a.Fern and her team are truly amazing and really go the extra mile. They are responsive to the needs of both the owner and their puppy, and are always kind and never judgemental. This has been so different from my previous experiences of puppy training and I would highly recommend the classes. The written guidance is also extremely useful in between. I have been so grateful for their guidance and support with Milo, my somewhat nervous and sensitive fox red lab, and he is making real progress. I am now looking forward to continuing our journey at the F2 classes!
s. h.We started our journey with Fern and the team a few years ago, our second dog, Barney, was anxious in almost every situation a dog could be in, from meeting new people and dogs, to horses going past our house or any animal appearing on TV. With Ferns help and continuous support, this year we managed to enjoy our holiday, taking Barney to a busy seaside resort where he was happy to sit on his settle mat and watch the world go by. We have also progressed through the classes and he is now able to be in the school yard with other dogs. We recently got a puppy and have started Hattie on her way to becoming a thinking dog, but the real joy is Barney is able to play with his new friend with little anxiety , we have had ups and downs but Fern and the team have guided us through with patience and knowledge, we would highly recommend Fern and the team without hesitation.

Your dog won’t come away immediately responding your commands like sit or stay, instead, by putting in the time and effort, your dog will choose to do these skills at the appropriate times as they’ll understand what is needed in certain situations. Charlie is now able to look at other dogs without reacting he is Calm and listens to me when we are on a walk . Emails are responded to very quickly, I am able to WhatsApp Fern if I need advice or to share something positive. My dog was in a shelter for 6 years and had multiple issues with socialisation with people and other dogs. Since working with Fern, he loves having people come to visit the house and he is much calmer and happier generally. We are still working on his reactivity to other dogs but he’s come on a long way in a short amount of time. We love going to the Saturday classes and plan to continue the progress we’ve made.

G. J. 1.Fern is currently helping us with our bouncy 18 month old yellow Lab. We’ve had several one to one sessions in the home where Fern listened to our challenges (being over excited, lunging, jumping up at people, pulling on the lead) and we’re now attending weekly classes. The class we attend is the perfect environment for our dog as the space is well thought out where she can relax and focus in her own space - rather than spend the entire session trying to get to other dogs, thus achieving very little!! Fern is always on hand to offer helpful constructive tips for you to practice and doesn’t judge. She provides information booklets and is good at responding to any issues you may have by email/text between sessions. Fern is very calming and gentle - just what our dog needs, and indeed has a calming influence on us too!! She really makes you think about the connection you’re making with your dog and in a way that the dog works out for themselves what to do rather than being told. We’re beginning to see a change in her already. We were losing our way but now we’re back on the right path. We’re so glad we found Fern and we highly recommend her!
G. M.Our 2 year old German Shepherd dog had been showing increased instances in aggression which eventually resulted in him biting. Fern was absolutely brilliant and managed to find out where the aggression originated from which shockingly was down to the puppy training classes we had attended which had adopted the use of choker collars and leads. We have made several changes to our training methods, our dogs diet and he now walks with a harness. We haven’t had any grumbling or growling since but if he does, thanks to Fern we now know how to handle the situation.

B. M.Highly recommend training with Fern, she is an incredible trainer! We take our cockapoo to her Thinking Puppy Programme. The programme focuses on teaching social skills which is fantastic and something I think all dog owners should be taught.
Even with everything going on Fern is still committed and doing our classes on Zoom which I am so grateful for and she is always available to answer any questions over text, giving fast replies.

