We were referred to Rachel initially due to Nala having lots of different issues around reactivity, anxiety and resource guarding. Through a thorough consultation with Rachel and identifying pain as a likely cause of some of the issues we have now been able to seek appropriate support from the vet in terms of managing this which has reduced many of the difficulties and has given us our happy, relaxed dog back!
We have also now completed the No Nonsense Nosework course and the Parkour level 1, as well as watching the sessions on freework and managing separation anxiety, and Rachel’s knowledge and understanding of each dog and their individual needs is amazing.
We can’t wait to progress onto the next levels of scent work and parkour and would recommend Rachel to anyone!

So far, I have worked with Rachel in the following ways:
• Webinar on handling and consent training;
• Online one-to-one consultation;
• Three Reducing Reactivity sessions at Unleashed Wrenbury;
• The Teenage Tearaway online course;
• Introduction to Dog Parkour Workshop at Unleashed Wrenbury;
• Home consultation visit.
I’m currently signing up for the next round of online scentwork sessions! As you can tell, Rachel’s training and guidance really works for me and my dog, Frankie.
I approached Rachel after participating in a webinar on handling: not only did her accreditations as a trainer and behaviourist reassure me, but I was super impressed by her professional experience and the fact she has two small dogs. (No, seriously! It’s quite rare to find a behaviourist or trainer with smaller dogs.) Rachel actually has lots of experience with all kinds of dogs and this shows in her guidance.
Although her training is consistently based in positive reinforcement, kindness and consent, she understands that each dog has their own unique ‘quirks’. When she first met Frankie, she immediately clued into how her responses to other dogs were more like those of a younger puppy (emotional immaturity and a lack of confidence). I was so relieved to hear this! Frankie is my first ever puppy and it’s been a roller coaster of uncertainty and second guessing myself. It’s Rachel’s knowledge and understanding that makes her my ‘go to’ dog person! Working with Rachel has made me more confident and therefore Frankie has become more confident. I cannot thank her enough.
I’m always recommending Rachel to people. Even in the most extreme situations: when I recently crossed paths with a neighbour who was worried about their newly rehomed, very fearful and traumatised dog, I managed to yell over the furious barking, “GOOGLE NOSE TO T-R-A-I-L! Rachel can help you! And there’s a discount for rescue dogs!”
😂
The good thing is that training is forever, so I look forward to continuing to work alongside Rachel with Frankie and whoever else joins my family.

We had Rachel out last week as we needed help with mousse's behaviour. She can become quite stressed when she sees another dog or hears an unexpected sound. I have been trying for ages to help mousse but I couldn't find the right technique to help her. After one session with Rachel, we tweaked what I had been working on and now mousse is really starting to relax. She was always on alert before but I am starting to see improvements and her body has become less tense. This is so lovely to see only after having one session last week! We still have a lot to work on, but I can't wait to see even more changes in mousse's behaviour in the next couple of months. Thank you again Rachel

Rachel is a fantastic trainer and I recommend her to everyone I know. She is vastly knowledgeable but also kind and approachable. I think training with your dog can be a bit nerve wracking but I find it very easy to ask Rachel any questions and feel more confident around her. We attended her Reducing Reactivity session which can be scary if your dog barks and lunges but she placed everyone far enough away gradually reducing the distance and when my dog started to struggle she gave us a wee break to sniff about and calm down!! If you’re considering booking with her I would definitely recommend it.

Rachel from Nose To Trail has been an absolute godsend. We were referred to Rachel from another behaviourist who didn’t feel she had quite the expertise to help us, and it was honestly the best thing that we’ve done.
From the start Rachel has been nothing but patient and understanding, making us realise we weren’t at fault for our dogs behavioural issues whilst helping us to understand the best way to help our dog become more at ease in life and more relaxed.
Myself and my partner felt like all our worries and concerns were heard, and Rachel has done everything she could too walk us through it all.
I would recommend her highly to everyone who needed help. She is so knowledgeable and her advice has been fantastic.

Rachel’s classes are both fun and engaging for me and my dog. It’s obvious she pays attention to the dogs we works with closely and understand them well. Finding a dog centric trainer is so important and it’s benefit shows when you get a trainer like Rachel. My dog isn’t engaged by walks, toys or playing, but she absolutely loves nose work and I’m so glad to be learning something with her that she enjoys doing! Rachel is a great teacher for both me and my girl!

