Reviews of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home
H. B.
I can't praise Battersea enough . I applied for a rescue dog earlier this year. We adopted a lovely 9 month Lurcher /Collie Cross who has absolutely changed our lives. If you are looking for a dog or cat please think about Battersea , they are amazing , caring, knowledgeable people that match owners to pets. Can't recommend highly enough.
B. S.
She's 10 years old today our Ruby Tuesday (was roxxy) joined our family at 2 years old and we couldn't love her more she's our wonder dog thankyou so much battersea for allowing us to adopt such and amazing pooch

Had to re-home a cat. Battersea and the Harrow Cats Home were the only two that would put him on a waiting list. Battersea accepted him within four weeks and were excellent. Very supportive and understanding from phone calls, emails and in person when handing him over. We have a reference number and phone number to check on his progress in trying to find a new home.

So great to renew my association with Battersea. My aunt was the architect who designed the 1960s home where I got my first dog.
Max is our third Battersea dog and the care and attention they gave him meant that we have got the most wonderful new member of our family. Second full day today and he is settling in well.
K. B.
Everyone that helped us find our new little fur baby was lovely and kind. You can tell they all really care about all the animals that come into their care. They are all more than happy to help and knowledge on how to introduce our new kitty into the home. Their vets and nurses are amazing and it's clear the animals get the best care before being rehomed.
N.
Great place the staff are so friendly and welcoming from the main gate all the way through. Kept me updated on Poppy's well being during her operation which put my mind at ease but I knew she was in good hands. Thank you Battersea. ❤

Excellent Dogs & Cats home.🐈🐕
If anyone is looking for a pet please
go along and foster a Dog or Cat🐕🐈
I went there a number of years ago and got a wonderful dog from them.
Please give a donation for the wonderful help & care of these animals.
It's a superb organisation👍😀🏆

I was going in hospital for major surgery, and it wasn't sure if I would make. I rang Battersey to see if anything could be done for my dog and cat if the latter happened.
They were so kind and understanding about the situation, and got back to me the same day with a way my dog and cat would be collected and re homed together.
I'm 5 days out of hospital doing well, and am the happiest mum that I got to see and be with my babies....
THANK YOU BATTERSEA DOGS AND CATS HOME FOR ALL YOUR HELP.
I'm very glad I didn't need you, but really appreciate your kind thoughts and help.
K. H.
Lovely, thoughtful staff. My new cat came with a sleep pyramid and some blankets he'd been using that smelled of him already. This helped him settle really quickly.
J. P.
Wonderful, we had to try and get our 8 year old cat rehomed as we were sadly unable to keep him any longer. We did not hold out much hope at his age, but they found a suitable home for him within four weeks. The cats are cared for very well and they kept us informed throughout. The whole team at Bettersea are simply the best.
M. D.
We were successfully matched with a beautiful greyhound through Battersea. She has fitted in to our home really well and has found her place in our family (and on the sofa!).
S. S.
Just an absolutely wonderful experience and service. Adopted a dog who had come in as a stray, and they've gone above and in our meetings with her, the pickup (where we got so much stuff to start us off) and also the aftercare. Can't recommend enough, what a fantastic charity!
C. B.
Very conflicted. Obviously they are doing great things for cats and dogs! Wonderful work. But they serve meat and dairy at their fundraising events. Do you want to save the animals or do you want to kill them for a sandwich...
P.
Lovely place, exhilarating atmosphere and courteous staff. While being here you have the pleasure of meeting these fluffy creatures while also having the knowledge that one of these beautiful things could once become yours!
A. H.
What an incredible inspiration this place and the people that work here are..
The work they do to support all species of animal is undeniably selfless and they need all the help and support possible.
Keep going everyone xx
M. N.
Very small and cramped...bit scary being that close to people
M. H.
Good people doing a good job in difficult times.
The staff should be proud of what they do every day.
Our new cat Benny is loving his new home .
J. P.
Staff are super friendly and you know from the environment that they care. Only main issue is when picking up your new furry friend locating the parking isn't clear as much as I would like. Overall amazing and keep what you guys are doing up!

I hardly saw reviews on people giving up their cats, so I hope my experience with them can guide you into choosing Battersea.
I sadly had to give my baby boy because of marking issues that could only be solved by finding him a house without other cats. I was terrified of euthanasia, I read reviews here bad and good. It was scary, but the Cattery team was so kind and gentle with us. They did not judge and when I had to bring him in, I got the time I needed to say goodbye with a parting gift with his favourite things. I'll never forget the woman telling me: "you are doing the right thing". It was the right thing, as he found a much better home that is much more suited to him. They answered my questions, they empathised with me. They treated him with a lot of love and care, taking care of his health and well-being.
Battersea is amazing and I wouldn't choose anywhere else to turn to for help. I wish I could give a 100 star review, but Google only lets me give 5. Thank you.

Purchased a t-shirt for myself, great fit and for a worthy cause. Very easy website to use, tracking facility for parcel received in good time.

