I took Ivy, my 6 month old working cocker, for our first session with Annie at Gloucestershire Gun Dogs this morning; we both came away enthused and prepared for our training journey ahead. Our session with Annie was thoroughly engaging and totally hit the mark. We came away with a detailed training plan to help and guide me in developing my partnership with Ivy. We are both looking forward to these early stages of our journey and look forward to seeing Annie again to guide us through the next steps.

Took our 6 month old working cocker to meet Annie and advise us on encouraging Celyn to walk with us and work with us rather than taking off across hill and dale at break neck speed!
As 'experienced' cocker owners we were keen to hear Annie's take on our progress to date and even more keen to find a solution to the disappearing dog ...
What a revelation! Celyn, as a keen hunter, responded well to Annie's training plan (even if she was the first ever dog not to appreciate ginger biscuits!) Some brilliant (and easy to put into practice) tips that we have been following daily back at home.
Within days Celyn has become a different puppy - she hunts with us, waits for instruction and, so far, true to her breed is keen to please. We still have moments of 'rebellion' of course but are now able to deal with these calmly and firmly so as not to undermine progress to date.
Would highly recommend Annie to new and experienced working dog owners -we will certainly book another session in the future to progress Celyn's gun dog training.
Thank you Annie for your advice - pleasure to meet you and your lovely dogs!

I took my 6 month old fox red labrador to see Annie as I wanted to further her training and give her the mental stimulation of gundog training. Annie has given us a training plan and has been great at answering my questions. Willow loves the sessions and we are looking forward to going back for further sessions.

A fantastic experience all around. Both myself and my lab "Monty" have enjoyed training here immensely. Annie is a fantastic, very knowledgeable trainer and is very good at transferring that knowledge on to both owner and dog.

Me and my German Pointer 'Rusty' just finished our first session with Annie and will definitely be coming back for more.
Annie's love, knowledge and connection with her dogs is clear immediately. She took the time to find out about Rusty and talked through the training plan before we started. I found this a great comfort and helped put everything in perspective.
Out in the field, she was patient, clear with her instruction and most of all kept it fun! Rusty definitly could have carried on much longer than I could!
We can't wait to carry on the sessions with her. Thank you Annie!

We took our 5 month old labrador puppy to Annie to ensure we were on the right track with her. We've been to a number of trainers previously with our other dogs, and found Annie to be one of the best. She listens to you and understands where you are with your training and where you want to be. She clearly explains what you need to do and how the dog interprets this, before putting it to the test. We've come away with a clear plan, and we can't wait to get started so we can progress to our next session with Annie.

Had a really great session with Annie this afternoon with our Working Cocker.
Firstly we spent a good hour chatting about what we are after from him and she explained in detail how to go about training him in a simple but extremely effective way.
Secondly we got the dog out in the field and worked on some basic steadiness and heel training, then moved on to some hunting and finding techniques along with ‘STOP’ whistle training.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with how Annie constructs her training and understands our needs along with the dogs needs.
I look forward to our next session in a few months time after we have put our new training techniques into practice

I have just started training a young Sprocker with Annie to work in the beating line.
Our first session was fantastic.
Annie took a lot of time to understand what I want to achieve, introducing clear and simple steps to prepare me for what is required before getting started with the dog.
After this we got the dog out and went through everything Annie had talked about previously. This meant I was able to give the dog far clearer instruction as I understood what was required.
Once the session was over. Annie provided an in-depth training plan on what needed to be worked on before the next session. I refer to this everyday to ensure I am doing the right thing and being consistent.
Looking forward to the next session in a few weeks!

If you are looking for a gundog trainer then we can highly recommend Annie from Gloucestershire Gundogs.
My husband and I booked a training session with Annie for our 10 month old working cocker as felt that we needed more breed specific training due to our recall suddenly failing since she became a “teenager”. We read that it might be worth training her to do what she was bred for – working!
The way that Annie structures her training is fantastic - we spent time talking and going through her training plan before getting Polly out of the car, meaning we had an idea of what we would be doing. We came away with not only a copy of this training plan but also personalized aims of what we should be working towards and a renewed confidence.
We are looking forward to continuing Polly’s training and to seeing her back off her lead doing what she does best – sniffing the undergrowth and having fun (and coming back to us first time!). We may even take this further one day – but just need to get the basics spot on first!! 😊
Thank you so much, Annie. Those couple of hours spent with you were invaluable and we both (and Polly) learned a lot from you. We will let you know how things progress and will definitely return for more training in the future.

I have been to see Annie several times with my English springer spaniel (cooper).
I have found Annie very knowledgeable and shares her knowledge in a very friendly and professional manner. Each time we attend I am given a Worksheet with step by step instructions of how to aid and progress training. If I am ever stuck Annie has always been happy for me to contact her in between booked session for guidance and reassurance.
I would recommend Annie 100%, to all who wish to train their working dogs.

Took my 10 month old GSP to see Annie today for his first lesson. Showing off what Ruperts natural ability can do has left me with the confidence to take his training further. We cannot wait to have more lessons with Annie. It was a great lesson with lots of homework to focus on
Delivered in a managable way so we can keep track of what we need to ficus on 😀

Took my young dog for a session with Annie, she’s a lovely, kind trainer. We have been given some constructive homework to work on between sessions! Pup had a lovely time and the session was tailored for his age and current knowledge- looking forward to our next session!

I came to Annie for a lesson with my 8 month old puppy Bramble. I was very impressed with the amount I learnt and thoroughly enjoyed the morning. Annie was welcoming, very knowledgeable and gave clear explanations for all of the exercises. We then practised outside in the field and I was given a sheet with everything written down to continue to practise at home. Thank you so much Annie for a brilliant lesson, I hope to come back soon!

Wow what a difference even one session made! Annie clearly has insight and a professional teaching background, as the lesson was so structured and well explained. My dog, George, loved the session and responded really well. Annie gave us 'exercises' to practise and build upon at home. I'm looking forward to my next lesson!

Fantastic dog trainer and just as good at training the owners. Really enjoyed our first session with Annie. We’ll crack on with our homework and be back for more friendly expert guidance.

My daughter and her spaniel totally enjoyed their lesson. They were given targets to achieve and a handout to take home to remind you. Annie was very helpful and it was well worth it, would recommend to anyone

The training was well structured and enjoyable, we had a great morning. We have a clear framework of what to work on over the coming weeks. Thank Annie.
