Jay and his family (academy) are awesome. I used to dread taking my dogs a walk due to not knowing how to stop.their barking but thanks to Jay and the academy I can walk my dogs past others without them.giving a 2nd thought. Now because of the encouragement your receive and guidance I'm looking into doing different aspects of dog training on things I never would of thought. Huge thank you yo Jay and the academy. If you not a member get signed up and I garuntee it will be best decision you make for yourself and your dogs.

I joined Obsidian k9 Academy to get to the bottom of our rescue dogs reactivity. After using the academy resources , learning to really understand the dog in front of me, being welcomed by other members and a session with Jay we have absolutely turned Jess around. This place deserves more than 5⭐️🙌🏻 Cannot recommend Obsidian enough! The amount of knowledge I have learnt in just 6 months is incredible and the support of not only the trainers but other members is next to nothing. My partner and I have a reactive dog that we were just getting nowhere with, with other trainers but we found obsidian and we just couldn’t be more thankful. An amazing 1:1 with Jay, so many videos to help guide and educate you on the website and 24/7 support on the Facebook group along with open days and division meets which is great exposure amongst people that understand what you’re going through. We have come so far with our dog’s reactivity and there’s still a long a way to go but we couldn’t of done any of this without the support of the academy. Thank you so much Jay and Jack! The academy and 1-1s with Jay have changed mine and my boys life, Cú pictured was attacked 3 times as a puppy and became dog reactive. I saw 3 other trainers before finding Jay that just made his reactivity worse joined the academy while waiting for my 1-1. I was surprised to find how much the academy helped the videos are brilliant and the groups so helpful. Not sure how you did it Jay but to curate a private facebook group full of supportive like minded people in the age of the troll is nothing short of a miracle these days. When my 1-1 finally arrived it was so refreshing Jay listened and asked me what kind of dog I wanted. Jay doesn’t subscribe to the one size fits all style of dog training I have come across in the past, yes Cú jumps up on me but it doesn’t bother me so why spent weeks/months working on fixing that behaviour when I can work on more important things. If you’re struggling with any sort of behaviour join the academy and go see Jay or Jack or if you’re about to get a puppy start off on the right foot and join you won’t regret it 100% recommend to everyone.

I've been part of the Obsidian K9 Academy for two years now and have had several 1-1 sessions. I highly recommend Jay and the Academy. I have learnt so much continue to learn and improve in my training. I joined up as my dog was very dog reactive, lunging and spinning at dogs regardless of distance and I stayed because the community is amazing and I got addicted to dog training. He is a totally different dog thanks to Jay, and all the information available.

I visited Jay for a 1-2-1 to help with my GSD's reactivity to other dogs after he was attacked. Jay discussed the issues I was having at length and gave me some great advice about other aspects of our training. He completely understood my dog and what was needed to help him with his nerve. It wasn't a one size fits all approach at all. I was taught how to handle my dog better and in a way that was fair and wouldn't shut down my dog. This allowed my dog to make better choices and be more confident in me. I wanted to get back to our enjoyable walks and for my dog to be more relaxed. It's been about 6 weeks now and we have had walks without reaction to other dogs. The other day we encountered lots of dogs and not a single reaction at all. I genuinely enjoy walking him again. It does require some work from you as an owner but I wouldn't have got to where we are now without Obsidian. Would definitely recommend . Thanks for your help

Jay was so helpful with my 18m old GSD. She can be reactive and he helped to breakdown the process and gave some excellent advise and guidance. Totally empowered my handling experience after a training session with another trainer which knocked my confidence massively. The academy is excellent, with heaps of videos from Jay and Jack and a supportive community of like minded dog owners all wanting a similar output from their relationship with their dogs.

Absolutely amazing!!!! Have been a member of the Obsidian K9 academy for months now and I don't intend to ever cancel that! The support is amazing and the 1 to 1 with Jay was hands down best money I ever spend on my dogs (and we have been to numerous other trainers for visits!). Jay is extremely knowledgeable, caring, friendly and constructive. He listens to the concerns you have and the story of how you got where you are with your dog, then you get to practical work at the 1 to 1. His main concern is the dogs wellbeing and training you as a handler and owner. Within a few days of our visit we already saw a massive massive improvement in the dogs and I have a clear plan and understanding of how to help my dogs. If you need help with training regardless of how serious the dogs issues are, Jay is the person! His understanding of dogs and his love for them is like no other!

Joined the academy in October 2021 because of my dogs reactivity towards other dogs. I'd tried other methods and nothing worked. After just 3 months of grafting and putting in the techniques she is soooo much better 😃 she's not 100% fixed yet but nothing in dog training is fixed over night. We've worked on other areas of her training too that I had never even thought of before! The academy is such a great happy place where no one is judged and everyone is so helpful. Can't wait for out lesson with Jay in May.

Obsidian K9 is an amazing training academy! We’ve learnt more about dog behaviour since joining back in August, than I have my whole life! Trainers Jay and Jack, as well as all the members, are so helpful and supportive on everyone’s journeys. Having a 1:1 session unpicks everything you and your dog need to work on so I’d highly recommend that, no matter what stage of training you are at! Then get cracking with the hundreds of academy videos that address all aspects of dog behaviour and obedience! We love the academy family!

There are 100's of Academy online videos covering tons of useful information, advice, training and puppy section! There is a fantastic online community where people share their dog training journeys, you can ask questions and get super valuable advice and support from trainers and other members. No hate, no drama, no judging! I've learnt so much since joining. Absolutely love it!