It was the most incredible expereince. Still have mixed feeling, as I wanted to adopt all of the pets there, but couldn't. Also the staff is really kind and gentle, I remember a lady reading a story to one of the dogs, it melted my heart.
C. P.
Amazing work done by lovely people, rehoming a beautiful cat has been an amazing experience, and something I wish I'd done sooner. If you have the love and the space then this is something I would recommend wholeheartedly.
S. P.
I got my new pet about three years ago and is a blessing. She turned into a lovely dog and if previous owners socialised her, she would have been a dog that you could have taking on holiday with.
K. T.
Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is an incredible place. The staff are so friendly and give such care to all the animals looking for a new home. It's best to register an interest on line and then book an appointment in order to rehome a cat. The staff will try to match your personal circumstances to a suitable cat. Battersea is a place full of hope. We cannot thank the staff and volunteers enough. THANK YOU XX
A. K.
Adopt don't shop. Cats and dogs of any age and breed. You know what you are getting in terms of temperament and health. Staff are fantastic. I'm proud to be owned by a Battersea cat.
J. C. A.
I still haven't found my ideal rescue dog. Thank you everyone for your ongoing assisdtance, in my search. You guys are amazing. Thank you do very much for all the animals that come your way
Big hugs.xxx
L. I.
My dogs were in great distress because of the fireworks. And battersea dogs home said we should play classical music. Well it's amazing how well it worked. I can't thank you enough. My little dog was hyperventilating but after 10 minutes she started to relax and within twenty minutes she was asleep, so were the other 2 dogs. Lol. I will play it more often now. Yours sincerely Lesley.
D. H.
Amazing charity, lovely work caring for dogs and cats. Easy access to building and the whole Rehoming process was easy and professionally handled.
G. B.
I deliver here often, security is quite tight but word very friendly. Our cat died 5 months ago after 16 yes 5 months together and I miss her everyday, yet when I go here it's all I can do not to venture in and take another home because we are great parents ( I think) to our little pet. We haven't got children, but one day I may just bite the bullet and bring one home to love for the next 16 years.
The Buxton company that I deliver to is great to me,always polite and that goes from the MD right to the gate-man, I really appreciate that because a lot of sites are quite rude and I just want to get in then out but I look forward to going here and chatting for a few minutes. Thank you to Buxton guys and a massive thank you to Battersea dog and cat home for the brill work you do,if you ever need any help then please contact me. NOT JUST WORDS I MEAN IT XXXXX
s. h.
Amazing place full of great staff, and lovely animals...such a good cause! The staff was so friendly and helpful when finding the perfect match for me and the dog! I now ! I now own the most gorgeous puppy and she is the best thing in this world I have never been happier! Thank you to the volunteers and workers at Battersea for bringing Ava into my life and giving her a second chance!!
J. T.
So very caring. Gave us plenty of time to get to know and play with our dog before taking him home and if I needed anything they were at the end of a phone. Wonderful people ❤
B. W.
Very informative, about the dog we took home. Nothing was ever too much trouble, plenty of time was given to introducing the dog, so we could have lots of bond time with him and play time.
L. I.
We went to Battersea London to view a dog we were interested in. Her name was Sky and she looked perfect. We were introduced to her that same day and my husband and I fell in love. We went back on the Sunday morning to get better acquainted, she even remembered us from the day before. We were over the moon when they said we could her that day. We were told she didn't travel too well but she made a two and half hour journey no problems. Thanks to all the staff at Battersea London you do a fantastic job.
D. S.
Such an amazing shelter. The team are a bunch of absolute stars, very helpful and kind. We haven’t adopted with Battersea yet but have been there 3 times, trying to find a cat that my partner won’t be allergic to. They are very patient with us and they give us as much information as we need. Usually we spend up to 30 min with a cat in the cage and take little blanket home to test for further reactions. Unfortunately no lunch for us yet. I would really recommend that you come and visit them. They also have amazing cafe on site :))
E.
My boyfriend and I wanted to spend an afternoon looking at cats and dogs. We paid a £2 every fee each without booking, and spent as long as we wanted looking at the animals. There were plenty of cats and dogs to be seen, and they are all looked after very well and professionally. Workers who socialise with the animals do so with love. It is wonderful to see how well kept they are here. Staff are so kind and friendly, and will speak to you about the animals. It was a lovely afternoon and I hope to one day adopt from here.
D. L.
Needed advice on introducing both our 8 year old cats to an 8 year old poodle we have inherited, who will be moving in with us.
Left a message on the answerphone and the cat team rang me back with as much guidance as possible and sent some fact sheets too. The young lady then requested the dog team to call me aswell. Luana, too was most helpful and positive and the call was most encouraging.
Thank you for all your words of wisdom and I really appreciated the time you invested in assisting me.
Many thanks again.
Dena

Telephoned this place, to enquire whether they would interested in taking blankets, cotton duvets, etc. This place is extremely busy, and it was sectional telephone system, took long time being passed from one department to another. In the end had to look for an alternative place to the donations.
This also has cats
Following is article taken off Google website.
"Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, now known as Battersea, is an animal rescue centre for dogs and cats. Battersea rescues dogs and cats until an owner or a new one can be found. It is one of the UK's oldest and best known animal rescue centres. It was established in Holloway, London, in 1860 and moved to Battersea in 1871."
C. L.
Cats and dogs waiting for homes are well cared for within the constraints of the limited space available. Friendly staff.
p. j.
lovely gent named Kaya knocked and asked for help for Battersea. All a great cause.
We will donate online and thank you for doing good
J. E.
I've known about the great work that Battersea have been doing for years so it was a great pleasure to visit this week to find out more & meet the team. They helped nearly 7,000 animals last year & reunited over 1,000 animals with their owners as well as re-home over 4,000 animals. On average 9 dogs & 7 cats arrive at their centres every day. I’m thinking about rehoming soon & can’t wait to be more involved in supporting their amazing work.. 🐱 🐶 🙏🏾
V. D.
A much needed place of safety for these poor Animals. Interesting site, easy to navigate.
H. W.
Love this place, although there should not be a need for it, if we really are a country of animal lovers... But they do a fantastic job, along with Paul O'Grady 😍
S. l. M.
Excellent !love your dog and take care.
M. S.
Adopted the worlds goodest girl from Battersea. They are a great place to find a pup. Provide lot’s of advice and information and are very helpful even after you have taken your pup home.
K. M.
Battersea dogs home is a good rescue center. As a family who has rescue dogs over 3 battersea centers for the past 30 years, are last visit to Windsor left us underminded. The staff seem very opinionated, not one sings from the same sheet, can come across extremely patronising. Completely agree the worlds gone a little deranged over the past 18 months, but my first time at the Windsor branch has left me with a feeling of snobbery. Think i will stick to London battersea and Brand Hatch when the time comes to rescue again.
D. T.
Considering adopting a dog from here I'm still waiting to hear back from them but apart from that they are absolutely amazing people
N. S.
Recently adopted a cat from Battersea and the team couldn't have been more helpful. I had been registered for a few months before being contacted, which to me demonstrates that they take matching cat with owner very seriously.
The team was super helpful and very thorough in their approach towards rehoming. They carried out dental work, and vaccinations before they would send the cat to me, all at their own cost.
Since I have had my cat, they have been very supportive, offering advice and answering questions.
I would highly recommend Battersea and will rehome from them again.
M.
Caring organization. Looking after unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats. Bless them all for their kindness. The website was informative and easy to navigate around.
V. Y.
After registering at the Old Windsor branch we went to the London Battersea Dogs and Cats Home to meet a lovely kitty we had reserved. The matching process is robust and well thought out whilst maintaining the individual needs and personalities of both the cat and prospective owners.
There have been criticisms that you need to keep looking yourselves for a potential match rather than being called but the website is updated daily, sometimes it changes during the day so they're really quick to keep it up to date and it is easy to see that many cats get rehomed every week but unfortunately that many more cats are ready to be rehomed as well so we were confident we would find a match although understood it could take time to find the right match.
We have the gorgeous and extremely well behaved Timmy living with us now.
The staff are friendly and very personable, hard-working and committed. Shout out to Claire and Meg who we met when we picked up Timmy.
W. L.
They do an amazing job, all the staff should be praised for all the work they do in trying to rheometer and care for the animals in their care 💪❤
E. K.
Very nice caring people, good place fir animals.
B. G.
Awesome place, do amazing work and have helped so many little furry creatures find a good home, these guys are well worth your support
D. T.
Went to collect my kitten Arnold. Upon arrival got seen to quickly. Staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The sight was very clean.Procedure in adopting may take some time due to COVID and short staffed.
Just be aware that the entrance is near a corner and it's not well advertised.
J. P.
Brilliant at what they do, extremely helpful. With the guidance and information i obtained from these guys, i was able to successfully put my dog up for adoption(one of the sadest moments of my life and one of the toughest decisions i have ever made) and found him a lovely caring team of people to take care and ensure the best possible outcome for his lifetime here on earth, the worlds truly blessed to have people out there like Battersea, All Dogs Matter, and so on, they simply do noy get enough credit in my opinion, keep up the good work, all my best to you guys. Take care
B. B.
Incredible charity, always choose a rescue. We have a rescue yorkie and he is the best little character ever
A. D.
Lovely caring staff . Looked after my dog very well when she got out.
J. W.
Absolutely great charity with some great staff. They look after the animals really well and have a great range of pets looking for a new home . We were after a couple of kittens , Battersea asked more questions than our local breeder and really cared about where they were going to. RESCUE IS BEST !
We adopted a couple of kittens , came with a few days food , 4 weeks insurance, neutered , litter trained and fully vet checked over for a donation that was much less than if i had gone to a breeder. Thank you battersea Hex and Boo doing well
A. M.
Fantastic sadly this old boy has passed away when I'm ready to rehome again I know the staff will be caring kind and considerate
M. D. j.
A shelter that knows what they are doing with their online presentation. Very clear, warm and personal descriptions for every animal.
M. H.
You so want to give all animals a home from thi website.
L. V.
So helpful and professional. Clearly have animal welfare as the top priority.
C. B.
Must make sure that your decision to own a a cat 🐈😻and most importantly a dog 🐕is a majority family 👪decision because if it isn't then owning a dog should not happen!!!!!🤚🤚🤚❤
P. 1.
Such friendly and helpful staff, even though I had to give up one of my beloved dogs, the staff were very sympathetic to my circumstances and was in no rush to push me out while I said my goodbyes. Lovely environment the dogs are so well cared for at battersea
D. B.
I have adopted two dogs from here and it was a fantastic experience every time.
M. K.
Quick, easy and worth it. I rescued a German Spitz and it was a lot cheaper than a breeder would have charged. You get a medical card with all the info on jabs etc that your dog has had. Plus you can call them any time to ask questions or for advice.

