Hired to automate and fix an 100 year old existing iron gate. Excellent from start to finish. Really neat wiring, overall tidiness, and over came a few issues (using old gate and existing infrastructure) with ease. Now have a really nice easy to open / close functioning entrance. Note this wasnt for security as gate us only a metre high, but to allow it to close with a click and lock out of hours (usable in the daytime). Would highly recommend Mark and his team. Worked in all weathers also! Steve

I had a great experience with Mark from the initial point of contact. Nothing was a problem as there was a solution to every challenge. My set up wasn’t ideal, but the advice and end result has been spot on. I have automation for my gates linked with Ring and Alexa (all linked by Mark @ Essex Electric Gates) as I am not that great at this kind of stuff…. I would add that the after care and service has also been tip top. I wanted to add things to the set up and enhance a few things after initial fit and guidance. These had been suggested by Mark, but also advised to see how I get on and add if I think I need additions after using….. such as back-up power and exit button. All fitted and all working as expected. I did shop around. I spoke with at least 6 different companies. Mark was one to trust for me based on what I was taking on board from all quotes and suggestions from meetings. Not the most expensive, or the cheapest, but the quality of work, product and advice was 100% the best for me by a long shot. I would highly recommend Mark to anyone.

I would highly recommend Mark at Essex Electric Gates. Our gates were installed by another company seven years ago, but our key fobs had stopped working, and that company is no longer trading. I emailed Mark on Saturday, he called me to discuss the same afternoon, and had done the work by lunchtime on Sunday. He was incredibly quick and professional, reasonably priced, and made sure everything was working before he left. Really happy to have found this company, and wouldn't go anywhere else in future.

Mark was amazing. He discussed and explained everything to us (in layman’s terms) about the gate, it’s components and how it all worked. Wow! Mark came to our rescue!!! After being messed around twice by clearly two cowboys, 3rd time lucky I contacted mark and explained our situation of paying out for our gate to be motorised to discover they had fitted faulty equipment and unreliable these so called companies came to supply and fit to then not returning to complete the job after being paid. Mark agreed he would come and help us and rectify any problems.. and that he did. He completed the work last Friday and tisay called for an update to see if the work he carried out is all working fine. Amazing company would highly recommend and will be using him again on other projects I'm sure. Thank you Mark!

I had my gates automated 5 years ago, by another local company. Cutting a long story short, it was a shambles. However just recently we came across Essex Electric Gates and I just wish we had found this company 5 years ago, it would have saved a lot of hassle and money. Mark did offer to look at out existing set up and was totally prepared to spend time trying to fix all the problems. It was us, who actually pushed him to quote for a totally new system and what he came up with was much better suited to our needs. Mark's manner was professional, whilst at the same time friendly and considerate. He gave us various add on options with our system and at no time did we feel pressured into buying anything. He took the time to make sure our system was working and that we were 100% happy, before he left. We are expecting to hear from him in a further six weeks, as his normal practice is to carry out a follow up call to ensure that everything is working smoothly. I have total confidence in Mark and I know that I would be able to contact him at anytime in the future should a problem arise. I have no hesitation in recommending him to others.

Every aspect of this installation has been extremely impressive, notwithstanding the fact the quote was very competitive. Mark’s attention to detail is second to none: - Mark guided me through the purchase of the gate itself from a third party ensuring numerous potential banana skins were avoided. His experience and persistence here was invaluable in getting the very precise specifications that were required. - Mark was very clear as to timings, when he would be able to come and get the job done, and stuck to them despite a couple of delays to the gate arriving which complicated his schedule. - Mark installed the gate and automation very precisely - mm perfect. - our installation and automation was a very complicated job which required much ingenuity to overcome various issues, from the distance of the gate from the house making WiFi not straightforward, to our very detailed requirements as to how we wanted the gate to operate and interact with various WiFi enabled devices. Mark clearly has a huge amount of knowledge on all these complicated electrical difficulties in the first place, but was also able to think on his feet, coming up with new solutions to our exacting and evolving specifications. He also came back after completion to iron out any teething issues and ensure we were happy with the gate’s functionality. Furthermore, when I raised paying the invoice he responded that I would not get a bill until I was totally happy everything was completed to our satisfaction. And he will not stop until you are totally satisfied! And finally it was a real pleasure to have him on our property doing his work. A true professional but fun, interesting and genuine as well. Would thoroughly and wholeheartedly recommend his services.

We own a large Boarding Cattery in Essex and rely on our Electric gate system for security and reliability at all times and they are opening constantly 7 days a week. Mark importantly for us has a BT electronics engineering background and really understands electronics he also found us a nice new intercom system to our requirements that was fitted at the same time giving us a great new modern system that is Guaranteed. Had a couple of setting up adjustments needed after initial fit, and as good as his word promptly responded to our message and popped back to do the final adjustments. They open and shut quite as a whisper and have had no trouble ,Extremely satisfied and gives me great comfort that he is there in the future if anything arises . Fitted nice and efficiently and at a Good and Fair price ,with Guarantee of workmanship. He has also installed another full Electric gate system for our sister in law and again very happy no problems. Reliable, friendly service and great value ! Mark replaced our faulty gate system with a new system that includes Alexa integration and Ring doorbells. This amazing system is so easy to operate and means we can now control opening our gates from anywhere, we can see who is at the gates in HD quality, and with Alexa integration we can simply open the gates with a quick command. Mark also installed automatic gate opening as we approach the gates, so no more searching for the remote! I would not hesitate to recommend. We are really pleased with results and the service was outstanding.

In summer 2019 - after ongoing failures of our gates for about a year - we were recommended to Essex Electric Gates by a highly respected contractor we use for electrocinc inside the house. Mark came to site quickly, given his workload, once we had explained our problems - trying to market the house but coudnt rely on gates to fail and trap visitors. Within a short time he had identified the problems (cut loop damaged by a gas services company, a break on the intercom to house and another issue within. the circuit board). The parts were ordered (some from Nice) and within a week they arrived and were installed and working first time. A week ago when the gates suddenly failed to close at all for some reason, Mark was again on hand over the phone, to help work out that we actually had a faulty transmittor which was stuck on and asking the gates to keep opening - I do not know where we would be without Essex Electric's help and I only wish the contractor had told me about them a year earlier. Our house is now up for sale and the properly working gates are a real advantage. Cannot speak highly enough of Mark and will take a call and show pictures of our gates to anyone. Top top professional!