I really can’t recommend Rachel enough. The thing I love the most is Rachel does all her training with kindness and nothing is ever forced, which has helped me build an even better bond with both of my dogs. She really listens to you, never judges your situation and is also really relatable. She’s helped me build my confidence and passed on so much knowledge to help me understand why my dogs are acting a certain way. My youngest dog would always pull on the lead and lunge at every car which made our walks difficult to manage. Within one session Rachel had found a way of stopping his lunging and to stop the pulling. After a few days of me doing this alone, he now walks next to me, I can get his attention and I’m able to stop the lunging. This is just one example of many things Rachel’s helped us on. My other dog reacts at everything as she is just so scared and understandably this takes time to change. Some things aren’t quick fixes but knowing we have Rachel to help her to build her confidence with only positive reinforcement, is such a god send. I can’t thank Rachel enough for everything she’s done so far for us all.

Rachel has helped our dog and us enormously over the last 6 months!
Her ability to read our dogs behaviour and help us understand what she is doing means has been such a help!
Her behaviour has improved so much over the past 6 months and it is definitely down to Rachel’s skills and guidance!
Thank you Rachel - We appreciate everything you’ve done and can’t recommend Nose to Tail enough to anyone with a dog!!!

We expected our French Bulldog to be the best of friends with our newborn when he arrived but unfortunately that wasn't the case and as soon as we arrived home our dog became anxious and struggled to breathe with anxiety.
After a visit to the vets to help they recommend Rachel to us.
A long story short, 8 weeks of him living with my parents and coming home for training to return back to the home with reduced anxiety thanks to Rachel we managed to get him home albeit for the time being in the kitchen alone.
Following this Rachel set us a number of training tasks and methods on how to slowly bring him in to the same room as the newborn.
We truly never thought we would get where we are now, seeing them both sitting and playing together 12 months on was a dream come true for us.
We could not recommend Rachel enough or thank her for what she has done for us as a family!

We contacted Rachel to help with our 1 year old Beagle after a bout of illness, which led to increased separation anxiety and occasional reactivity around other dogs - plus she was constantly full of beans!
We had an initial 2 hour behaviour consultation which was incredibly useful in itself, and was given plenty of techniques, games and ideas to work on with Belle. The difference in 4-6 weeks has been incredible! She's more relaxed at home, doing great with her reactivity, and we're slowly making progress with her separation stress. What's better is that Rachel spent a long time on a walk with us 2 weeks later to help us better understand Belle's body language around other dogs, and is still happy to give us ongoing support and has a wealth of ideas to use as alternatives for when Belle gets bored of current techniques!

The teenage tearaways course was brilliant and just what we needed to help us effectively deal with those cheeky teenage behaviours. Rachel is so knowledgeable and understanding, providing clear instructions and advice, helping us understand why dogs do what they do and giving us the tools to change the behaviours we had issues with. We now have so many tools available to us to help our teenager become a happy and settled grown up girl. Would highly recommend this course and Rachel’s training, we will definitely be using Her services again.

Our cocker spaniel loved attending the No Nonsense Nosework course with Rachel. It was great to learn about how important scent is for dogs and how scent games and activities can help keep dogs busy and active and tire a busy pup out! Great to use indoor games when weather is bad outside or after surgery etc. Thanks so much.

I really can’t praise the woman high enough. She is just brilliant at everything she does. My dog has completely changed for the better with Rachel’s help. The days of him being stressed out at home when he was alone are way in the past. This woman is a miracle worker. Thank You so much

I would highly recommend Rachel as a dog behaviourist, she is amazing and taught me so much!! She has supported me with my dachshund Hector for almost a year now and with patience and perseverance we have come so, so far!!! My dog has to wear a muzzle by law and it's taken almost a year to train him. Some days I just wanted to give up, but with her support, guidence and techniques, the hard work has paid off. My dog is so happy to wear a muzzle now that he wants me to chase him around the garden to take it off!! At one point I could never have imagined that happening.

What can I say, I have three amazing little rescued sausages each with their own experience of the world with some not so great experiences. With Rachel's guidance and support she has helped me transform them into happier dogs with a happier owner.
Indy who was scared of feet, people, doors and other dogs has improved so much making walks more enjoyable through games and training, yes he still has a little way to go but the improvement is amazing!
Watson however is excited by the world as he wasn't socialised when he came into our care and needs to stay calmer and not pull on the lead. He gets frustrated when he cant get his own way, barks at all passing dogs and completely ignores his name. We have completed a number of training sessions from 'tearaway teeneager' to 'reactive dog' and are taking steps forward in the right direction he's calmer at home and is learning not to react as the dogs walk past.
We look forward to our future sessions.
All this would not have been possible without Rachel- so thank you!