J. S.
Such an amazing place full of really friendly, helpful staff and volunteers who take time out of their lives to help and give the beautiful animals the love and facilities they need. It is nice to go visit the animal shelter and entry is just £2 which goes towards the running of the facility. You can also leave donations and buy some items from the gift shop all helping towards Battersea Dogs & Cats home.
D. L.
Incredible staff and a very easy and well explained journey to adopting a lovely new dog
H. S.
Animals are taken such good care of and the volunteers are so friendly. The quality of the kennels and cattery cages was phenomenal. Deserves a lot of support!
l. G.
Not impressed by the super struct rules. We get that checks need to be made and the well being of the animals should be paramount but after one year of wanting to offer a loving home to a dog, we still do not have a new family member yet....its rediculouse when so many are in need of someone to love them......other than this I cant moan and they do great work.
M.
Amazing staff amazing friends for life dog or cat
f. w.
Visited years ago. Super place. Animals very clean and well cared for. 🐾

P. C.
Loved my experience the staff are fantastic and the dog treated so well
A. F.
There web site is easy to use and they are clear about there cats likes and abilitie to fit in with family life
C. W.
So far rehoming a dog from Battersea has been a very positive experience. Especially compared to contact with some other animal charities. They are approachable and committed to their work. At the time of writing they have few dogs but we have found a lovely greyhound. We recommend them.
C. D.
I got an older cat approximately three months ago from Battersea. He was very fiesty when I got him home at first. I think this was because of the change going from a cattery to a home. Soon settled down. Everything Battersea told me about the cat was spot on and now he is a very happy content cat. He gives me lots of love and I adore him. Thanks Battersea I would recommend you to my friends and family no problem.
M. Y.
Good website to find a dog or cat a good home
r.
I adopted two cats from Battersea in 2016 and it's one of the best decisions I ever made. Battersea took amazing care of their health while they were there.
R. C.
Battersea dogs and cats home are very friendly and will help and support you in choosing the right cat or dog.
D. M.
Well I'm really surprised that I'm being asked to review Battersea dog's and cats home.
O only was looking at their website. But i have been there, many years ago.
So i gave it 5 stars on my opinion all that time ago.
I love animal's and i think that the people there do a great job.
F. A.
The adoption process can be a bit awkward, but I guess it's in the animals best interest. Me and my housemates adopted this kitty. She stood up when we were told we could take her that day.
S. D.
Total dedication to the care and wellbeing of dogs and cats. Highly recommend if you are wanting to adopt.
J. R.
Please keep sending your donations they do a excellent job
C. B.
We got a kitten from Battersea and the staff were so friendly and caring! The whole experience was great! Thank you!
J. H.
I have a wonderfull dog from battersea.she was called ginger but is now called sadie.i saved her she saved me.😁😁
E. H.
No. Good if I can not choose my dog
P. H.
As one of the countries oldest rescues they are worth a visit to any of their 3 sites. Old Windsor, Brands Hatch or London. Don't buy a puppy or kitten re-home you'll be surprised how many beautiful pets end up in rescue. Want a pedigree go to rescue, want a mature pet, go to rescue. Want to make a difference to a pets life guess what go to rescue. Battersea does a great job but they need support and homes for pets.
M. B.
Never been but from what i have read and seen on TV theses people are amazing for the time they give to each animal
E. D.
Friendly staff. Adorable animals. Thorough checks for rehoming their animals which is great. Also a really nice small cafe onsite.
J. F.
I love battersea they do a fantastic job and will always support them
M. B.
Omg the roast dinner was lovely and the portion was great. Enjoy it very much. Would recommend to my family and friends.
D.
Supporting them monthly with a direct debit of £5 per month for all the hard work they do for dogs and cats. Their literature, videos and website are really helpful and practical.
P. L.
The staff are so knowledge, really care for/about the animals they're helping. I would recommend Battersea Dogs & Cats Home for anyone thinking of adopting a pet.
D. W.
My daughter got her dog from here. Lovely people, very helpful

