Alastair provides a truly amazing service , my dog has been going with him on walks for a month now and it’s the best decision we have ever made. She loves being picked up by Alastair and always comes back with a wiggly tail. I would recommend Paws-4-Life any day without a doubt

Alastair really is a gem.
We first met when prior to Covid Alastair house and dog sat for us when we were away. We completely trusted him with our home, which he looked after and he gave us doggy updates during our holidays which were very welcome.
When lockdown brought changes to our routines he stepped in and walked our dog daily so in total he has looked after our opinionated pooch (lurcher) over the last 4 years and has understood her completely. He also brings a sunny smile when dropping her home however horrible the weather. The dog always comes back suitably exhausted and ready for a quiet snuggle.
Despite the dog being accident prone (polite for an idiotic tendency to run into/through things at high speed in pursuit of rabbits, squirells etc. ) Alastair has always kept her safe and sound. She benefitted from the secure space that Alastair exercises the dogs in and the socialisation of spending time with the extended pack.
He has our dogs heart as well as her respect, more than anyone else. What more could you ask for?

We have been using paws 4 life for about 18 months and Alastair has proven worth his weight in gold. Our miniature poodle loves his 'uncle Jock', and its clear that the feeling is mutual.
Alastair has helped with training our dog at no extra cost, and even put aside his own bank holiday plans to look after our dog when I was in hospital having a baby!!
Its reassuring to know that our dog is walked in a private, enclosed area, rather than a public field or park where he could be lost or meet unfriendly dogs. I would highly recommend paws 4 life!!

I have been using Paws-4-Life ever since we got our first French Bulldog, over 2 years ago now. From the first day Paws-4-Life have shown love and commitment to our dogs, now have 2, which is seen on both dogs faces and the wag of their bum/tail when they get picked up each time. The service from Paws-4-Life has been second to none and they have been extremely professional and flexible in my ever changing calendar of work; moving walks, looking after them over weekends and even on an emergency trip abroad.
My French Bulldogs' experience with other dogs during their walks is what I believe to have helped their confidence when walking off the lead and they are extremely well behaved through Paws-4-Life training.
On a personal level staff at Paws-4-Life are extremely professional, approachable, honest and generally really nice people... more importantly our dogs love them and that's why we have and will continue to use them.

We’ve been working with Paws-4-Life for 18 months since we rescued our dog. We cannot recommend this team enough. Alastair has helped us develop our confidence as dog owners and our dog has thrived from the company and walks. Paws-4-Life have this dog and owner seal of approval. 🐾👍😁

Paw-4-Life has walked my dog, Fifi for 4 years. The word 'walk' doesn't begin to describe the care, attention and love that Alastair, the owner of this company, has given to Fifi over this time. She absolutely adores him. I have been lucky enough to go out on some walks with Alastair and watched how he manages his charges. The dogs are amazingly obedient, sitting in a group for a photo before being allowed to run and play and then returning for a post play group photo. They know who is the clan leader!
Alastair will take time to get to know each dog in his charge before introducing him/her to other members of the clan ensuring that he matches different temperaments so that they all get along. I have seen dogs who have been afraid of their own shadow blossom, others who thought a walk was a brief trot grow to love their time out with him and join in with the games. The fact that his clients have all become close friends of Alastair says a lot. In addition Alastair will take on dogs with behavioural problems and can work magic. Yes you will be given a list of do's and don'ts, some of which you may not agree with but stick to them and you will see a transformation in your pet.
I cannot recommend this company more highly, if you are looking for someone who genuinely loves dogs and will ensure that they have fun then do not look anywhere else.

We have been involved with Alastair for the past 18 mths since we brought our Ugandan rescue Nutty to England. Honestly, we thought she would never be able to walk off lead nor be friendly and sociable with other dogs. In fact, she had never even been off lead with other dogs until we returned to the UK with her. From the beginning, we knew we had made the right choice. Alastair is just amazing; we call him The Dog Whisperer! What he has achieved with Nutty is nothing short of a miracle. She has thrived whilst in his care. To see her off lead with other dogs, being sociable, having fun, being a 'dog' is quite overwhelming. On a personal note, Alastair is wonderful and we are sad we didn't get to spend more time with him. We are leaving the country otherwise he would have us around for a very very long time! Thanks for everything Alastair.

We've been using Paws-4-Life for several years now and can only say good things about the owner (Alastair) and his commitment to looking after your dogs.
Our two rescue dogs (a Westie and Westie / Yorkie cross) get excited at the mere sound of the Paws-4-Life truck rolling up.
In the past the Westie Mia had been very timid. Alastair took time to work with her and she now runs and plays with the other dogs. This has been a huge step forward for her.
Paws-4-Life also offers excellent training and behavioural work. This guy really knows what he is doing.
When we first met Alastair he took the time to come round to our home, meet the family and spend time with the dogs before going anywhere near them. He's not just a guy who turns up and takes your dogs out.
Again, we can't say enough good things about this company and highly recommend them.