I joined the academy a few years ago to help with fear of fireworks and some nuisance barking in my older rescue dog's, the videos and advice had this fixed in no time! I left for a bit, came back no hard feelings or judgement at all..😃 I've since bought a new pup, without the academy I'd be very lost! I joined the academy a few years ago with my reactive dog Django. I had a two day retreat and Jay talked me through different ways to manage my situation,by the end of it Django was walking past other dogs amazingly! We carried on the training at home and I’m still in the academy! The people there are like family,always there for you,and the content of the training videos is second to none! I have been a member of the Obsidian k9 Academy now for 11 months, and I have finally got the training help with my dog reactive GSD. In fact, it's been narrowed done to fear and her genetic makeup. Once I understood this, I was given great training advice to tackle the underlying root cause. We are still on our reactivity journey. Our successes to date are better handling, loose lead walking, engagement, and recall. We have even started looking at obedience to keep us moving forward. Her reactive is becoming milder, and I can't thank Jay and Jack enough, and being a member of the academy is like one big family. The best support from like-minded folks, who never judge, but instead are right there with me and Quinn all the way. This is exactly how dog training should be. The online academy has been a lovely and welcoming place to learn with a wealth of content, as well as access to the Facebook group and division group chats. The groups have been a reassuring place to share progress stories and ask questions especially in situations that can feel isolating. I strongly recommend anyone training their dog to join the online academy!!

Can’t recommend jay enough. For pet behaviour work or the more advanced side of stuff like sports & protection this guy is an over flowing cup of knowledge & experience. I started a few years ago learning. Taking unfortunately the wrong steps ( in my opinion ) in learning with online courses etc. but when joining the academy few years ago everything I learnt in my courses was explained to me and easier to understand with just watching a 5 minute video on certain theory’s of learning. I think people will benefit more with there money going to see trainers to pick there brain and learn from them and jay is certainly one to learn from. So be it your seeking to gain more knowledge in becoming a better trainer or a dog owner with behaviour problems and need a trainer to help you your definitely be investing your money well.

Absolutely fantastic trainer! Very well knowledged, helpful and willing to listen (many times) to me when I’m having issues. I’ve actually booked in for another session even though I don’t think I NEED it, just to go over everything and make sure we’re on the right path. (It’s 115miles each way) I’ve seen four trainers and a behaviourist prior to joining the academy and having a session with jay, and he’s helped me more in one day than the previous trainers have over the last two years. The online academy is full of great people with so much experience, also willing to take time to help you. 11/10 would recommend. Can’t wait for my next one to one!!!!

With other groups I’ve been a part of the owners of those academies are unreachable and you get minions ( office staff ) that reply generically. I took my 8 month old pup to see jay a few months ago for his issues with reactivity. I couldn’t walk him on the lead without him barking at everything, spinning, pulling and getting himself so frustrated that his eyes would become bloodshot. Within 20 minutes of arriving at the facility, jay had my pup walking perfectly on the lead with no reactivity whatsoever. Jay is amazing at what he does, always answered my questions and is extremely knowledgable in this field. I wouldn’t recommend any other trainer, as I know for a fact jay will be able to help you and your dog no matter what the issue. I did sadly have to have my pup put to sleep due to medical issues, and jay was nothing but supportive and helped me out so much; and even offered to pay money for petrol when traveling to and from the vets! You can clearly see that jay has a passion for helping dogs, and it definitely portrays in his work. He is definitely worth every penny and I can’t thank him enough for what he did for me, and for my pup whilst he was here.

Bumped into jay accidentally on tik tok, and then followed him professionally, he has a Facebook group and has set up divisions all around the UK, he has wrote dissertations on dog behaviour and psychology, the man knows more about dogs than dogs themselves. He has made an amazing academy where you take the learning on yourself, and there are hundreds of videos, I cannot recommend this academy enough, if you have questions he answers them, allows you to send videos in so he can critique you and guide you. Seriously, this place is a one stop masterclass in dog behaviour management, and yourself, I would say if you have a reactive puppy, go to him, but I’ll say, if you have a dog, go to him! This expertise needs to be common knowledge! Jay also has a private area to conduct 1-1 training, and it’s hands on, it’s such a good safe and clean environment to train, he will also get his dogs out, which I’ll tell you, you’ve never seen a dog behave this way! The ok9 academy allows all members to discuss training and ask questions to guide and support one another. After struggling for months & months with my dogs reactions to other dogs getting worse and worse I decided enough was enough and I needed professional help. However, I found that most trainers local to me are not that willing to work with an ‘aggressive’ Rottweiler and then I found Jay through a post shared on Facebook. I looked through his before and after videos of dog reactive dogs and I knew he would be able to help me get back on track. He was based 3 hours away and had an 8 week wait for his next appointment but I am so glad I waited and travelled because it was 100% worth it. I will admit I even said to myself before going that there was no way I’d get the results I’d seen in his videos in just one session (we had been pretty much avoiding dogs as much as possible and not walked down the street in nearly a year by this point) and I couldn’t have been more wrong. Please scroll through his Facebook and take a look at ‘the naughtiest dog we have seen in a while’. There is no quick fix, there is still a hell of a lot more work to put in but to see that there is a glimmer of hope and ‘avoiding dogs’ isn’t forever is an absolutely amazing feeling.