S. D.
We adopted our dog from Battersea. We did not save her she saved us. Fantastic place. Very helpful staff.
P. P.
I haven't visited for a year due to lockdown but when I was there the conditions were amazing. Staff were so friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend you look at Battersea to get a pet if possible!
s. l. 4.
Very good communication, empathy and understanding,Thank you so much for all you have done finding my Henry a new home .
m. m.
One of the best places to take your loved pet if you can no longer take care of him/her. The staff is amazing
J. B.
Amazing place and people ...fantastic work this organisation do for cats and dogs
S. M.
I had to unfortunately give my dog up for adoption and they were very understanding and kind, didn't judge me, explained everything to me, what would happen with my dog and gave me plenty of time to say goodbye, nothing was rushed, I can also get updates on how my dog is settling in if I want. I am very impressed with their service and obvious passion for what they do.
M. S.
Great experience and a very worthy cause that we will continue to support.
C. L.
Came across by coincidence, but loved these little cuties here. Happy to see how they were cared by the staff :-)
L. N.
Went on line completed the form to be declined or should I say no match. I have had a number of different dogs growing up, I also have a big house with garden and parks local.
F.
Wouldn't be without our big dog. He was picked up, assessed and rehomed to us quickly. I know not all dogs are out the door that quick.
N. C.
I was lucky enough to take part in a study for a university here on cat & human interaction. Spent a lovely 2 hours getting to meet some of the cats & staff. Just a shame I couldn't take all the cats back to Devon with me! The little private apartments the cats each have are spacious & have everything they need. All the cats were very well looked after & happy waiting for their new homes.
b. e.
Had a call to register my interest for adopting a dog very friendly young lady called and went through my details and discussed the type of dog we would be looking to adopt very helpful
R. B.
Not many dogs or cats to see. That's probably a good thing. The entrance fee, at £2.00 is minor and goes towards a good cause
J.
went to look left sharpish
the dog buisness is booming
not my cup of tea
G. E.
I have not visited Battersea as it would be so very sad and I would want to take all the animals home. I do donate on a regular basis as I think they need as much help as possible. They do a fabulous job.
C. A.
Had 17 wonderful years with our family dog from here. She was a wolf hounf cross collie, such a beautiful well tempered dog. Will always use Battersea.
K. P.
Loved all the pets and the staff are so friendly
J. M.
Great charity .the staff are so caring and ensure all the Animals welfare needs are met with very high standards. A good charity to donate to.
K. A.
Great rehoming center, rehomed my cat from Colson way SW16 1SD after neighbours beat and urinated on my cat.
C. H.
A brilliant place doing brilliant things for dogs and cats.
W. O.
I am amazed at the facilities and expertise in this building. The fostering training they provide is excellent and the staff are very friendly, helpful and appreciative of any assistance. The stray and abandoned pets in London, couldn't ask for a better team to look after them. Technology such as cameras being used and the vet and other facilities and treatments for the pets means they are so much better off when they arrive and they have a good team to ensure their new home is suitable. Keep up the good work.
C. K.
Website easy to navigate and plenty of information regarding dogs.
j. s.
I am hoping that i can get my old lady hydrotherapy, i spoke to them and am just waiting on a vet referral.....they were wonderful to speak to
D. M.
It's already world famous because of a great TV series about it's work but Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is s great enable of what an animal shelter should be. Caring, friendly staff and volunteers treat all the animals with care and respect. They are open every day for visitors, even those of us from far away. Great place.
P. D.
Heartbreaking what people do to animals. I wish I could give them more money and take all the animals home. Hard to walk away from those pleading faces but a good wake up lesson for all. Hats off to the amazing staff and helpers. 5*
L. S.
User friendly website. Easy to find the information you're looking for.
B. D.
Great place for rescue cats and dogs. We liberated one of the longest residents a very sweet little black cat called Pixie
d. m.
Can't wait hoping to get a lovely companion from the good people of Battersea cats and dogs home
K. R.
Superb staff, superb place. Filled in an online form before our visit, happy to pay the modest entrance fee. Met by friendly professional staff, had the opportunity to view all the dogs, had an informative and frank assessment by Sophia (who was brilliant) to identify which dogs could be suitable for us and got to meet and walk the dog we had specifically traveled up to see. Sadly, for personal reasons, we decided that the time was not quite right for us. However, when it is we will definitely be back to Battersea.

