Reviews of Knowle House Surgery
r. s.I phoned the surgery at 8 this morning to get a prescription for antibiotics for a non emergency complaint for my wife, details were taken and promise of a call from the doctor would follow.
Within a half an hour Dr Garsdon phoned and dealt with a consultation, by 10 o clock the prescription was with the chemist.
Well done to all concerned for dealing with a non urgent situation so efficiently.
S. N.My elderly Mum has been with the surgery for approx 18 yrs and I joined last year. Whilst we thankfully rarely have to contact the surgery when we do they are a breath of fresh air. Super helpful and super efficient.
My sister and her family are also with the surgery and have had need to attend the surgery in person recently and again - fantastic service.
GP surgeries often get a bad press but credit given where credit due, Knowle House are one of the good ones for sure.

K. H.Receptionists always friendly and helpful, GPs usually get back to you same day via econsult and will see you in person same day if indicated, prescriptions are done quickly with no hassle, GPs very approchable. Overall a great practice!
C. A.Dr Peerbaccus is an amazing GP. He's just a lovely doctor who really listens and makes me feel like he cares. He's great with my kids when I've had to take them for appointments. The nurses are all very friendly and professional too, and so are the receptionists. I like the econsult service- it's easy to use and the response time is always quick. There is often a wait when calling so econsult is my preferred method, you can also do this out of hours and the GP/nurse will get back to you the following working day.
I've only had to visit a couple of times during covid but it's very efficient and they're really on the ball with their safety measures. You turn up no sooner than 5 mins before your appointment. You're met at the door by someone in full PPE who takes your temperature and then let's you in. They only let a few people in at a time so it's not busy, and the seats allow for social distancing measures. Wait times vary depending on how busy they are, which is to be expected.
Parking is good but can sometimes be busy in the smaller car park, as can the road during peak times, so ensure you leave enough time if you're travelling by car. The surgery and car park are wheelchair accessible. There is a toilet by the waiting area, which is always clean and tidy. It's also really handy having the pharmacy (Lloyds) right next door.

I deliberated for a long time over moving to a new practice and now I am really pleased that I did.
R. K.Newly registered, I work in exeter so find it hard to book same day appointments. I had to book an appointment for a months time which was as soon as i could get commuting. To coincide with this my repeat prescription was refused a week before I was due to see the doctor, because I hadn't seen one. I wasn't informed if this policy; I had to go cold turkey which they say never to do! Shockingly Awful service, the Doctors are super but the reception staff could do with more training!
D. S.Knowle House is top notch. Very professional, caring and personable. I've been to Doctor's practices all over the place. California, Norway, North Carolina, England and Wales. The GPs at Knowle House are the best. My personal GP Dr. Garstang is a lovely, pleasant and caring Doctor.
Nurses Julie, Claire and Wendy are lovely and very caring.
Receptionists are very pleasant, helpful and so very kind.

J. T.Nice staff on reception and in office. Always happy to help with enquiries. The emergency appointment system has always worked really well in my opinion. Routine appointments have quite a wait on them but you are to expect that as everywhere is the same.
L. R.Been registered there for ten years, never had a problem. Docs and nurses are great. Reception staff are typical doctors receptionists. Do what's needed to ensure those who need to be seen are.
M. B.I've always found the support staff and the medical staff to be excellent. I realise that any issues that I have ever had - such as not being able to get a same day appointment - is nothing to do with the surgery and everything to do with political factors outside of their control
