I received, it is now no longer a problem that affects my life, as I have the tools to deal with it if it returns.
Do not hesitate in getting a consultation , the weakness is in denial, not in admitting you need help!

I contacted Rashad with the agreement of my 19 year old son T who was finding life extremely diffcult at university , due to him suffering with symptoms of anxiety, which was massively affecting his day to day life..As a concerned parent i was feeling pretty worried that T wouldnt be able cope at University in the long term.
Rashad spent time talking us through the CBT approach and was confident from the outset that he could support T to tackle his anxiety. I found his positivity very reassuring . Rashad has a lot of expereince in working with students living away from home and this gave me
the confidence that we had come to the right place ..
T had an inital assessment which went well and he opted to have on line sessions which worked very well for him .
T has connected really well with Rashad, , and he says that it has helped him to have a male CBT therapist .
Over the past few months T has been able to make sense of his anxieties, and thier underyling causes , and he has been supported to confront his fears, as well as to set and achieve goals,.
T has come such a long way and his anxiety levels have reduced a considerable amount since starting his sessions . He now has strategies and techniques in place, when he does feel anxious, so that he can help control his symptoms As T has increased in confidence he has been able to study more effectively and his academic grades have improved too .Most importantly he is starting to enjoy life .
If you are consdering CBT I would defnninely recommend this service .

I would highly recommend The CBT Therapy Clinic and Rashad to anyone looking to get support for their mental health. Rashad helped me identify what I was struggling with and gave me the necessary tools and exercises to help overcome it. This fit my needs perfectly as it focused on getting better, rather than the causes. He also made every session fun and interesting, whilst making it clear what I needed to do. I found CBT to be extremely helpful as it is a logical and structured way to re-train your brain. It has given me skills that I can apply to everyday life and help me through any future situations when needed. I cannot recommend The CBT Therapy Clinic and Rashad enough.

The CBT programme offered at this clinic has made my life much more enjoyable and has improved my mental wellbeing massively. Prior to CBT I was lacking in confidence and would experience regular periods of intense anxiety. The process was orderly and has worked massively in my favour. I would recommend anyone in a similar predicament to that which I was in to undergo CBT, it will change your life!

I started CBT therapy after receiving a diagnosis of depression and anxiety, feeling very low and dropping out of uni. My first assessment highlighted my problem was in fact low self esteem. Doing CBT has helped me to control my self esteem by creating a more balanced view of myself and be able to do things with confidence I never thought I could. I think the most amazing thing that’s changed is not hating who I am anymore! I would highly recommended this therapy to anyone.

After a health scare my anxiety reached astronomical levels. The CBT clinic helped me understand, manage and subdue the symptoms. Simply put "Its good to talk".......Rashid helped me dig deep to find the root causes of the brains thinking process that created the worry and therefore anxiety. We can then deconstruct, understand and ultimately break down the potential misconceptions. NHS waiting lists are huge so for me this was a worth every penny.

I had regular sessions with Rashad for about 9 months. The first few were by far the most difficult and I nearly gave up. I’m glad I didn’t as getting through the hard sessions brought the tools and progress to help with self esteem and generalised anxiety. Rashad has a great nature and is easy to talk to. I still use the tools and strategies now if I start feeling overwhelmed but I’m generally much calmer, worry less and I’m happier.

I've been working with Rashad for over two years now and it's been great. He gives you great tools to help on a daily basis and I enjoy the feeling of actively trying to get better day by day. If you feel like you've tried everything and nothing has worked in the past, give this team a shot, they might surprise you. 5/5!

Therapy can scare many people. It has a stigma to it. If your out there thinking this then you can think of it as Mind Science, as thats essentially all it is. We are not born with a handbook of instructions telling us how the mind works. But once we understand how our mind works your issues will ease off. Rashad is great at helping you achieve this. Do not be put off by the word therapy. Its more of a relaxed chat and you get some homework on how your mind works! :)

I completed my course back in Summer 2019 with Rashad. Since then, by using the techniques learned, my anxiety has all but gone. The 'switch' which we had discussed at the start of the course happened last year and things are back to how they were. I couldn't recommend Rashad and the service he provides more!

The CBT Therapy Clinic has helped me not only understand my symptoms but how my brain works and processors information. After just being discharged last week I can honestly say that I feel like a completely difference person to who I was 12 months ago. I am now so much happier and I finally have a healthy relationship with my mind and body. I can only say thank you for you support over the last 12 months.

I was apprehensive at first about having CBT and was not aware of the benefits/effectiveness of it. Having been through the course I can say that I feel like a different person, I'm still me but a version of me that can process the world in a much healthier way. I am so happy that I rang up and made the choice to go through therapy, it is honestly one of the best decisions I have ever made and I could not be where I am today with out it.
I was treated for self esteem issues (which is something I originally had no idea you could be treated for). Coming into therapy I had a lot of self hatred and unhealthy opinions about my appearance, I was not in a great place mentally. Coming out of therapy I can say that I feel like all of those issues have gone, a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders and I really feel like the world has opened up. It's strange looking back over the months that I had done CBT as there wasn't a "light bulb moment" when everything was suddenly better, instead I have moments of reflection when I realise how far I've come and how much I have changed, it's incredible.