If you want a pet, consider rescuing one instead of getting one from the breeder. The job they do here is fantastic, the animals are giving the best care before they find a great home. Think about how you can I ask you a pet and bring some love into your family while giving a new home and lease on life to a beautiful cat or dog. if you're unsure about doing it go in and have a walk around, the staff are really lovely and they don't mind people dropping in to visit the animals if they're trying to find out whether an animal is for them in the first place.
J. F.
The organisation and website is one above other rescue centres in its care and information to potential new rescue owners. It is a world recognised brand who helps on an international scale. The thought and work of the staff on the website is fabulous. I wish them all well.
T. S. C.
We got our greyhound Sophie from here in November 2018. From first making contact with Battersea to adoption was only about two weeks. The staff are really friendly, helpful, and diligent (we had our interview with Frankie and he was ace). They also have a genuine love for the animals which is clear throughout. The facilities are excellent and we had plenty of time to meet Sophie and play with her, meet her vet, and make sure she was right for us. I've read some negative reviews about the rehoming process and I don't think these are fair at all - they are stringent with their checks purely to make sure the animals go to the right home, not to be difficult.
P. B.
I left contact details regarding a cat that needs rehoming and was informed I'd hear back within 3 working days. That was 10 days ago and am still waiting...
G. D.
Wonderful charity that needs everyones support. Always adopt dont buy, plenty of love in a rescue animal. If you can offer a loving home and time please consider a rescued animal.
B. J.
Absolutely loved Battersea dogs home they do phenomenal work brilliant people so I'm selfish and the little beauty is that they have in there really need our help to come on people do what you got to do I am fed up of hearing about people just turning up and wanting to see animals that is not the way it works you have to book make an appointment there is a reason for this which I don't want to go into detail over but you just have to understand and trust the vets and the workers that work at Battersea dogs and they know what they're doing and they will get to you you when it is your turn but until then please just be patient and when people slam doors the staff and let's look at each other and say oops there's somebody else not happy but how do you translate that to the animals you can't there is not enough staff for them to open up the doors to comfort the animals so please next time you want to raise your voice or slam a door please think again I strongly hope and advise everyone that has anything to do with Battersea dogs cats and animal home to give a gift in your will when it comes to Wills and probate you have to understand that's so much of the money gets caught up in solicitors fees that you might as well just give a little bit anyway every little helps you don't have to give your whole house just a little bit it and it will make the difference thank you very much for your help good luck guys
A. M.
I visited here with my son who was interested in getting a dog.He had lost his dog in 2017 and was looking for a new pet. The staff there were very friendly and welcoming and he filled out a registration form and we then went to see some of the dogs available for adoption. The home was very nice and the dogs had plenty of space in their kennels. Although we only saw a few - there are many other to see online so as not to make the animals nervous to have people just staring at them. The only thing I was concerned about was the lack of parking at the Home.
F. W.
Have been to Battersea and Brands Hatch branches, they work so hard looking after all the animals and also to get them rehomed. The animals are kept in really comfortable and clean conditions.
C. G.
Each time I've been, there have been very very few cats and dogs. Last time there were just 3 dogs and 5 cats. The time before that, even less. While, I'm sure this is great in terms of adoption, the website showed a lot more choice. Bit hard to see how the kids react to animals. But not much that can be done, I guess. Staff are extremely friendly.
b.
The work the home does to care, protect, and educate is astonishing. Their love for the animals in their care is only surpassed by the owners who walk out the front door with them. There is a full vetting process for finding the right family for the right animal ultimately leading to some very high success %. We dropped off a stray kitten that was found on the streets of London and within a week a loving home was found.
S. S.
They are just amazing !!! We have rescued several dogs and they have all been such lovely family members to us. The write ups and care the team take to place the right animal with the best suited owner is brilliant.
S. M.
I have only looked at this online, some really acute dogs
d. b.
great professional and quick service. The team in Battersea helped us find an amazing dog. It has been already half of the year after adoption of our pup and we are already thinking about another one to join our family. Thank you!
X. C. A.
It’s really lovely to see that this place really takes care of all the dogs. You really see how happy they get when a staff member goes into their rooms to keep them company, and they feel at ease whenever they come in. It’s so sad to see how many dogs and cats need new owners, but at the same time it’s good to know that they’re in a good place and that this shelter is actively doing things to take care of them and find them new, loving homes :)
L. P.
Fantastic place. The staff were all super friendly and happy to help however they can, and I was surprised by how little it cost to adopt a beautiful kitten.
Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to find a happy new fuzzy friend. :)
N. S.
Nice place. Mostly nice staff, one was rather abrasive. Bike rack, if you cycle up, can be hard to find. Ring first because the process changed to an appointment system from when we applied to when we went to finalise our registration.
D.
Keep up the brilliant work. Animals rely on us more than we can possibly imagine and we must look after them as stalwarts and stewards of the Earth.
J. S.
No ezperience but recently supoort the work you do by monthly donation. I had a rescue Border Collie from RSPCA and did Agilty with him in tbe 90"s. He was tbe LOVE OF MY LIFE . These cats and dogs kbow when tbey are given a loving home because tbey give so much back.❤
L. 4.
Well run, and every care is taken to ensure the animal's physical and psychological needs are met.
M. O.
Great charity. Really helpful
J. V.
If you like dogs and cats then you'll love it here (obviously). You can register and they keep your details on file and then call up as often as you like to see if they have any animals in that would suit your situation. We were spoken to by a very nice and helpful rehomer.
L. E.
Great place, friendly people. Love it.
H.
A lovely cattery. My cat was very happy there.
M.
I bought Xmas Raffle tickets for some friends in lieu of Xmas presents so it might be a win win, fingers crossed. The home makes money to help the dogs & cats & my friends might win a prize! All for a good cause
J. “. P. M.
I don't like having my time wasted and the interview felt like something that could've been done over the phone. Also I wasn't allowed to see all of the dogs available and overall the visit which was meant to be a happy occasion was a massive downer on my day. Even the dogs I did see in the viewing gallery looked sad. Do better...
K. C.
Staff are fully committed to the best experience for the animals they have care of, which means that everything is calm and well run. Absolutely everybody was friendly and needless to say the dogs are absolutely adorable
r. j.
Brilliant great people very understanding and caring. Brilliant organisation really care about your pet offer great care
S. P.
I keep seeing their posters here and there and wanted to pay a visit. It's pretty close to the Battersea park and occupies an impressive sized area. Entry fee is £2 per adult. The dogs are kept in small enclosures which looked comfortable and warm with toys in them. Each enclosure had a brief introduction about the dog enclosed in it which was good. But what broke my heart was seeing the sadness and longing in each of the dogs eyes...
C. K.
I have nothing but highest praise for this lovely and highly respected animal charity.
They're hardworking, dedicated and so amazing.
J. L.
Amazing place, that does phenomenal work, and where I got my beautiful Lily. She passed recently, but I would always go back, as rescues are amazing animals and are so loving.
E. S.
I have been there once and it's a lovely place but, full of sad little faces of animals that need love and a home.
R. B.
The staff are really friendly and helpful and clearly care alot about the animals they look after. The process of finding our perfect cat was a very straight forward and rewarding experience, I would highly recomend getting your dog or cat from Battersea. They can get quite busy though so schedule a good amount of time for your visit!
S. K. K.
Very easy to browse and search for pet. Lots of advice and information about how to look after your new adopt pet.
M. W.
I got my Working Cocker Spaniel from here after a lot of to’ing and fro’ing. In the end I was pressured into taking him after seeing him just one time through the bars. As a matter of fact that suited me but may not have worked out well for the dog. It could potentially have distressed him or also ended up with a bad match. The reason I thing I was pressured is because they had him reserved twice with people who dropped out. Turns out, I got lucky, he’s so lovely and loving.
In all though this place does great work. Through them you get jabs for life and you get a sense that they’re really well looked after here.
K. M.
I recently attended some training at Battersea Academy to help other rescue centres across the country with their fundraising. The trainer, Margaret was excellent and very knowledgeable about obtaining money from grant making organisations. We had a tour of the centre while we were there, the animals are well looked after and the accommodation was really clean.
A really great charity all round!
C. F.
Fantastic experience. I can not put into words how wonderful the staff were. Really friendly and helpful from reception staff to the animal handlers. They all have genuine care for the animals. I just want to say THANK YOU.
G. G.
Great charity. Great place to get your next dog or cat and make a huge difference to their lifes. The staff here are fantastic, friendly, helpful, patient and very understanding. And the place is very clean and very well kept.
M.
Bitter sweet I guess
Sad music was being played which adds to your guilt and you want to take them all home smells of dog obviously. It's a nice clean building and the staff are welcoming.
P. D.
Great place that does amazing work. Visiting costs just a few pounds, and your can go look at some of the dogs and cats up for rehoming. Be aware though that there aren't many animals on display as the experience is stressful for them.
L. B.
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere, sit inside or outside by the sea, with a view of the Needles
A. S. T.
Thank god we got such a wonderful place to help the poor dogs and cats which end up there looking for their forever home
!. g.
Yes they do great work. Have donated a few times so they can carry on doing the work they do . The tv adds are good for you make a donation.
B. M.
We went today to Battersea.Dogs and cats got a lovely living areas. Everything is very clean . Staff is very welcoming. Hopefully we will soon find our perfect dog .
T. M.
Never been there.
Cant fault the work they do.
S. S.
I've not bern for years, but I admire the wonderful work they provide and will ho this to adopt a doggie x
G. K.
I support Battersea 100% but can't help feeling they don't seem to have enough stock or are sometimes just too strict on people wanting a dog. Everything Within reason of course.
C. C.
Just called their contact number to get them to remove me fro mailings I had never asked for only to find I've been charged £1.50 for the privilege. Not happy. Puts me off donating to them if it means they're going to start sending me unsolicited junk mail and then charging me to have my details removed from their mailing list.
R. C.
Good website. Amazing work carried out to help our homeless dogs and cats.
R. B.
For a 2nd hand dog or cat, Battersea is a great place to find a healthy, well assessed addition to your family.
A. W.
i have never been here in person but i have been online and saw all the animals on there website. i have also saw Paul o'gradys For the love of dogs on tv and i would love to adopt but got enough animals :) but i would recommend to anyone if they want to adopt an animal.
B. T.
This place is a godsend for all those poor abandoned cats and dogs in London. I go there to bring donations in food and towels which they always need. Also always buy something from the shop as the money goes to support the structure and they always have nice things to buy anyway. I hardly ever go inside to see the animals as it just breaks my heart but kids love it and they learn a lot of interesting stuff about cats & dogs.
M. H.
You can tell they take care of their animals here. I've visited a number of times and they're fine with that even if you're not looking to home an animal, you just need to donate £4 or so. Be prepared for most of the dogs being Staffordshire Bull Terriers of some form or another, but that's no fault of the home of course. If I was in the market to home an animal, I'd come here first.
S. B.
Love the place everyone seems really friendly plus it is run for a great cause. Unfortunately there was not as many dogs to see (unless you had gone through the registration and booked a visit) as i was expecting. But worth every penny and would definitely recommend anyone near the area to visit as the money is going towards a great cause.
