I located Jay as I wanted to pass my driving test within a realistic time frame. When we first met for my driving lesson I was absolutely amazed at the way Jay explained the fine details. Jay would actually show me via his laptop a diagram of the correct way to complete the driving monitors. This is my certificate I got after the FIRST attempt of my practical, having been taught how to drive as a mature student from SmartDrive : ) I never thought Id ever learn to drive a manual, and here I am - after 32 hours - I can legally drive! Id been trying to get friends to teach me, but no one can really top the skill of a great instructor, who needs so much patience on top of the knowledge of recognising when you need to learn what, when to push you a bit, how to explain things properly, how to boost your confidence and basically be an all round straight talker. My instructor Jay was absolutely fantastic - calm, kind, amusing, punctual and professional. Initially a rather scared and cautious driver initially, Jay helped me gain both skill and confidence. He guided me carefully through all the manoeuvres, taught me how to manage unexpected situations without panicking and ensured that I developed good driving habits that will stay with me when driving independently.