Alastair (Jock) has been walking and training my dog, a Jug (Jack Russell x Pug) called Tank, since he was 12 weeks old. It is purely due his hard work and dedication that I now have a wonderfully behaved dog that I do. Without his training Tank - who can be extremely high maintenance, hyperactive and had a tendency to go deaf with me when he was off the lead - would not be the proud little dog he is today. He now walks to heel beautifully and has fantastic recall. Tank loves to go out with all the other dogs and this has taught him how to be sociable and not aggressive as some dogs can be if they have never been introduced to others. If I have any questions about Tank's ongoing training Alastair is only ever a phone call away and is always there to give me advice. He even came out to collect Tank at 11pm to take him to the vets when Tank accidentally ate chocolate. On the night in question I did not know what to do and panicked; when I called Alastair he calmed me down and came straight over. He is the most level headed person I know and very passionate when it comes to animals. I would thoroughly recommend him to anyone looking for a Dog Walker/Trainer and I would not think of letting anyone else walk my little man.

Absolutely amazing service and great with the dogs. We wouldn't trust our Disability Assistance Dog with anyone else. And she absolutely adores him. 😊

Alastair (Jock) has been the best dog walker & trainer I've ever met. He is very responsible, professional, honest and has helped us walk, train and board our labrador when we've been on holiday. I feel like I've won the lottery finding him! I trust him and his staff totally and our dog loves them, too!

As the head of marketing for a 'big 4' professional services organisation, I am particularly fussy when selecting service providers. My wife and I work long hours but also wanted a puppy to enrich our lives. When 'Monty' bounded into our world, we needed a dog service that we could trust, both for the welfare of Monty and also the security of our home whilst we're at work. We required a professional that could teach my wife and I how to nurture and train a young puppy and also someone who could walk and socialise Monty when we were unable to. We interviewed a variety of dog walking services and Paws-4-Life was the last company we met. Upon meeting Alistair (aka Big Jock) we were immediately impressed by his obvious love for dogs, his instant command over our unruly puppy and his guidance tips on training. We were also impressed by the professionalism of the company and the methods employed for 'pack walks' where many dogs are walked together in secure surroundings. Having viewed the many videos on the Paws-4-Life Facebook page showing the dogs enjoying their walks, and being in complete control, and doing due diligence checks on the company, we become very happy clients. We have used the company for 4 months now and have complete faith in Alistair and his team. My wife and I highly recommend Paws-4-Life to anyone who needs dog walking, dog behaviour training or pet sitting services. Without Paws-4-Life, Monty wouldn't be half the dog he is now. Big thanks 'big Jock'!!

We used Alastair for a number of years and have nothing but love for the man and his company. As a Rotti owner my partner and i struggled to find a dog walker who was willing to take on such a misunderstood breed (which was for the best as any dog lover knows its the owner not the breed), then along came Alastair. He was brilliant with Saffy and Saffy instantly took to him, he also helped out with training and also helped reinforce the training we haf already provided to saffy. Saffy also loved going out for walks with him and his group and made lots of furry friends which i believed helped Saffy immensely with socialisation training, if it wasn't for Alsatair we might have had a completely different dog (personality wise). If you have any concerns about him with 6 or dogs off the lead at once, don't. I've seen him with more dogs off the lead and they know he is the boss and completely obey his commands (check out the company Facebook page where there are videos where he gets 10 dogs to all sit in a group and stay) and they treat the dogs they look after like family.
Unfortunately we had to move to Wiltshire, but had we stayed in Reading we would still be using Paws-4-life.

Denzil is a boxer and there isn't a day when he doesn't wait with excitement for Alastair, (who owns the business) to come and pick him up. The joy in Denzil's face is obvious as is his glee, anyone who owns a boxer will know when they are overjoyed. He can't wait to get into the van and start his walk.
I first got in touch with Paws-4-life 4 years ago when I needed pet sitting. I had contacted other companies before but knew instantly that Paws-4-life was the one when I realised how much Denzil liked Alastair.Since then, I have asked Paws to pet sit while on vacations and Denzil is walked several times a week.
I have and WILL ALWAYS recommend Paws-4-life to anyone who may need their services. They are professional and dedicated. The care, attention and love that Alastair has given to Denzil is amazing. I only need to look at Denzil and the love he feels for Alastair.
Thank you Paws-4-life.

I've known Alastair (Founder) of Paws-4-Life.co.uk for over 10 years. When I first met him he was a Site Manager in the construction industry & used to take his own dog to Work with him. He's a 'marmite' man - you'll love him or hate him - he's outspoken & what you see is what you get; he's confident but not arrogant; dedicated & loyal but won't suffer fools; he's a great friend & passionate about LIFE ... ESPECIALLY DOGS! I had a Westie, my soulmate, at the time & as much as I loved Rufey (& spoiled him - in every sense) I wasn't really showing him that I was his 'Pack Leader'. As a result he was getting fat, didn't respect me & barked ... a lot! Alastair showed me how I could mend his ways, without being cruel, by mending mine. ;-) He always says, "I don't believe in bad dogs, just bad pack leadership!"I've learned greatly from him & after Rufey died I went a few years without a dog. I have retained what he taught me & I now have a young Jug who I love to bits BUT he is treated like a dog. Alastair's firm but fair & dogs love him for it. I realise now that, just like a child, when you provide structure & praise but also balance it with authority, you have a far better bond & well-rounded behaviour in your four-legged friend. He's been teaching & proving his methods work for years ... I can't talk highly enough of him. He's proud of what he does & I'm proud to know & endorse him for it. Thank-you Alastair - i wouldn't trust anyone but you with my boy

Paws 4 life helped me out at short notice when I needed help with cat sitting while I was on away on holiday. They were very professional and made me feel completely at ease that the cats were looked after while I was away. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Paws 4 Life is a fantastic service at very reasonable rates. We have two cats which he has lokked after when we are away on holiday, and they are well looked after and have had no issues with them.
