i couldn’t be happier with my experience! after a years worth of driving lessons with another instructor where i saw little to no progress, i passed my test after 14 lessons with denovo. John was so lovely, helpful and encouraging and even understood the psychology of learning to drive, nerves etc. He was willing to accommodate to my needs regarding picking me up for lessons, or meeting at the test centre, and he even agreed to drive in my car for the few lessons before my test. sounds strange but i actually miss my lessons with him! can’t recommend enough!! 🥰

Literally can’t thank my instructor john penny enough. I passed my driving test first time and had absolutely no doubt going into the test that I wouldn’t pass. Choosing a driving instructor was something I was quite worried about because I wanted to ensure I got to work with someone who is patient, understanding, helpful and friendly- John is all of these things. We made lesson plans together and he always took into consideration the pace that I wanted to work at and the way in which I preferred to learn. He encouraged me and gave me the confidence needed to pass a driving test first time, which is exactly what I did, and with no driving faults! He ensured that I was at test standard and had experienced what a driving test is really like by driving the areas of test routes and completing mock tests. Having had numerous driving instructors and failing my driving test twice before, John is easily the best instructor I have had! He was welcoming, patient and explained things really well. We always had a clear plan of what we wanted to achieve in each lesson and John would always find something positive in each lesson which really helped my confidence! From the very start John was supportive with my training and helped me develop my skills to a good standard quickly within a relaxed learning environment. It didn't even feel like having an instructor in the car with you as I felt I'd built up a friendship with John which helped keep my nerves to a minimal when carrying out new challenging learning. Once you are leading up to test standard, John carries out mock tests with you which helps prepare you and develops an understanding of how to pass a driving test. On my actual test - from past experiences on the mock tests I knew how to handle challenging areas which helped me past my test first time with only 1 driving fault. I couldn't have asked for a better experience with my instructor. I had two very bad previous instructors before I found Denovo Driving so my confidence was completely knocked, but my instructor went at a very easy pace to make sure I was comfortable and that I was happy and fully understood what I was doing before we moved on. Denovo driving tuition, I can not recommend them enough. My instructor was John, he was incredibly kind and patient with me through out my lessons. The 2 hour lessons that they provided really were beneficial to me; as I was able to get used to the car more and it gives you time to relax a little between each bit of learning so you don't end up getting warn out and stressed. The communication between me and John was also great. If I had questions, he was there to help answer them and at the end of the day, it wasn't like having a teacher, its like having a friend on your side who is determined to help you get through the whole driving process. Honestly would recommend to anyone who is looking for lessons.

I can't express how grateful I am for the patience, professionalism and understanding of my Denovo instructor. Having had quite negative past experiences with driving, he built my confidence up enormously, enabling me to pass my test with only one driving fault and a real sense of achievement. Firstly I would like to say the biggest thank you to Denovo Driving, it is all thanks to you that I passed my driving test first time and with no minors! I was very nervous when I first decided to start driving, it was more for necessities that I needed to learn, I did not think I would ever enjoy driving, I just wanted to get it over and done with as fast as possible so that I could get myself from A to B. The initial thought of driving petrified me, the thought of worst case scenarios were running through my head, and the thought that I should have done it when I was younger, like everyone else did. My instructor picked up this vibe from me straight away and put me at ease. We took driving one step at a time, so that I never felt out of my comfort zone; I always received the level of support that I needed. With each lesson I developed my driving and learnt the skills that I needed to drive independently and safely and it was always at a pace that suited me, I always felt comfortable with each part of the driving experience and ready to face the next challenge. I had my lessons in two-hour sessions, which I feel is the perfect amount, it took me a little time to warm up and get used to driving again, so by having two hours I really felt I was learning but I wasn't overdoing it, and the prices were fair, I aways chose to pay for the block sessions, which worked out to be great value. And my instructor was wonderful when it came to flexibility, I had to have a few months off lessons due to an operation, but when I was ready I picked the driving back up straight away. Now, I am a confident driver, and I enjoy it, it no longer serves the purpose of driving to and from work, I go out because I have that freedom now, I have the ability to go where I like and it has opened up so many more doors for me, and that is purely because of the tuition I received! It has made me a completely different