Just completed my 5 days Class 1 training and am delighted I passed.. Although I already held my Class 2 license and had some experience it was still a nerve racking experience going for my Class 1. My instructor Davie was an ex traffic cop and really helped me throughout the 4 days training, despite him mentioning ‘ mirrors’ every 2 seconds he certainly gave me the knowledge I needed to get me through my test.. Thanks to everyone at Ritchies for the weeks training, and I am now the proud holder of a Class 1 license…

Ritchie's is "The" place to go in the wider Glasgow region for your Category D, HGV, and all other advanced or specialised driving licences. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and waste no time bringing you up to standard. It's a no nonsense environment where you can gain the skills you need quickly. Just done a 10 day course for class 1 hgv. This was a great place to learn from never being in a truck into a pass. My instructor was Cammy, who was so patient in explaining everything that I was doing wrong into correcting mistakes and learning from them. By the second week I felt more confident driving with his tuition. But watch out because every potential hazard he said could happen did! 😂. All in all I cannot fault Ritchies, an impressive well run business and at any time I could ask any question with confidence knowing I would get a straight answer

Doing Class 2 training at Ritchie's and instructor is Liam, currently reviewing before my test so not to be biased if pass or fail. Liam has been a great instructor, patient and good humoured. Truck has been clean and tidy. Website should be updated as is very dated and the main reception and offices look very dated but so far all have been good to deal with along with the other students. Toilets are also clean and tidy. Would recommend to anyone looking to do their training for everything they provide.

I was so nervous starting my course as I hadn’t driven anything bigger than a car and went straight to Class 1. Big Cammy dealt with it so well though, patient, very knowledgable and an excellent instructor. The staff are a good laugh and a great help and the course done exactly what it was meant to do, prepare you to pass your test and I passed first time even when dealing with so much nervousness. Was at ritchies the last 10 days there after a rocky start with a guy who in my opinion has no people skills or respect for woman. Then thankfully on my 3rd day we got Andy who is some guy av never felt so welcome an comfortable get lessons to drive and the knowledge he pasted on was super an module 4 training like to thank davie for that made you feel at ease an passed that so thank u davie then the big day today Andy what a guy a cant thank you enough kept me calm and I passed an its all done to the way he teaches 100% He's in my opinion the best there is for that job thank u from bottom of my heart Andy and all the guys at ritchies training 👍

Very impressive Class 2 course. Straight out on the road. The majority of the course is spent out in the truck with your instructor and one other student. We shared time driving which was a nice balance as the drivers seat is very tiring and there is plenty to learn from the passengers seat also. The team at reception were very friendly and charming. All smiles from the minute you walk in. The building is a little dated however what’s that really matter, it’s about the quality of the course. My instructor Liam was absolutely exceptional. He genuinely really cared about myself and the other student grant. He was friendly, calm and professional which i think is what really helped overcome any nerves. I did notice some other instructors who seemed to swear and stress at their students which I can’t imagine helped. It was all good chat over the daily bacon roll. It was a pleasure meeting grant too. My driving knowledge and understanding has improved x10. Before the course, whilst I regularly drive 3.5t van, i wasn’t confident with the idea of a HGV. I now feel confident to start work driving a Class 2. I recently moved to Glasgow, money has become a real struggle, savings are now dry with the increased cost of living etc… Moving back to my depressing home town in england with my parents at 28yrs old was looking like the only option, a tragic future for me. Now Liam has given me the opportunity to a proper career with a good salary, helping me achieve a PASS first time… Grant also a pass. I’m now in talks with employers offering 12K/year more than what I’ve been on working in other sectors. HGV Class 1 offers even more. There is plenty of work right now driving a HGV. So many employers have contacted me within the first 24hrs after passing it’s insane. I will finally be able to pay the bills and still have money spare giving me the opportunity to buy a property and secure Scotland as my new home… better still I get to spend my working week exploring this beautiful country in a HGV rather than being sat stuck in a office. I will certainly be coming back to Ritchies to further my education and career opportunities by completing my class 1 in the near future. Beg, steal and borrow get yourself booked and change your life. Amazing experience, I’m very grateful thanks Liam and team. Highly recommend

Having completed a A59 JCB above 10 Tonne course just recently I recommend this training centre for its professionalism, everything you need to learn and more is taught to the highest of standards. Training and testing is completed at the centre and they have a range to training courses available to suit a variety of professions from driving to the construction industry. A big thanks to all the staff at the centre who are very helpful and to my course tutors (Tam and Stuart, very competent instructors) and Stuart Mcgowan who conducted my tests (theory and practical in a very professional manner.) There is a local hot food bar just a minutes walk which can get busy, take a flask and food if it is. The local retail outlet is about 5 minutes by car if also needed. If you need training, you cannot go wrong at this establishment.

