Micheal is incredibly knowledgeable and intuitive with dogs, and owners! He's really helped us make positive changes in our behaviour and our dogs which has made a huge difference to our lives. Walking our dog/ taking him anywhere had become quite stressful previously which has really changed now. Micheal has a friendly & direct style of teaching, you always feel successful and never judged, he gets fantastic results in a short time and doesn't waste time with pointless extra sessions that aren't needed. He follows up with you and is always happy to take a call if you have any questions or need some more help! Couldn't recommend him more 🏆

Michael was an absolute god send. We had been struggling with our dog Bailey. We had major problems with recall and behavioural issues with public transport. By implementing his advice and training we now have a dog which has near perfect recall (walks are now so enjoyable) and Bailey is so much more obedient and calmer. Thank you!

I can’t recommend Michael enough. We had a few sessions, maybe 4-5 max, with my cocker spaniel puppy, Margot. He works on a session by session basis so you’re not pressured to sign up for more lessons than you need. What I liked most was he gives you the confidence to do the training yourself. He showed me how to train Margot using a clicker, corrected me when I got stuff wrong, and then left me to do the training and contact him when I was ready to move on to harder things. I’ve watched training videos online and read books and the best endorsement I can give Michael is that Margot is often complimented by people for being well behaved, and I put that down to Michael teaching me.

Michael was fantastic with us and with Robyn, our six month old lab puppy. He listened for a good 20 minutes, which he didn't charge for, while we talked about the various challenges we were having. The next few hours largely focussed on teaching us how to address specific training areas, while demonstrating, very patiently, how these were done. After one session, we feel that we've got a bespoke plan and a much clearer idea of how to manage our new dog. I couldn't recommend Michael highly enough.

My goodness!! Where do I start?? In the 2 sessions with Michael, my Maltese terrier Lola is a changed dog. She was taught many commands and the most important lesson she learned was to walk off lead. We had a 1.5-hour intro session with Michael and out 9-month-old spaniel and it was fantastic! We really appreciated the time he took with us over the phone before the session to discuss our dog training needs and where we needed support. The session was at a great pace and we covered a lot in a short space of time. By the end we felt like we had a training plan in place and feel so much more confident in our training. We met Michael about a year ago when we our dog Woody was about eight months old. We were having some problems with areas such as recall. Michael has been helping us with Woody's training and behaviour and has been a fantastic support. Woody's recall is now excellent and he is also much more responsive in the house. Michael has taught us great ways to handle him and we have all grown in confidence as a result. I would highly recommend Michael to others who need help and support with their dog.

When we first got our rescue dog he was nervous and really reactive outside to the point we just really didn’t know what to do and felt completely helpless. We got our dog in the summer so most trainers were only doing zoom but I failed to understand how they could help me with out physically being there when you have a challenging dog. Michael was a god send, he came and taught us what we needed to do to make our dog feel calmer and less scared. With in 3 weeks of doing what Michael had advised us to do our dog was completely different. We have since had him out to help with recall and he put our mind at ease with that too. Michael is great because he gives you the time you need until you and the dog are comfortable and allows the dog still to be a dog. I would highly recommend him for any of your doggie concerns, he has experienced it all so will be able to help.

My puppy, Marley, was 6 months old when I first met Michael. I was beginning to look for a dog walker or doggy day care for a few days per week, mainly so that Marley could socialise when I went out to work. I was impressed with how quickly he responded to Michael and how welcoming the rest of the pack were. I asked Michael to help me encourage Marley to swim. It didn't take long and now Marley loves to jump into the lake on hot summer days to cool off with his friends. Michael takes the dogs to a variety of parks in the area and he often cycles with them, as long as all the dogs can manage it. The dogs love being at Michael's home and treat it as their own, with it's cosy log fire, spacious garden and tasty bones.

Michael helped us tremendously with our surprise adoption of our lovely miniature schnauzer, Chippy. When we first got him, he was quick to bite people and other dogs (often drawing blood) when he got scared, he had no recall, was not apt to listen to many commands at all, and was nearly impossible to walk on the lead as he pulled so much, but was terrified of anyone so much as speed walking near him. He was very nervous and we lacked the training experience or skills to help support him as much as he needed. Michael came to our home and advised us on what we needed to be doing, he answered all of my messages when I over-momed and was nervous I wasn't doing the right thing. When I thought Chippy needed extra exercise and socialisation and took him to doggy daycare with Michael, he was incredible in telling me that this was not what Chippy needed, that he did not need so much exercise (he can be quite lazy now) and he needed to be at home with us, that we just needed more faith in ourselves and our newfound training abilities. Chippy has completely transformed over the past few months, and so have we, as Michael really supported us in feeling confident enough to lead and make Chippy feel safe and supported. Michael has a natural instinct with dogs. He provides an essential insight into what will work with your particular dog, not just generic advice. Wynne, our 12 week old Golden Retriever is our first dog, and one session with Michael has taught us and Wynne so much. Our dog Logan has been with Michael, The Dog Guru, for over 2 years now. Our previous day care provider found Logan too boisterous for that pack and recommended Michael. We were pretty disappointed when that happened but once we had met Michael, we discovered it was the best move we could have made. Michael has never made us feel like any of Logan’s bad habits were a big deal, he simply helped us to correct them. We started with some training sessions at home and in the park and got some great tips. Logan then joined Michael's day care and made some good friends in his pack and when we have been on holiday abroad Michael has looked after Logan too. When Michael comes to pick Logan up for walks he can't get to the door fast enough as he's so excited. We would highly recommend Michael, The Dog Guru, for any of your canine needs!

Michael was fantastic. Due to lockdown our pup hadn’t had much in the way of socialising. He LOVED Michael from the first moment. We moved to the local area in June 2017 with an excitable, energetic and slightly troublesome Jack Russell. Prior to moving here, we were always nervous and apprehensive to walk him off the lead but Michael has given us the confidence to do so, which has massively improved his behaviour both home and out walking. Micheal has been brilliant with my dog Cherry, shes a 5 year old rescue Jack Russell that we have had for over a year, she came from battersea with few behaviour problems. After her previous dog walker said he could no longer take her because of her disruptive behaviour and a with having no luck with her previous dog trainer. I asked for Michaels help. He quickly taught cherry some basic commands within one short training session at our home and gave us some training to do at home. The training was quick and efficient, we saw a difference in her behaviour straight away. After he took her in a few walks over a couple of weeks cherry was playing with other dogs off the lead and has even been able to settle in the car, which she previously wouldn't do. It's been like having a different dog, she is well behaved both in and outside the house. Taking her for a walk is now a pleasure and no longer stressful. She is definitely much more happy and tired being walked off the lead. My only regret is that we didn't see him sooner. Thank you