Instead of forcing the dog to make him do something she lets him work it out himself. Her thinking dog method is great! A. H.When you find yourself not having a clue with what you are doing it’s wonderful to meet someone who makes you feel at such ease. We are the proud Mummy and Daddy of a Swiss Shepherd called Dave. To be fair we had dogs as kids but have never had our own fur-baby as adults. As you would expect we are full of love for Dave but we are also a bit hopeless when it comes to training him and allowing him to think for himself. Fern has a fabulous way about her in the way she guides you and stops you from feeling silly. We know Fern is training us too (we possibly need it more than Dave), but we love training with Fern because she makes us all feel calm and she truly appreciates Dave for what he is which is a timid little boy in a big dogs body. Fern is such a find for us and she has given us the correct environment for us to keep ourselves and our little boy well behaved and less anxious. Fern goes the extra mile, she’s even found us a home from home for our little boy when we aren’t around. Let’s do the professional stuff now - Fern is punctual, she keeps in contact all along the way, she does what she says she’s going to do and most of all she works with total professionalism. Yes, she loves dogs and what she does but she also appreciates that in terms of contact, etc. she has to run her behavioural training sessions as a business too. We’ve now had two sessions and have made massive inroads with Dave and we’ve booked a further three sessions and then we’ll see where we go from there. I can honestly say, we are much happier and so much stress has left our lives after just two sessions. Thank you Fern!

Fern is extremely intuitive and understanding of the dynamics of a dog and it’s household and she devised an extremely comprehensive behaviour programme which has produced very swift calming effects for us all! The teenage classes are very focused on the individual needs of the adolescent dog and each week there are comprehensive resources for further reading and homework! K.Fern is a lifesaver to us, we have a 7year old chihuahua boy called Bono, the last 2years have been a nightmare for us, as being attacked by another dog Jack Russell an struggling dragging Bono into the air with lead twice that happened, anyway he had lost all confidence going out, very anxious with people, aggressive if touched, so become very isolated which was draining for us as new this wasn't him, even didn't want our company, until Fern stepped in, teaching us how to read him, knowing when to an not to touch him , eye contact small rewards , its now over 6months and he's alot more confident ,an more relaxed, an the old Bono coming back, but it's still a work in progress for us an him but getting there, and it's all thanks to Fern x

I have two dogs that Fern has worked with on a number of occasions due to one of them having a fear of quite a lot, but especially other dogs and animals. When Fern first visited us I was truly amazed at how she picked up on such subtle signals given by my dogs as to how they were feeling and she helped train me to know how to alleviate the negative feelings they had. This lady truly speaks dog and although my fearful dog is never going to get along with all other dogs we meet he is 100 times more sociable with most now and we are even able to walk and play with friends dogs which would never happen before Fern.

l. f.amazing services. Had big problems with both my Labradors. I could not walk my one year old at all due too him always pulling and dragging me down the street. Just after three lessons he is walking perfect.my 10 month old needs abit more work due too been very nervous and stressed but he is a lot better behaved now fern showing me what too do. The first phone call, I told her how desperate of help i was and how several dog trainers just said they wont help till i pay up for sessions first, fern was streight up with me, told me were i was going wrong and was very friendly about it. And told what i can do to improve. Fern also told me also options to her services in which im not obliged to do any, but in mean time till i decide who i want to help me and my doggies she gave me loads of free advice and leaflets out the kindness of her heart to help me on my way to start off with untill i find someone.

C. W.The Animal Assisted Interventions Course is a great course for many people in different disciplines who have a common interest and/or thought of whether a dog could be a candidate for AAI. Fern Ember’s knowledge of dog behaviour is invaluable to get an understanding of a dog’s energy levels, temperament, age, health and enjoyment of any type of activity. Her emphasis on developing an understanding of the dog’s behaviour regarding the dog’s welfare with the consideration of a dog for AAI is paramount to the success of AAI.
For me personally I also gained a huge amount of knowledge from Fern regarding behaviours of my newly adopted rescue dog with positive force-free behavioural training, which I have taken home and now utilising so that he can be the happiest well-rounded dog I wish he can be!

K. S.This training has been life changing for my dogs, one is a overseas rescue and was scared of life, now he gets to live and enjoy being a dog. We are now starting to untrained 9 years of bad training with my jack Russell and we have progress already. Definately recommend :)
