I know its easy to give good reviews when you pass your test but I can honestly say that I had the best experience possible when it came to Austin teaching me to drive. I was very nervous to begin with but them nerves disappeared during the first lesson. A brilliant person to learn from, a good laugh along the way, calm, honest feedback after every lesson and if you want someone to give you the confidence within yourself to know that you can do it then look no further than this guy. If you want to become a good driver and pass your test at first go then this is the place to go too.

I had a shaky start to my plan to finally learn to drive at 40 which made me seek a new instructor. I couldn’t have found a more perfect and patient teacher than Austin! He was honest, constructive, clear and calm at all times. He boosted my confidence so much that I passed first time despite leg shaking nerves. I know I am a careful and eco friendly driver because my instructor was passionate about bringing out my best. The fact that I could laugh and drive made my few months with Austin more like therapy than just driving instruction. I’d happily recommend not only for nervous drivers but for nervous parents who want to trust their kid will emerge a great driver not just one who passes a test! Thanks Austin!

I was very nervous to learn to drive and starting at 32 makes it that bit more daunting. Richard took at my pace and helped to build the foundations so I could become a more confident driver. Due to his patience I was able to develop the basic skills and am much more confident and comfortable on the road. I even started to enjoy learning to drive! Learning to drive with Richard of Austins School of Motoring has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've had to date. Being a bit older it's intimidating to start driving later in life and Richard made the experience so much easier. Can’t recommend Richard as an instructor enough especially if you’re an anxious driver. He’s a great teacher who’s honest, personable and reliable. Helping my anxiousness through keeping the lessons relaxed with good chat and laughs along the way. He has done a great job at building up my confidence to drive enough that I look forward to driving instead of dreading it! To top it all of the training material provided at the start couldn’t be more useful with it providing a clear path for how the lessons are going to progress and clear instructions on how the manoeuvres are done. An absolute class act when it comes to driving instructors. Richard is a great teacher who is very personable and was very good at breaking down tricky concepts/manoeuvres. The company also provides a wealth of training materials which I found particularly useful in the run up to my test date. Always on time and willing to fit you in at short notice. These guys are one level above the rest - couldn’t recommend more!

Richard was my driving instructor with Austin Heath Driving School! I had no previous background to driving ever but from the first day I sat behind the wheel, driving just came so naturally to me. It’s all hands down to Richard, he made me feel so comfortable and confident to drive and I genuinely built a really good wee friendship with him over my time of learning! Well what can I say!! At 34 and have never been behind a wheel I was so nervous but it was about time I got it done! Richard was amazing he always turned up on time, great communication throughout the week reference lessons, great ability to explain things so it didn’t sound like a different language. I honestly can say if it wasn’t for his ability to be professional and also have a chat and a laugh at the same time I wouldn’t be as comfortable and confident as I am as a driver now.

Had Richard as my driving instructor. I had never driven a car before getting into the car with him. From the get go i was made to feel comfortable and most importantly calm. I passed my driving test 1st time. Richard also taught my daughter to drive, she passed her test 1st time the week before myself. I honestly couldnt recommend enough.

Can’t recommend Austin more! I had to change instructors just 8 weeks before my test and I was so nervous learning to drive in a totally new car so soon to my test. But after only one lesson with Austin my confidence grew immensely and he ultimately helped me to pass my test!!

EXCELLENT - expert driving instructor I found Austin to be a very supportive and knowledgeable teacher. I was initially nervous about driving. INCREDIBLE PEOPLE AND INCREDIBLE BUSINESS!! To anyone who is looking for instructors, there is no better place to look. After 3 different instructors, 8 years and A LOT of fear, Richard and Austin from Austin's School of Motoring turned me from a nervous wreck into someone who feels safe and enjoys driving. I passed my test today after only a couple of months with Austin's School of Motoring. I had Austin for my first few lessons, and he instantly made me feel at ease with his warm and welcoming demeanour. He asked me what I was nervous about in particular and made sure to go through these elements of driving as many times as I needed with great patience and kindness until I felt confident with each one. From there I looked forward to my lessons and felt I was coming away from each one with a spring in my step, a better and more confident driver. After the school faced a Covid scare and Austin fell ill, he made sure to find another of the school's instructor for me to ensure I didn't fall behind in my learning despite being unwell. And then I got the amazing Richard. That man is an absolute joy to have as a teacher, and I can't thank him enough. He picked up right where Austin left off and every lesson was brilliant. The attentioned he paid to not only nurturing my technical driving ability durring lessons, but also my quiet worry about elements of driving and seaking to find a way to remedy that was invaluable. Again, even when had to have a medical procedure and was recovering in the few days before my test he made sure to check in on me and offered to take me out as soon as he was medically deamed fit to drive (on his weekend off) any hour I needed if there was anything I was unsure about and wanted to go over. These people care about their students and go above and beyond to ensure you feel safe and ready for your driving test. They also have the formal side of learning down to a T. I was able to log onto the school's app and book my lessons, see any cancelations so that I could book extra in a week if I wanted to, see a breakdown of all the areas in which my driving was marked, from individual manoeuvres to clutch control, and saw my progress bars rise after each lesson. As I got better Richard made sure to send me out extra digital booklets tailor made for the school about what to expect in my test, and a clear list of Show Me Tell Me questions so I could revise for my test in good time. I could not recommend them enough!!

Can honestly say with passing my test after being under Austins teaching that he is by far the best driving instructor there is going. Never once felt stressed or worried about a lesson. If your looking to learn how to drive Austin is your man, even when you make a mistake or don't know something, Austin has the ability to keep you stress free and calm so you learn from the mistake and never make it again. Honestly couldnt say anything bad about Austins school of motoring, if you want to learn how to drive this is the only place you need to look.