S. J.
They do a fantastic job x
G.
This is the best place ever, they do such a great job rehoming dogs and cats, they take in anything and everything, my wife and I have had 3 dogs from them, all staffies, Jessie, Kim and Queen. Queen or Queenie as we call her, is great, she loves all other dogs, loves people, she has changed so much since living with us, now we live in southampton, she gets lots of walks by the sea, she LOVES it. Highly recommend you get your next dog or cat from Battersea. To all the staff there, WELL DONE GREAT JOB.
D. D.
they waste a lot of money posting a magazine to me over the last 13 years I didn't ask for it and have never read it maybe the new owners to my house might like it.
received one phone call in 11 years asking how the dog was doing then quickly change the subject to a fire in the cattery and would I like to donate thought that was awful.
I would definitely go there again though, when I got the dog I thought they were brilliant. I would love to take on an oldie this time but the possibility of major vet bills do put me off......would be good if they helped with them.
O. L.
God bless these people for what they do I was to attempt to adopt but my mental health nurse and housing officer declined on the grounds that when I have a bad day and can't look after myself how can I look after the dog . If I get well enough to have one IL adopt a Maltese terrier or similar a nice little dog :) . I believe it's just before Nine Elms Lane if your coming from Wandsworth to Vauxhall it'll be on the left just before the old South London mail centre run by royal mail.
C. R.
Retrieve a rescue dog from here. Such a beautiful place to be. Heart goes out to them all. Wishing I could keep them all.
C. C.
I came here to get advice about removing a dog. The young lady who spoke to me was very helpful and understanding. I also popped into the cafe for a coffee and a slice of cake. Very nice and reasonably priced.
A. C.
Battersea is one of the best animal charities in the UK. They take such good care of their animals and really care about their welfare, mental as well as physical. The facilities are top quality, and all staff are very dedicated. Battersea goes out of its way to find good homes for their animals. Disclosure: I am a volunteer cat foster carer for Battersea - I look after cats that are anxious in the cattery and need a quieter environment.
S. A.
I have read some of the reviews and was very sceptical about visiting, however my daughter really wants a puppy so I thought I would brave it. I must say it was a pleasant surprise. The Staff were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to see if there was something that they could do to help.
n. N.
I visted for an intake. Super clean was my first impression. I arrived half an hour early and was allowed to sit in the waiting area. Was seen Dead on the allocated time. Very friendly staff. Very understanding and non-judgmental.
M. G.
So many one star reviews on here because Battersea puts the needs of the animals ahead of the wants of the some selfish customers. Yes customer service is important but not more important than the welfare of the animals. Amazing staff doing a great job. Keep up the good work!
C. M.
Just answered their appeal for money for dog beds, and it was lovely to be able to do it in memory of our dogs that are no longer with us.
K. S.
Through no choice of our own we had to give our much loved cat to Battersea for rehoming. I can't begin to explain how kind, understanding and non-judgmental the staff were. They thoroughly explained the rehoming process in some detail, gave us reassurance and promised to keep us updated. During the month our cat stayed there they promptly replied to my emails with updates as to how he was settling in, and when he was rehomed they were able to give us some information regarding the type of family and home he had gone to which put our mind at ease. We cannot thank this amazing charity and their lovely staff enough, we will continue to donate on a monthly basis to show our gratitude for the wonderful work they do.
P. B.
Hoping to rehome our third dog from Battersea soon. At a loss to understand the negative reviews posted here. We have always found the staff at the home caring and intelligent. The vetting process is obviously necessary and you manage it really well. Thank you for being responsible and caring
S. W.
I love visiting here though it breaks my heart to see the animals in cages as I want to take them all home. I got my first dog from here many years ago. The staff are great. Lovely to visit even just for an hour or so.
K. S.
Very good care from the team and surgery I sadly had to gift my sweet pug for surgery has caudent pay for it but I'm very heart broken has you would think I could have her back home with me instead of finding another family to take her but the policy states that you can not have your butiful dog back even though I would find cost to help get her back home please let me know what I can do in these seconds
M. L.
Great place, but shame about lack of parking facilities. Especially when you have to make several visits before having a pet released into your care. And with the Congestion Charge and if you're unlucky enough to subject to ULEZ charges... well, it ends up being a pretty expensive few visits.
P. W.
Excellent work done good site to visit if you're looking for apet
C. H.
Busy, great smells of spices from around the world. Exciting, safe and a great experience of Soul traders. Worth a visit if you're near by. Use the ferry across the creek an experience in itself for 1 DRM!
G. T.
There is a small selection of dogs on public view, mostly the same breeds (pugs, staffies, frenchies etc) - which are not to my taste. I think they should try to show some of the other breeds to offer them a fair opportunity of adoption also.
If you visit, you pay a donation upon entry (normally a couple of pounds) which goes towards the upkeep of the venue and all the animals it houses. I have done many charity raising events for Battersea Dogs - but if you visit, take a tissue as you will want to go home with all of the dogs with their puppy-dog eyes. The staff have always seemed really kind to the animals also - I would be happy to re-home a dog from here for anyone looking to adopt.
G. J.
Went to Battersea to pick up Mimi the cat, very impressed with the new building and friendly service by the staff
F. L.
Always trying their best for the animals that is clear
R. H.
Battersea Cats and Dogs Home is an exceptional facility. My wife and I throughly enjoyed our day visit and were happy to pay a small entrance fee to help support the charity. Although we were not in a position to make an adoption at the time of our visit, seeing the high level of care that the charity provides means that we would not hesitate to adopt from them once we are in a position to do so.
The food served in the on site café was also to a very high standard.
V. D. C.
Such a lovely rehoming centre. I visited with my daughter and she loved seeing the animals. They seem to be so well looked after and the registration for rehoming process is personal yet straightforward. Friendly staff too.
C. G.
Very friendly and caring staff, good facilities and the animals are well looked after. The dogs' section is a bit more sterile and severe when you compare it to the cats' section, but that's clearly done for a reason.
B. J.
The staff were very helpful and they gave us lots of information. We are very happy to welcome bella into our home.
S. B.
The staff were unfailingly helpful and helped me to choose the perfect cat. She's been with us for several months and is very much part of the family. Thank you, Battersea!
K. N.
If you've never adopted a pet before, Battersea Dogs and Cats Home should be your first port of call.
The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about all the animals, and give you as much time as you need to make your decision.
I walked out of Battersea with the most adorable kitten called Mimi; she came spayed, insured, and with 3 months vets cover to put my mind at ease.
Can't recommend it highly enough!
ศ. B.
Our visit today was wonderful and we particularly enjoyed visiting the cat zone. The staff at BDAC homes are very friendly and helpful. Hopefully when we visit next time we will register with a view to adopt a cat. All in all it was a lovely experience.
p. n.
a very nice place although sad when certain dogs and cats dont get picked i got my dog from there and shes gorgeous i admire all the staff that work there they really look after all the animals thank god we have this home for all unwanted pets nice friendly staff as well
A. W.
Great place to spend the arvo on a Saturday, £2 entry fee but well worth it. The centre is very well organised and you could see how much care and attention the animals were getting so that was nice. Very clean environment. Will be back to find our furry forever friend.
E. M.
To create postcards or drawing, writing everything you want to do with pencils...its an interesting place.
D. N.
Excellent place. I got a dog here and they were very supportive. They are fully transparent through out the process and are as helpful as ever
J. A.
Helpful and friendly, hoping to adopt a doggie very soon.
S. C.
What a fantastic place and what great work they are doing. If you are looking to extend your family, look no further than here
J. P.
Battersea Dogs and Cats home is a beautiful place where you have a variety of different breeds of animals if you wanted to adopt an animal that's the place to go but only if the animal is for life
S. H.
It was a simple process from arriving at the site to leaving staff where visible during our visit walking dogs which must have been part of the rehoming process thanks again for your help cari g for and finding a loving home for a loved family pet
R. M.
Thank you for rehoming my dear Felix! 😀🐱
a. h.
Today we picked up our dog Geordie. He has in settled in so well. We cannot thank the wonderful staff for all your help. You are amazing! Thank you so much
h. d.
Had to put my cat down sadly. But I guess the staff are great.even if i only met and spoke to 2.
D.
Great place for those cute dogs and cats, they were treated with great care while I was there. However, there weren't many animals and most of the cages were empty. Will visit again. Cheap prices also in a busy neighbourhood.
S. D.
😻😻😻 Pawesome cats and dogs. I wish I could adopt them all. Lovely shop and nice customer service team
J. P.
I got the best dog in the whole world from battersea. He is my best buddy. Best behaved dog in the vets. He gives the vets his paw every time we go. He is quite the gentlemen. Thank you very much battersea. Keep up the good work. Love you lots xxx. I could never replace my dog
S. B.
Big park...lots to do nice cafe sell beer
Playground bike and boat hire
..small zoo...riverwalk...go ape...
What more could you want.
M. B.
Visited their website but unfortunately no closer at finding someone to talk to about adopting a dog so sad. Very sad
H. Z.
This is an extraordinary rehoming centre for cats and dogs. The level of care provided for these animals is quite simply outstanding. Staff are excellent and very helpful. Cannot recommend highly enough!
T. T.
Nice friendly people. Not many dogs on display as they take the approach that having the public walking passed can cause stress. They therefore limit the interactions and choose the dogs that seem most at ease. Probably about 10 to see when I went in. You can look up online to see all dogs availability. Interesting special treat for me of the old catery which is designed by Clough williams Ellis bloke who designed portmeireion, or to those of us that know....the village. Be seeing you.
R. H.
Mixture of emotions as it's well run but sad there are so many unwanted pets there. Don't buy new give a rescue a chance.
V. R.
I went there because I love "The optimists of nine elms", where you can see also Battersea rescue home For dog and cat, renewed and Very beautiful, clean, and comfortable For Pets.
S. L.
Popped in for a visit. Lovely experience all round. Battersea do a wonderful job in restoring our four legged companions who've had a tough experience. Terrific work.
D. M.
Always amazing people to help me with my feral kittens. If you are under stress because your love for animals, you will find there someone who will have the patience to listen you.
M. N. T.
This is a Dog's and Cats home, absolutely spotless, organized to guarantee flowless comprehensive prompt service for those looking to adopt, but also welcoming no non-sense affective organisation to help our 4 legged friends. Well done!!
H. D.
Having not been in a position before to take on a cat, when I visited Battersea, having already registered on line, they took time and care to match me with a cat, Jody, who has now been with me for five weeks and brings me great affection and company.
C. W.
Kind, compassionate, and simply a wonderful charity, doing their best to provide shelter, love, and future homes for otherwise homeless animals.
N. W.
We have just bought Ben home from Battersea Old Windsor. This is second dog we have rehomed from Battersea and we have also rehomed a cat. As always the process was easy, and thorough. They care about the animals and that is why they are detailed in checks etc.
Seeing some reviews people are not happy at not getting the animal they want. Trust me they know their animals and can match you up, just take their advice.
R. S.
I met Fatima and Jolanta today in regards to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and their consideration for animals shows how genuine Battersea Dogs and Cats Homes really are. I will definitely visit Battersea Dogs & Homes in the near future. Thanks a lot ! A few of my colleagues will make a contribution as well !
F. W.
I just wish I could save ALL older dogs xx keep up the good work x
A. S.
Just a great organization that takes care of and rehoming dogs and cats

