G. C.My husband and I were very fortunate to be accepted at this surgery 3 years ago, when our previous surgery in Plymstock closed, and have been so impressed with the excellent service provided. We have seen several of the doctors and nurses in person, and on other occasions, made online consultations and also received telephone consultations. The doctors have always been extremely caring, professional, knowledgeable, helpful and very thorough; referring us to be seen by appropriate specialists and to have scans, tests and prescriptions as deemed necessary. Yes, we have had to wait a couple of weeks for some appointments but the Receptionists have always been really courteous, friendly and extremely helpful - they have also responded very quickly to all enquiries which we have sent via email. For an urgent appointment we have received treatment the same day.
The online consultation form has recently been vastly improved and has made it really easy to raise a medical concern and to obtain a prompt response – it states within two days but has been much sooner, with a prescription written, ready for collection! Because we live outside of the area, we are not entitled to use the in-house pharmacy or have home visits but this is a very small price to pay for the wonderful medical provision we receive. We are truly grateful and can highly recommend this wonderful surgery.
R. W.Fantastic service tonight. Phoned at 1700 as my son had a new concerning rash. Reception answered promptly and kindly arranged for the duty doctor (Jemma Cooper) to make contact. Used the text/internet service and after a few quick fire questions and responses plus photos shared an appropriate prescription was arranged and ready to be collected before they closed at 1800. I couldn’t imagine a better service! Well done and thank you to Dr Cooper and the rest of the team.
S. H.Following a recent stay in hospital where I had a rotten time with Covid plus added complications. I was duly discharged, but later had further symptoms and wanted to contact the Centre over the weekend for advice, but of course SystmOnLIne is deeply frustrating for patients with simple questions.
Whether this is the reason for the dreadful reviews, I don't know, but with patience I telephoned this morning (Monday)and I got to see a doctor within 3 hours of the call, satisfactorily answering my concerns. I suggest few practices could do better. Furthermore let us remember, with the problems of Covid, and the the practice having to take on more patients as a result of new housing developments, I think they do remarkably well.
It must be depressing for the doctors and support staff to read those 'firing from the hip' reviews and comments.
