I cannot recommend Emma highly enough! She is extremely professional, knowledgeable and caring. The consultation process is in-depth and concise. I had a long-term issue that conventional medicine and treatment had failed to clear up. After just 4 sessions of acupuncture my main area of pain had totally cleared up! I went to the Acupuncture Lounge of my own volition in 2017, after various G.P.s and Consultants had failed to identify my particular problem. It was evident from the start that the Lounge was professionally run. I completed a very comprehensive questionnaire on my medical history, which enabled the acupuncturist [Emma Kemp] to formulate a treatment plan. Over a period of weeks Emma targeted particular areas of my body which provided me with considerable relief. I found the overall experience very pleasant and relaxing. Acupuncture doesn't hurt despite needles being inserted into your body. Emma is a kind and caring person. She has an excellent knowledge of acupuncture and Chinese medicine in general. She is a good listener and remembers what you have previously discussed. She is also very good at explaining what is happening in your body and what the proposed treatment will do. She provides ready advice on such things as diet, vitamin supplements and improvements you can make to your lifestyle. I still return from time to time for a tune-up appointment, which all helps to keep my body functioning properly. I have no hesitation in recommending the Acupuncture Lounge. You will not be disappointed.

Very professional and yet warm and caring service. The whole approach is relaxing. Emma is fully qualified, knowledgeable and totally trustworthy. She takes a detailed history and gets to know each individual client. I felt safe in this clinic from my first visit. Appointments and payments are as flexible as they can be and clearly explained and at intervals to suit clients. I started weekly and when I felt better went on to 2 weekly and soon will go onto monthly. There is no pressure to keep attending. Acupuncture helped me when I was going through a difficult, stressful time in my life. I am in a much better place now. My exhaustion has been treated and my digestion has improved. There are no weird diets advocated, putting in the needles has never hurt me and I always feel better after an hour’s treatment. I am so pleased to have taken that first step and gone along for my first appointment. I had acupuncture with Emma for over two years and she did a fantastic job at helping me manage my many health conditions. Emma and the team are so kind, caring and friendly, and are also very professional. From the moment you step in through the door it feels relaxed, peaceful and safe. Emma is so knowledgeable and is very thorough with both her intake forms and also when talking through how you've been feeling at the beginning of each appointment. She is great at explaining what she will be doing, and how things are connected in the body. I felt listened to and cared for and it soon became the highlight of my week. I started out having weekly appointments and then switched to fortnightly after about a year. I had a recurring slot at the same time and on the same day of the week so it was easy to fit into my life and I didn't need to worry about someone else taking the slot which gave me peace of mind. After nearly 15 years of lower back and hip pain, limited mobility with pain, some erosion of the sacroiliac joint and spinal and large joint arthritis diagnosis, I have finally found somewhere that has given me treatment that helps alleviate my pain and improve my movement. I have had steroid injections, a hip arthroscopy, countless sessions of physiotherapy, osteopathy and remedial massage and ever increasing NSAID prescriptions and now only rely on a monthly acupuncture treatment for pain relief. Emma effortlessly combines professionalism and compassion to give life altering treatment. Her knowledge is second to none and her help is not limited to the acupuncture and moxabustion treatment sessions but advice on diet and lifestyle changes that will be beneficial too. Prior to discovering Emma and acupuncture my pain was debilitating and exhausting. I was unable for work and life revolved around managing my pain – I now work again and think nothing of going out for a 5 mile walk. I cannot recommend Emma and The Acupuncture Lounge enough.

I had a bit of an emergency when travelling through Garstang by canal boat. My right hand totally seized up and I couldn't do anything with it at all. I am having treatment for RSI from an osteopath where I live in Northwich but couldn't get to him and this simply wouldn't wait as I couldn't even tie my shoelaces my hand was so bad. I found Emma online and she treated me later that day. What an amazing improvement by the evening. By the next morning I was back to where I was before the 'seizure'. I can't praise Emma enough. She is extremely skilled and knowledgeable (and in fact was trained in acupuncture by a highly qualified Chinese doctor). Don't hesitate to book an appointment with her if you are in pain or have a difficulty like I had.

Highly recommended. I have been suffering from back pain and had seen a physio to try and treat my problem but still hadn't been able to get it sorted. Acupuncture was recommended to me by a friend who has used it a couple of times for upset stomach and knee pain. At first I was a little unsure about having acupuncture, I thought the pins might hurt, but on the contrary I was very surprised at how little you can actually feel the pins and even more impressed by the Emma the therapist who was very thorough and understanding at working out all imbalances I might be suffering from that could contribute to a knock-on effect to the issue I needed treating.