Lovely warm atmosphere and great flavoursome food
A. C.
Fabulous place and experts at placing animals in suitable home. Family is complete thanks to Battersea
k. c.
Amazing Staff, who clearly do this job out of pure love for the animals here.
N. S.
We have rehomed two beautiful staffordshire terriers from Battersea, both of whom are now very happy and loving pets. Battersea have been totally helpful, friendly and professional throughout, and everybody there clearly cares a great deal about the cats and dogs that come through their doors. Cannot recommend them highly enough. Thanks Battersea!
L. S.
Hi there, well all I can say is that it is very clean & well run , we found it important to speak to a councillor who gave us invaluable advice about how & what we had to consider, which changed our thinking about how to go about getting what we want .
Make sure you have all your information correct before going there as the vetting is very thorough
C. H.
You can pay £2 on the door and go in and see the cats and dogs who are looking for their new homes! Highly recommend popping in if you're near by, there is a cafe and shop too. :)
L.
Great place! Amazing what these people are doing in here. Please everyone consider taking a cat or dog from here before you go to get a new pet!
E. L.
You can say hello to dogs and cats for small entry fee. There was some kids in cat’s room tried to be a new family of the cat. Good place for everyone.
R. A.
Fast and great selection of healthy treats, prefer giving the money to a good cause too!
J. H.
I adopted PAWS the cat from here. I was utterly impressed with the professionalism of the staff, the high standard of accommodation they provided for the animals, and their knowledge of each of the cats available for adoption. Am a lifelong supporter now! Highly recommended.
d. b.
One of the oldest charities in the world. Give a rescue dog in need a home instead of buying one. Great place, who do wonderful work & really care about their Dogs & Cats.
S. S.
Fantastic staff (Thanks Jess), would highly recomend going - they helped us find 2 suitable baby kittens for our family home.
P. H.
Visited website which was very helpful
P. L.
Just to say thank you to all the staff at Battersea Dogs and Cats Home had a fantastic wonderful day so glad I am a benefactor to your wonderful work high praise to all of you love and respect Paul and Mum
P. P.
Paid to get in and to register with BDCH offering to rehome a dog. Had been told to take proof of identity and photos of garden but none of this was asked for or checked. Not many dogs in kennels so little chance of seeing something suitable. It's now up to me to keep in touch to see if anything suitable comes in. Website is disappointing as many dogs are marked Rehomed or Reserved yet they are listed when searching for available dogs, why? Not overly impressed, I'm sorry to say.
M. “. B.
Such a well deserving charity.
J. B.
Went for a look on 21st December 2015 and loved it! Unlike my hometown's (Stoke On Trent) dog & cat home this is a 5 star hotel. Staff were very friendly.
P. B.
Just collected a beautiful cat. Great service and a wonderful charity as ever!
L. N.
Dogs home is brilliant, staff all very helpful. It's just a shame that the elderly lady in the cattery was downright rude and deliberately misinforming visitors, not sure what her reason was.
S. K.
Absolutely love these wonderful people.
A neighbour who died recently left her cat with nobody to look after him.
I contacted battersea who took him in and rehomed him after four days of being online to a lovely family.
My own Maine Coon cat was pts recently, if we decide in the future to get a cat Battersea will be our first choice for adoption.
K. K.
Nice and clean but I know few shelters that are more interactive (bookings to walk/play with dogs or cats). Maybe they don't have resources for this but they do have big facilities.
A. S.
The staff are lovely and it's a great place to visit for an hour or two. Great cafe and very yummy cake! A little disappointed that we couldn't stroke the animals though 😘
D. K.
Love, love, love battersea!!! The staff looks after the animals amazingly! Always rehoming and taking in new dogs or cats! Thank you for your hard work 👍
M. S.
What a wonderful organisation; They do so much good for cats ,dogs and the people who love them.

