Colin has installed a new consumer unit (fuse board), lights, sockets, switches and smoke alarms for us. He has been the first person to be completely honest with us about the work that needing doing, despite the obvious financial implications of doing everything properly. He has explained everything he’s been doing, been extremely professional and punctual, and has left everything clean and tidy. We would absolutely recommend him.

Colin came to our house to add extra sockets for a new fireplace and to relocate the tv and satellite system from one side of the room to the opposite wall. Colin went the extra mile and also came up with some great suggestions such as cable management and hiding our Sky box and cables all out of the way under the stairs. Colin has recently undertaken a range of work at our property. This included undertaking an inspection and repairs required to make our home electrics safe. This included replacing an old consumer unit, repairing wiring faults, installing fire rated lights and replacing old cracked sockets. Colin also installed new ceiling lights throughout our property, as well as security cameras, external lights and a new burglar alarm system. Colin and his assistant Ellis were totally professional throughout. They were helpful, courteous, tidy and extremely knowledgeable, meaning that we would have no hesitation in recommending them for electrical work.

We initially contacted Colin (Ray of Light) regarding an installation of an outside socket. Due to it being a rented accommodation, Colin carried out a full electrical safety inspection according to the current electrical safety standards. Colin replaced an old consumer unit, installed an outside socket and replaced internal sockets. His work is of very high standards and he took the time to explain what needed to be done. He left the house very clean and tidy. Despite how busy Colin is he worked very hard to accommodate us. He takes pride in his work and he is a FANTASTIC electrician. We will NOT use anyone else only Colin (Ray of Light).

From the start he was able to give an accurate prediction of scale of the job, how long it might take, and an indication of the cost. Colin clearly takes pride in his work. The cost was always fair, with hours work reflected accurately and even refunds if parts or wire were not used. I got Colin to replace 2x Dimplex heaters and a shower unit. Paid a deposit in advance for the heaters and they were delivered the next day. The installation was done a couple of days later. Was very clear in his explanation of what needed doing and how he would do it, stuck to the schedule and everything was completed to a very high standard. I was a bit wary of getting the work done in advance but having used Ray of Light I would 100% recommend them. Will definitely be using again.

Fantastic work all round. Colin from Ray of Light performed an initial inspection on my house, and a subsequent rewire and house alarm fitting. He was very clear in his inspection findings and early on brought the issues and suggested remedial action optione to my attention. Colin is really thorough in his work and maintains exceptionally high standards. He works tidily and cleans up after the work is done. The whole process was hassle free; from being quick to respond to my requests and turning up on time, to the finishing touches including issue of certification. I recently had a problem with my solar panels. I tried to contact the suppliers and electrical contractors, but both companies had ceased trading!!! I Googled for a local suitable electrician and Ray of Light was one of the results. I immediately telephone Colin and we arranged for him to visit the following day (Saturday) for a diagnostic investigation. Colin was very clear from the outset about his charges, which was a welcome change from some tradesmen that I have employed previously. Colin determined that my 'inverter' was faulty and needed replacing. By agreement, Colin contacted me within 2 working days with a quotation for the work saying that he could perform the work within a week, subject to availability of the replacement item. The work was completed yesterday, Monday. Colin's work ethic is excellent. He is clean, methodical and very safety conscious. I have not long bought a house and found Ray Of Light Electrical. After a brief conversation on the phone, Colin was around the next day as agreed. Colin quickly identified a number a faults and issues with the current wiring of the house, which was promptly corrected. I then asked Colin to complete the wiring of the extension. Colin explain incredibly well and in detail all the stages to wire an extension. Including fitting a new consumer unit. Colin has since fitted CCTV and an Alarm system. There is no one I would recommend more. Top Job, Top Bloke.

Ref: Pulsacoil repair - So pleased we found Colin who did a great job fixing our Pulsacoil water heating system. Having recently acquired the apartment it was evident that the water heating system was faulty. Colin identified that the previous owners had disconnected the economy10 so we were unable to benefit from the off-peak rate and that the immersion heaters were leaking. He was extremely knowledgeable of the system, turned up when he said he would and was reasonably priced. Would highly recommend Colin and we also appreciated the additional safety and cost saving advice he gave us whilst he on the premises. Thanks again Colin!

I had Colin today to fix the power switch to the electric shower. He was a decent bloke; punctual and efficient and was well prepared. He taught me some general household safety and how to maintain the welfare of the switch. The price isn't bad, and he will come in again tomorrow to fix my extractor fan. I initially had Colin to do some work for me back in February, from the intital phone call enquiry, an appointment was made to come out and quote, followed by completing the works to suit me as I work full time. Colin even came out to do part of the works on a Sunday so as not to delay planned works with another trade. Initially I asked Colin to fault find on an internal light, remove some unwanted wiring and supply and fit an external security light. I was so impressed that I have had Colin back to carry out additional works for me, repositioning security cameras and fitting internal lights for me, again, Colin worked around my schedule with this. I have just had colin out to have a look at my immersion heater because I had no hot water. He came out within half an hour and fixed everything within 1 hour at a very good price! I am happy that he did come out, I had a couple of lad come an look at it earlier in the day and left without doing anything, pulled the plug socket out and left.