Rachel is extremely knowledgeable and her advice really helped! Our puppy had become reluctant to put her harness on, the handling webinar helped us get back on track. I allowed Harley more freedom to walk away from the harness whereas previously I’d been shutting doors in order to prevent her trailing mud through when we got home, now I do this after her harness is on and she’s so much happier. I love that she’s happy to come and put it on and doesn’t shy away. Thank you Nose to Trail!!

Rachel has been lovely to work with. We have a puppy that was attacked by another dog and she worked with us on building up both my dogs and my confidence whilst out walking, offering tips on how to managing meetings with other dogs and how to read our dogs body language. We also did her 'Nosework' course for 6 weeks which was brilliant fun and has given us lots of direction for training sessions with our pup. Looking forward to working with her again and would highly recommend.

We contacted Rachel for a consultation when we introduced Bleu a 10 week old pup to our family dog, Buddy. The initial days/weeks were very challenging and I needed help! We spoke to Rachel on a zoom call, she was professional, extremely knowledgeable and her friendly approach was just what our situation required. She gave us hope and armed us with some great advice, she seemed genuinely interested and was happy to follow up and hear about our progress. 4 months on we are so happy we persevered and things have improved. I would have no problem what so ever in recommending Nose to Trail to anyone.

Rachel has extensive knowledge of canine behaviour and training and is an extremely talented member of the industry. You can trust Nose To Trail to assist with multiple behaviour and training queries you may have, whilst receiving professional and qualified help.
We just attended Rachel's new course No Nonsense Nosework and had soo much fun! Myself and my beagle learnt so much and will definitely be utilising what we have learnt over the past 6 weeks. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for an outlet for their dog, or just looking for a new hobby to take up together.

Rachel has been fastastic guiding us introduce our overseas rescue Pup into the family which includes kids and a cat. Our first education session was invaluable in helping us get things right from the start, reassuring us and giving our dog nervous Pup the confidence to start loving his walks. We are hugely thankful for her direction and ongoing support, including finding the most suitable puppy classes for his situation. We would have no hesitation in recommending to both new and experienced dog owners!

I really enjoyed the separation anxiety talk over zoom. It was very informative and well worth the money. I learnt a lot and got a few hints and tips to help my dog

I have just had an hour session with Rachel to help me understand my dogs body language and behaviour. I can honestly say it has helped massively. It has given me reassurance that he is not aggressive and given me confidence in managing the interactions he has with other dogs. I will definitely be be booking again for further support.

As first time puppy owners, Rach has been an absolute godsend. Her hands-on approach to teaching has really helped to build our confidence; after just one session we already felt better about how we were training our puppy and saw immediate improvements in his comfort. We particularly appreciate how non-judgemental and encouraging Rach is about correcting our mistakes.
I couldn't recommend Nose to Trail more highly.

Rachel provided great training for our dogs for issues such as nervousness around people and being easily distracted. Professional, knowledgeable and made training fun and interesting for both the humans and the dogs!

Our labradoodle has just graduated from Rachel’s Teenage Tearaways course. The course was so helpful, from explaining the hows and whys of teenage dog behaviour to suggesting games and training to help. Rachel is a star!

I’ve just taken the No Nonsense Nosework course with my 2 year old Doberman. I would thoroughly recommend this for anyone who is looking for something new and fun to do with their dog. The skills we have acquired have been so useful in general but particularly recently when my dog became ill. We were stuck with on-lead walks for a couple of weeks and this workshop really helped to tire out my very bouncy boy.

I highly recommend Rachel at Nose to Trail. Extremely experienced, qualified and most of all kind to your dogs!! All positive based training for both you and your pooches, really great trainer and coach :-) Can't recommend enough for all your training / behavioural needs. 5*

We have known Rach now for over 12 years and I do not know anyone in the animal behaviour industry who is as experienced and hardworking as Rach. I would recommend her to anybody as a leading practitioner in the field of canines with a wealth of knowledge. We have two spaniels (one with complex needs). Rach has worked with both dogs. One of the most important traits in a trainer I look for is ‘can I trust them with my dogs’ and I can hand on heart say that I trust Rach. As a company, we also recommend Rach to support other businesses!