Adopt don't shop.
I adopted my beautiful Lurcher Jake from Battersea. Very well thought out process of matching you with the right companion.

Normally you would have to pay but they let us in for free, came with my friend to see the dogs and cats which was quite sad but it was nice to see and thinking of taking one home if we had a garden.
Please take a dog or cat home, they are in need of a caring home!

You can find nice gifts and accessories for your pets there. I'm going to buy a cat play tunnel and may be a plastic playground cat toy. I saw them in the website and they seem to be pretty good deals to me.

the people that work there are so dedicated to the cat's and dog's,it's just sad that there's people who abuse the animals giving more work for the staff, you are all angel's,animals have feelings also,

We rehomed Buster 2 years ago from Battersea Brands Hatch - the whole process was easy & relaxed. I would not hesitate to get another dog or cat from them. They are very thorough with the rehoming, but very fair. 10 out of 10!
H. B.
Totally brilliant place doing so much great work for animals
D. W. D.
Battersea Dogs & Cats Home do a great job! They totally understand, train and get to know each and every animal that comes to them before rehoming, truely amazing.
l. w.
Never been would love to meet the dogs & cats once it's open properly, been looking online
J. P.
One of Batterseas 3 sites sat near Battersea Power Station. On site shop selling accessories for your dog and cat. £2 entrance fee to view the animals available for adoption.

Fantastic and helpful staff. Just got a dog from there and it will definitely be 1st stop for any future pets.

Always worth a visit to see the great work they do at Battersea just bear in mind if you are visiting the dogs side some of the areas now have been restricted to the public due to the stress cause to the the dogs which I can understand so bear that in mind when you visit
B. J.
I adopted my cat Jules from Battersea, lovely staff, nice environment for the cats, but saying that a permanent home is what the cats
need.
so the more people that adopt the better.
S. D.
Absolutely loved my quick trip, had so many adorable animals to foster just wish I would have been able to take them all home with me!
P. M.
Probably the best cats and dogs home I have seen, they are really well looked after here and the staff are all friendly and helpful. I myself am looking to get a cat and so hopefully I'll get one soon from here :)
S. s.
Don’t know about cat section but having seen a couple of dogs that we were interested in discovered they were already reserved but nothing to tell you that so best to call first

We collected our two beautiful dogs from Battersea. What a wondeful place. Our dogs have settled in and are amazing.
G. Y.
Battersea does great work but feels like its trying to dip into a commericial to raise funds unsuccessfully ie cafe, shop. Feels like they are not fully utilising opportunities to raise funds to support their great work.
C. H.
Super cute animals and caring members of staff. The woman talking to me about adopting a cat told me all about her cats at home and gave really personalised and thoughtful advice
j.
Great people and great dogs. We came away with 2 Jack Russell's and they have settled in as if we had them from pups.
L. S.
Its a great place I enjoy watching paul o gradys for the love of dogs which is filmed here

The best thing we ever did was to adopt our beautiful German Shepherd, Athos, from Battersea. As our Golden Retriever was very aged and unable to travel long distances in the car any longer, Battersea very kindly brought Athos, a "medically challenged" dog, to our home instead to ensure compatability. They even brought a bed, lead, and a collar, along with some of his "special" food which wouldn't disturb his less-than-healthy stomach. The Battersea staff who brought him to us were visibly sad to leave him behind with us as Athos was apparently a favourite, but they were also pleased to have placed Athos in a "forever home" where he'd live out a happy retirement with his new "brother". That was September 2014 and Athos was 11 years old. He's now 12 and a half and still full of vigour; no more stomach/bowel problem and a happy, healthy old boy. Thank you, Battersea, you are wonderful.

They connected me with Duke who has been my faithful companion for two years now. Love my boy so much.

J.
We got our cat from here called Winifred and the staff couldn't be any kinder and helpful. If you are considering getting a cat or dog from here do it!
G. S.
Whatever you need for your dog or cat - this is your place. The staff is qualified and knows a lot about every breed. Our dog loves it here and we'll continue being regulars.
V. L.
Helpful friendly staff always want to bring more than a dozen dogs cats pups kittens home tears at your heart strings these animals need more support by general public can't praise these people enough
j. c.
It's a nice place friendly staff the food was very nice I would prefer my food on a plate rather then a tray also the place felt cold
E. L.
This is the 5 stars of dog and cat rescue! But, I'm biased. I have a lovely little dog thanks to Battersea and not for the first time either.

The most adorable kittens I've ever seen!
J. W.
Great place, friendly staff and huge variety of raw foods and snacks
R. C.
Went to look at kittens, only saw one unfortunately. Had to pay £6 to get it but I completely understand why they have to do this. Cats look well looked after.
V. C.
With covid restrictions, it's very important we all support them.
L. B.
Always when looking for a cat I look here first
K. J.
Everyone should adopt before thinking of getting a puppy and battersea is best place for advice.
R. H.
We got our 1st Dog from Battersea. They were very careful to make sure we got a dog that fits our lifestyle and not our fashion criteria. Suffice to say they got it 100% right.
S. M.
Worth going to visit the cats and dogs here. You can rehome one too. Much better than getting a puppy!
a. O.
