Dawn has been fantastic with us and our puppy. She has common sense practical advice and although he’s a great pup, puppies can be a challenge and we saw massive benefits to us all just after one session. Dawn came n recommendation to us and we would highly recommend too.

I have worked with Dawn for several years. Initially for my own dog who was terminally ill and more recently as a professional dog walker.
Dawn has advised my clients and accompanied us on walks so I can work alongside her in their development. She is incredibly knowledgeable and only employs positive methods. I have always found her very friendly, professional and of great help.
When I get another pup we'll be joining one of her classes!

Dawn has been such a huge help with my dog Teddy. Teddy is 4 and is a rescue pup from Greece.
I recently had a baby and found that whilst Teddy is a good dog, following an increase in visitors (and visits from the health visitor), not everyone’s a dog person! Teddy gets over excited with visitors and the postman (he’s a barker!), but with some guidance and simple management techniques, this is getting under control with Dawn’s guidance and support. I actually can’t believe how quickly Teddy’s picked up some of my instructions.
Dawn is professional, quick at responding to queries and is clearly an expert in her field. I can’t recommend her enough! She has also provided useful tips for keeping baby and Teddy safe as baby becomes more active.
Thank for all your help.

Dawn was incredible when we needed a bit of extra help and guidance on how to get our lockdown pup to ease into social situations. We would highly recommend!

Dawn is an excellent trainer of dogs and their owners! We have a very reactive rescue dog and have been on an incredible journey with him thanks to Dawn. She is so knowledgeable about dog behaviour. She is also extremely patient with dogs and their humans. Thanks to Dawn we now have a much happier and calmer dog. I would highly recommend No Longer in the Dog House.

I originally went to Dawn with a super intelligent dog who just couldn’t focus enough to learn. He could do a full agility course but not the weaves Teaching him to use his brain has enabled him to learn how to weave and how to do his contacts properly. Dawn has also helped me with my other dogs learning how not to bark at cats and she is currently working with my new puppy. What I love about working with Dawn is that she works with the dog in front of her rather than trying to apply the same way of doing things to every dog. She is inventive with ideas and her ability to read a dog and know what to try is amazing. Highly recommended!

Dawn is an outstanding dog behaviour training professional. She completely made a difference to me and our dog. We enjoyed working in partnership with Dawn over a five year period - from puppy, through teenager stage to maturer dog.

I met Dawn during lockdown over Zoom when my puppy was 3 months old. Charlie made great progress over virtual sessions and Dawn was brilliant support. When able to, we’ve both really enjoyed the in-person group classes. I have learnt so much about how best to work with Charlie, and have found lots of tips about games and enrichment to help hun have a happy life. We continue to enjoy our training as Charlie becomes a teenager!

I have known Dawn for many years. She has guided me throughout the whole of my 9 years of loving my cockerpoo and now with the training of my 5 month old working cocker spaniel.
Dawn is a patient person and is passionate to get the most from your dogs and, most importantly, getting the dogs to get the best owner out of you.
You can't go to wrong with employing the services this trainer.

We have been in regular contact with Dawn since October 2019. We contacted Dawn via a recommendation by The Barking Lot in Wetherby after we adopted our second dog Costa (a cocker spaniel) from the RSPCA at 5 months old. After spending quite a few months at the rescue centre due to stomach issues we were finally allowed to adopt him. After this time, we felt that he possibly had missed some of the key time to train him. We were therefore keen for some one to one training.
On her first visit we immediately felt that her approach was very practical and the training we were given was achievable. Initially we needed help with lead walking and recall. It was good to have Dawn for a one to one session where we went outside for a walk and therefore, she was able to see first-hand what the issue was. After implementing the training and with the help of different equipment we were able to see progress with Costa. After a while Dawn was able to help ease us into a group class at Kirk Deighton where we were following the Good Citizen scheme. It was so good to mix with other owners and dogs to see there were common issues and how-to problem solve the issues particular to our own dogs. Dawn is particularly good in this area to be able to pinpoint what is not right and find a way to approach the training.
Dawn was very quick to implement and support her clients (new and old) during the recent pandemic and we transitioned to Zoom training classes and to set up two Facebook groups one for training and one for social. Dawn posts videos of her training her own dog Dexter which follows the online training via Zoom. We find the posts invaluable to retain and use in our own training. The same platform is used to post our videos showing the progress we have made following the classes. – the social aspect of the face-book group is brilliant following the highs and lows of dog training.
Initially we were doubtful that training could continue online but Dawn has done an amazing job – it runs so well and its very good to see her and chat at the beginning of the training sessions with the continued progress of our dogs. Dawn is extremely encouraging and positive which inevitably leads us to feel positive too.

No Longer in the Dog House has helped us to settle our puppy Max into our family. Dawn is incredibly knowledgeable and answers all of our hundreds of questions. She is approachable and friendly. We always feel reassured after a session and look forward to working with Dawn as Max grows older.

I highly recommend No longer in the dog house . Extremely knowledgeable about dog behaviour and seek to help owners and dogs through an empathetic, kind and achievable training plan. My two dogs have very different needs and Dawn has given me such valuable advice, it’s really made a difference and had helped us reduce reactivity and anxiety making our walks more of a pleasure , when they used to be a disaster! Can’t speak highly enough and wouldn’t consider choosing anyone else when needing advice and support.

Dawn was recommended to us by a number of Rhodesian Ridgeback owners. We were new to the breed and Dawn immediately demonstrated the depth of her knowledge; being able to reassure and guide us through specific challenges associated with the Ridgeback. She has never been judgemental or impatient at our lack of dog training skills. Dawn persevered to be able to continue to work remotely during the Covid pandemic and as a result we have been able to continue to learn and our dog has developed into a wonderful member of our family. We look forward to progressing further with Dawn and giving our beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback a full and rewarding life.