I have recently attended training with you, catagory C+E(class 1) my trainer was Sammy. I was very pleased with his conduct, enthusiasm and attention to detail during my training. As a hearing impaired person he understood the requirement for clear, concise speach and had patience when I didn't hear him. Always willing to repeat and slow his speech down. Sammy taught the reverse procedure very well, kept it simple and always was there to support in any way he could. Sammy's method of instructing always struck a cord with me and was easy to follow, understand and execute. I’ve been on 360 machine operator course years ago but the crawler crane was by far the most interesting. The instructor Steve and Bob where very experienced an clearly explained everything in detail, in high standard and professional at all times, corrected my problems and in fact made the machine much easier for me to operate. It was easy to follow and covered all aspects of the training. Also they were very good at handling things as I tend to panic in a test situation. For me was a pleasure to get trained such a pristine and enthusiastic centre . My instructor was Alan he must have been pulling his hair out his head with me for the 1st 3 days I was all over the place but thanks to his patience talking me through everything, getting me to relax and slow down I passed with only 3 minors. I have just completed 20 days training at Ritchie's on a course called The Ultimate Driving Course. This course gave me everything I wanted in one go. I started with my C licence on Monday and passed the test on Friday morning, Then passed my module 4 in the afternoon. While my licence was away the following 2 weeks were spent doing Lorry loader (HIAB) followed by ADR (carriage of dangerous goods) I Passed both these exams first time and was back in on the Monday to start my C+E which I passed on Friday. The instruction through out my time spent at Ritchie's was exceptional Both instructors and the team of staff that work in the office couldn't do enough to help me. I've recently left the forces and Ritchie's made it possible to use my resettlement ELCAS funding to pay for most of this training only leaving me a small amount to make up myself. There help didn't stop the minute I completed the course either Stephen kindly made a few phone calls to companies that they have a good relationship with and got me an interview for the following Thursday with a well known company. I can't say enough about how well I have been treated and would highly recommend to everyone to give them a call and see what they can do for you especially ex forces who are looking to gain extra licences.

I am currently in the very first stages of gaining my licence and I'm about to do my theory and hazard perception. Also mod 2 CPC. I had my medical through Richies and I have to say, right from the get go this company have been nothing but helpful and supportive. I've been on the phone to them at least 4 time asking about things I didn't understand regarding CPC and ADR training. The staff on the end of the phone were lovely. They didn't judge my ignorance and explained everything to me in detail and in a way I could understand. Fantastic, made me feel more at ease with the whole thing. As for the medical, Amazing. The lady filled out the forms for me and took time to explain everything regarding sending for my provisional, and what to do when my licence came back. The onsite doctor was fantastic too. I was there less than an hour. I've yet to do any actual training, but I am sure, with regards to the company so far, that it will be a fun and painless course. I can't wait to get started with the Ultimate Driving Course. I highly recommend if you have any questions just to phone them. So, a month later and I'm sitting here with Class 1, ADR, Hiab, class 2 and CPC. This company is second to none, fantastic! Instructors were great, vehicles were modern and easy to handle. The centre itself is modern and a nice place to be. If you are trying to decide whether to go here or to another place in Glasgow to do your training....stop and call Richie's right now! I can't recommend it enough, I don't have a single bad word to say.....I paid them to teach me to class 1 level, and that's exactly what they did...no dramas, no messing about! Go for it!

From the start I have had a great experience. I took my medical with them and went on to take my practical training and cpc mod 4. My trainer is ex army and I found him to be funny, very helpful, answering every silly question I had (and there was a lot haha) This company and everyone that I have had dealings with has been second to none.
