G. T.I was referred to Derby drivability by my physio from my local hospital after amputation of my right leg. From start to finish my experience with them was first class
They helped me find the right controls that suited me best. Then took me on a road test to see if I was confident enough to stay driving. At the end of the day my expectations were all met. Thank you so much for the chance to prove to myself that I was back in the driving seat once again.

L. 5.I had my driving assessment yesterday, was quite nervous before as I don't know Derby at all and I haven't driven since June. MARK put me at ease, was really friendly and easy to talk to. I did the cognitive skills test, met SUZANNE the instructor, who was also lovely. Suzanne drove us to a quiet are, where we swapped places (Mark was in the back) and I got comfortable with the car. Suzanne navigated, giving me clear instructions, with plenty of time for me to anticipate the turns. I made a couple of errors, but passed! Very pleased now. Thanks to the very helpful, supportive Mark and Suzanne.
S. H.Well what can I say they were more than excellent, absolutely brilliant. Explaining everything from start to finish. Made my husband relax and go over everything so he could take it all in. On his drive they said he done really well, he was chuffed to bits now he knows he can drive.

G.December 2017 : Took my wife to attend a driving ability 'test' Found the staff extremely courteous and caring. This put her much more at ease, and she was able to perform the first part relaxed and passed all requirements. This took just under an hour. The next part was approximately 1 hour 18 minutes test driving a car provided (auto VW Polo) which although unfamiliar to her she was given some time to acclimatise with.(Note the normal DVSA Driving test is less than half an hour) I was not allowed to be present during this phase. Unfortunately she made two or three errors, which were judged to place her under the level required. This was patiently explained by the examiner and colleague. It should be borne in mind that you will be driving a 'strange' car to you, on unfamiliar roads. The location is not easy to find the sat-nav taking you to the main hospital, where quite a number of people asked were unable to give directions.
There is a new building being constructed at the moment. The Post code given is also incorrect, and Google Maps takes you again to the main Hospital. There is only one very small sign, easily missed. This will hopefully be easier in the future when new building opens.
