Highly recommend check mirrors. Ryan taught my son who has just passed 1st time. He has had a bit of rocky time learning with having to pause lessons during the pandemic and a previous instructor retiring! He started learning with Ryan and he really boosted his confidence and he really enjoyed his lessons. He said Ryan made him feel at ease. Thanks so much.

I have just passed my test today learning with check mirrors and Sarah as my instructor. I am happy to say that they are a great driving company. Sarah went through each topic in detail and we then practised it. When I started getting more confident with driving we moved onto harder things such as dual carriageways and large roundabouts, when I didn’t know something or made a mistake, I was quickly told the right thing to do in a kind way. I would recommend learning with them.

Utterly brilliant driving school. I took my lessons with Rob. I did one lesson a week and within a few months I not only passed with 4 minors but first time! Rob was exceptionally patient with me and I couldn’t thank Sarah enough either for squeezing me in during busy covid times. I would totally recommend this school over any others. I’ve had experience with both and check mirrors have gone above and beyond. I also found pricing very reasonable and much cheaper than some out there. Thanks again guys! So happy to be on the road!!

Took my driving test this morning and passed first time. I had Rob Kedge as my driving instructor and he was super friendly and attentive. Would really recommend him. Helped me gain my confidence greatly and let me go the pace I wanted to go. He has now switched to automatic driving so anyone trying to find an automatic driving instructor I would definitely go to him! Thanks Rob and check mirrors:)

I started out lessons with Rob who was fab but at the time had to give up lessons due to losing my job and not being able to afford.it, when id found work again contacted Sarah who referred me to Ryan who was utterly amazing! Ryan was calm and very patient and dealt very well with me being nervous, he never once shouted or made me feel bad for going wrong. Hi, I just passed my first time driving test with zero fault today in York. CheckMirrors was a highly recommended school for everyone who wish take a driving lesson. Rob, who is my instructor, he is a fabulous and excellent instructor I ever have. He is responsible and helpful throughout the lesson in helping you understand and be confidence before moving to the next lesson. He always deliver positive vibes to build up me confidence and reduce my anxiety, as once you get nervous it is easily to make mistake. We were delighted with check mirrors and instructor Ryan who took his time to train our daughter Aine to drive. He was patient and accommodating throughout and she gained in confidence and ability quickly. Backed up with plenty of practice from Dad, she passed her test first time, but it was thanks to Ryan's skill and up to date training that got her through. Sarah started teaching me at a time where I didn't enjoy driving and was constantly on edge behind the wheel. Amazing experience and I know all reviews start like that but..... We had to change instructor from a that's OK to a Now lets do it correctly and safely and that's what checkmirrors do best. Really reassured with the feedback which included actually talking to her instructor William (I know not often easy while we are working parents) at a time to suit us about her progress and or his use of the occasional assisted braking!! She's not sat her test yet but thought the review would be helpful even if she's on the bus for the rest of her life. Will be using their passplus as well, passing the test is the start of the lesson.

Would highly recommend check mirrors! I learnt with Sarah and wow what and instructor! She tailored the lesson to me so that I had the best chance of learning, as let’s face it we all learn differently…. From the the lesson with the frisbee to my nemesis the clicker! All great fun ways of learning! Sarah was always on time and her car was always clean and tidy…. I also had the pleasure of having a lesson with Ben and William, and they are both epic instructors! I can’t thank all at check mirrors enough! But especially Sarah for helping me learn a life skill that will give me freedom and independence.. I can't thank Sarah enough. I was very nervous and didn't want to get in the car on my first lesson but her calm encouragement and reassurance helped me to overcome my fears. 1 year later I've gained so much confidence and self belief and I've passed, first time! After passing first time with Checkmirrors, I decided to do the Pass Plus course with Rob now I have bought my first car. I felt that it gave me the necessary confidence both to get back behind the wheel after a little break, and also to go on the motorway for the first time and use them safely and correctly. I also really enjoyed the other aspects of the course that helped me build confidence in less common areas of driving - Rob was really supportive and knowledgable. I started my driving lessons in January with Sarah. My goal was to pass my test by my 30th birthday in August. After my nerves in my first lesson I didn’t think for a second it was achievable, Sarah disagreed there and then and right from the beginning and from that first lesson did nothing but praise and encourage every step of progress that I made. I did it and passed my test a week ago, a month before my 30th. This was absolutely down to the patience, care and encouragement shown by Sarah. I enjoyed every lesson, even the ones that scared me and felt a real sense of achievement every time I got out of her fantastic car. Where do I start… I learnt with Sarah in October 2011 and passed first time in 2012, and what a fun 6 months it was! Sarah pushes you out of your comfort zone, in order to build your confidence when driving on the road. Sarah is very patient, and knows how to put you at ease and keeps you calm, both of which are key contributing factors to learning and passing! She also knows how to make learning to drive fun; to the point I was slightly gutted when I passed first time. If you’re looking to pass first time and have fun whilst learning, look no further than CheckMirrors School of Motoring. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