person. If you want a driving instructor that is friendly; encouraging; who boosts your moral and shows you how far you have come; then I 100% recommend Denovo. There is no negativity, if there is a near mishap - it is a learning opportunity, and you always walk away feeling positive and that you have become a better driver because of it. After having a bad experience with my first driving instructor, I lost all my confidence and stopped believing in myself. It was on my 10th lesson, when I received a text message from my instructor telling me she will no longer be teaching me. It didn't make any sense to me why she had made this decision. "Was I a bad driver? did she not think I was capable of ever passing my test?" All these doubts started creeping into my mind. I decided maybe driving isn't for me, eventhough I really enjoyed my lessons and was a very teachable student. I took a two years break but things got tough as the kids started school and I was running around all day. It was in early January 2019, when I decided to research on the internet and find a good local driving school, I came across Denovo and instantly knew they were the one. They had really good reviews and also a lot of their students were left in the dark by previous instructors and denovo welcomed them with open arms. Now don't get me wrong, my instructor was a lovely lady but I do believe she didn't really understand me and my ways of learning. This is important as every student has their own unique way of consuming and digesting information, she taught me in a way which confused me and frustrated her. We hardly did any theory work, I didn't understand basic stuff like where to position the car when turning left, which mirrors to look into, when to signal etc and by my second lesson I was driving home. I was making hundreds of mistakes not knowing where I was going wrong as I hadn't been taught the foundational steps. We were driving on busy roads, motorways and round abouts by my 3rd lesson. Nothing was sinking in, I was becoming frustrated as I felt I was making no real progress. My instructor telling me she no longer will be teaching me was a blessing in disguise. I was fortunate to have found Denovo school, my instructor Dennis, is an incredible instructor. He instantly understood my way of learning, he knew that I was more of a theory person and I had to firstly learn to build that rock solid foundation before driving on busier roads and meeting situations. Dennis, also gave me homework weekly so I could think about everything I learned during the lesson. This was fantastic, as it helped me prepare for my next lesson without forgetting what I had learned in previous lessons. Dennis is not only a great driving instructor he is also very good with mindset trainings, this is very important for drivers. He helped me overcome my fear and has always put my mind at ease. He is very knowledgeable and spends a lot of time investing in himself, he is up to date with his trainings and can teach his students the best way possible. He speaks on the level of his students, making everything easy to digest and he will only move onto the next step when students are comfortable and have cracked the code with their learning. He takes things one step at a time and not only that Dennis is very calm. I am so glad, I chose Denovo. I have made huge progress in my driving in a very short space of time. After failing 4 driving tests with 2 different instructors I was a bit anxious when choosing a driving instructor so I Googled a few and read the reviews and Denovo driving stood out compared to all the others and when I rang up I got talking to my instructor about previous fails and experiences and then decided to book my first lesson with him. Our teenage sons took to the road with Dennis and Denovo just after there 17th birthday. Finding a driving instructor that stands out from the rest was difficult however after talking to Dennis it was evident he was engaging, professional and above all else wanted to do the best for our sons. After having two unsuccessful tests with two different driving instructors, I turned to De Novo with John as he had plenty of reviews of people like me who had bad experiences. He really helped me improve and made me realise that I wasn't a bad driver, just didn't have the experience or skills needed to pass the test. He specifically helped me on maneouvres especially a reverse bay park which before I would have never got right first time. He also helped me with my confidence, especially on roundabouts!! He constantly went over test routes so that I was familiar with all kind of junctions and roundabouts all over peterborough unlike my previous instructors who tended to stick in the same area. He was aware that I needed to pass before my theory test ran out and I went back to uni so really helped with time scales by focussing each lesson on aspects that I needed to improve instead of consistently doing mock tests. After 2 bad instructors and 1 failed test with poor preparation and tuition i finally found John Penny at Denovo,who got me over my driving fears, built my confidence and got me upto test standard! Lost your confidence in driving? Want to get it back like I did? Well this is what happened. I am an older driver, with over 40 years' experience and was recently involved in a sudden, and nasty accident. I subsequently lost all confidence in driving and even pondered whether to give it up altogether. However, I was recommended to John Penny, who took me under his wing, as he has with many others (covering a wide range of ages), who have lost their confidence for one reason or another.
