He's really patient and always ready to help and even sometimes went an extra mile to teach and explain stuff so I know the basics so what went wrong and the solution. Learning to drive with Jay was made much easier in his way of teaching. He lets you get hands on immediately, and helps explaining things in various ways until you ‘get it’. If ever in doubt you can always ask him to help you in a different way and he’ll accommodate as much as possible. I was fortunate enough to pass after 7 months first time, so I greatly appreciate the support and flexibility Jay gave me in our lessons.

I’m yet to pass my driving test however I feel confident that it will be Jay who gets me there. I’ve had over 40hrs with a different instructor and have learnt more in just three lessons with Jay about how a car actually works I am a nervous driver but my confidence has improved a lot with Jay. He explains things very well and is extremely patient and understanding He is a great people person and is quick to pick up the things that I am struggling with and can adapt his explanations if I don’t understand the first time. Using metaphors has definitely helped me pick things up quicker. I cannot recommend Jay enough to start/finish your learning journey with - his friendly nature creates a really positive environment to learn in. He is extremely patient in repeating explanations/ practicing specific skills and his teaching style is extremely varied and utilises a lot of daft metaphors - that not only help you to learn but get you through the lesson laughing. He is is very good at picking up when you are stressed or anxious and makes the effort too understand why, helping you to feel safe and supported at overcoming any fears you have! As an anxious driver I have spent years putting up with traumatic learning experiences with other instructors, resigned to the fact that it always had to be like that! - But with jay I feel like I have found myself really looking forward to our weekly lessons, and I really look forward to continuing them!

I passed first time in Leeds (Harehills) with Jay's help. I had two instructors in the past that weren't good at all, I restarted with Jay and he was great, he helped me with my confidence, starting with the basics and working up to complex situations. He uses analogies to explain concepts that make it easier to understand and apply. We started with the basics and worked up to doing tricky test routes. We practiced all the complex test routes and learned all the common ways people fail on those routines, to a point where my actual test route felt too easy. His method for teaching the manoeuvres is really easy to understand and apply in practice. I was confident throughout my test to a point the only negative feedback I got from the tester was that I need to "just get on with it"; I was too relaxed and cautious. I would recommend doing at-least 4 hours per week and around 40 hours total. Jay was flexible with my schedule once I showed commitment to do those hours. I would recommend Jay to anyone that's serious about passing.

This driving school can be thoroughly recommended for a myriad or good reasons. Jay is a truly fabulous instructor. He is very punctual, and he gives you 100% of his time when you get behind the wheel. The lessons are well thought out and individually tailored to suit the specific requirements of his students. He uses his knowledge of local geography to take you on a variety of different roads, and you have the option of preparing for either the Horsforth or Harehills test routes. In addition to face to face interaction, Jay is also good at electronic communication. The lesson vehicle is a good car, of recent production, and is always kept in tip top condition. All in all a positive experience, provided by a very decent fellow. Bravo Sir!
