L. D.Alice at Barkers Behaviour is an absolute magician. The results speak for themselves. We bought the puppy pack, and as first time dog owners, it really set us up for success by helping us start training and set the right boundaries from day 1 of taking Indie home.
We also had a few 1 to 1 sessions with Alice when he was a bit older to tidy things up a bit. Alice’s method of training and explaining things is very practical, to the point and easy to follow, but also adaptable to each dog. She approaches everyone as individuals and works with you to get things right!
Alice helped make bringing up our boy from a puppy a real pleasure and now we have a well mannered, wonderful (almost) 1 year old!
N. C.I contacted Barkers Behaviour when my little rescue dog needed some help and training, he was a bit nervous and very prey focused, could not be let off lead and had poor recall. Alice took the time to listen and observe him and tailor some 1:1 training sessions for us. He has learned so much from Alice (and her neutral dog) and is now off-lead on walks and living his best life. His obedience has improved, he’s calmer and loves learning new things. Alice gave us so many tips to help him to improve, we couldn’t have done it without her.

Since then our 1:1 training sessions have been clear sharp and professional. S. S.The only dog trainer I’d recommend! We have a one year old GSD x husky (behaves like a husky, looks like a German shepherd). We’d sent him to a daycare where he had some negative experiences with other dogs and this caused some reactivity issues. Our dog has a very high prey drive, was insecure and can be very shy. I had tried two other trainers without seeing much in the way of improvement. Alice has helped our dog tremendously, she explains everything thoroughly to us to ensure we understand and we’ve seen such an improvement in our dog straight in a short space of time. I wouldn’t trust anyone else to look after or train my dog. Honestly couldn’t thank Alice enough!

g. m.Our year-old Australian Labradoodle, Pippin, is highly anxious and nervous. Reactive in the extreme, we were in desperate need of help. We were so relieved to have connected with Alice as she is giving us the tools to teach our dog how to be a well-adjusted functioning member of society. We have only recently embarked on this long journey but we have made a positive start and can see progress!
Alice is working with Pippin indoors and outside the house to help us improve her manners and how she listens and focuses on us and the task. Alice has a remarkable way of engaging with our dog as well as the whole family. She is keen to receive progress reports between our in-person training sessions and responds with invaluable tips and advice.
We are excited to continue working with Alice as she draws on her wealth of experience and is patient, kind and empathetic. She has given us renewed hope!
C. G.We began to look for a dog trainer for our 9 month old GSD puppy, with no idea what to expect. We found Alice online, and within half an hour she had given us more advice, and knew more about what our dog needed than we had ever known!
On our first session it took 20 minutes for me to be able to walk my dog - something that I had never been able to do before alone due to pulling, reactivity and a host of other problems. 5 sessions later and we have a transformed dog, but more importantly Alice provided us with knowledge and skills to be better owners, and to understand our dog's needs much more.
I can't thank Alice enough for the support that she provided both in our sessions and over the phone - I would give six stars if I could!

My rescue dog has a number of extreme issues and isn’t a simple case.
Alice is extremely understanding of your individual dogs needs and expectations. Alice explains everything in detail as she does it and breaks down anything you don’t understand, which helps not only the dog but yourself as the owner to know how to implement when she isn’t around!
The amount of time and patience Alice puts into each dog is above and beyond expectation.
I’m extremely thankful for her guidance with my dog, who otherwise I would probably be at a complete loss. We are completing tasks and going places I never thought I would be able to do, whilst keeping realistic expectations in my mind.
Highly recommend to anyone needing assistance!! We had 1 to 1 and group classes, both bring different challenges and lessons.

She recognised what i knew, and obviously informed me where im also going wrong and made up a plan to help me and my dog in the long run and its been helping us massively. D. S.We started training with Barker's Behaviour a few months ago. At the start my dog was very reactive towards other dogs, people, easily distracted and extremely excitable. He would pull on the lead to the point of choking himself and quickly become overwhelmed when in busy situations.
We were shown how to effectively communicate/engage with him using the appropriate tools, methods and exercises and followed a training plan over the course of about 5 weeks each time making things slightly more difficult for him. By session three he was walking/sitting calmly beside Alice's dogs with little to no reaction.
We had our final session of the plan yesterday and he is now confirmably walking in public places around lots of distractions and is able to be kept under control. He still has his enthusiastic personality but now understands how he should behave instead of just losing his mind with excitement!
I would definitely recommend Alice to anyone looking to improve their dogs obedience or behavioural issues!
