After switching from another driving school, Rob's lessons are a massive improvement. His lessons have really improved my driving and I now feel as prepared as I could be for my driving test. He is always flexible on lesson timings and will try and accommodate your schedule as much as possible.

Brilliant experience! I needed some refresher lessons as I hadn't driven for years (and never driven in the UK before). I was so anxious, but Rob helped me overcome my fear of driving. He's so patient and very professional, so definitely recommend!

Rob instantly makes you feel at ease behind the wheel. He also teaches in a really easy to understand way. Ive picked up things from Rob that I couldnt quite understand from a previous instructor. I found Rob on Google after searching for an independent driving school. Not a big franchise therefore I always have the same instructor. Hes very accommodating with where I start and end my lessons as long as its local to Colchester of course! Hes definitely amongst the cheapest driving schools around. Ive recommended to all of my friends. Hopefully i will be passing my test in no time!

I cannot thank Rob enough for his calm, patient and understanding manner in which he conducted my lessons, and the amount of times he got me through with laughter. I am an older lady and found many aspects of driving difficult to take on board, but Rob got me through and i passed my test on March 27th. Fantastic driving instructor who knows all there is to know. Helped me pass first time in short space of time would highly recommend. Can have tendancy to cancel lessons but as it is only one person running Metcalfes it is not surprising and easy to reschedule lessons.

Very good, taught me quickly and safely. Very nice bloke. I’ll miss him once I’ve finished my lessons. Although I passed second time this was my own fault in not checking my blind spot. Definitely made for being a teacher unlike some driving instructors. Max

From a parents point of view..... Rob has worked wonders with my 17 year old daughter! She was very anxious to start to learn to drive, but now there is no stopping her! He has built up her confidence, and she always comes out of the car with a smile on her face!! Thank you Rob :-)
